For Anxiety and Stress "I've always been a worrier, since I was a child. I assumed it was normal because it was all I'd ever known. After a bad break up and a lot of professional stress, I decided to see my doctor for a 'crutch' to get me through the worst of it and was fully intending for the medication to be a short-term situation. I've always been against taking medication for my stress. However, in the two months I've been on Celexa, I've decided I'd be more than happy to stay on it forever, as long as it keeps working. The obsessive worrying is just gone, poof! I can worry about something for a few minutes and then move on with my life. I'm happy and vibrant, and I feel completely normal now. I had side effects - Yawning, sleeplessness only for the first 2 weeks"

For Anxiety and Stress "I was given 10mg, and a week later, he went up to 20mg. So far, I have had constant yawning, sweating attacks, nausea, and now diarrhea. I also have problems sleeping at night, and this made me tired in the afternoon, but I now split the dose, one before bed and one when I get up... that has helped the symptoms, and they are less bothersome now. The sweating is the worst, I ordered Odaban, and it is wonderful! You can even apply it to your face and head, and that is where I sweat. I have not had any more feelings of doom and gloom and excessive worrying. I feel like I am getting back to normal, but it's been 2 weeks, and I'm not there yet. So I guess so far so good."

For Anxiety and Stress "I was having quite a bit of stress that was job-related. I was put on 10mg a day, and this dose works great for me. I experienced yawning, more frequent urination, and dry mouth in the beginning. I cannot say enough about this medicine. It has helped me immensely with very few side effects. I have had some difficulty reaching orgasm but do not have any issues with libido. I feel anyone dealing with depression/anxiety should give this medicine a shot. I myself read the reviews and was so optimistic that it would do wonders for me like it did for many others after I had done my homework. I consider this to be a miracle."

For Anxiety and Stress "I tried taking Celexa for 1 month. The main reason for choosing this medicine over others was the cost - very affordable. However, I was taking it for sadness, fatigue, irritability, and anxiety, and Celexa only made me more tired. It did work well for the stress and anxiety, but I slept a lot. I often fell asleep when I didn't want to. I am now trying another medicine that does not make me sleep, but it is very expensive and does not knock out the nerves and stress like Celexa does."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "After 3 months of severe anxiety and depression, which got worse before my periods, I wound up having a panic attack and went to the ER. I thought my life was ending, my world was upside-down. I had no drive to do anything and worried all of the time. My doctor figured out that I had PMDD and prescribed me Celexa along with YAZ. I haven't felt this good ever. The first month on Celexa I was very tired, but other than that, I have felt great."

For Depression "I suffer from PTSD and severe chronic depression. I have been on multiple medications, taking 10-12 pills a day. My doctor recommended Celexa for depression as well as my anxiety, and guess what. I am now on 4 pills a day: Celexa for depression, Klonopin for my anxiety attacks, Ambien to help me sleep, and Prazosin to keep my nightmares at bay. Celexa works for me amazingly, it has calmed me down some, and I used to just burst out in tears at the simplest things because they reminded me of my past. Not anymore. Although I have it a 9 and not a 10 because the first couple of weeks are rough. I was very, VERY lethargic and sleepy, and I was still having mood swings, which got a little worse. I stuck with it, and it changed me."

For Anxiety and Stress "I have been on this medication for just shy of 2 months. I was prescribed it for anxiety and depression, but mostly anxiety. I have found it to be good, however not so much for anxiety. It has helped my sleep for the most part, but I still get significant anxiety in the daytime. I will say you have to give it a good month for it to show its benefits, and there are side effects in the beginning, but they are minimal and not significant, mostly just yawning and sexual side effects. Other than that, I have found it to be effective."

