For Depression "This medication was very hard to use, there was stomach pain and acid reflux. Sleep was poor, and I couldn't sleep more than 2 hours without waking at night. I became very agitated with anxiety and sadness that would come and go very fast. The agitation became worse, and I was looking for anything that irritated me to lash out and went into a rage and confronted others. My heart was always around 100 beats when I was at rest. I also had very strange thoughts that worried me I was losing control of my thoughts."

For Major Depressive Disorder "This is the most amazing medication I've ever taken. I've had issues with alcohol, and I'm on day 3 after increasing my dose, and I had zero cravings for alcohol today, which is crazy. I am also way more motivated and getting so much done at work. Before, I felt like I just wanted to sleep all day long. I was so negative every day, cried all the time, genuinely hated the idea of having to live another day. I can't even believe the change in myself in just a matter of days. I feel happy again and have a lot of energy. For anyone wanting to try this, I absolutely recommend it, it's life-changing!!"

For Depression "Before I started taking Wellbutrin, I was very tired, stressed, had difficulty concentrating, sad, and unmotivated. Within a week of being on 150 mg a day, I felt such a tremendous positive change. I sleep better too. Now I am actually looking forward to the rest of my life instead of dreading it. I feel inspired, more disciplined, and my mood is stable. I hope this medication continues to support me as a method in my toolbox to improve the quality of my life."

"Female, 27, 150 mg XL for overeating disorder, ADHD, depression, and anxiety. After 10 days, insomnia improved by switching to taking it at night right as I'm falling asleep. It increased focus, energy, and contentment while reducing hunger. Initial agitation subsided quickly. Previous meds like Adderall, Vyvanse, and SSRIs had unwanted side effects, but Wellbutrin combines the best of both, allowing creativity and emotional connection. It's improved disordered eating, social interactions, and focus on work and creativity. Lost 3 lbs, feel more accountable, and have a better schedule. Glad I gave it a chance after being hesitant due to online reviews. It's nice to have my life back and feel like myself. I will update if anything changes, but for now I'm so grateful for this medicine."

"Two months ago, I asked my doctor for a prescription to help control my weight. I specifically asked for Ozempic due to its widespread popularity and effectiveness. For some context, I am 5'7" and at the time, 308 lbs. I am a binge eater and have put on roughly 30 lbs this year, recovering from open heart surgery. I am taking the 150 dose. My negative side effects have been very minimal. However, it has done a great job of assisting in my weight loss journey. I have lost 31 lbs in 2 months. I have made some adjustments to my nutrition and exercise in that time. I consume about 2,000 calories/day and lift weights or ride my bicycle twice a week. Also, I walk several miles each weekday at work. My cravings for sweets and overeating have stopped. If I stay busy enough, I will forget to eat for most of the day. Wellbutrin has been very helpful in this regard. The overall success of my weight loss plan is sticking to a calorie deficit, this medication makes it easier to do so."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have struggled with anxiety and major depression most of my life. I'm 75 now. After a divorce, 30 years ago, I started to go into a horrible place. I had to admit myself to a psychiatric unit. I was given clonazepam for the anxiety. It worked well. I was put on Zoloft. Useless. Prescribed numerous other antidepressants. No help. After 8 years, I was convinced there was no help from meds. (I had, and have, religiously taken my meds for these 30 years.) 22 years ago, I went to one of the experts on major depressive illness. He prescribed Wellbutrin. Within days, I felt the depression lifting. But my moods kept swinging up and down. But I was thrilled I was getting better. He then added Lamictal. A week later, I walked out my door to go to my store. I felt really good. After a few days, I realized I was much better. Depression lifted, moods improved dramatically, I could use other coping methods and anxiety meds to feel stable. Sometimes you need a combo of meds to feel right. I found them."

"I took a dosage of Wellbutrin 150 mg in delayed-release tablets for years. The drug improves motivation, improves overall function and agility of action, and therefore indirectly reduces some anxious thoughts and, on the other hand, seems to increase physical anxiety symptoms. A good cure for depression that includes anxiety and less good for anxiety is primary. Does not cause obesity or impaired libido."

