For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "Some of these reviews had me worried because I hate side effects, but the throat was so painful I had to try it. Glad I did, I'm now on day 9 of two times daily, and the infection is gone, no pain. No side effects at all. No nausea, no diarrhea, no headaches. Worked well."

For Bronchitis "I have sinusitis and bronchitis at the same time. I have been in so much pain in my head and chest for the past 5 days, so my doctor prescribed me amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium tablets 875 mg and 125 mg. This medicine has caused dizziness, nausea, exhaustion, and weakness."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Sinusitis "Was put on this for an ear and sinus infection. By my second day, I was having bad stomach cramps, excessive bowel movements, some diarrhea, nausea, body aches, joint pain, fatigue, brain fog, nerve tingling in legs and feet, constant headache. Also, I began spotting on my second day, and it was one week before my period was due, this never happens. I spotted until my period started. I have three more days left, and I feel worse than I did before I started it. My ear isn’t completely better yet either, my sinuses have cleared up some but not all the way. I called my doctor, and he said he is hesitant to change my script as my infection was/is so bad, and asked that I just push through side effects. Never again!"

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I started this 6 days ago for an infection from a knife cut on my thumb knuckle. It seemed to work, and swelling is down, however, I was advised to stop using it due to the side effects. Severe nausea upon waking, chills, agitation, unable to keep still yet tired, lightheaded and fatigued. The panic attacks and constant catastrophic thinking really made me need to stop this med. I hope it killed the infection because I think I may need a medicated coma for my next round."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Bacterial Infection "Taking this for an unknown bacterial infection - confirmed with CBC, but I personally suspect it's early onset of appendicitis. I'm on a pretty high dose according to my doc (500 mg 3x daily), and oh man. The brain fog is maybe the worst symptom. It starts in about an hour after taking it and settles in for a few hours. It just feels hard to focus on anything, like my vision is blurred almost. Between that and the insomnia, nausea if I eat food anytime between doses, and diarrhea, what a fun medication!! Loss of appetite too I've noticed. I think it's increased my anxiety too, but I'm a bit of a hypochondriac to begin with, so I don't know, my anxiety might be increased just because this drug is whacky. I'm on this thing for 10 days. Today is day 3. Noticed an improvement in my infection symptoms I think? Much less abdominal pain, but it's hard to get a good gauge on that when you're having diarrhea so much!!"

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I was prescribed Augmentin for what my doctor thought was a skin infection on my right leg. Well, after taking my first dose, within 2 hours, my stomach became extremely upset... burning... nausea... diarrhea... bloating... and anxiety and panic have always been an issue for me, but after Augmentin, it was immediately 20 times worse. My doctor ended up telling me to stop taking it on day 5 because it was getting worse and worse. My skin infection cleared up with some hydrocortisone cream and antibiotic ointment, but it's been over 3 months since stopping this medication, and I'm still having major stomach issues and mental issues, so please be careful, people, especially if you have anxiety or stomach issues beforehand."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Sinusitis "Was prescribed the 875 mg for 2 weeks for sinuses. I developed progressively bad nausea starting day 6. Yesterday, drank water when feeling like I'd throw up, and it helped. Couldn't get to any in time today and threw up for the first time in decades. Don't know if water would have prevented that. I do try to drink a lot of water while on it, but it is difficult when you feel so bloated. Nausea peaks around three hours after taking. I've never had any problems with medication before. Will try to persevere with 5 days left and also try to not be away from home at peak symptom time. If I need antibiotics again, I will certainly ask for something different."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Middle Ear Infections "I took 875 mg 2 x per day. It cleared up my ear infection, however, I had diarrhea for most of the 4 days I was taking it. It was a constant diarrhea too, and a few times it just happened, I wasn’t able to control it. I took it with a probiotic each day. I felt nauseous each day and each time I took it. I also felt very out of sorts mentally and felt like I struggled with doing my job and felt anxiety. The day I didn’t take it during work, I felt much better and back to normal. I dropped it after five days and do not intend to take it again. This was a terrible experience."

For Sinusitis "On day 4 with no relief. I have had sinusitis now for 4 weeks. I first got prescribed amoxicillin 800, which seemed to knock out the infection after just a few days on it. No side effects with amoxicillin. 5 days after completing my antibiotics, the symptoms quickly came back but worse this time. Now on this antibiotic - severe headaches which linger all day, severe nausea, loss of appetite which has led me to not eat as much and lost 4 pounds in 2 days. Extremely sleepy all throughout the day. Almost wish I never tried this antibiotic!"

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Sinusitis "So today I started Augmentin, and I’m 18. After I took it, I felt lightheaded and very nauseous. Like so nauseous I was burping a lot. I haven’t made a bowel movement since I’ve taken it, so I don’t know if I have diarrhea. My stomach just hurts. Should I stop taking it?"

For Sinusitis "I have had a bad ear infection and sinus problem for 6 months. Sneezing attacks. Went to my Dr. and he prescribed me this medicine. I've been on it 3 days and already I feel relief, no sneezing, I can actually breathe through my nose again, ear seems to be less drainage. Only downfall is I am nauseous. So I eat something and take Zofran/generic. It helps for a few hours, but I have to take it and eat continually so I don't vomit. I weigh the odds: 'stay sick' or 'tough it out' at least a week to ten days and get well."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Sinusitis "Prescribed 2000 mg spread over two tablets a day for sinusitis. Lasted 2 days on the medication and had to stop. Severe nausea and wretched general ill feeling, incredibly upset stomach with excessive bowel movements, to the point mucus was being passed. Thrush and exposure to further infection resulted. Doctor took me off them with immediate effect and being put on something else tomorrow."

