For Birth Control "Let me tell you that the first couple of months of Apri were bad. I had trouble sleeping, nausea, very tender breasts, among other things, but the worst part was the depression and anxiety. I would cry pretty much every day for absolutely no reason. I lost a lot of motivation to do anything. It was pretty miserable, but I decided to stick it out for a couple of months hoping that these symptoms would go away, and they did. I’ve now been on this birth control for about 6 months and I am very happy with it. It regulates my period, which is the main reason I went on birth control because my periods were consistently 10 days long and very irregular, sometimes I’d have a 2-week cycle, sometimes 2 months. Now I get a 5-day period, exactly every four weeks, it’s great. I do still get cramps, but they are not as bad as they were before I went on Apri. I would recommend this birth control if you are prepared for a rough first couple of months."

For Birth Control "I used Isibloom for 3 years. I initially got prescribed it at age 16 for hormonal cystic acne, and it immediately perfected my skin. I have not had cystic acne since, and I rarely get pimples. It was great at lightening and regulating my periods to the Wednesday of the placebo week. I did gain weight, but I believe this is not due to the medication and more so to just my body changing for the better over time (I was really skinny, 120 lbs, 5’8 when I started it). The reason I went off it was that I have anxiety, and remembering to take a pill every day was not good for my mental health. My body also did not respond well to the sudden decrease in hormones during the placebo week (I would become very depressed, bloated, and increased anxiety). But again, I did have an anxiety disorder prior to starting this. I switched to Nexplanon, and so far, it has been a lot better for me. But Isibloom is an AMAZING birth control for someone who is alright with taking a pill every day to prevent pregnancy."

For Birth Control "The first couple of weeks were fine. A little increase in anxiety, but manageable. Week 3, I started being moody and just not feeling myself. Feeling nothing at all sometimes, or intense anxiety and/or depression. I figured it was just because my period was coming, but it came and went, and I feel the same. The anxiety can get so bad that I am having panic attacks, which I have not had in YEARS. I am NOT an emotional person, but I can cry in an instant now. I was on my phone laughing at something and then immediately started crying. I have cried more in the past 2 weeks than I have in 6 months, and I just feel like I’m going crazy. It has lightened my cycle and shortened it. I got a lot more cramping than with my normal period, though."

For Birth Control "I used to be all organic for 28 years. I started this birth control and now I’ve been on it for almost a year. I gained an insane amount of weight, 15-20 lbs total. I would have a ravenous appetite, be moody and depressed. Crazy amounts of anxiety and overall unhappiness. I would always be so energized, and this made me lazy and sad. I would have really scary thoughts, losing my self-confidence. The worst part of this drug was finding bald spots in my hair. I have thick, healthy, really long hair, and I felt so sad and heartbroken to find bald spots. I was devastated and decided then and there to stop it. I never want to be on birth control again. I am really scared to ever try this again, I will be using condoms instead. I will highly recommend that no one try this drug, it is unhealthy, and the side effects are just traumatizing. I don’t think this type of drug should be approved by the FDA because of the amount of negative side effects it has on women."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Viorele for a little over two years. I started out with a prescription for Kariva, but CVS gave me the generic version, which is Viorele. I was really impressed at first because my face was very clear and my horrible cramps and backaches from my period went away. After a few months, I gained 20 pounds and 2 cup sizes and became very depressed and anxious. I did not know that Viorele was the cause of this until I went to my doctor. I just switched to a different birth control, and I am waiting to see if there is a difference. Overall, this was great for acne and cramping, but the depression and weight gain were not worth it."

For Birth Control "My doc prescribed this for endometriosis. I've tried other BC pills, and right away they either made me depressed, nauseated, made my period last for weeks, gained weight, breasts ballooned up and were painful, cramps every day, acne, pretty much every awful side effect you can think of. But thankfully NOT on this pill. There have been zero side effects. Maybe for the first week I experienced mood swings at the same time at night when I took the pill, but it didn't last if that was related to it. I only gave it 9 out of 10 because I've just started the second month, and I'm keeping an open mind in case things were to change. But I'm so thrilled with it so far, and I hope it holds up!"

