For Atopic Dermatitis "After 4 months of a flare-up and exhausting all my usual options: cortisones, antifungals, antibacterial, and herbal, I went to urgent care. The poor GP didn't know what to do with me. My eyes were red, peeling, and swollen. I had a red scaly ring around my mouth with flushing everywhere else. His recommendation was to do nothing for 2 weeks. I had used so many combinations of treatment, he wouldn't know where to start. He had some Eucrisa samples. He warned me about the sting, advised me to use an emollient first. Well, did I listen? No, I applied it in the car on the way home. The stinging was so bad I had to pull over. The good news was that by the time I got home, I saw an immediate improvement! I have been using it now for a week, and I have had great results. It does still sting a bit, but it is interesting that it only stings the affected areas. My vote is to get past the burn using Vaseline because it is worth it. Side note: I don't know how a child would deal with the pain."

For Atopic Dermatitis "The last 5 months has been a daily cycle of itching, swelling, blistering, cracking, peeling skin on my hands - a bad outbreak of dyshidrotic eczema. Hydrocortisone didn't work anymore. Face/eyelids started to get red/itchy too. Finally went to the doctor. Got a few days of prednisone, antibiotics, antihistamines, and Eucrisa - I didn't want steroids long-term. The doctor told me to put Vaseline on my hands and wear nitrile gloves. I wore it for more than 6 hours and my hands look better. I used a pea-sized amount of Eucrisa on the back of my hands/palms with a little Vaseline. Barely a tingle. Then I put some on the skin above my lip, that did burn and sting quite a bit for about 20 minutes. I put some on my eyelids, that didn't sting much. 4 hours later, the palms of my hands started to change to a healthy color. Less than 24 hours later and I was able to wash my hands without pain. It healed the cracks in my skin and kept 90% of the itch away. A few more days, there is no burning at all. Skin on my face and neck looks great, almost normal now - 5 days."

For Atopic Dermatitis "It stings/burns BAD for a few minutes after putting it on. Brings tears to my eyes, even places that don't have broken skin. Think of a dead sea salt bath and you know what I am writing about. However, I have only had it for a few hours, my doctor gave me a full-size trial, and it seems to REALLY REALLY help with the itch. I had Zyrtec and Allegra on board, and it wasn't touching it. I am waiting, fingers crossed, hoping my insurance will cover it, since it is so new, it will be non-formulary, so out-of-pocket costs will be high. If it gives me relief, it will be worth it. Woman in 40s with lifelong eczema non-diet induced."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Used for eyelid dermatitis. My dermatologist did not warn about the intense stinging/burning sensation upon application. So glad I read these reviews before using, or I would have panicked. Burning went away after about 5 minutes (I only used a tiny amount). The site also got red and irritated looking for about 5 minutes, but then everything calmed down. I believe the dermatitis is better after just two uses."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Not only have I had eczema my whole life, but I’m allergic to a million things, and my allergic reactions cause extremely painful dermatitis all over my skin. Most topical medicines I’ve been allergic to, and steroids made it worse. Eucrisa works like magic for me. Clears rashes up overnight, gives so much pain relief, clears up any damaged skin. It does wonders. The catch: it stings, horribly, for around ten minutes. Putting this medicine on open/newly damaged skin is quite possibly one of the worst pains I’ve ever felt, and applying this medicine can bring me to tears sometimes. However, the good of this medicine does outweigh the bad, so the pain is simply something I live with."

