"I’ve been taking this for 12 years for anxiety and panic disorder. Have been on 1 mg per day and never increased the dose. Have tried every single SSRI and SNRI with only minimal improvement. If I need to be on this for the rest of my life in order to function normally, then so be it. I had a traumatic childhood with my mom dying of cancer when I was very young and never received therapy as a kid. This is the only drug that has really helped me, and I’m so grateful for it. It’s probably kept me alive so that I can be around for my own daughter."

"I was diagnosed with dysautonomia 25 years ago. These days, it’s sometimes referred to as POTS, but they’re not the same thing. I weigh 100 lbs, am 73 years old, and take 1 mg of Klonopin at bedtime. Without it, I would wake up multiple times during the night. It works for me. I don’t have side effects, to my knowledge. My dose has stayed the same during all the years. Unless I have a specific reason to stop, I’ll stay on it."

"I was diagnosed with bipolar II when I was about thirty. Panic attacks and episodes of mania are just a given aspect of the disorder. Clonazepam has effectively helped me to manage such episodes in a timely manner, usually about 15 minutes for it to kick in. They can also aid with sleeping when suffering from insomnia. I do not take them every day but only when needed. Since I have had them for a prolonged period of time, my dosage has had to be increased because my body did get used to them, but they are the most useful pill that I have to help manage my symptoms that I don't have to take daily."

For Panic Disorder "Klonopin saved my life. It’s a shame because some people like myself who have severe anxiety and panic attacks may need a benzo. Doctors force SSRIs down everyone’s throat when we know no antidepressant is stopping a bad panic attack. I don't really care if I am on it the rest of my life. That's mine and my doctor's opinion on it. I'd much rather live a life worth living than suffer for the rest of my life in the dark world I was in before medicine. It is addicting, can be abused, and a tolerance will be met if you take them every day. I have epilepsy so my neurologist wants me on it too. Only advice I can offer is to try and take them as needed if you can. It will work a lot better when you don't take it every day. Best of luck! Don't ever give up."

For Panic Disorder "I have taken varying doses of clonazepam for almost 30 years. Some of those years I took none at all. As a highly anxious person in general, I was scared to even try it for fear of addiction, withdrawal, etc. But after a particularly bad panic attack where I felt I was going to lose my mind, I asked my psychiatrist for Klonopin, because several people in my family have used it with great success. It is the very best benzo I have tried for anxiety and panic; it has a long half-life, which means (for me) that when I finally clear it, I am so far removed from the anxiety or panic-inducing thoughts that I don't simply just fall back into the abyss. I have a deep and abiding respect for this drug, as it has arrested several near falls into runaway anxiety that always leads me to my most feared outcome: a major depressive episode. You can take it sublingually for quicker effect; it has a sweet, benign taste."

For Panic Disorder "Was placed on this about 18 years ago and was kept given refills. Had no warning of the addictive nature of Klonopin. Became dependent and had a relapse during an improper taper my psych put me on. Have akathisia for eight years now and am fully disabled thanks to the carelessness surrounding this drug."

For Seizure Prevention "This medicine is for short-term use, not long-term. Around 2016, a black box label was placed on this medication. In the past, I went through withdrawals because I did not have the proper doctor. I live with protracted withdrawals, a.k.a. PAWS. I went through depersonalization. It was and still is a living nightmare. Want the truth about Klonopin? I would suggest that before anyone starts taking this medication, read the Ashton Manual. You can find it online and can read all about how this medication has negative side effects. I wish I would have known what I know now years ago. People don't have any idea what this medication can do. I had a seizure and came close to death. Having a doctor is very important, one that will work with you. Let me make this clear: all of my medicine was written by a professional doctor. PAWS effects can last forever, depending on how long you have been on this medication. Research is the key word."

For Panic Disorder "Best medication ever! I’ve been on it since I was 18, and I’m 47 today. Never had to increase the dose and have been taking 1 mg, 2 times a day, and was doing amazing. Then, one day, I was late for an appointment and got discharged from my doctor's office and found a new therapist, but she put me on Buspar (buspirone) 15 mg, and it is awful. It is making me miserable and unhealthy and many other things that I cannot talk about, but I never thought I’d ever say this, but it’s been almost 45 days, and I really miss KLONOPIN."

"My sister and brother were helped by Klonopin due to having depression and PTSD anxiety. After having suffered from severe leg pain due to my need for back surgery, I had a severe anxiety/panic attack that went on for 3 days, and I needed serious help or I couldn’t continue working through my constant pain. I was originally prescribed Xanax, which worked well, but still gave me too much of a high and then a low that followed, which I didn’t like. My wife found articles about Xanax that showed that it was super addictive, so I changed to Klonopin for those 2 reasons. After being prescribed Klonopin and it finally balanced my mood and life, even though my back and hip pain have been constant, even after 4 back surgeries and 20 years, my doctor recently changed my anxiety med while I went on a weekend vacation. But, after ruining my vacation with a drug that did nothing for me, I spent my weekend in extreme anxiety. My doctor immediately put me back on Klonopin. No issues since."

