For Depression "I took Celexa for 3 months at 20 mg daily to treat depression from bipolar disorder type I. I didn't notice a significant change in my mood. I discontinued due to nausea, lethargy, and difficulty achieving orgasm."

For Depression "After the side effects wore off (2-4 weeks of occasional insomnia, heightened anxiety, bathroom issues, and no energy), my overall outlook on life was much more positive. I was laughing, taking on more work, taking care of myself, and feeling good. I didn’t notice much weight gain, but working in construction, between a slowed metabolism and the hard work, my weight remained within 2 pounds up or down. Unfortunately, I had a rare side effect creep up after 3 months of use, it induced TMJ in me to the point I couldn’t eat. I switched to escitalopram, and the TMJ subsided, but found that escitalopram did not work for me, and I actually gained weight very quickly. Mind you, I’ve been on Wellbutrin in conjunction with these medications without issue with W."

For Anxiety and Stress "I took Celexa 6 years ago and took it for a year or two and got off it. I started taking it after withdrawal and severe anxiety. I do not remember the side effects being so severe. Now I am super lethargic, feel some depression (I haven't felt depressed for a while before taking the meds). So I'm not sure where I stand right now. Want to keep taking it but if these side effects keep going I will be forced to quit."

For Anxiety and Stress "My 77-year-old mother, who had a history of high blood pressure and was undergoing treatment for a UTI with the antibiotic Macrobid, took a Celexa on a Tuesday and had a stroke the next Wednesday. She broke out in red, itchy hives starting on her legs and going to her stomach, chest, neck, and face. She was confused, couldn’t write or operate her telephone properly, and was very lethargic. This drug needs more testing with the elderly, I think. She is now in the hospital recovering."

For Depression "I suffer from severe depression/anxiety. Celexa for me is a miracle. Got my life back, sex drive through the roof! Little to no anxiety, no side effects other than some yawning, tired."

For Anxiety and Stress "I have been on Celexa for 2 years. I feel tired all day with no energy. The only drugs that work are the doctor's, but I can't write because they are controlled substances."