For Atopic Dermatitis "If you have eczema, you know all about the misery that comes with it. I tried oral steroids and extra strength antibacterial ointments, which worked until they were no longer in my system. I was able to try Eucrisa as a free trial. It's been a week, and my skin is considerably less cracked. I haven't taken an antihistamine in about 3 days because the itching has almost subsided. And I've been able to actually sleep for the last 4 nights. There's some stinging, but that has diminished with continued use. I'm not itching, which means no scratching and a chance to actually heal. So far, I'm very thankful for a break from the headache and stress and for the sleep. Hope this is lasting, though... can't pay $700 for the next tube."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I was recommended to try the Eucrisa ointment by my dermatologist after suffering from severe eczema since birth. The cream stings a little as I apply it around my mouth, but it seems to be working so far. I'm going to update my comment in a week and see what happens. I would say to give it a try. Just apply a thin layer on the face with caution."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Wow, I felt crazy until I read all the reviews on here! I’ve had eczema my entire life, but really only in my inner elbows (and flare-ups like seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp). But the past year, I have dealt with horribly intense eczema flare-ups also on my eyelids and around my entire eye. It is debilitating. I’ve been prescribed numerous different steroid creams, been told to change ALL of my products, etc. Nothing works completely (except honestly eating a healthy diet - no matter what my dermatologist says!). So she gave me a tiny sample of Eucrisa, and I put it on my eyelid. The second I did, it was the most excruciating stinging burning I have EVER felt in my life. I’m a grown woman, and I actually started screaming and crying, did not know what to do, and it wouldn’t stop!! I had to hop in the shower, wash it off, and hold a wet rag against my eye for 15 min as I tried to stop crying! No joke, do NOT use this product on or near your eye area!!!!!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "This ointment creates a very intense burning/stinging sensation, difficult for me as an adult to tolerate. I suffered through the first application, the next day, the second application was even more intense, and I had to wash it off. PLEASE NEVER USE THIS PRODUCT ON A CHILD!!! The pain is too intense."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have always been prescribed a mild steroid for my facial eczema, so I was happy to try Eucrisa as a steroid-free treatment for my face. The stinging and burning are so uncomfortable that I'm not sure the results are worth it for me. The medication does help calm down flare-ups and reduce any itching, but the pain for the first 5 minutes after application is so severe on my face that sometimes I have to just wash it off and try the next day. The site pain on the body is way more tolerable, and I do recommend it for that! Maybe my face is just too sensitive, but I'm going to keep trying."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have been dealing with eczema my whole life. The last few years have been really hard. I had a really bad flare-up this winter. My allergist gave me samples of Eucrisa. At first, it did not hurt when applied. Now, when applied, it stings like hot sauce. It has worked great on my face and fingers. However, my ENTIRE upper body is now covered in eczema. From my ribs to the top of my neck and down to my wrists is covered in the rash. It had spread to areas that I never used it on, and my eczema wasn't too bad before. I am giving more than one star because it has worked on some of my skin. I just don't know if it is worth the risk to try it. I would suggest trying it for a long time in very small sections."

For Atopic Dermatitis "This drug is AMAZING! I've struggled with dermatitis triggered by soap (shampoo, hand soap, dish soap, etc.), and no matter how much I avoid soap, I still have remaining patches of dry, flaky, irritated, painful red areas on my face near my mouth and eyes. I read the reviews and was hesitant to try Eucrisa but was desperate. I was afraid it would burn, but rather, it stung lightly, and while initially uncomfortable, the stinging went away fairly quickly. My plan was to only apply a very small amount (like patch testing) before jumping in to applying to the whole area. But once I realized it was minimal stinging, I started applying all over. And I'm seeing results quickly-the painful swelling and flaking is reducing already, after only a few days. I am blessed to have insurance to cover this, but after the years of pain and struggling, I would definitely pay out of pocket for this. I highly recommend trying it."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I am experiencing eczema or atopic dermatitis on my hands and eyelids. This is recent, just started this year. I’ve had one on the back of my lower scalp since 2004. I’m older, 58 years old now. But like I said, just this year I have had issues with my hands and eyelids. Eyelids are bothering me the most. My dermatologist recommended Eucrisa for both my hands after I used a steroid on them, plus for my eyelids. She also prescribed Eletone for my eyelids to use first. Eletone has parabens, and I’m allergic to them. So it hasn’t worked well. I went ahead and tried Eucrisa, which fortunately my insurance accepted. I still need to use more, but so far, so good. I was worried initially as it does sting and burn like hot sauce. But that only lasts about 10-15 minutes. I read up on it, and it seems to be a normal reaction and not an issue. My eyelids are feeling much better. Hopefully, inflammation will go away too. It says it can take up to 30 days. I’m going to give it a go!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have had horrible psoriasis for over 5 years on my hands. I have tried every steroid cream to no avail. The psoriasis covered the palms of both of my hands and was very painful, with constant fissures. Within 1 day of using Eucrisa, there was a noticeable difference. I have now been using it for a week, and I feel like a new person. I have experienced no stinging or pain, and the results are a miracle. This is the first time I have seen any improvement with a treatment for my psoriasis."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I’ve had eczema on my face for about 11 years now. The doctor prescribed steroid creams and pills, which had their drawbacks. So they decided to give me Eucrisa, and in all honesty, it helped. It stings a lot on even just the smallest cuts from light scratching, but it helps. Try to mix it with Vaseline to dilute it (stinging) and to help moisturize your skin. It sucks to have eczema, especially on the face because it's exposed to constant environmental change. So it flares up the most for me during weather changes."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I used this around my eyes, and it burned to the point of being unbearable. My doctor told me to do a patch test prior to putting it on my eyes, and the patch test didn’t burn, but as soon as it touched my eyes, I felt the strongest stinging sensation. I have a small eczema patch on my forehead, and it helps with that, but no more than my normal steroid-free eczema cream. I am taking an oral steroid to calm the reaction on my eyes and using Eucerin Baby Eczema Relief to help soothe the dryness. Together, they have significantly improved the puffiness and skin-splitting dryness I was experiencing for many weeks. Unless you can get a free sample from your doctor to try this out, I would suggest steering clear of purchasing this product for use anywhere near the eyes."

