For Birth Control "I've been on this prescription for a month. It is my first birth control. My period came anyway at its normal time and doesn't seem to be slowing down a week later. I feel an increased sex drive, and I've been very moody (crying at nothing, getting unreasonably angry). Before my period came, I felt extremely nauseous, like I've never felt outside a hangover. It was awful. It's gone now, but if that happens again, I will stop taking it. My skin never broke out like it normally does before the period. One more thing: some of this could be attributed to me not taking them at the same exact time every day. I would do it within a 1- or 2-hour window."

For Birth Control "I've used Reclipsen for 10 months now, and I've only had a few problems. I get a little more moody than I used to, but I feel like moodiness is pretty common anyway. My period is a little heavy on the second day but only lasts 4 days. It is GREAT at preventing pregnancy, it cleared up my acne, didn't gain any weight, and my breasts got bigger! I have, however, had a few urinary tract infections over the past couple of months, they are quite painful but not a deal breaker. Also, not sure if they were due to Reclipsen. Overall, a wonderful experience!"

For Birth Control "This birth control has been a savior for me. After trying two different birth controls (Alesse and NuvaRing), I was losing hope that there was a good BCP out there. But Velivet has been great! I didn't gain any weight, I don't feel any moodier, my acne has cleared up, my periods are lighter. Only complaint (which isn't really one, it's subjective) is that my sex drive is a lot more."

For Birth Control "Worse, worse pill ever!! I was on Isibloom, then insurance changed to Enskyce. It has been 7 weeks on it, and I'm spotting every day, which is horrible for sex life; I'm moody and emotional, which is not like me, and I gained 6 lbs! I'm finishing this pack and requesting my old pill, even if I have to pay more! This is not worth it, and FYI, I take it at the same exact time daily. Oh, and the headaches are daily!! Run from this brand, please."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Isibloom for 3 months now. I’m in a serious relationship, so we thought it’d be a good idea. I didn’t really have that many side effects. The only things that have happened are a little weight gain, moodiness, and, worst of all, the entire time I’ve been on it, I’ve had a dark red discharge. I read that it can happen in the first 3-4 months, so I’m hoping it goes away soon. I’ve just had to wear panty liners every day!"

For Birth Control "I have recently switched to Apri28 from having tried a handful before it. I have been on Yasmin for the past 3 and a half years. Nothing really affected me except that I felt I was getting really moody and would snap for no reason, and I was always a happy person before. So naturally, I wanted a change. I waited a month after coming off of it, and my back and forehead started to break out, which I NEVER had, even before Yasmin, so I started taking Apri right away. Honestly, it took a couple weeks for my body to adjust, but I am clear once again, I feel like myself FINALLY! And I haven't had any problems. My left leg was a little tingly at times after a week or two, but that is gone. Even after only 2 months, I know it was a good choice for me."

For Birth Control "I do not recommend this pill. I have been taking this pill for 2 1/2 months now. The first month put me in the ER because of unbearable pain before and during my period, and I actually shed 3 lots the size of a quarter! My doctor said the pain was because I was experiencing pain similar to the early stages of labor because my cervix had to open to 3 cm to pass the pieces of lining! The second month of pain was barely any better. On top of all of that, I have been severely irritable, depressed, and moody the entire time I’ve been on this pill. After this pill pack, I’m getting off of it - no matter what my doctor says."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for one year exactly, and I mainly went on this for my skin, but I didn't notice anything different with my acne when I was on it compared to when I didn't take birth control. The only thing I can say was that around the time I got my period, my face was the clearest it ever was, and then as soon as my period stopped, I began to break out again. I think with this birth control I did gain weight, probably around 15-20 pounds. It also made me very moody. I never got so upset/mad as easily as I did when I was on this. I felt like an emotional wreck at times because I would get mad so easily, and I hated it. I decided that this birth control, while effective for preventing pregnancies, was not for me."

For Birth Control "I started taking it in December 2017. I felt fine, minor headache here and there. Early February it all went downhill. I always had the lingering headache but dismissed it. I developed hypertension 150/110, high heart rate (130s), palpitations, clammy hands and feet, and extreme migraines in late February. The walk-in clinic dismissed it as migraine. My PCP disregarded it as 'anxiety'-related hypertension. I also developed mood disorders from taking this pill (my doc wanted me on Zoloft). It caused my vitamin D to drop horribly, causing depression-like symptoms coupled with anxiety. My cortisol levels were also high. I saw an endocrinologist who told me to STOP taking it as I had adverse effects that were causing me these horrible symptoms. It's been 1 month since I have stopped, and my anxiety is still lingering. I regret ever starting this medication. It did give me amazing short, painless periods, but my hormones went wonky. I also gained 15 lbs. Take at your own risk."

For Birth Control "Moody, depression, lethargic, weight gain, and overall more emotional. Lost my sex drive completely, and my depression has taken over my life. It’s awful, and I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy. Take anything else. I have been on 7 different types of birth control, and this has been the second to worst, the worst being the Depo-Provera shot. I am getting off of it as quick as I can right now. The only good things about this medication are that it decreased my cramping and cleared up my face in the beginning. Please don’t take this. I felt awful for so long because I was recommended to “wait it out” for 3 months to “get used to it.” I was on it for a year and a half, and nothing has changed. Don’t do it!"

For Endometriosis "I have been taking Apri since April 09. I have endometriosis and was told to either do hormone therapy or go on a different birth control, so I chose the birth control. My periods used to be unbearable, but since starting this pill, my cramps are actually bearable and much lighter! The only downfall is the first 2 weeks of the active pills. I have noticed I am terribly moody, and will cry over anything, which isn't the way I've ever been!"

