Dimenhydrinate "I have sleep issues and have for years. I've been on the same low dose of clonazepam at bedtime for probably 20 years, so it doesn't work so well anymore. We have tried several add-on drugs to increase my sleep time, but nothing worked well or had horrible side effects. Finally, after 2 years of trying things, my doctor said, 'Have you tried Benadryl or Dramamine?' Seemed like a million other things, both natural and pharmaceutical, but I never had tried Dramamine. Well, it does make you very tired! For a good 12 hours, it makes you tired, so you need to cut it in half and take it an hour before you go to sleep. I find I can just use it every other day. Your body won't get used to it that way either. Could possibly be too fatiguing for some to use on a regular basis. For me, an excellent sleep aid suggested by my physician. It seems to calm you too, as well as lowering your BP a little bit... neither bad things! Very pleased."

Dimenhydrinate for Nausea/Vomiting "Went out with my friends on a Saturday night, got home around 3 AM. Had to wake up at 6 AM for work, and I woke up with the spins and felt like throwing up. I continued to feel like this for the remainder of the shift until I saw Dramamine at the gas station on my lunch break. Decided to take 2, and I felt so much better. This brought back my appetite and stopped the spinning/nausea."

Dimenhydrinate for Motion Sickness "I've taken this for motion sickness, and it absolutely does help with preventing the nausea. When on Dramamine, I will occasionally get a hint of it - or maybe it's just the recognition that certain conditions should be making me sick. Either way, nothing close to what I would experience when I'm not medicating. The only critique I have to offer is the drowsiness. Desperately wishing to lay down and close my eyes, which can happen on Dramamine, is inconvenient if it's not the type of trip I want to sleep through."

Dimenhydrinate for Motion Sickness "I took a full pill for a precaution for sea sickness before going on a whale watch. I don't usually get sea sick, but said what the heck since the Dramamine box said non-drowsy. It is now 24 hours later and I am still completely out of it. I had to have someone drive my car home, and I fell asleep in the car. I came home and slept 3 hours, then went to dinner and went to bed after and slept for about 10 hours. Still do not feel like me. So bummed! At least sea sickness is short term."

Dimenhydrinate for Motion Sickness "This is the only one that works for me, and it really does work half an hour after taking it. This is important for me, as our trips out in our boat are very spur of the moment. Sadly, I can no longer get this in the UK."

For Insomnia "It takes a bit of time for it to hit, maybe 30 mins, but I can do anything in that time, and I'll still be out like a light and wake up feeling better rested than I ever have. I took 2, and that made me seriously groggy in the morning, but taking 1 works great."

Dimenhydrinate for Motion Sickness "I take this for motion sickness, as well as occasional nausea. It works beautifully. I'm able to go on longer road trips and boats without being bothered by motion. And not only do I feel well physically, but my mind is at ease knowing that I don't really have to worry about it. I also appreciate the fact that it's widely available and relatively inexpensive. I usually buy the generic version, but I find that it works just as well."

Dimenhydrinate for Motion Sickness "I have always been a roller coaster junkie, but as I've grown up, my equilibrium isn't the same. I'm almost 51, but can take one of these and go on all the rides with my kids that I used to, and I feel great. It also doesn't make me as tired as the other stuff. I can't wait to try it on a plane. Great product!"

Dimenhydrinate for Nausea/Vomiting "I have indigestion issues really bad. I rarely drink alcohol, but when I do drink, it's usually one drink or two because my stomach hates it. Not thinking and being stupid one day, I drank too much and got sick, nauseous. Could not hold down even water. I took 2 Dramamine because the vomiting would not stop, and finally, I felt more calm and my stomach eased up. Lesson learned, oh, and it helps with my anxiety and insomnia."

For Insomnia "Dramamine works well for me for nausea on long-haul flights, but has never, ever, over a period of several years, made me feel even slightly drowsy, which is such a pity. Tried 100 mg yet again last night in the hopes it would do something, but zero, absolutely nothing, didn't fall asleep the entire night. Have had chronic insomnia for many years and have tried nearly every relevant prescription available with some success, but would like to take something less powerful. Just not Dramamine, sadly. Glad it works for some!"

Dimenhydrinate for Motion Sickness "I recently bought the PS4 VR helmet. Almost every game made me motion sick. I tried Dramamine by taking it one hour before playing. Not one game bothered me at all. I played four straight hours and had a blast. I have only tried this once and had 100% success. Today I am giving it a go again!"

Dimenhydrinate for Nausea/Vomiting "I have migraine auras. Been suffering with this a year and a half so bad I felt I needed to be on disability. Been to neurologists, MRIs, and CT scans, nothing has worked better for me than over-the-counter Dramamine. Hats off to the manufacturers."