For Atopic Dermatitis "My 5-year-old daughter has battled mild eczema since she has been born. She has been on a mid-level steroid cream. I never realized the potential harm that can come with repeated use of a steroid cream, such as hypopigmentation and skin atrophy. When Eucrisa came into the market, it was an absolute no-brainer for us to ask to be switched to this new steroid-free option! This medication has been amazing. My daughter sees quick results, and I can feel safe knowing that there is no limit on the duration of use unlike the steroid cream where we had to stop use after 10-14 days of use! My daughter has mentioned a little bit of burning and stinging on a few occasions, but it has gone away and is an afterthought within 5 minutes! Having an effective and safe treatment available has been overwhelmingly welcomed in our home! Thank you, Pfizer!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "This definitely seems to help my eczema. Think I've been able to come up with a way to stop the burning sensation when applying it. I mix 1 part of Eucrisa with about 3 parts of Aquaphor ointment on the palm of my hand, then stir it all in and then apply the mixture to my affected areas (face, arms). There is hardly any stinging, but the medication still seems to work at a lower level for several hours as the cream is absorbed into the skin. Another way to reduce the burning is to apply very small amounts of Eucrisa on the affected areas. Good luck!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "Today is the first time I am using it, the first time I put it on my face thick like I used to do with triamcinolone, but that stung so bad I had to run and wash it off. After reading these reviews, I decided to give it another shot, but this time I applied the thinnest layer possible, and it didn't sting at all, so I'm happy so far."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I started using this 3 days ago for what I have been told is eczema on my face. The first time I used it, my face got itchy beyond belief. I was actually looking forward to a sensation other than being itchy all the time. The sensation of burning and stinging sounded good for a change. I guess it's too soon to really rate it, but so far, my skin is smooth, but it still itches."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I am 57 and have suffered from eczema my whole life. I am allergic to everything and have constant itching on my face mostly. Sometimes I cannot figure out what has triggered it when it gets worse. I have used steroid creams regularly for the last 40 years, and when extremely bad, they will put me on prednisone, which is awesome until it comes back soon after I am off the medicine. I have been using Eucrisa now for a week. It really stung at first, but fingers crossed, my eczema is MUCH better, and it feels like there are a couple of new layers of skin on my face... Hoping."

That cleared up much of my scalp sores, but not my face, which looked like a war zone with raw sores. 2nd part, Eucrisa... wow. At first, it would sting when I put it on, then in no time (maybe a week), no sting. My face has cleared up, and my scalp has remained clear. I was lucky to get a sample size med."