For Birth Control "Unbelievably negative experience here. My natural demeanor is optimistic, easy-going, fun-loving, and happy. Upon the second or third month I was on this birth control, I noticed drastic mood swings, feeling agitated, and being irritable constantly. It felt like out of nowhere, I had serious anger management issues. I blamed a stressful job. I'm now on the seventh month taking this pill, and my zeal for life is completely gone. I am depressed, lethargic, and have terribly dark thoughts about myself, the ones I love, and life in general. That is wildly uncharacteristic of me. The week that I take the sugar pill, I am nearly 100% myself. Within two days of starting my next pack, I'm back in the dark hole. I have also experienced some minor stomach issues, including constant gas/bloating and loss of appetite."

For Birth Control "This pill caused me to feel like I was PMSing all the time, 24/7. Even when things were going great, I was depressed ALL THE TIME. I didn't know why but finally figured out it was the medicine after about 2 weeks of taking it, the symptoms are just not worth it. Plus, it caused my acne to come back and get dry skin, no matter how much lotion I used and what I used."

For Birth Control "On Viorele, I had horrible anxiety and depression after only taking it for a couple of days. It’s been a little over a week now, and it’s already caused me anxiety attacks and problems in my relationships and abdominal cramps. It made me dizzy and feel out of it too. After 9 days, I’m already done, I can’t continue to take it."

For Birth Control "I love Apri. I tried another birth control, and it made me so depressed, but on Apri, I feel just fine. The only problem is that in 18 months on the pill, I have gained about 20 pounds, with very little change in my diet and exercise. It is SO HARD to lose weight on Apri."

For Birth Control "I have attempted this pill once before and have it another go, and I am unhappy with the side effects. I've experienced sore breasts, they have increased in size, severe dry eye, fatigue, depression, increased craving appetite for sugars and carbs than before, like I feel pregnant. I have no drive or desire to exercise or do anything. I feel like a different person :("

For Birth Control "I took this pill for a year and a half before I decided enough was enough. It cleared my face up, and I did not experience tremendous weight gain, but I lost my sex drive and became extremely moody and depressed. I was crying over everything, I was always irritated and angry at my boyfriend, and on top of that, I never wanted him to touch me. I stopped taking the pill about three weeks ago, and I cannot begin to explain the difference that I already feel. I finally feel like my bubbly, lovable self again, and it feels great."

For Birth Control "I've been on three different kinds of birth control. I used this one twice in the past and had horrible experiences. This pill gave me awful depression from the first day of use (both instances). I could only stay on it three weeks the first try and one night the second. If you are someone with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or similar, I would suggest strongly against taking this oral contraceptive. It gave me suicidal thoughts that followed into my dreams. Traumatizing experience. If I could rate it lower, I would."

For Birth Control "This birth control pill has its advantages in the fact that it gives you a very predictable period, and that's it. The side effects outweigh the benefits. I started getting acne at 23 when I hadn't had it for years, my skin became oily, I started getting headaches that persisted all day, my appetite increased, my sleep was disrupted, and I became depressed. The depression is the worst part. I would wake up and be horribly angry or depressed, without cause. I'm switching back to my old birth control."

For Birth Control "Reclipsen pros: prevents pregnancy, clear skin, regular cycles. Cons: weight gain, extreme mood swings, longer periods, depression, nausea, increased appetite, frequent yeast infection/bacterial vaginitis combination. I will find a better match for me. I was taking Reclipsen for about 1 year, then stopped taking it, and all my cons went away. I lost 15 pounds with no change in activity, and my yeast infections and mood swings stopped."

For Birth Control "So I've been on this birth control for 7 months now. It has been awful. I have had nonstop nausea, vomiting, extreme bloating, and mood swings that are horrible. I have also had severe depression and feel constantly sick. Went to the doctor finally. These pills have literally sucked the life out of me. Everyone is different, but I am going to stop taking these, they are horrible for your body. It does its job of preventing pregnancy, but the overall side effects are horrendous."