For Anxiety and Stress "June 23, Dr. prescribed 20 mg of Celexa for social anxiety at work. I was running out of options. Thought I was going to have to stop working after 20 years with the same company. My 15-year-old teen felt sorry for us. Tried Zoloft at first, made me very tired, more like a zombie. The Celexa 20 mg first dose made me feel wired, scared, paranoid, more anxiety, I could not leave the house. A coworker who had very good success with Celexa recommended that I start with 1/4 mg of a 10 mg tablet and increase it when my body and mind worked it out... and it did! About every 5 days, however, the first and second week I took off work and watched TV and went walking. Now I am at 10 mg in 1 month. Social anxiety gone, plan to increase to 15 mg."

For Depression "I have been on Celexa for about 15 years and it's great. The only symptoms at first were dry mouth and yawning, which eventually went away. I tried about 2 years ago to wean myself off with my doctor's help, and I had a horrible relapse, so I am going to stay on Celexa as long as my doctor allows me. I actually feel normal all the time and very balanced."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "This medicine is great. It has changed the way I feel on a daily basis. Every month about 1 week before my period, all my muscles would hurt as if I was lifting heavy weights. I do work out but not hard enough to be that sore all week. I talked to my doctor and found out that I had PMDD. I was always in a bad mood and little things at home would just set me off, but thanks to the combination of both, I feel a lot better about myself and am always in a great mood. When I first started the Celexa, I was always tired but now I have more energy. I have not had any issues with any of the medicine."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I have been taking Celexa due to many stressful events that made my anxiety almost unbearable. Tough financial times, stress at work, three miscarriages, being away from family, etc. My list is huge. I was surprised I lasted this long without medication. I always tried to convince myself that I could control the panic, fear, stress, and sad feelings, etc. Exercise helped, but I finally decided to get help. I hate the feeling of always being worried, always going to worst-case scenarios, feeling out of place, fearful of even driving, and the unbearable anxiety of trying to conceive again after my traumatic experiences. Anyway, I was prescribed 20 mg of Celexa. Going on week 2 and I hope this is my answer. Already feeling better, with no side effects except yawning."

For Anxiety and Stress "I started taking Celexa for anxiety and bad stress. My BP was rising very high and I couldn't sleep much. I'm now only on my 7th dose of 10 mg, and I feel tired, but I'm giving this new med time to work. It took me 6 months to safely get off of Xanax my doc put me on after an injury which caused much stress. My BP is now back to normal, and I feel good, a little tired, but unlike other reviews I've read, I don't eat as much and now am losing weight. But yes, I also 'hopefully just for now' have lost some interest in sex, and I'm a male, and it's harder to climax. Think it will all get better, but so far, this is a good med for me."

For Anxiety and Stress "Did some yawning in the first week and then my libido started to diminish. After two weeks, my yawning went away and was replaced with clarity and a clear mind. The unfortunate downside at 20 mg after two weeks was absolute zero libido, I couldn't have an erection. It's too bad because it's a very effective medicine otherwise. I've switched to Wellbutrin, haven't started it, going through a one-week wash-off from Celexa."

For Anxiety and Stress "I was prescribed Celexa a week ago. At first, I had trouble sleeping, horrible headaches, and was very tired during the day, but now I'm starting to sleep better and not be as tired during the day. I also find myself not being as stressed out. I hope to see more results."

For Anxiety and Stress "First 2 days were euphoric and nothing could upset me. Then got more irritable and anxious. Stomach in knots. Then came depression and thoughts of suicide, along with anxiety. Yawning all the time. This is day 7 and I left a message with my doctor this morning letting her know I couldn't feel like this for another week in hopes that it would possibly even out."

For Anxiety and Stress "I started taking Celexa about 1 1/2 weeks ago, started at 10 mg and upped to 20 three days ago. I had been on Zoloft prior for about 5 years, but it stopped working. I was off of it for about 2 months before starting Celexa. Experiencing an increase of anxiety, tiredness, and an overall sense of exhaustion. Does it get better? Will these side effects go away eventually? My doctor said the increased anxiety is not caused by the meds. Yes, I was anxious and needed something, but my anxiety is much higher since taking the meds, so I don't necessarily believe the doctor 100%. I want to stop taking it, but I also want to feel 'normal,' and I know these meds can be very helpful. Any advice would be greatly appreciated."

