For Atopic Dermatitis "I use Eucrisa for the eczema on my eyes, which gets pretty bad. Eucrisa absolutely burns like acid, a pain that is so bad, it's just 10 minutes of me sobbing. BUT (and BIG emphasis on this) it WORKS. In my experience, overnight my flaking, swollen, and sensitive skin looked so much better. Part of why it burns so much is because your skin has open wounds, so over time as your skin heals, it gets A LOT more bearable. The first time I used this product, I washed it off instantly and refused to use it because of the pain, but then the next time my eczema flared up, I decided to try again. Give this product a chance and try to bear through it because in my experience, it truly helps. Tips: I refrigerate Eucrisa so that it's cold and doesn't burn as much, and I also got an eye mask that you put in the fridge, and I put that on my eyes while they burn, and the coolness helps. I also mix the product with some Aquaphor, and it makes the burning feeling come slower and not as strong."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have been struggling with atopic dermatitis on my eyelids for years. Every winter the air dries up and so do my eyelids and eye crease, leaving my eyes tearful often. I had done Elidel, and though that works over time, I would randomly get very warm eyes and become tearful, which only made it worse! I tried a sample of this stuff, and let me tell you - the burning for the first few minutes is not for the faint of heart. It goes away after just a few minutes, though, and within 10 hours my eyelids were almost completely clear. Use just a little bit at a time and DO NOT JUST LATHER A TON or the burning will be unbearable! Just a pea-sized amount and bite down on a wooden spoon for 90 seconds and it'll be dandy from there!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "I had always had pretty good skin, but all of a sudden in the last 6 months, I developed eczema on my face. The scaly, itchy rash around my lips, eyes, and eyebrows was miserable! My primary care physician gave me a sample of Eucrisa, and I used it once. It burned, and I figured that I had to use it for a while to get results. Meanwhile, I saw a dermatologist who told me he had never seen Eucrisa work for anyone and didn’t give me anything but a referral to an allergist. While trying to schedule with this very specific allergist (specializing in dermatology), I became desperate. I pulled out the tiny tube of Eucrisa and applied it for 3 days. After 6 months of suffering, changing products, applying cortisone cream over and over, etc., I’m FINALLY comfortable again! I don’t think the burning is really that bad, and it goes away after a few uses anyway. I’m so thankful my primary care physician gave me this to try, and I’ll be sure to share my success stories with my dermatologist!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "The last 5 months has been a daily cycle of itching, swelling, blistering, cracking, peeling skin on my hands - a bad outbreak of dyshidrotic eczema. Hydrocortisone didn't work anymore. Face/eyelids started to get red/itchy too. Finally went to the doctor. Got a few days of prednisone, antibiotics, antihistamines, and Eucrisa - I didn't want steroids long-term. The doctor told me to put Vaseline on my hands and wear nitrile gloves. I wore it for more than 6 hours and my hands look better. I used a pea-sized amount of Eucrisa on the back of my hands/palms with a little Vaseline. Barely a tingle. Then I put some on the skin above my lip, that did burn and sting quite a bit for about 20 minutes. I put some on my eyelids, that didn't sting much. 4 hours later, the palms of my hands started to change to a healthy color. Less than 24 hours later and I was able to wash my hands without pain. It healed the cracks in my skin and kept 90% of the itch away. A few more days, there is no burning at all. Skin on my face and neck looks great, almost normal now - 5 days."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have read many negative comments about Eucrisa because of the “burning sensation” when applied. First, blame your dermatologist/physician if they did not inform you of this beforehand. My doctor explained this to me, and I made an informed decision before trying. As a comparison: most people know they will lose their hair as a side effect of chemotherapy; so consider what your current quality of life is... My eczema caused my skin to bleed and weep, including my nipples. I had to use nursing pads and cover my body with various bandages to keep open sores from getting infected and to absorb the weepage. Yes, Eucrisa burned, but I expected that, and it was well worth the sacrifice. My skin started to heal within 2 days. For those paying more than $10 for Eucrisa, check out their website. If you have private insurance, you can get your copayment down to $10. Totally worth the temporary burn."

For Atopic Dermatitis "It stings/burns BAD for a few minutes after putting it on. Brings tears to my eyes, even places that don't have broken skin. Think of a dead sea salt bath and you know what I am writing about. However, I have only had it for a few hours, my doctor gave me a full-size trial, and it seems to REALLY REALLY help with the itch. I had Zyrtec and Allegra on board, and it wasn't touching it. I am waiting, fingers crossed, hoping my insurance will cover it, since it is so new, it will be non-formulary, so out-of-pocket costs will be high. If it gives me relief, it will be worth it. Woman in 40s with lifelong eczema non-diet induced."