For Birth Control "I am 20 and have been on this birth control for years. I mean at least 3-4. I can say I have absolutely zero sex drive whatsoever. I didn’t even understand how girls were even interested in sex at my age, or even in the slightest. It made no sense to me. It’s really sucked. I am still on it to this day because I am prescribed Accutane and you have to be on a contraceptive to be on it. I haven’t noticed my skin get any better on this, but I didn’t even know people switched birth controls and have been living in sadness for years. I don’t know if the sadness is from the birth control or not, but it’s also been there for years. I hate these pills with a passion. Don’t be me, who feels like an 80-year-old woman with no sex drive and just feels like general garbage."

For Birth Control "I have been on Isibloom since around October of 2019 (a year and 8 months). I got prescribed the pill through the Pill Clubs online service. My first year was phenomenal! However, around November of 2020, I started having terrible constant nausea. I took several pregnancy tests that all came out negative. Around the same time, my depression became a lot worse, my anxiety was through the roof, everything made me cry, I had a never-ending yeast infection, and I lost all my libido (+ intercourse became painful and uncomfortable). Last week, I stopped my birth control to let my period come (it’s been a few months) and all of a sudden I feel like myself. My libido is back, I no longer feel bloated or nauseous, and my mood swings evened out. My period ended 6 days ago, and I’ve been back on the pill, I’m back to feeling completely terrible! Tonight I’m extremely nauseous and can’t even sleep. I’m going to stop taking it!"

For Birth Control "So I have been on birth control since I was 18. I am now 26. I was on only prescription birth control pills for 7 years. When my last prescription ran out and my family doctor had a 3-month wait, I decided to use the pill club.com, they prescribed me Isibloom. I took it for 1 month and 2 weeks. Let me tell you, if you haven’t already started your pack, DO NOT TAKE THE PILLS. My experience on the 2nd week of taking them was awful. For the 1st month, I was nauseous for weeks! I couldn’t get myself out of bed because it made me so depressed. I only dragged myself out of bed when I had to go to work, and on my days off, I was in bed just restless and so emotional. When I was at work, I had moments I would just cry over the littlest things, and when I was at home with my bf, I would act so bipolar and argue over anything and everything! So now I stopped taking the pills for 3 days, and I am back to feeling normal. DO NOT TAKE THIS BRAND. DO NOT ORDER THEM ONLINE."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this BC for almost 4 months now, and it's been amazing for me. I see a lot of negativity, but everyone is different. I had been previously on several different BC pills, plus before on the Depo shot, and with all the others, I had so many issues: breakthrough bleeding, acne, depression, anxiety, loss of energy, libido, and focus, foggy type feeling. On the last birth control I took, I had severe bleeding for 3 weeks, which caused me to almost pass out several times. As soon as I finished the first pack of Viorele, my symptoms cleared up. I haven't had any issues with this pill except a little acne and gaining some cup size, but I actually lost weight with this pill, which is amazing because with all the others it was impossible. I started taking BC after I had my son and was having 3-month-long periods. This BC has regulated my periods so much, and I have increased energy, focus, and libido."

For Birth Control "I am a 22-year-old, and I was only on Apri for almost three months, and I couldn't handle the effects it was giving me. Before Apri, I was on Tri-Sprintec for like five years, and I had breakthrough bleeding, so my doctor prescribed me this. No joke, just two days after taking it, I started getting migraines, and I fell into depression, and I have never gotten migraines before. Since I was in finals, I had to fight through the effects, but it was not fun. Before getting my period, I would get some strong cramps that felt like someone was stabbing me in my pelvic area, having hot flashes, and wanting to just sleep all day. In addition to this, my discharge started to become heavy; I would have to go to the bathroom to clean myself down there because I felt it leaking; it was not fun. This was my effect on this, and I don't think everyone would get this; this was how my body handled it. Just take precautions and ask your doctor too if this formula is okay for you."

For Birth Control "I was on Quasense for five years, starting when I was 14. I should’ve switched a long time ago. It gave me horrible nausea every time I started a new pack, to the point where I started to stop eating the night I took the first pill along with a nausea pill. It gave me acne, weight gain, and depression. It did NOTHING for my abnormally heavy and painful periods. I switched to Isibloom only a week ago, but I already love it. No nausea, I’ve lost 2 pounds and gained a cup size. I’m giving it a 9 because I haven’t been on it long enough to see what it does for my acne or for my periods!"
