Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I was taking Yaz for about a year and a half, and it was actually working great. I started taking Apri about 4 or 5 months ago. Yes, my periods are regular, and I am not pregnant, but my cramps are extremely painful still, and I am very moody. I also have a very diminished sex drive."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I grew up with PCOS, endo, dysmenorrhea. I started taking BC around 12, I've tried at least 9 BCPs. I'm about to start month 3 of Caziant, and my experience is: 1st month had some moodiness, boobs were kinda sore, cramps minimal, and bleeding was VERY light, but had breakthrough for 5 days before my period, then a light 3-4 day period. Month 2 is great, a few days of grouch and anxiety (normally BAD), sleep & workouts are great (avid lifter 15-20 hrs a week). My boobs look fantastic, and while my libido is down a bit, I'm having no issues getting stuff done. I'm tired, and my weight is up 5 lbs, but no size gain, so no worries. I am about to start my inactive pills in 4 days, I am PMSing. Starving, slight cramps, and night sweats. Normally, it's much worse. So far, I'm happy with Caziant. I have not become anemic, depressed, or had panic attacks. I get mine from Costco, they have a discount card-3 months for about $75."

For Birth Control "This happened to be my first BC ever. It was a bit hard at first, getting used to it. The first month or so, I would get really nauseous, and I puked in my mouth once. I was extremely moody, and my boyfriend wasn’t too happy about that. And my breasts were just mildly sore. I understand that it takes a little bit to get the pill used to your system, but after that month phase, things got a lot better. My acne got better, and all the bad symptoms were gone. And everything was normal. Short period, no spotting, and not pregnant, thankfully. I’m about to finish my third month, but I decided to get a new brand because my vagina developed an odor and a lot different due to the pills, and it was making sexual intercourse not as fun. That is the only symptom I had in the end."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I took this starting my junior year in high school back in 2014, was on it for about 6 years, then got off it, recently started it again back in December 2021, it's been 3 months taking it, my acne is cleared sometimes. I can't seem to shake the soreness in my breasts and I seem to spot a lot. I am not sure if it's because as I get older my body changes. But since I started again, I've been a little moody, tired, and when I wake up, I feel super bloated and heavy and just discomfort in my stomach. My OBGYN said to stay on the pack and after 3 packs my body should get used to it, but I feel as if it's not changing. When I started it back in 2014, I never had any problems, but now I seem to have the side effects and I am not sure if I should stay on it in hopes they stop or try something else. I have not gained weight, but in my breasts, I did."

For Birth Control "The pill I have taken has so far made me depressed, tired, feel ill, and moody. I’ve had a lot of headaches in the first week of having it. I am bleeding really heavily and have the worst cramps and have taken paracetamol (acetaminophen), and it hadn’t helped, it only helped for about an hour, and then they came back. I would not recommend it. I have now stopped taking them today because the bleeding is so heavy, and it also says to see a doctor for bleeding and cramping a lot. Heaps of the reviews say the same. I have hated my time on it and wouldn’t recommend it at all. Some women may be different, but this is my personal experience on it."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "Since I have been on it less than a month, my breasts are painfully tender as well as HUGE. I'm extremely moody and bitchy, weight gain/bloated, not sure which, nausea, 0 sex drive. The only good side is I'm extremely project-oriented and on task."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol "I went on the pill for my skin 5 years ago. I struggled with very dry skin and acne. I never noticed a change in my behavior, I do get a little moody during my period, but I feel like that’s normal. Before going on Kariva, my periods were long, painful, and heavy. I noticed once I went on the pill, I had short, light, and manageable periods. I could always expect what week/day I’d be getting my period. I’m not sure if I gained weight because I was only 14 when I started. I do always wonder if I got off Kariva if I would lose weight (although I’m already slim). I wouldn’t say this pill affects my sex drive, but again I was on the pill before I was sexually active, so I’m not sure. Overall, I would recommend this birth control for people who have dry, flaky skin. Everyone’s body acts differently, but this pill has never made me anxious and/or depressed. I would definitely recommend this to people who are starting out or people who have preexisting problems with their skin."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I'm 22 and weigh 110 lbs. My dosage for Juleber was 0.15. I didn't ever get pregnant on Juleber or get acne or weight gain. The only negative thing that happened was I was extremely moody. The week before my period, I was extremely emotional, and during my period, I was also really emotional. Other than that, it was a good BC."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "Having been on birth control for almost 4 years and Isibloom for 1, I really never had many changes. Absolutely helps my heaviness, constant period schedule, and makes sex less painful and more enjoyable (I have endometriosis). It does exactly what it’s supposed to do, it’s birth control. If anything, my moodiness got better after switching to this brand, but it’s definitely not perfect, and I don’t expect it to be because that’s what birth control does. You just have to weigh your personal pros and cons."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I’ve been on this pill for about two years, and to be completely honest, it has made me a crazy person. The only side effect I’ve had is how much it affects my mood. It made me super irritable and emotional on top of an insane amount of anxiety. I’ve even been put on a few different anxiety medications in the past two years. After a conversation with my doctor and doing a little research, I will be switching to a different form of BC. Not once did I think the pill was the issue."