For Birth Control "I am 42 and have never been on BC for very long. Last attempt, I was on NuvaRing and wound up with a huge clot in my leg after a couple of weeks. The first few weeks were a bit rocky on this one. Felt bloated, a little moody, etc., but I am midway through the second month, and my body has stabilized. I may have had PCOS, definitely had a hormonal imbalance (elevated DHEA-S), and am relieved to no longer have super oily/thinning hair, dark hairs popping up on my chin, and super heavy periods. I was able to get my cycles down to 33 days and more normalized prior to starting, but it is great coming down to 28. Sex drive was good before, but even better. I am a person who does not like pills and is afraid of side effects, but so far the side effects are minimal."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Azurette for 3 years now, and I couldn't have found a better birth control option. It took me maybe a month to get used to, but since then I don't ever have any adverse side effects. The only downside to the pill is on the sugar pill week I tend to be more moody and irritable than normal. However, it has been super effective in preventing pregnancy and regulating my normally horrendous periods that I used to have. My periods are much lighter and bearable. I would definitely recommend Azurette to someone else."

For Birth Control "Wow, oh wow, this medicine, Apri, has messed my body up. To begin, when I began taking it, I thought I was going crazy. My body did not adjust well at all. I was so depressed and moody. I was on Apri from May 2017 to August 2018, and when I stopped taking it, I felt instantly better and happy. My only thing is my periods still have not returned. Again, this was the worst experience ever."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this birth control for four months now. The first was the worst, I was irritable, frequently sad, lethargic, and just overall moody. It cleared up my face and didn't change much in the way of flow on my period but did make them shorter. My sex drive has also decreased, as well as my eating habits. I find myself less hungry, but my breasts have grown in size. Now, four months later, I've been spotting non-stop for the past two weeks, and my face is breaking out in acne that rests under the skin. Going to change my prescription soon, but for a while, it was definitely tolerable."

For Birth Control "I, my boobs got huge on this pill, but as well as them, I also gained extra weight on my hips. I completely lost my sex drive as well, so it is hurting my relationship. As well, it has been making me so moody. I give this drug a 5 because I never got pregnant. However, the side effects were bad."

For Birth Control "I have always used the pill, and so far this birth control has not affected my mood, appetite, or libido negatively. My breasts have gotten larger, which is okay with me. I have been on it a month and plan on sticking to it. Very pleased so far, I had tried several other pills like Tri-Cyclen Lo and the regular Tri-Cyclen and feel Ortho-Cept is much better."

For Birth Control "This medicine has been in my life for 4 months, and in those 4 months, I’ve had the worst decrease in libido. Sex has become undesirable, and it’s impossible to get turned on. Not only that, I’ve been nauseous and moody. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Reclipsen for 3 months (just finished my third package). I was on Yaz for one year, then Lutera, and now am on Reclipsen. Out of the 3, Reclipsen is hands down my favorite. I stopped taking Yaz after reading scary reviews online and hearing negative reviews from other women I know. The side effects I experienced were noticeable. I experienced a lot of spotting between periods, and if I forgot to take the pill at the exact same time every day, my period started right away--sometimes just hours later! Lutera made my fairly clear skin break out and made me EXTREMELY moody and often depressed. The main side effect I have noticed with Reclipsen is breast growth. At least a cup size this last month! (no complaints)."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Reclipsen for a little over four years. From the beginning, I never really had any issues with this birth control. I gained 5-7 lbs within the first few months (not a big deal to me) and had some irregular spotting. Since then, the only side effects were breast tenderness (around my menstrual cycle) and some moodiness during my period. What girl doesn't get moody during that time? Overall, I haven't had any other side effects. I will continue with Reclipsen until otherwise."

For Birth Control "I'm on my second month of Apri, and honestly haven't experienced any side effects. My biggest concern was the whole blood clot issue, but my doctor says I'm low risk and healthy, so I need not worry. Only downfall is you will be moody. Since I read reviews beforehand, I'm in total control of my mood swings since I know it's the birth control making me agitated. Weight gain? None. Boobs? Sometimes they're really tender and heavy feeling. Once I get in the sugar pill week, those feelings subside. Overall, Apri has been good to me."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Apri about two months ago for acne. I am halfway done with the 2nd month. So far, I am having some similar side effects as others have described. I’ve been feeling extremely depressed lately and having anxiety. There are times when I feel withdrawn from activities and just want to be left alone. Also, I notice a lack of appetite due to my recent anxiety, which has resulted in weight loss. I’ve lost about 8 pounds since starting the birth control. As for my acne, it seems to be getting worse. However, I don’t know if the birth control is to blame for my acne since I also recently started using tretinoin and clindamycin. I do plan to continue the pills for at least another month since I know sometimes it can take up to 3 months for these symptoms to go away. I’m really hoping my mood changes because I have never felt this much anxiety and moodiness in my life."

For Birth Control "I took Viorele for approximately 2 years. It worked great for clearing up my cystic acne, and it did its job in preventing pregnancy; however, I’ve noticed the following for the past 2 years: -NO desire to be intimate/NO sex drive. This has hurt my relationship, as I now have sex with my fiancé only once a month, if that! -UNRULY CRAVINGS, which led to 25 lb. weight gain. Currently medically diagnosed with Binge Eating Disorder -moody, irritable, and short-tempered demeanor -increase in anxiety and depression. The only reason I continued to take Viorele was because it was completely free with my insurance, but it’s clearly not worth it. In my opinion, you should definitely consider another BC pill/method!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Isibloom for one cycle. I’ve experienced some side effects including increased appetite (few lbs weight gain), bloating/water retention, tender and swollen breasts— I’ve gone up a bra cup size— really didn’t want to as they’re already too big for my frame... Moodiness, pimples. The only positive is that I get to skip my period, but I am definitely considering stopping the pill. I wish it worked for me, but I don’t think the side effects are worth it."
