"I've been taking clonazepam for the last 8 years, and it is very effective for anxiety. I was unable to walk and go places and felt scared to stand and walk due to anxiety. I am taking this medicine and enjoying my work and life."

Clonazepam "Been taking benzodiazepines for nearly 10 years now. Started with 1mg of Lorazepam once daily, but it stopped working after about 2 years. I got prescribed Clonazepam 1mg twice daily. Worked like a charm for 5 years, then stopped having any effect. Still, Clonazepam is amazing compared to Lorazepam. This is an amazing medication. I was prescribed an up-dose (2mg three times daily), but I usually only took one pill a day or two, because 2mg is very strong. I was also prescribed Xanax to take along with Clonazepam due to having a panic disorder as well as generalized anxiety, but after about a year I decided that the Xanax was pretty useless (and tasted like wet chalk), so I asked my psychiatrist to stop prescribing it. Just Clonazepam. It's great."

Clonazepam "Please, please, please do your research before ever taking Klonopin or any drug in the benzodiazepine family. Klonopin has caused me great hardship and nearly cost me my life. And I am not alone - thousands of people have had horrific experiences with this drug. Please search 'benzo withdrawal' or similar to educate yourself. Looking back, my original anxiety was nothing compared to the torture I went through once I was addicted to Klonopin. And I am not through it yet. Words cannot explain the horror I went through. That is why I beg you to do your own research. Most doctors don't know or are in denial about the withdrawal effects of benzodiazepines. The stories you will find are not lies or exaggerations. Buyer beware! Please!!"

Clonazepam "I started taking this drug 10 years ago because I was always stressed and was waking up at 3 am. Started on 0.5 mg at bedtime, combined with Trazodone, and it would knock me out within 15 minutes - I almost had to rush to the bed sometimes. It was prescribed to take another dose in the morning, but I only did this once, as it made me very sleepy driving to work. I later discovered the Trazodone wasn't doing anything and now just take the Klonopin at 0.75 mg at bedtime, and it gradually puts me to sleep and keeps me there. If I wake in the middle of the night and would normally stress about stuff, I am able to fall back to sleep till morning. Helps with work anxiety during the day, too. It has been a miracle drug for me!"

"I've taken clonazepam for over twenty years with no side effects. I tried to stop a few times, but the anxiety and mood swings caused me to start again. I just hate the feeling of being so reliant upon it."

Clonazepam "I am a middle-aged man who has had anxiety my whole life. In addition, I have a very stressful job. About three years ago, my wife convinced me to see a doctor. I had never taken any sort of anti-anxiety medication previously. The doctor prescribed Klonopin but was very adamant about taking it only as needed. The prescription says 1 mg, twice a day. But I only take, on average, two pills a week when I'm really stressed. As many people here have said, it started out great, then faded with time. Although it definitely helps, it's not pleasant. It's almost as if it makes me so sleepy I'm too tired to be stressed. Two years ago, I would have given it a 9. I still recommend it. Other than sleepiness, I have no other adverse effects."

Clonazepam "I started taking Klonopin a few years ago 0.5 mg twice a day and PRN as needed for anxiety. The drug works great for me, keeps my anxiety away, and I feel more on a normal level. It also helps me sleep. I only take it PRN now, and I feel it saved my life. Anxiety is a terrible thing to deal with."

Clonazepam "I take 2mg Klonopin 4-5 times daily along with Adderall XR 20mg 2 each morning. The combination of the two works great. I suffer from Bipolar disorder, Panic Disorder with Agoraphobia, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and ADHD. I would get so bad I would lock myself in my room at home and cry, afraid to speak to people, just full-blown terrible anxiety. Klonopin is very effective if taken properly. It's a miracle medicine. I used to just be on Xanax 1mg 5 times daily, and it started making me angry and aggressive. Some people react differently to medications. Klonopin controls my mood, stops the worst anxiety you ever experienced in its tracks. Wonderful medication with just drowsiness as a side effect."

"I've been taking clonazepam (2mg/day) for the past 8 years to treat GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) and panic disorder, and it's been nothing but a blessing. At first, the side effects were fairly potent with grogginess and poor coordination being the most prevalent. After a couple of weeks, they subsided, and the medication fully alleviated any uneasy/anxious emotions, thoughts, and/or physical feelings. I was no longer caged in my room, fearing anything and everything outside of my comfort zone."

