For Major Depressive Disorder "Rexulti has given me back my normal life. I have been on Effexor for 5 years, and it stopped working as well, my anxiety had started to skyrocket. My psychiatrist added this 1 mg a day, and within 3 days, I could feel a difference. Within 5 days, I could fall asleep quickly again, I woke at 8:30 am after sleeping 8.5 hours instead of 12. I have accomplished more in 2 hours this am than I have in a month. I am relaxed, anxiety is almost gone, and it does not make you feel like you are speeding. The only side effect I had was some loose bowels the first 3 days, now all is fine. SOOOOO glad this works! I was afraid that I would have to get my meds changed. It feels nice to be living my life again."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I feel so much better after reading the other reviews. I am sensitive to meds so I can only tolerate 150 mg of Wellbutrin per day. It started to stop working on me around Christmas time. I felt blank. I have a wonderful psychiatrist who gave me Rexulti. I didn't know if it was psychosomatic at first or not, but I felt better within three days! My mood lifted. I feel level and normal and often forget to take the Xanax that I used to depend on for my several panic attacks per day. Now I'm weaning down my Xanax because that you cannot stop cold turkey. This medication is wonderful. I'm just nervous about long-term effects since it is so new."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have been on Rexulti for 1 month now. It is totally amazing for treatment-resistant depression, I haven't felt this good in about 20 years, but I am having massive weight gain issues. Can anyone tell me how to get the weight off, as not eating or exercise is not helping? Would appreciate some advice. Thank you."

For Depression "I have chronic depression (dysthymia) and anxiety, and the depression worsened recently despite being on Zoloft and Wellbutrin. My psychiatrist suggested we try Rexulti and wean me off the Wellbutrin. I started on 1 mg, and I had a slight headache for the first two days. After that, I felt like I was doing a little better, and my husband commented that I was more active than usual. My dose went up to 2 mg a couple of days ago. Now I feel like I can really tell a difference! I haven't felt depressed, I have more focus and creativity at work, and I've actually had enough motivation to do chores at home. I'm a little restless, which I'll keep an eye on, but I haven't noticed any other side effects besides that and the temporary headache. I'm optimistic!"

For Major Depressive Disorder "At the beginning, Rexulti really, REALLY lifted my MDD (along with 60 mg Prozac a day). Lots more energy, smiling and laughing a lot more, back to enjoying life again, wanting to go back to my knitting and gardening and much more!! And my NP gets so many samples from the drug reps that she said she could keep me in Rexulti for free long-term! However, it 'pooped out' after just 3 weeks...so the NP upped my dose to 2 mg. But that made me really weak, tired and lethargic. So she told me to go back down to 1 mg. Neither of those doses did/is doing ANYTHING for my Depression. Please pray with me that I'll find a med that works---the next med change will be my 6th attempt after long-term use of generic Prozac by itself. Been on it 6 wks."

For Depression "I think I have finally found what works for me! It took a lot of trial and error. I am currently on Pristiq (the generic kind) 100 mg, Rexulti 1 mg, and Vyvanse 75 mg every day. I take the Vyvanse and half a mg of Rexulti in the morning and Pristiq and another half a mg of Rexulti at night. The 1 mg Rexulti all at once gave me anxiety by the end of the day. Now I have back my passion, my drive, and excitement for life! I have anxiety, depression, and ADD, but these medications balance out everything correctly."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I was put on 2 mg Rexulti once a day after my 10 mg dose of Abilify stopped working. I noticed positive changes on the Rexulti within a week. It does make me tired, so I take it at bedtime along with 60 mg of Cymbalta. I am definitely feeling less angry, less moody, and haven't had any crying spells since starting it 3 months ago. I definitely think it is more effective than Abilify was for me. It has not affected my weight or libido at all. I would say it's working as intended, and 2 mg seems to be a good therapeutic dose."

For Depression "I was taking Zoloft for depression, and Rexulti was added to it. At first, I felt great, but after about 2 weeks, I became very reckless. I didn’t care about anything. I didn’t care about the consequences of my actions. I did lots of stupid stuff. I stopped taking it."