For Birth Control "I've been taking my desogestrel and ethinyl pill for about 2 weeks. I've been moody, angry, and feel like crying most of the time. I've spoken to some people, but they said I’ll be fine, it’s just my body getting used to it. I’m having unprotected sex most of the time. I haven’t had weight gain yet! Just snap at everyone and everything, and I’m very tired taking it."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol "My RE (reproductive endocrinologist) just put me on Isibloom this week for our upcoming frozen embryo transfer. I also was prescribed this during our last IVF cycle for 2 months and had the absolute worst experience. Last time I spotted or bled the entire time and felt emotionally unstable, lol. This time I’ve noticed some nausea, moodiness, and general fatigue, but hopefully it’ll get better after this first week and the spotting and bleeding will stay away. As with everything, it will have its good and bad side effects, but seems to do its job for what we’ve needed it for."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I have been on Apri for 2 1/2 weeks, and it has instantly made my hair fall out. I never had my hair literally come out of my scalp ever, and I know it's from the birth control. My baby is almost 4 months old, and prior to taking Apri, I was on Camilia, which made me have a non-stop period and no sex drive. With Apri, I've noticed I'm moodier, no sex drive, depressed, suicidal thoughts, all of which I have NEVER had any of these problems. I know it's this birth control because I'm not on any other medications. Monday, I am calling my doctor so she can put me on something else. I know this pill can work wonders for others, but everyone's body is different."

For Birth Control "Wow, I don’t even know where to start with this one. This is probably the 6th or 7th birth control I have tried, and my periods have been the WORST I’ve ever had. When I say painful, I mean writhing around in bed, painful. Waking me up at 5 a.m. for 3 nights in a row, painful. Painful the week before and the week after I bleed, painful. Super moody, emotional, and not fun. Super heavy bleeding in the mornings and then blood-free for the rest of the day. I take this because my body doesn’t like estrogen. On to the patch next, I guess...."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I started Isibloom 3 months ago for constant cramping. The first month was kind of bad considering I couldn't touch my boobs at all. They grew a cup size and hurt so bad to the point that I couldn't wear a bra. My first period lasted one singular day, and it was very strange, to say the least (I'll spare you the details). After the first month, I was fine. I was finally not hurting anymore, and I had a normal period the second month. Now we are halfway into month 3, and my boyfriend is about ready to get rid of me. We have been together for 3 years, he knows when I'm not myself. I have been extremely moody and not just with anger, I cannot for the life of me stop crying. I have been depressed for the last couple of weeks, and even though I have a history of depression and anxiety, I know it's caused by this pill. I haven't had this many episodes since before I met my boyfriend. It has been really hard on our relationship, so I am done taking this medicine. Hopefully, there is another route."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "This pill has worked pretty well for me. I’m 18, and I’ve had problems with my periods being very painful until I got on this pill. My period has shortened to 3-4 days and comes every 28 days. The one downside about this pill is it made me very moody and depressed for a while when I first started it."

For Birth Control "I took Azurette for one week, and I had to stop. I was nauseous constantly! All day and night. I had no appetite, was tired, constipated, moody, and had severe itching around my vulva. The itching stopped two days after I took the last pill, but the rest of the symptoms are still strong, and I haven't taken a pill since Friday. When does it stop?"

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "If you start getting moody, stop taking this medication immediately. I was on this BCP for exactly 1 month, and I developed a stroke (the hospital categorized it as a seizure) where I couldn't remember my name and had to redevelop my speech and writing. The day after the hospitalization, I developed mono from my weakened immune system and slept for 24 hours straight. Do not take BCP in general."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "For the 3 years I was on it, I had ravenous hunger, low blood sugar crashes, low libido, stress, and anxiety. I had just quit smoking and wasn't used to eating instead of having a cigarette. I started on Ortho Lo. I thought I was just stressed with finishing school, but the moodiness didn't stop, so after a few months, they put me on Reclipsen. The nurse told me it was her favorite one and I wouldn't feel a thing because it was a monophase and wouldn't make my hormones jump around... like they are supposed to naturally a few times per month. Looking back, I just wish I had realized it wasn't 'me handling life so weak and vulnerable.' It was the pill. Hormones cause feelings. Birth control pills have fake hormones!"

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I have been using Apri for 3 months, and I have gained 10 pounds. I am vegan and eat very healthy, so it cannot be due to my alimentation. Also, I have been extremely moody. I am switching back to my old birth control. I do not recommend using it unless you don't mind being fat. Ugh."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "Before I start my period, I get cramps, acne, and I'm very moody on this pill. My sex drive is usually very high. This is the only pill I've ever taken, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I don't find it that bad."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I switched to Apri because my insurance company didn't approve Tri Lo Marzia. I got put on birth control because of my heavy periods. After a week on Apri, I started to have migraines every 3 days. I would throw up, and it would make me really moody, and I would cry at the drop of a hat. When we told the insurance company what was going on, they wouldn't pay for the Tri Lo Marzia."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I have been on Apri for about two months. My sex drive is almost completely gone, which causes problems between my fiancé and me. I am also very moody all the time. I'm planning on getting a Mirena instead."