For Sinusitis "Have had sinusitis and severe headaches full on for a year. Tried every home remedy available. Finally saw an ENT in March who prescribed Amoxicillin-Clav. I tried for 3 days, and the side effects are horrifying. I followed the directions and ate before I took it. Doesn't matter, gas, bloating, and nauseous for 3 whole days. Back to home remedies for a while, but I am still sick. So I am giving this Amox-Clav another try. I have been throwing up for 3 days. This drug must be very hard on your stomach and liver and would definitely not recommend this if you have to work or have kids to care for."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Middle Ear Infections "This drug was prescribed for my 2.5-year-old for acute otitis media serous. The first two days were great, and he felt better within hours of taking it, but by the third day, his stomach was so messed up. Took probiotics and gave yogurt, but 4 blowout diapers in a matter of hours, followed by nausea, and his booty was so red that he couldn't even sit down. The side effects were too severe, and had to take him off as his little system could not withstand 10 days of it."

For Urinary Tract Infection "Went to a doctor's and was initially prescribed Trimethoprim for a UTI, but following a 3-day course developed a temperature and vomiting, so was admitted to the hospital, and they prescribed me Amoxiclav 3 times a day for 10 days. Absolutely vile stuff, think out of the 8 tablets I vomited violently after 5, and the other 3 I was sat there clutching a sick bowl, feeling like I was going to vomit for hours. I've spoken to my doctor, and now been changed to Ciprofloxacin, so fingers crossed I have more luck on this one. But would not recommend Amoxiclav one bit, made me feel 400 times worse than I already did."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I was prescribed this twice a day for 7 days. I'm halfway through, and I recently developed severe headaches, decreased appetite, decreased urination, and shortness of breath. No diarrhea yet, but I did feel nauseous this morning. I hope not to get diarrhea because I'm trying to heal an anal fissure. I tested negative for some common STDs, so I don't know what I have, but my groin lymph nodes still seem to be swollen. :/"

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "I was prescribed Augmentin several months ago for a severe sinus and upper respiratory infection. Eight days into a 10-day course, I was even more sick than when I started. I ended up on Levaquin and steroids for 14 days as a result. Once again, a few days ago, my primary care prescribed Augmentin for another sinus and UTI despite my protests. Within two days, my chest is considerably worse, and I am also experiencing terrible stomach pain and nausea. I will be on the phone tomorrow insisting on a new medication."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "I have always had bad sinusitis, this time it led to my ear, nose, throat, and eyes. I had to do something. I was prescribed Augmentin 875 mg bid for 10 days. (I received Amox/Clav.) It has not cleared anything up, and not to mention, tonight I have severe nausea and thrush. Luckily, I have a prescription for nausea on hand. I do not recommend this medicine."

For Sinusitis "My problem is I'll always get a yeast infection on this drug, no matter how much yogurt and probiotic pills I take. It also will make me a little sick to my stomach if I don't eat something with it. Otherwise, as long as I really have a sinus infection, it takes care of it."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Middle Ear Infections "I have a chronic otitis media problem which I have had since I was 14 (I am now 37), and the 1 gm dose of Augmentin for a week, 1 tablet daily, is by far the best solution for me. Experienced a bit of nausea, but it's not so bad. This is the best antibiotic for my otitis media condition for now. Love it!!!"

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Bacterial Infection "I was prescribed Augmentin for a dental infection/tooth abscess. When I went to the dentist, I had already been on 3 or 4 days of penicillin. The penicillin didn't seem to be clearing the infection, and the dentist couldn't get me in for a root canal for another week. There, Augmentin came into play. The first dose I took on an empty stomach (couldn't eat with my throbbing face). So I had some nausea and just figured it was normal. The next dose I took with food, as directed. I puked viciously. I took another dose or two and had similar results... so much nausea and vomiting, it was hard to appreciate the fact my face wasn't throbbing. So it works well on infections, hard on the stomach though."

For Sinusitis "I had a severe sinus infection. And although I needed an antibiotic to get rid of the infection, this is the worst antibiotic I have ever taken! I was prescribed 20 tablets - 10 days, 2 a day. On about day 7, I started having horrible stomach pains, both upper and lower, and felt absolutely nauseated, with little strength due to the nausea. I had never seen a mixture of amoxicillin and potassium together. Something seems terribly wrong with this script. I was always good with just plain antibiotic 'amoxicillin'. What's going on here? Drug companies trying to poison us? Because that is what it feels like. I'm glad I'm done with the prescription and will know better next time. BTW, a friend went through the same thing. Coincidence? Nahhh!"

For Sinusitis "Last Saturday (Jan 30, 2017), I started taking this medicine. First dose was at 12 p.m., and then at 8 p.m. By Sunday morning, I was feeling nauseous. I took my three doses that day because the sick feeling was just on and off, so I attributed the sickness to one of the meals. By 10 p.m. Sunday, I was so nauseous I went to sleep. It was the worst night ever. I threw up so much and so many times, it felt like even my soul almost went down the toilet. Next day (Monday 1/1/18), I was convinced it was the medicine, so I didn't take it. I was nauseous all day, sipping on water hoping it wouldn't come up. By Tuesday morning, I felt better and was able to start eating again. I will never in my life take this medicine again."
