Dimenhydrinate "I have sleep issues and have for years. I've been on the same low dose of clonazepam at bedtime for probably 20 years, so it doesn't work so well anymore. We have tried several add-on drugs to increase my sleep time, but nothing worked well or had horrible side effects. Finally, after 2 years of trying things, my doctor said, 'Have you tried Benadryl or Dramamine?' Seemed like a million other things, both natural and pharmaceutical, but I never had tried Dramamine. Well, it does make you very tired! For a good 12 hours, it makes you tired, so you need to cut it in half and take it an hour before you go to sleep. I find I can just use it every other day. Your body won't get used to it that way either. Could possibly be too fatiguing for some to use on a regular basis. For me, an excellent sleep aid suggested by my physician. It seems to calm you too, as well as lowering your BP a little bit... neither bad things! Very pleased."

Dimenhydrinate for Motion Sickness "I have always been a roller coaster junkie, but as I've grown up, my equilibrium isn't the same. I'm almost 51, but can take one of these and go on all the rides with my kids that I used to, and I feel great. It also doesn't make me as tired as the other stuff. I can't wait to try it on a plane. Great product!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have problems with nausea related to acid reflux, and Dramamine works great after 15-30 minutes when taken as needed at only 25 mg. I do, however, get the common side effect of tiredness, but I usually feel well enough to stay awake. Interestingly, I don't feel this side effect with a product not available in the US, which is a chewing gum that contains 20 mg of dimenhydrinate and is chewed for 10 minutes. I don't feel tired at all when I use the chewing gums."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I would like to add that I have been taking it on and off for months. That's against the directions on the box. I've noticed my kidneys hurt. Today my eyes were slightly yellow. Without the 8-Chlorotheophylline, it makes me very tired. But it's too strong and lasts too long for me. Not being a caffeine consumer, I'm going to have to stop. I stop for weeks. I'm seeing a doctor very soon. I will have to see if they can help me. It's good for traveling. Not a bad concussion."

Dimenhydrinate for Nausea/Vomiting "Love Dramamine. Don't go anywhere without it. Helps with travel anxiety too. But makes you very tired."

Dimenhydrinate for Motion Sickness "I am so glad I found this! I've been dealing with motion sickness for years. It was almost impossible for me to ride in the backseat of a car before this medication. I first used Dramamine for a 4-hour road trip in a large van. I was so nervous about getting motion sickness I almost didn't go. I took 2 pills about 30 minutes before, and it completely kept the sickness away! It did make me tired, and I ended up taking a little nap, but that's better than nausea. I can do everything I couldn't do before in a car, from reading to having a normal conversation."