For Depression "This med has helped me (male, 50) considerably to deal with depression and panic attacks. I experienced the usual side effects of night sweating and still have some occasional sweaty palms and some yawning. After beginning, my depression initially got worse, but 8 weeks later, I feel better balanced. I switched to taking the med after dinner. I tried 40mg with no additional benefits, only more tired, then back to 20mg. It does take several weeks to reach effectiveness, so be patient if you don't feel immediate improvement."

For Depression "I suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder since I was very young. When I first received therapy at 28, I tried several anti-depression medicines with little success. I also went on and off meds, which I learned much later wasn't the correct thing to do. At 46, I found a psychiatrist who helped me understand my condition and prescribed Celexa. I've been on Celexa 10 mg since 2007 and know I must stay on depression medication for life. My moods are bright, I don't get 'stuck' for long periods, no suicidal thoughts, and haven't had any big panic attacks for years. I'm very sensitive to many medicines, and Celexa has been very good in treating my depression with anxiety, with little to no side effects. A little dry mouth and tiredness on occasion is all."

For Depression "I'm 18 and on my third day of Celexa. I've had depression for 3+ years now and have gone unmedicated. I finally agreed to try Celexa 30 mg and 0.25 mg of Xanax. Changing my life and cannot wait for even more improvement. Only issues so far are some insomnia and constant yawning, but it's a small price to pay!"

For Depression "I have been taking 20 mg every evening for about 2 months, and a few days ago, upped the dose to 40 mg. I couldn't be happier with this medication. I had very few side effects in the beginning (frequent yawning, tiredness, lack of concentration). Those all went away within 2 weeks, and I was afraid they would come back with the increased dosage, but they haven't. I don't feel like an emotionless zombie while taking Celexa, I feel happy when I should and sad when I should, like a normal human being. It has really helped with my crying-for-no-reason spells, as well as helping me deal with frustrations better. I wish I had found out about this medication sooner."

For Depression "My 4th week using Celexa. I feel GREAT! For the past 2 years, I felt so unhappy for no reason, worried about everything, constant anxiety, grumpy and tired. Now I feel like a new person. I find myself smiling all the time, full of energy, positive attitude. I did feel very, very tired the first two weeks on it, it made my stomach upset a little. That all stopped around the 3rd week, not a big deal. I am truly thankful for Celexa, it has changed my life! I am sorry I waited so long to say something to my doctor. If you think you need help, call your doctor now, don't wait."

For Anxiety and Stress "I took this medication for anxiety and stress for only 2 months. I really did not see any improvement, and the side effects were pretty bad: insomnia, nausea, headaches, felt like my nerve endings had little electrical surges, lethargic, night sweats, and zero sex drive."

For Depression "I have been on Celexa for about a week and a half, ever since I had noticed a loss of appetite and felt zombie-like. But, as for how I used to feel without the medication at first, I feel more calm and less anxious. As for the constant panic attacks that I was having, Celexa helped ease them a lot. Yes, I feel tired all the time and unable to sleep well. Luckily, I am taking Restoril along with it. I am able to sleep my good eight hours before waking up to go to college every morning. I am considering talking with my doctor to see if he can at least lower the dosage a bit to 10mg. I am currently taking 20mg. That way, the side effects won't take their toll on me."

For Anxiety and Stress "I battled with severe panic attacks and generalized anxiety. It got so bad that I was unable to leave the house. The panic attacks would happen everywhere and would feel dizzy, sweat, have palpitations, and diarrhea. I would eventually run out of the store crying. I turned to my doctor who recommended 20mg of Celexa. After about 5 weeks of pretty harsh side effects such as extreme tiredness, restlessness, and agitation, the panic attacks stopped. Thanks to Celexa, I got my life back and was able to go out again. It was a lifesaver. I've been on it for about two years now, and have started to successfully wean off. The reason I didn't give it a 10 is because it took a while to kick in and the side effects were pretty severe."