For Depression "I hesitated to take any medication for years and years, but after a series of difficult life events over the last year, I was feeling a heaviness and hopelessness that I just couldn’t shake. My eating disorder behaviors worsened, I gained lots of weight, and had no energy. After reading reviews on this site, I decided to try Wellbutrin. It’s been a month now, and I would say this medication has changed my life. I am more in control of my thoughts and am able to stay in the present. I am sleeping better, have way more energy, and feel way more in control mentally and emotionally, so the eating disorder behaviors have significantly decreased. The only side effects I have noticed are the decreased appetite and a bit more irritability. Otherwise, I am so happy I had the courage to take the plunge. It’s been great!"

For Major Depressive Disorder "Depression or MDD, whatever I had, almost took my life away. Whatever positive reviews you've seen, I experienced all or most of them. At first, I did have insomnia, trembling hands, low appetite, but didn't have anxiety. Additionally, I felt like my heart chakra opened. All my life, I've been scared of cold water, but now I feel like the warmth inside me is sufficient for me to not bother about the cold hitting my body, haha. But the best part for me was it worked within 2 hours of taking that first dose. If it had taken more than a day to start working, I wouldn't have survived. This medicine has fixed probably 95% of all the problems I had in my life, whether it was self-esteem issues or an inability to focus, or even executive dysfunction, etc. everything was fixed. It fixed an addiction of more than 10 years in one shot as well. I cannot say enough for this medicine. I want to see what else it will do wonders for in the future. I hope you take this medicine if you need it, and I hope it works."

For Depression "For years I was on SSRIs and they almost destroyed my life. This drug saved it. I feel like myself without that awful hazy effect that SSRIs produce. It helps a lot with anxiety and my PTSD. It also helped me quit smoking."

"Hugely satisfied. I tried this medication based on reviews from this page and absolutely agree with those who have found it transformational. I’ve suffered anxiety and addictive tendencies all my life, am a recovered alcoholic and drug addict through Alcoholics Anonymous with 18 years sobriety, but continued to struggle with binge eating and anxiety which has increased in recent years, and associated weight gain in line with perimenopause. My libido also crashed a decade ago following birth of my first child and never bounced back. I’ve been on HRT for nearly a year and that’s really helped, but had been suffering increasing panic attacks and general sense of doom linked with rogue undermining thoughts. I’ve been avoiding SSRIs as just couldn’t have any further weight gain or sexual issues (gained weight and lost sex drive on SSRIs in the past). Did a bit of research and found this. I’m on the Zyban brand as that’s all we can get down in NZ. On 75/75 SR."

For Major Depressive Disorder "When my doctor offered me Wellbutrin, I said sure like I always did. I've been on a variety of different medications over the past 10 years, and none of them seemed to give me hope with my MDD. I was put on Bupropion about a month ago. I've always said there's no magic pill to make you get out of bed in the morning or cure depressive symptoms. I WAS SO WRONG! On Bupropion, I feel like a child again! I have found interest in activities that all seemed too much of a hassle to do, or that I didn't do because I had no faith in my capabilities. Bupropion has given me a newfound confidence in myself; I feel like someone has given me my soul back, and I'm able to feel things I never thought I'd be able to experience again. There are some side effects to Bupropion, but they're worth it to me as the medication is making it able for me to function. For me, it's weight gain, tinnitus, and joint pain."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I was on a low and had no energy and was self-medicating with alcohol. I was always in bed, no energy, just blah! Crying all the time, missing work. I decided to seek help, and my doctor put me on this med a month ago. All I can say is wow!! I've not been stressed and worrying about every little thing. I have no urge to drink at all, and I'm able to get out and do stuff with my kids. Depression sucks, but I'm glad this med is working for me."

For Depression "I started with 150mg in June 2023 and didn't notice a difference. I went up to 300mg and had insomnia frequently at first. It's gotten better but it still happens here and there. I try to make sure I get mentally tired first before bed. I also have the buzzing noise in my ears all the time. I honestly don't notice it much unless I'm sitting in absolute peace but it's annoying to hear it. This med also made me lose 10lbs right off the bat and I am now maintaining that weight even though I haven't been eating great. But overall I feel more calm, very little irritation/moodiness and focused. I've lightened up a lot. I have also been taking Lamotrigine for years which didn't really seem to help until I started this drug. It's been a life saver."