Clonazepam "Klonopin has made me the woman I was prior to menopause. I am so very grateful. I could no longer stand the sleepless nights, horrific night and day sweats, constipation, anger attacks, anxiety attacks, and bouts of depression. A friend told me about Klonopin. It works without causing any side effects. I pray it continues as I honestly wished to just not exist any longer. I am once again functioning daily, interacting with family, and feeling normal, rested, and happy each day."

Clonazepam "21 y/o female, work in the medical field, severe anxiety for about 5 years now, always been hesitant about taking meds for fear of medication dependency. In the past year, my anxiety has gotten to the point where I am isolated & developing depression. I finally broke down and was prescribed Klonopin 0.5mg daily as needed. It takes the edge off and gives me a genuine good feeling while allowing me to keep a clear head and keep my patients safe. I was marijuana dependent as a teen because it improved my moods the same way, so I see the potential for dependency here. I am seeing a therapist and intend on using this until I learn other ways to cope. It does help you to think positively so you can begin your recovery. Great short-term drug."

"This medication has worked wonders for me. I have extremely bad anxiety and had no relief for months on end. Was convinced I was going crazy and in a frantic state of mind constantly. Not sleeping well, not eating well, panicking, overwhelming and intrusive thoughts at a high. As soon as I got over my fear of taking medication and actually swallowed my first dose, I found the next morning to feel a huge sense of relief from the anxiety. I was not as paranoid and socially anxious, which I’ve never experienced even on good days. The benefits of this medication are incredible. I will say that becoming addicted to this seems to be a very reasonable statement. I don’t know how long I’ll be on it, but my tolerance has quickly risen and I’m taking more and more for the same relief. It’ll be a month on it now, but this is the only thing that has worked for me. For desperate situations like my own, this medication is a lifesaver."

"This medicine is a godsend if you do not have addictive qualities. I thank God that my tolerance to this drug does NOT increase. I have taken higher doses that would cause non-users severe amnesia (2-4mg), and they actually do not work hardly any better than just a simple .5mg dose. If you are struggling with anxiety, I would highly recommend taking this with perhaps Celexa, and do not think twice about trying a regimen of 3 times per day. Yes, in the morning it does not cause me drowsiness. Clonazepam saved my life: got rid of rapid mood swings, gave me hope that I could calm down, and no intense withdrawals or cravings. Saved me from having to take antipsychotics for agitation and saved my marriage. The prescription guidelines for this drug are too harsh because of the general drug crisis and short-acting benzos. The prescribing guidelines specifically say that it does help a certain population with daily use, your average doctor simply doesn't want to deal with you. Blessings to all."

Clonazepam "I was prescribed 3mg a day but don't want to take that much so I am trying hard to taper to 2mg. I am at 2.25mg. I still sometimes feel a little bit of anxiety, not real bad, but catch myself starting to get in my head. Then I will breathe and talk myself out of my head. But why can't the medicine just keep me out of my head all the time? I never had any anxiety or panic disorder, I have always had manageable obsessive-compulsive disorder. Will I ever feel like me again? I know if I am not careful, I could become homebound and just sit and waste. I have a young daughter, and it is not fair for her. The Klonopin does work, but I feel like I can feel it wear off or that it is coming time for my next dose. Or is that all in my crazy head."

"I’ve been on Klonopin or Paxam or Revotril, which are the Australian brands, for about a year and a half, 2 mg a day for severe social anxiety. I tried countless SSRIs, and Valium and Ativan weren’t strong enough. My psych tried to put me on Seroquel or Zyprexa to get me off, but I declined. This medication works wonders for me. I can see my friends, go out to bars/pubs, and generally do my normal daily tasks like working and driving. The enormous downfall is that they are incredibly addictive, and the potential for abuse is massive, plus the withdrawals, don’t get me started, can make you crazy and can be life-threatening. You just need to have self-control and take it EXACTLY as your doctor tells you to. Otherwise, you’re in big trouble. This is a beast of a Benzo (not anywhere near as bad as Xanax) and not to be played with. All the best to those who are trying it!"

