"This is a very small quantity prep. I just reduced solid intake 48 hours. I had breakfast - mostly protein - and started prep at 5 pm that day. Much easier to take using a straw - I drank seven 8 oz drinks over 3-4 hours - every time I went to the bathroom, I drank 8 oz. I did not notice severe cramps, etc. Second prep was harder, and I only took four 8 oz drinks. My last visit to the bathroom was clear. Happy with this product..."

"I was given this as prep for a colonoscopy. I had read negative reviews, but tried it. If you hold your breath and drink down the 5 oz., it's not bad. It gets warm as you mix it and would have been better cold. It started working about 50 min. after I took it. I noticed that warm/hot beverages (black coffee or tea) made it work faster. I had no stomach cramps, etc. with this. After the 10 pm dose, I thought my last trip to the bathroom was around midnight, but it was at 1 am. My doctor said I did a great job with the prep, so I'm sure it worked. I suggest you have a 'light' breakfast in the morning - don't eat like you'll be starving for days. I think a heavier breakfast is what keeps people from clearing out quickly. I'll use it again!"

"Used Prepopik for the first time. I must say it worked very well for me. First dose and I was on the commode in less than 45 minutes. The amount that you need to take is not bad and the taste is tolerable. Before the second dose four hours later, I began to feel nauseated, which lasted through the second dose, making it very hard to drink the additional required amount of clear liquids. I fought the urge to vomit for about 5 or 6 hours but managed to keep it down. Overall, I was satisfied when my doctor told me my colon was very clean from the prep. I will be a little anxious the next time if I use Prepopik because of the extreme nausea."

"I have no idea why this got so many bad reviews, except to say people are more likely to review a product or business, etc., when they are dissatisfied. And who is really ever 'satisfied' with bowel prep? :) So it tasted like... sweet and sour orange soda without the fizz? Not actually repulsive at all. I had to drink some gross stuff for an MRI once. This was way better. I have never had a colonoscopy before but picked up my rather expensive Prepopik (I think around $125 after insurance), followed directions to the T, and had no bloating or discomfort. It took about an hour to kick in. I went to the bathroom about 5 times last night and five times so far this morning after doing the second round of prep (I had a split pack). No discomfort. I had been prepared for the worst, but it was super easy. I drank more fluids than required, but I just feel a wee bit dizzy, that's it. BMs are yellow liquid, so I believe I am all set for today. I would recommend Prepopik."

"I'm 52, and this was my first colonoscopy. I got a coupon from the doctor, and my insurance covered the rest. The taste is not bad, it's only 5 oz, so it's really easy to drink. After the first dose, it started working within an hour. After multiple trips to the bathroom, I took dose #2, it took about 6 more hours until the output was what I assume the desired yellow. The procedure was the easiest part of the whole process. Afterwards, I slowly started eating and drinking again, and the watery output continued for about 12 hours until things got back to normal. If I have to do this again, I will use Prepopik."

"I used Prepopik one day prior to my colonoscopy. First, it is expensive when not covered by insurance. If I had not had a coupon, it would have cost over $100. Second, it took a while to start working. Lastly, when they did the colonoscopy, I was not sufficiently cleaned out, and the procedure had to be rescheduled. I will use other, more effective methods the next time around."

"Followed the directions to the letter - 'Low-Fiber' diet starting 3 days before, liquid-only diet the day before. I took the 1st dose at 4 pm and nothing. Took the 2nd dose at 8 pm, and nothing. Finally, at 11 pm I had a BM. I was up most of the night after that and was still going when I got to the doctor at 8:30 am. In fact, I was still passing stool right before the procedure. Luckily, the doctor was still able to biopsy what he needed, but said I was not completely cleaned out at all. 'It was like driving through a snowstorm.' What a waste of 3 prep days! Will use something else next time. Only positives were I had a coupon, so it only cost $40, and it didn't taste terrible. But it didn't work, so there's that..."

"Today made my third colonoscopy in 11 years. I know, gag. Prepopik was not good for me. I thought at first it was good because I only had to drink 5 oz., followed by 5-8 oz. glasses of clear liquid of my choice. I did it rather quickly because it was easier than Golightly. My stomach bloated, and I felt sick. It took the product over an hour to produce results. I also had a headache for the entire duration of the prep (1 1/2 days), a headache with a pain rating of 8-9. I did not vomit. The next day, I repeated the process. The second dose I finished, but same symptoms as before, except I vomited 1 1/2 hours later. BTW, you never get a clear stool with this product. I arrived for my test and was given Zofran to prevent vomiting again."