For Panic Disorder "Only medication that gave me my life back by taking away my panic attacks from panic disorder. I've tried every other benzodiazepine and SSRI combination. Klonopin is the most effective and efficient for me. 1 mg three times daily. Very easy to take. No negative side effects."

"I have been taking Klonopin for over fifteen years. It worked well for about ten years on my sleep disorder. Now I am 63 years old, and I wish I had taken a different path. I feel like a zombie, irritated, bored, losing my family, depressed, and it’s not easy to stop. I have tried to get off gradually without success. I am on my third try and have been told to take six months or longer to succeed."

For Panic Disorder "I don’t know how many years ago that I suffered from a severe panic attack, but I can say it’s an awful experience and something I will never forget. I felt like an impending sense of doom come over me, my heart was racing, I’m pretty sure I was hyperventilating, felt like I was dying. The next day, I was in my general practitioner’s office, and he prescribed 2mg at bedtime and 1mg if needed. Rarely do I take the as needed, as this drug keeps me on an even keel. I’m pretty sure I’ve had small panic attacks, if there is such a thing, but overall this drug has treated me well. Thank you, Klonopin."

For Panic Disorder "Klonopin is a lifesaver when anxiety sends my blood pressure sky-high. It also helps me sleep. I am 73 and suffer from the sleep disorders that bedevil the aging. I have acid reflux, and it calms my dry coughing. The arthritis that makes my legs ache is also lessened by Klonopin. Klonopin is a miracle drug as far as I am concerned, and I am so grateful for it."

"I have several physiological disorders: general anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, PTSD, epilepsy, and bipolar disorder. I suffered for the first 40 years of my life. I have been on Klonopin for 21 years. Each one of my disorders is virtually resolved. Initially, my general practitioner administered 3 mg daily. Ten years later, only psychiatrists can prescribe Klonopin, consequently, my dose was reduced to 2 mg per day. Currently, I receive only 1 mg per day. Medical care should be based on medical needs only. Unfortunately, politics, insurance, and pharmacy dominate the medical landscape. Benzos are by far the most effective for chemical imbalance-related illnesses, but misinformation and profit are prevalent. Doctors push these other impotent, profiteering drugs to avoid scrutiny. For now, I am functioning reasonably well on the 1 mg, but without it, I am certain I would experience complete regression. Something must be done to save the future of this wonder drug. I do not and have never used alcohol or illicit drugs. Klonopin is the only drug I take."

For Panic Disorder "I thought I was going to be on this medication for life. For some reason, I went off of it at a rehab clinic. I'm not so lucky since I don't take methadone. What am I supposed to do for the panic attacks? I was told to take a deep breath from my diaphragm. Get off this stuff if you just started it."

For Panic Disorder "Ok, here goes. Klonopin is by far the best drug for anxiety, period, for me. Everyone is different, of course, and I have never felt the need to take more than necessary. In fact, I always try to take less. SSRIs did nothing for me, in fact, they made me more anxious. Any drug, if taken too much or abused, can cause serious issues. Also, keep in mind who your reviewers are - me included. Most people who have a bad experience will review, good experiences don't even think about writing a review. I think the ratings would be closer to 9.5 if everyone took the time to write a positive review. As we all know, people are more likely to comment when they have negative outcomes, and that’s understandable. People who take this medication also tend to have anxiety, panic, GAD like myself, and can be very in touch with every perceived symptom within their body. In my opinion, way more than the average Joe walking down the street. In other words, take these reviews for what they are worth - a single person's opinion, and often a person who is suffering to find anything that will make them feel better."

For Panic Disorder "I have had anxiety and depression for many years. When I returned from service almost 50 years ago, I had raging panic attacks and agoraphobia. I overcame the agoraphobia and panic attacks through talk therapy, since the Stelazine the clinic gave me made life a living nightmare. I still had anxiety and depression, and about 20 years ago, I was diagnosed with moderate to severe OCD. I have been treated with cognitive therapy, bupropion, and Zoloft successfully. When I have very occasional anxiety that I am unable to control, I have 1 mg Klonopin from my psychiatrist. It works every time. Oddly, I don't feel a calming effect. Instead, I realize that I feel 'normal.' My experience with Klonopin has been positive, probably because I take a dose very occasionally."

For Panic Disorder "This drug, even at a medium to low dose, once given - is nearly impossible to stop taking. I for one have no desire to ever stop taking it. It gave me relief at 33 years old from a life of nonstop anxiety. It was godsend. However, the issue lies within the medical profession in different regions of the country. I have relocated 9 times in 15 years for work. 9 times, I was told no, we cannot prescribe a controlled substance to a new patient regardless of Dr. records showing I’d been taking Klonopin for years. I literally have been shut down at the window at a new Dr. office, ERs have made me feel humiliated, previous Drs. can’t call in controlled substances across state lines - NINE TIMES I have had to go through the absolute worst nightmare of withdrawals I have ever experienced. Because the medical profession turned their back on me. And continues. I am terrified to move because this will happen again."