For Major Depressive Disorder "Pros: gives me energy, the ability to get up and get going in the morning and work out at the gym, no harsh side effects or effect on sex drive. Cons: doesn't really help with my mood swings and anxiety. Sometimes it actually makes me jittery and more anxious, like I just drank a huge cup of coffee. If I take it too close to nighttime, it does keep me awake. For me, it also did not counteract the sex drive issues I had when I was on an SSRI. I take the SR tab in the morning, and that seems to be the best fit for me. I recommend playing around with formulation/dose/timing of this med to figure out what works for you."

"I heard this was the skinny-happy-horny pill. I get mild SAD and anxiety. I’d taken other anxiety meds with success but they made me gain so much weight, I had to quit. The first few weeks it made anxiety worse and increased panic attacks. However, that went away. After about 4 weeks, I had a ton more energy and was so much happier. I had a decrease in appetite and started eating better. Intimacy felt better. But after a few months, I noticed some hair loss. It got worse and worse, my head hair as well as my eyelashes and eyebrows. Eventually, it got bad enough that I quit. After a year, my SAD crept back up, so I tried it again. My thick, full hair was back. I had the same exact response. Mentally, it was great, 100% depression cure and about 75% anxiety cure. But after a few months of taking a shower and seeing eyelashes all over my face and hair on the shower floor, it freaked me out, so I had to stop."

"I have GAD and ADHD, as well as going through postpartum depression which is presenting mainly as rage. I haven't taken any sort of medication for 10 years to treat the anxiety, and I've only now just accepted the fact that I needed to try some medication for my ADHD. I'm nervous about stimulants so my doctor prescribed 150mg Wellbutrin XL. I must say - I am pleasantly surprised. No medication (I have tried about 5 different antidepressants in my life) has made this much of a difference for me. I've only been taking it for 3 days and I'm already noticing a huge shift in my mood, and I randomly got up and scrubbed down all the surfaces in my kitchen (which haven't been done for god knows how long). I feel the urge to be productive and I'm less irritable with my kids. I'm hoping this continues and so far I have no negative side effects whatsoever, which shocks me. Give it a try!"

For Major Depressive Disorder "My experience with Wellbutrin is very positive! I was suffering from major depression (horrible mood, pessimistic, could not enjoy anything, really bad thoughts) with panic/stress disorder. I was in a dark place for many months. I tried multiple SSRIs, gave them time but none worked. Then, my doctor suggested 150mg of Wellbutrin daily. After 1 month, I was feeling a bit better but still in a depressive mood. Then, I went to 300mg. After 2 months, I saw a big difference. I could enjoy things, be present, focus on things I love, think a bit more clearly, become more optimistic about the future. I wake up happy to be alive most days. Of course, there are still some bad moments where things get dark, but it's quite easy to get through them and not let them affect my entire mood long term. Side effects: Buzzing in ears (went away), increased libido (can be a good thing), restlessness (went away), irregular heartbeats, and sweating. Give this drug a try together with therapy!"

"The combo of being a constant worrier, miserable job, and being diagnosed with S2BC I required something to supplement my faith. I had previously used WB in 2002 to address complicated grief and it helped me over the hill of acceptance of loss. Fast forward to 2022, 20 years later WB has come to the rescue again. I love that I have no side effects, alleviates anxiety symptoms and stay emotionally balanced through some of the most challenging phases of my life so far and will continue to use indefinitely without regret but gratefulness to have access to this med."

For Depression "I’m on day 5 of Wellbutrin. I’ve had severe anxiety and depression for the past 10 years, and I’m 26 now. I’ve been hospitalized twice for suicidal feelings. Tried all different kinds of medications for the past 8 years. I had no hope anymore. I switched doctors this week after getting fed up with my old psychiatrist, who I felt didn’t understand me and couldn’t give me the care I needed. My new doctor understands me, and she started me on Wellbutrin this week. The first day of taking Wellbutrin, I felt relief. The fog of hopelessness was lifted, and although my situation is still bad, I now feel like I have the ability to overcome it. Now on day 5, I’m feeling much better, like I can actually focus more on the present moment rather than being stuck in my head. Side effects have included dry mouth, some stomach issues, anxiety, and insomnia. My doctor gave me trazodone to sleep better, which has helped. Please do not lose hope or be scared to try medications. They can help."
