For Bipolar Disorder "2nd time on Vraylar. 1st time it saved my life. Doc took me off it despite it working wonderfully, due to weight gain. I have been on everything but nothing seems to work. I also have severe anxiety and insomnia. I take 10 mg of Valium 3 x day for the anxiety, but when my doc took me off the Vraylar, it made my anxiety unbearable at times. So I would 'smoke' to help. Now back on Vraylar, back up to 6 mg, no real side effects. The anxiety is gone, but I find I only need about 4 hours of sleep a night, even though I'd love a full 8. I'm definitely more 'activated' too, but it beats the depression I sunk into when taken off the Vraylar."

For Bipolar Disorder "I’ve been on this medication for 4 months, it has helped with my depression. I experienced what can best be described as cognitive delays or brain fog, which allows me to deal with my emotions before exploding. This makes it easier to get along with the people around me. Unfortunately, it makes it difficult for me to do my job. Additionally, I also noticed an increase in my appetite, which has resulted in weight gain."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I'm having second thoughts about continuing to take it even though I feel like it is helping with my depressive symptoms. I normally don't pay too much attention to possible side effects listed for medications because I don't want to overreact. Today, though, I read through them because I'm having some weird stuff going on medically, including problems with breathing, weight gain, cough, constant hoarse voice, muscle spasms almost daily, and sometimes multiple at once."

For Major Depressive Disorder "Good med. Helped relieve my depression, and I felt good on it, but it caused weight gain/increased appetite. That was the main drawback. 1.5 mg to 3 mg. Added to other depression meds."

For Bipolar Disorder "I started taking Vraylar on July 17. I suffer from major depression, OCD, panic disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder. I felt emotionally regulated. However, I gained weight and experienced insomnia, which was already an issue for most of my life. I stopped the drug twice. My mood deteriorated and became more unregulated. I've been back on for 4 weeks. My mood has stabilized. The weight gain has been an atrocious side effect for me. I'm very petite, and gaining 12 lbs has been very physically uncomfortable. I eat well and am always on the move. I've also suffered from chronic diarrhea; however, I have IBS. I do feel the constant diarrhea that is now occurring is related to Vraylar."