For Atopic Dermatitis "It is too soon to give a full review, but beware, I tried this medication on my face and had intense stinging and burning to the point where I had to remove it. I tried to leave it on for 5-7 minutes to see if it would subside, but I did not make it that long. I am not sure if it's because my face was so dry or had broken skin. I am going to try it on other areas of my body and see what results I get. I am currently sitting with a towel and ice packs on my face, so be careful with this ointment!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "I’ve dealt with eczema my entire life, I used steroids for years, which bleached my skin and made me extremely self-conscious. It usually only flares up a couple of times a year in the same spot, but as I got older, it spread to my neck and face. I did not want to use steroid cream, so my doctor prescribed this. Yes, it burns for just a few minutes, but it subsided after a few uses (maybe after the open skin heals?). It has been a lifesaver. I don’t use it every single day, but when my skin is flaring up, it immediately heals within a few days and doesn’t come back. If you can deal with the burning for a couple of days, I highly recommend."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Eucrisa is extremely painful to use. My doctor told me it was okay to use around my eyes, but I could not handle the burning pain. It was so painful that I fell to the floor trying to calm the burning down. My eczema is the same, but I have to ice my eyes to try and get rid of the burning feeling."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Used for eyelid dermatitis. My dermatologist did not warn about the intense stinging/burning sensation upon application. So glad I read these reviews before using, or I would have panicked. Burning went away after about 5 minutes (I only used a tiny amount). The site also got red and irritated looking for about 5 minutes, but then everything calmed down. I believe the dermatitis is better after just two uses."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Please read to the end, it may work this way. I received samples of Eucrisa from my primary care provider for my eczema around my mouth (dry, discolored, scaly). I was very excited to get started, I immediately applied it once home. BURNED... No other word could do it justice. BURNED. I tried to wait it out, I have a high tolerance for things I want. I couldn’t take it, I had to wash it off. The next day, determined to make this work, I applied a thin layer of Aquaphor to and around my lips, then a thin but decent amount of Eucrisa. About a minute in is when I started to feel the start of a burn. It burned, but nowhere near as much as the night before (I also used a handheld fan for about 10 minutes and no more burning). I’m now sitting with Eucrisa and no Aquaphor on day 3 with minor tingling. I believe my skin is healing, and that is why I’m not experiencing the raging fire feeling. Try the Aquaphor under the Eucrisa, guys."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Please, for the love of God, don't use this for skin around your eye. I was given a sample by my doctor because, for some reason, my condition just randomly appeared around my eyelids. I put it around my eyes like I was told, then 15 seconds later, I was hit with the most painful burning sensation I have ever had in my life. I'm a grown man, I have a high pain tolerance as well, and this made me want to scream. I had to rinse it off in the sink. Felt like someone threw battery acid on my face."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have moderate eczema on my neck and chest. I've been on Eucrisa for about 3 days, using it twice a day, and I've noticed a difference and also a decrease in itching. Beware though, it burns for the first 5 minutes if there's any skin that's slightly raw. I was able to push through it, and hopefully as time goes on, the burning will decrease."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Had a random eczema/dermatitis flare-up on my upper left eyelid, right below my eye and my right upper lip (mustache area). Crazy itchy and looked awful. Dealt with it for about 6 months. Tried many different creams from Amazon and even something my derm recommended. Ended up going back to my derm, and they recommended Eucrisa. Like others said, it did burn a bit (I used it sparingly), I just fanned the spots of application, and the burn went away within about 5 mins. (Level 3 to 5 out of 10 pain) the next morning, I applied again, and by the nighttime, it already looked better. Put one more application on that night, and the next day it was 80% better. The burning only occurred the first couple of times. Couldn’t be happier with the results. Literally tried so many different creams. Even carried some in my pocket to control redness and itch. If you're having issues and nothing else is working, YOU MUST TRY THIS. I would recommend applying it in sections if you have bad pain."