For Depression "I was given Rexulti as an add-on for depression. At the time, I was constantly in a dark place. Lots of thinking of death. Not suicidal. It helped overnight. However, I had some bad side effects. Tardive dyskinesia of the mouth. Although not in the way this condition is talked about. I was unable to chew. It was as if I lost that automatic chewing. I lost weight as I was unable to really eat anything except fluids. I was then put on yet another medication (can't recall the name). This helped a little but did not help the way I had hoped. I decided to go off the Rexulti cold turkey, and I felt as though my body was failing me. I felt worse than the flu. I gave it 2 weeks before I had to start taking it again. Now I am slowly tapering to lower doses. Please listen when I say DO NOT go off cold turkey. I was on 3 mg. I am now on 2 mg and hope to change the dose to 1 mg next."

For Major Depressive Disorder "Treatment-resistant recurrent major depressive disorder - 300 mg Wellbutrin XL and 75 mg Wellbutrin SR (1x in AM), which had been effective (stable baseline and fully functional) for years. However, due to life circumstances, I began to feel depressed (feelings of hopelessness). After a week of adding 1/2 mg of Rexulti, the 'sense of doom' dissipated, and about another week of taking the 1 mg, I began to feel a sense that 'all is well.' Side effects: intense feelings of thirst and hunger, increased body temperature. Definitely bearable and can easily be managed by drinking water and eating healthy. Side effects minimized by week 2. I also tended to be cold all the time, which brought me to a normal temperature. I lost 3 lbs in the 1st week. Miracle combo."

For Depression "I've been trying different combinations of medicines for a good 6 years. I was put on Trintellix about a year ago, and that helped some, but my depression was still disabling. Recently, I went to my psychiatrist and asked for a change in medication. She decided to add Rexulti as an add-on to my Trintellix. The result has been phenomenal. I feel better than I have in years. I have more energy, I'm less anxious, and I've been able to leave my house without feeling overwhelmed at all. This medicine is working VERY well for me."

For Depression "I have been on Rexulti 4 mg with Wellbutrin XL 300 mg, Zoloft 200 mg, and Adderall 90 mg a day. Rexulti is for my depression. Yes, I have gained some weight, but I feel better on 4 mg of Rexulti. I need to figure out how to lose weight with this drug. But I also have other thyroid issues that mess with my weight constantly. I would rather be happy and gain a little weight than be miserable. I have come to the conclusion that the medications are what you make it. I feel lots of relief from my depression. For years, I felt like, even with 2 antidepressants, I need something to stabilize me more. This Rexulti is the only medication that doesn't change my personality or change who I am as a person."

For Major Depressive Disorder "If you have any anxiety, do NOT take Rexulti! I had very severe panic attacks so bad that I had to go to the ER. They will not go away unless you go to the ER. One day, I had 5 attacks back to back, with my 15-year-old begging me to call an ambulance. They would not stop happening! My jaw would lock up, I felt like I couldn't breathe, and felt like I was dying. Nothing I did at home would stop them. It was a terrifying experience!!"

For Major Depressive Disorder "Rexulti is the absolute best drug I have taken. Day one, I thought, 'There is no way this could be working already.' Day two, I said, 'I think this may be working.' Day three, I said, 'Oh my goodness, this is working great.' My psychiatrist says he is seeing positive results in one week for most people, if it works for them. I have been treatment-resistant for depression for 20 years. I've tried every medication, even ECT, but nothing has ever worked like Rexulti!!!"

For Major Depressive Disorder "Began taking Rexulti in May 2016 for MDD. At that time, I weighed 160 lb. This was a miracle drug for me. I had energy, obsessive thoughts and worries went away, and I felt like a new person. Now, three years later, I weigh 220 lb and am miserable. I never changed my eating habits. Felt starved all the time. I'm stopping this medication. Now I'm at risk for heart attack, stroke, diabetes. So, yes, Rexulti works, but at a serious cost."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have MDD/GAD/ADD. Started Rexulti as an add-on to Zoloft. At first, it was great - I was seeing improvements to my mood within days. But it eventually kind of fizzled out. Also, it made me gain 40 lbs in the 9 months since I started taking it. I started tapering off of it, and this is where the real fun part begins. I rarely have issues stopping psych meds, and I’ve never experienced side effects as long as I’ve tapered my dose, at least not until Rexulti. It has been hell to come off of this med. I have never been so depressed in my life. It’s like I’m an empty husk. No feeling or emotion. My thinking has become remarkably slow, and my speech gives it away (it takes me forever to get through a sentence). Fortunately, this is temporary, but that doesn’t make it any less soul-crushing to experience. And it flares up even worse than before with every drop in dosage."