Clonazepam "I take 4mg of Klonopin per day. I have done so for more than two years. I went to a clinic where a 'no benzo' policy was established, and I was taken off the medicine. I went through two years of agony. Neurontin was given as a substitute... it made me depressed and nauseous. I finally had to go to a private doctor to be put back on my Klonopin and am returning to normal. The only issue I would mention is that it is not a fast-acting medicine."

Clonazepam "Started with an SSRI for anxiety and it just didn't work. Finally got prescribed this benzo Klonopin and it's perfect! I take 0.5 mg, but when I take it, my anxiety goes away. I feel like I can do anything, with a clear mind of course. I don't have to hide away anymore. I thought this drug might make me 'stoned' or something, but really all I experience is, after about 15 min, a general clear-minded sense of well-being and it works for a while. Good stuff."

"Clonazepam is the best medicine I've ever taken. I've been dealing with anxiety most of my life. Clonazepam makes me more relaxed, eliminates my racing, worrying thoughts, and lets me get back to enjoying life again. It even gets rid of my dizziness brought on by stress."

"This is a miracle drug for me. I was on it for 7 years and slowly worked my way off of it 9 weeks ago, taking 3 months to get off of it. I had the past 9 weeks be the most awful; it took me till last week to figure out it was anxiety. I could eat, sleep, or concentrate. Within 8 hours of my doctor writing me the script, I was back to my normal self!"

"It has literally saved my life. I got hit rather hard with extreme anxiety and depression, put me outta work for 4 years. Clonazepam has made my life, for the most part, normal again. But for some reason, they have made it out to be as addictive as OxyContin. This makes no absolute sense, not sure who would use clonazepam to get high. It does absolutely nothing but lower my anxiety to a controllable level. Doctors will not prescribe these anymore where I live. And my life is starting to roll outta control again. I lost my job a week ago because of the anxieties. Now my day-to-day is 'why am I even here?' Doctors need to take mental illness much more seriously. To explain how debilitating anxieties are is almost impossible unless you have them as well. I am scared if a doctor won’t help me soon. I’m 50 and not a junkie in any way, shape, or form. I just need my brain to shut up enough to live a somewhat normal life. Great to hear how many people it has helped."

Clonazepam "I have had a great experience with Klonopin. It has really saved my life. I tried Buspar and other SSRIs to help with my anxiety, but they never really took care of it. I was in a really bad funk about 6 months ago, and the anxiety just kept building up. I went to my psych doc, and she prescribed me Klonopin as needed at about 0.5mg a day. It makes me feel good through most days, but with increased stress at work, I feel I have to take a little more. I say, if it works, take it. 10 out of 10 for me. It has given me back my life."

Clonazepam "I have taken this medication daily for a few years. Right now I take 1mg daily. It doesn't give me that drugged-up feeling, and at the same time seems to help improve my mood. Sometimes I take an extra one when I have severe PMS or increased anxiety - and it works great. It's a subtle calmness that slowly starts when I take it and lasts for a long time. I would suggest this medication to anyone with anxiety or mood disorder."

Clonazepam "Klonopin definitely has a smoother onset and longer duration than Xanax. Some tolerance can develop on long-term usage so try to keep the dose as low as possible. Great benzodiazepine, wipes out anxiety once you figure out the right dosage for you."

Clonazepam "I can take 0.5 mg twice a day as needed. Some days I don't take it. It helps so much, even with my depression. I take one of these if I'm planning on killing myself because I'm suicidal every day, and the urge will pass once this calms me down. I take it for anxiety, panic attacks, and twitches/seizures."

Clonazepam "Klonopin has been instrumental in getting my anxiety disorder under control. I take 0.25 milligrams three times a day. Taking 0.5mg at once is too much and causes me to be a space cadet. It doesn't work as well on my rare panic attacks, but I have found other ways to cope with breathing exercises and such. Without it, I was nearly non-functioning and about to slip into a deep depression. It has leveled my mood swings and just made life much more bearable (even joyful!). I would much rather have dependency on this medicine and be happy than feel that I am constantly in crisis (and occasionally suicidal)."