For Atopic Dermatitis "My 8-year-old daughter was prescribed Eucrisa by her pediatrician. 1st of all, the price is ridiculous. Why? Secondly, the burning sensation makes me feel awful about using it on her. The doctor said to use it for no more than 2 weeks, then come off for a week. But as soon as I take her off, the flare on her face is right back, sometimes worse than it was before. Been using it for 4 months now. Not seeing the results it states. Want to take her off and go back to hydrocortisone 2% ointment and lotion for her face and triamcinolone for her body. However, I'm leery about how bad the flare will be while waiting for Eucrisa to leave her system. I don't think I'd recommend this med."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Eucrisa did not work at all, in fact, it made my skin a lot worse. I broke out in a horrible rash, as did the only other person I knew who had been given this from their dermatologist for eczema, like I was. It burns and leaves the skin worse than when it started. I do not understand how it is marketed as a miracle fix for eczema. I now understand why my insurance did not want to pay for this."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Wow, I felt crazy until I read all the reviews on here! I’ve had eczema my entire life, but really only in my inner elbows (and flare-ups like seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp). But the past year, I have dealt with horribly intense eczema flare-ups also on my eyelids and around my entire eye. It is debilitating. I’ve been prescribed numerous different steroid creams, been told to change ALL of my products, etc. Nothing works completely (except honestly eating a healthy diet - no matter what my dermatologist says!). So she gave me a tiny sample of Eucrisa, and I put it on my eyelid. The second I did, it was the most excruciating stinging burning I have EVER felt in my life. I’m a grown woman, and I actually started screaming and crying, did not know what to do, and it wouldn’t stop!! I had to hop in the shower, wash it off, and hold a wet rag against my eye for 15 min as I tried to stop crying! No joke, do NOT use this product on or near your eye area!!!!!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "This is an end-all cure-all for me. I have struggled with eczema my whole life. I had it really badly as a child, but it came back worse as an adult. Two years ago, I got an eczema rash so bad on my face my eyes swelled shut with scales. I looked like a lizard. I tried steroid creams, lotions, literally anything recommended. Nothing worked. I went to the doctor, and they gave me a test tube of Eucrisa. Within two days, all my eczema was gone. Anytime I get a flare-up now, I just put a little bit on, and it’s gone in a week tops. The only downside is the pain. I’m not going to lie, this stuff BURNS. It feels like your skin is on fire. It makes me cry every time. However, since my eczema is on my face, I tolerate the pain. I’m not sure if a child could though."

For Atopic Dermatitis "This ointment creates a very intense burning/stinging sensation, difficult for me as an adult to tolerate. I suffered through the first application, the next day, the second application was even more intense, and I had to wash it off. PLEASE NEVER USE THIS PRODUCT ON A CHILD!!! The pain is too intense."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I've had horrible eczema around my eyes for over 10 years. Using steroid creams resulted in cataract surgery in my right eye, and also the constant rubbing increased my astigmatism. I was worried about permanent vision loss. Started using Eucrisa, and in two weeks have seen a dramatic improvement! The skin, for the first time in 10 years, is almost back to normal. The itching and oozing are almost gone. The trick is to use very small amounts of the cream and rub it into the skin, especially in the most affected regions. There is some initial burning sensation, but even that has diminished as the skin heals. This medication is truly a godsend."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have always been prescribed a mild steroid for my facial eczema, so I was happy to try Eucrisa as a steroid-free treatment for my face. The stinging and burning are so uncomfortable that I'm not sure the results are worth it for me. The medication does help calm down flare-ups and reduce any itching, but the pain for the first 5 minutes after application is so severe on my face that sometimes I have to just wash it off and try the next day. The site pain on the body is way more tolerable, and I do recommend it for that! Maybe my face is just too sensitive, but I'm going to keep trying."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have severe dyshidrosis eczema on my hands. I have used Clobetasol for years, but my insurance company decided it would no longer pay for it. So my doctor prescribed Eucrisa. My insurance actually agreed to pay $750.00 for a 60g tube of this. (Even though Clobetasol is half the cost.) There was some pretty intense burning initially, but it only lasted a few minutes. I'm on day 4 of treatment, and my hands are almost completely clear. They haven't been clear in almost 6 years!!!! No other medication has EVER worked as well as this does. I'm amazed! Still - it's so expensive that only people with good insurance can afford it. My co-pay was $40.00. And even though that's pricey for a tube of ointment, it's worth it!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "So I’ve had eczema problems my whole life, and I had gotten “rid” of it for some time, and then I had flare-ups on my eyelids, and it was bad. I looked like a monster as it spread. I used the sample size of this stuff, and it burned so bad (which I was warned of). I didn’t know if it was worth it, but then it was. It was completely gone in a week, and the better my condition, the less it burned until not at all. 100% would recommend, it works too well :)"

For Atopic Dermatitis "Oh my, oh my, oh my. So, I have eczema on my eyelids and around my mouth. I was lucky enough to get this cream as a sample from my doctor today. Imagine heating a butter knife with a blowtorch until it is glowing orange, then gouging out your eyeballs with it. Comes close to the vomit-inducing pain this cream provides. I made my husband try it because it was only fair... it did nothing at all. Maybe it only burns if you have eczema, I don't know. Not sure I can do this again."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Have only used this for a few days, but I plan on continuing to use it for the next few months. Will give another update at that point. This drug has cleared up the eczema on my face and neck that was honestly quite severe before using the treatment. I have been using it for three days, and it is probably 90% cleared. YES, IT DOES BURN. I have found that the burning has become much less intense by day three. I think part of that has to do with the fact that my skin is much less irritated and inflamed than when I originally applied. Like I said, I will update the long-term efficacy in a few months."