Dimenhydrinate for Motion Sickness "When cruising, only need one pastille a day. Best seasick pill I've ever had, would recommend. Have been cruising for approximately 10 years but have only been using Travel-Eze for about 5 years when a Boots customer said that it was the best one she had used for her daughter, who is now never ill while traveling on any form of transport. Took her advice."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have been experiencing severe nausea and vomiting due to my long-term medications. So far, dimenhydrinate combined with ginger tea (ginger root soaked in hot water) has had the best results. I'm finally able to eat some food again."

For Nausea/Vomiting "This stuff is the only stuff that has helped me with my nausea during early pregnancy! I have other kids I need to tend to, and my morning sickness has me in bed wanting to sleep all day. But if I take just one tablet every 24 hours, I am up and running at full speed again!"

Dimenhydrinate for Motion Sickness "I enjoy sport fishing. Most of the time about 3 to 4 days out at sea on a 30-footer boat, which can rock severely during storms. To help myself from being seasick/motion sickness, I frequently take 1 NOVOMIT pill every 8-9 hours. I am in my mid-40s, and I felt the pills do really help. It would cost about USD $4 per box/8 pills from the pharmacy. Hope this information is useful."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have problems with nausea related to acid reflux, and Dramamine works great after 15-30 minutes when taken as needed at only 25 mg. I do, however, get the common side effect of tiredness, but I usually feel well enough to stay awake. Interestingly, I don't feel this side effect with a product not available in the US, which is a chewing gum that contains 20 mg of dimenhydrinate and is chewed for 10 minutes. I don't feel tired at all when I use the chewing gums."

For Motion Sickness "Our six-year-old gets terrible motion sickness even on short trips. We recently went on vacation, and the drive was proving to be too much for her. She threw up the whole day and then some the next, even after she was out of the car - really heartbreaking. We purchased dimenhydrinate at the suggestion of the pharmacist, and she was perfectly fine in 20 minutes. We finished our drive from Canada to North Carolina, and she was completely healthy and happy the entire trip. FABULOUS!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "When I had gastroenteritis and was throwing up for 24 hours, this pill I can assure you works 100% for vomiting. As soon as I took one 50 mg tablet, I went to sleep. I have panic disorder, and it's like the pill automatically calmed me down within 30 minutes. It also calmed my stomach. I would give this medication a try if you are really sick and need something to calm your stomach. The ginger gravol also helps, but it is non-drowsy. I would stick with this one for vomiting, nausea, and motion sickness. I also use it on the ferry to sleep. It also helps with my vertigo spells."

Dimenhydrinate for Nausea/Vomiting "We always use Dramamine for car sickness, but my youngest came down with a tummy bug. She refused to take it in, but the moment my stomach started to feel off, I took a 24 Dramamine, and wow! I used to take Zofran for migraines, and this worked just as well. Although, had I not taken it before my stomach got too upset, I’m not sure I could have kept it down. Needless to say, I had to use it for two days. My stomach was definitely upset, but this was keeping nausea at bay, and I managed to stop all the vomiting. Thank goodness!"

For Motion Sickness "For me, it's a miracle medicine. I purchase it OTC and can't believe how well it relieves symptoms of vertigo. Wonderful success with this medication. In the past, I actually had to pull over when driving a vehicle because I couldn't focus on the road. I take 100 mg, and in a few minutes, I'm back on the road. Amazing! I suffer from tinnitus and get 'off balanced' very easily. It completely cures my motion sickness."

Dimenhydrinate for Motion Sickness "I've taken Dramamine a couple of times with good results, however, the other day I took it, and it was a disaster. I usually experience agitation and dizziness while being a passenger in a car, and it usually dulls it, but this time, it made my symptoms substantially worse. I developed sensitivity to light, sound, and even temperature felt more intense, and that was in addition to the agitation and dizziness. Please use with caution."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I don't normally take this. I don't drink coffee. A cola keeps me awake all night. I usually take 25 mg (half a pill). I have to be careful at night. The second drug, 8-Chlorotheophylline, is a lot like caffeine, and it keeps me awake for hours. Since I've had a concussion (I lost consciousness briefly), I'm very nauseous. Dimenhydrinate in the daytime helps a bit. I still vomit. I have to take diphenhydramine at night or else. Last night, I was laying awake until 7 am. I wanted to sleep. It was as if I drank coffee or cola late. Now my sleep schedule needs to be fixed too. Oh well, I'm so sick from being hit in the head. I can barely eat. I lay around or plain sleep when I am dog-tired. It works well during a car trip or plane ride. Motion sickness."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I would like to add that I have been taking it on and off for months. That's against the directions on the box. I've noticed my kidneys hurt. Today my eyes were slightly yellow. Without the 8-Chlorotheophylline, it makes me very tired. But it's too strong and lasts too long for me. Not being a caffeine consumer, I'm going to have to stop. I stop for weeks. I'm seeing a doctor very soon. I will have to see if they can help me. It's good for traveling. Not a bad concussion."
