For Sinusitis "I have taken this drug many times due to my allergies to most families of antibiotics. I have always tolerated it generally well, however, the last two times I took it, I had extreme anxiety and panic attacks, as well as feeling like crying even though I wasn't sad. The first time I completed my dose and assumed it was my anxiety disorder causing it. I felt better and better the next week or two after I was done with my dose, but didn't connect the two. However, the next time I took the medication, I felt the exact same. Extremely anxious to the point where Klonopin wouldn't calm me down, and sadness for no reason. I stopped after 3 days in and noticed a great decrease in mental symptoms the next day, dissipating within a week or so. I am lucky to have no physical symptoms, as I still work out almost daily and had no tendon issues or soreness, however, due to all of the complaints from others and the mental effects it had on me, I won't take it again."

For Bronchitis "Ciprofloxacin 500 mg for respiratory infection. After 2 tablets (every 12 hours), I have experienced strong twitching during sleep. So strong and frequent that it was waking me up a lot. I did not connect this to medicine side effects and have taken the 3rd dose in due time. This has been followed by strong convulsion-like twitching during sleep (never when awake), then followed by very strong anxiety when awake. I couldn't stay still, my heartbeat was very chaotic. I did not take the next dose. Symptoms of respiratory infection were significantly reduced after 2 tablets (24 hours) and almost gone after the 3rd tablet (36 hours). I hope it will not come back now."

For Urinary Tract Infection "First of all, I am writing this on the premise that I had a really good health provider and pharmacist who answered all my concerns and worries. I'm a hypochondriac, so googling and reading all the negative comments is a smack in the face. However, I have taken Cipro twice in 2019-20. They have done the trick. Every person will respond to medication differently. I have been prescribed 250 mg to take one twice daily for five days. I got a recurrent UTI upon writing this comment, and I took the first pill. I gave it a 9/10 because I won't say it's perfect, but it does help. I do have blood in my urine, and then there's Uristat, which is like the generic brand of AZO, so the urine color is different. The only few side effects that I'm experiencing are sleeplessness and a bit of anxiety. It is hard to sleep, but as far as I can tell, it's working. It's a 7/10 because I just started the course, but it wouldn't be recommended to me if I had never taken it before."

For Intraabdominal Infection "I have been in the hospital for four days on IV piperacillin for a ruptured appendix. Within one day of starting Cipro at home, I had substantial muscle weakness in my right arm and a bit of neuropathy in both arms. I also had tingling in my back and a little bit in my legs. I also had a new anxiety I didn’t even have in the hospital! After doing a little bit of reading and realizing that this can be a serious side effect from the Cipro, I decided to call the doctor right away. They have written me a new prescription for amoxicillin. I’m writing this to say don’t be afraid to get a different antibiotic if this one is causing you these kinds of side effects. Apparently, you should grin and bear it because the nerve and muscle damage doesn’t always go away."

For Sinusitis "DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION CIPROFLOXACIN! I REPEAT, DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION! Let's see where do I start? I was paranoid, did not go to sleep for 24 hours, could not stop going to the bathroom, I had weird movements (my thumb would move for no reason), my fingers were tingling, sometimes I was hot, sometimes I was cold. I was nervous, anxious, scared, and could not keep still in the shower just to wash myself. 22 hours later I have a smell that I can't get out of my nose that smells like bleach. I'm hoping it goes away. Oh, and let's not forget the tightness in my throat and how my bones would hurt to the point standing up was difficult. My husband said I woke up out of my sleep, jumped out of the bed, and got in the shower. I don't even remember doing that, which is another side effect called 'confusion or memory loss.' Let's just say I said a lot of prayers that night because I thought I wasn't going to make it."

For Prostatitis "I have had a terrible experience. Do not take this unless it is a life or death situation! I was prescribed for prostatitis and got hives, sweats, anxiety, sleep issues, and more. This should not even be an option, especially when others are available."