"Very poor results if you have a sluggish colon (as I do). I do not recommend this product - as 'great-tasting' as it is. This was my 2nd colonoscopy, and I failed it in spite of 1 week of Miralax 2x a day, and a 2-day liquid diet - 3 days liquid, and put myself on a 3-day low-residue diet. I had read how pleasant tasting the prep was, and yes folks, it tastes like the powdered 'Tang,' followed by the standard for colonoscopy preps - lots of water, which wasn't difficult as I usually drink a minimum of 8-10 ounce glasses a day. I thought I was completely clear, but NOOOOO - still going! Thumbs down. Back to GAG Go-Lightly next time (with a Compazine to prevent nausea). Doctor gave me the prep - fortunately, didn't have to buy it."

"This was my 4th colonoscopy. For the first three, I used Suprep. Not the most pleasant thing I have ever tasted, but it sure did the trick. For my colonoscopy today, my surgeon recommended Prepopik. Followed the instructions to the T. Drank the first 5 ounces at 6:00 p.m. and the second dose at 5:00 a.m. as instructed. Procedure was at 10:00 a.m. Used the bathroom at the center where my test was being done. BM was liquid but dark brown. Seemed unusual to me. Told my anesthesiologist and my surgeon, and they assured me I would be fine. 30 minutes later, I was awake and was told they couldn't perform the test because my colon was 'too dirty.' I wasn't shocked. What a waste of my time and theirs. Need to go back in a few weeks. Do NOT use Prepopik!"

"First time colonoscopy, so cannot compare other preps. Took the first dose at 4 pm, followed by five 8 oz water until 9 pm. This was gentle enough. Took the second dose at 9 pm followed by three 8 oz of water until midnight. Around 2:30 am, I woke up with extreme abdominal cramping. Had bowel movements, went to stand up and was dizzy, hot, and laid down on the floor with very hard abdominal cramping. Got a pillow and laid on the tile floor because I was too sick to return to bed. Also had a small amount of vomiting during this time. The doctor said I was clean for the procedure, but won't be taking this again for a prep unless they do something for the horrible cramping."

"I was having probably my 10th colonoscopy, and the Dr. prescribed this. What a joke. I have had IBS and uncontrollable diarrhea for the past 2.5 months. All this stuff did was constipate me! I was shocked when the Dr. came out afterward and said they had to abort the procedure! I was completely blocked after 2 days of a liquid diet and taking the two doses of Prepopik, plus all the water you have to drink after each dose. Two days prior, I was having constant diarrhea days prior to this. I don't know what kind of snake oil this is, but it is unfair to patients, esp. when their procedure has to be aborted!"

"For bowel prep, this worked wonderfully. Took the split dose method at 8 pm and 3 am for an early morning procedure. 1st dose chased with 24 oz of water and 16 more oz within the hour, and I was having bowel movements by 45 minutes. I did have to use Vaseline on my second dose as my rear was in a lot of pain. The trick is to eat light for the 2 days prior and a clear liquid diet 1 day before. Don't forget to pound those fluids! I felt really full/bloated, but it made the process go by much faster. Bowels completely clear by 5 am. Doc said the procedure was good and bowls clean. No diarrhea afterward and was able to eat a sandwich after with no problems. Highly recommend!!"

"36 y.o. Was prescribed Prepopik for prep for colonoscopy. I was surprised that it was only 2.5 oz glasses of prep when everyone complains about drinking a gallon. After one 5 oz cup, it took 90 minutes for the first BM. I could easily make it to the toilet. I had 3 watery BMs, then it stopped. 5 hours after the first one, I took the second dose. No BM till morning. It wasn't very bad, so I was worried it wouldn't be clear for the colonoscopy, but it was great. Very easy. The drug cost me $100 after insurance."

"3rd colonoscopy, first with this prep. I was excited not to have to force down the large volume of the traditional and disgusting prep fluid. That's where my satisfaction ended. In short, it didn't do the job and left me bloated and cramping for days. 3 weeks after the procedure, I was still not feeling myself. I have learned from others this is a common experience. Do not recommend!"