For Major Depressive Disorder "Struggling with treatment-resistant depression for over 17 years. Very hopeful this would work. Well, after the first five days, I had an 'EXTREME REACTION.' After the third day, I started to feel a little confused, with no appetite. But on the sixth day, on my way to work, I missed my exit on the highway. Things only got worse: stumbling, forgetfulness, etc. On my way home, I started jumping curbs on the highway and trying to drive into the other lanes of oncoming traffic. So confused, I didn't know which direction I was traveling and could not get off the highway. I put others and including myself into so much harm. Thank God I was pulled over and taken to the hospital via ambulance. Scared the holy crap out of me. Taken off this drug immediately."

For Depression "Effective as anything, but at great cost. It quickly quieted my intrusive thoughts and gave me a boost of energy. But only 4 months later, I've gained 35 lbs on only 1 mg of Rexulti. My BMI is over 25. My doctor says the sugar cravings and impulsive shopping are a good sign because it's dopamine-seeking activity. My mental health is better than it has been in years, and I'm going to be stopping this medication because of its detrimental effects on my weight, blood sugar, cholesterol, and self-esteem. I don't even recognize my own body anymore. Not how it looks and not how it feels to move around in it. I almost wish I'd never experienced this because it feels like a tragedy to find something that works so well and not be able to keep taking it. It's, quite ironically, super depressing."

For Schizophrenia "My daughter was taking Abilify for 6 years, and they switched her to this drug, Rexulti, because they said it had fewer weight gain issues. At first, it worked great for about 8 weeks, then just stopped working. She developed hiccups on and off with this medication, and her body temperature was going hot and cold. She then became very confused and could not focus, then extremely depressed, and I took her to the emergency room where, 16 hours later, she had a grand mal seizure. Don’t take this medication, I don’t think they’ve done enough research on it, and it is still too new. My daughter was in the hospital for 2 1/2 weeks and still is unable to think properly or focus on anything and is still experiencing hiccups on and off now. I hope and pray she recovers. She was in college getting straight A’s before this."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I would give this drug a 10 if it didn't make me gain a little weight. I have had depression my whole life and also have ADD and OCD. It seems to be helping with my depression and my OCD. I am not taking any other antidepressants, and maybe that is the key. I know it's supposed to be an add-on, but my doctor said I could take it alone. I am also taking Sam-e, which only helps a bit. I have been taking Rexulti for only about a month. It started working after only a few days, and I hope it doesn't stop working. I have taken so many other antidepressants, all with side effects, or they only worked for a while. I have even had transcranial magnetic stimulation, and it didn't work for me. :("

For Major Depressive Disorder "Has helped me in stopping self-harming behaviors such as cutting, hitting, and starving myself. No other medication has done this for me. After 10 years of trying different medicines and on-and-off-again treatment, at 23 I am finally in a stable place."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have tried this medication as an add-on to Lexapro twice in the past year. Both times, I felt an immediate (within 3 days) change/improvement. I started at 0.5 mg and stopped because of weight gain. After several months of unrelenting depression and strong suicidal thoughts/intentions despite exercise and avoiding alcohol, I knew I had to try it again. Now I am on 1 mg and feel quite good. I am sleeping pretty much through the night, except when hormonal, but that has been a consistent experience. Overall, I do use less Xanax on this medication. My appetite has increased but has leveled off. My physical exercise routine has also increased, so I would say that I've only gained about 3-4 lbs total, whereas before I had gained about 7-9 lbs previously."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have been on antidepressants to control my GAD, panic attacks, and severe MDD for 16 years. Recently, I started with Serzone as the base antidepressant to avoid sexual side effects. It did nothing for sleep and was not really effective for depression or anxiety. Klonopin use went up to cope as I tried to learn 'tools.' Eventually, my psych added Risperidone for sleep, which didn't do much but did raise my prolactin levels, so my already low libido dropped further. He took me off Risperidone and added Gabapentin, which did start to help a little with sleep, and then added Remeron, which then finally brought my sleep into balance. But... the last critical piece was the Rexulti. For me, it was instantly effective at just one day to stop those body sensations of anxiety without any trigger, cause, or circumstance. I now finally felt calm and like I could actually live life. My interest in things increased and at day 5, continues to do so. Rexulti was like a light switch."

For Schizophrenia "This drug has almost completely halted all hallucinations (I have schizoaffective disorder). To my knowledge, I am not delusional, and I seem to be able to follow conversations better. I have tried five other antipsychotics, and none were even half as effective. Also, I have no side effects! Six months in, and I will never go off. Four mg daily."