"75-year-old female with IBS. I will never take Prepopik again. I have hemorrhoids, and because the packet material contains citric acid, every time I relieved myself, I was in extreme pain. It was as if a hot poker were touching the rectal area. Many tears and muffled screams later, I could claim I was clear. It cost me $140 - no coupon, and Medicare did not cover it."

"Though I followed the instructions exactly, this did not work for me. Sadly, I have to repeat my colonoscopy in 2 months. It's unfortunate because it was much easier than the other preps I've been through."

"My doctor prescribed Prepopik in preparation for my fourth colonoscopy; prior preps used were Dulcolax and magnesium citrate per my doctor's instructions, which always worked well. The Prepopik did not, and, in fact, I went through all of the steps to the 'T', i.e., no solid food the day prior, first packet at 4 with five 8 oz. cups of water; second packet at 8 with three 8 oz. cups of water. I thought the regimen worked, but to my (and the doctor's) amazement, after the start of the colonoscopy, too much stool was discovered in my body, and the colonoscopy could not be performed. Unbelievable; and for this, I paid $50 and my insurance company paid $52. Would never recommend it."

"I prepared for my first colonoscopy at 50 by taking Prepopik. The taste was fine-almost like a lemony Tang. My first run took about 4 hours, and then it lasted for about 2 hours off and on. I'll take the 2nd dose in the a.m. before the procedure. At 2."

"My experience is pretty much spot on with what others have said. The liquid is not easy to get down since it is super sweet and a bit fizzy, but I committed and did it. It worked quickly, and no cramps."

"I was scheduled for a colonoscopy this morning but had to reschedule. I was prescribed Prepopik for my prep. I have gastroparesis and read in the med guide that came with the medicine and noticed it said people who have gastric retention should NOT take this prep. I called my doctor's office with this info and concern, and they assured me I would be fine. I took my first dose of prep medicine at 6 p.m. Nothing happened at all, and I ended up falling asleep. I awoke at 2:30 and had one small regular bowel movement. I took the second dose at 3 a.m., and nothing happened!! I called the doctor at 6 since my check-in time was to be at 7 a.m. and explained what happened. I canceled the procedure. At around 10:30, it finally kicked in. If you have gastroparesis, don't take."

"I had the misfortune to use your Prepopik for my procedure - and it failed to do what was intended, clean my colon. I followed the instructions for use to the letter. I wasted two days, one prepping for the procedure and one at the outpatient facility, and now I must waste two more days when I reschedule. Fortunately, the outpatient facility has prescribed a different product for my repeat attempt. What a waste of time, money, and emotion only to have to repeat! I wish there was a good way to let everyone know how bad this product is. I've complained to the physician's office, the outpatient facility, and the company - telling them what a worthless product this is. Only the outpatient facility seemed to understand my frustration."

"1 pm procedure Tuesday, so clear liquid fast Monday with 1st prep at 5 pm, followed by a relatively quick 50 oz of Gatorade and ginger ale. An hour later, working like a charm. Fine by bedtime at 11. Took prep 2 at 7:30 am with 24 oz of tea and Gatorade. Took an hour again to get going. Very effective stuff."

"I am a 36-year-old female. This was my first colonoscopy, so I was terrified, but Prepopik was great! It has a nice orange flavor and provided a very gentle but thorough cleanse. Per Dr's instructions, I did the split-dose method - one packet of prep mixed with 5 ounces of cold water (stir well!) at 6:00 PM the night before the procedure followed by 40 ounces of clear liquid (I did water and apple juice), and the other packet at 6:00 AM the next morning followed by another 40 ounces of clear liquids. My procedure began at 11:00 AM, and by 8:00 AM my bowel movements were all liquid and yellow in color. The procedure went great! A word of advice: the day before prep, eat very light food that is easy to digest - no large, heavy meals."

"I recently used Prepopik for my first colonoscopy. I am 26 years old and in good health, it was scheduled due to family history. Prepopik was easy to take, I had a lighter day of eating the day before Prepopik started. On the day of preparation, I was on a liquid diet all day and drank the most fluids I ever have. The Prepopik was easy to take, it just burned a little. However, after my colonoscopy, the doctor informed me that the Prepopik had not done a very good job cleaning me out. I need to go back in a year. It was recommended that next time I be on a soft diet 3-5 days beforehand (eggs, potato soup, protein) and to ask the doctor about taking magnesium sulfate as a laxative the day before preparation. I will not be using Prepopik again."
