For Insomnia "I have used triazolam going on 3 years. All other sleeping meds did not work or worked for a week or two. I get 5-5 1/2 straight hours of sleep. I am also able to get up and go back to sleep for an hour or two later. My new pharmacist a few months ago refused to give me my prescribed medication, stating her own feelings about this drug. This was battled for a couple of months until CVS relented through me complaining to corporate. I have had zero adverse effects while on or after I awake. Only taken once late at night for sleep at a dose of .25 mg. While off when denied, I tried zolpidem 12.5 mg, which barely got me sleep using it."

For Insomnia "Triazolam (Halcion) is great. In 10 years of use, I have never built up tolerance to it but only use it when required, on average, 5 nights a week. I break my 0.25 mg in half and make sure that I am as relaxed as possible when taking it. There appears, for me anyhow, to be a threshold of about 15 to 30 minutes after taking it where, if you get involved in stressful activity, its effectiveness is reduced dramatically. Best used in conjunction with relaxation techniques."

Triazolam for Insomnia "I had insomnia for over 72 hours. Halcion fixed it immediately. The bad news is they only gave a week's worth, and then the Dr. went on vacation, and his stand-in refused to refill. I had 2 days of insomnia after that, and then it passed."

For Insomnia "I have been taking Triazolam for a year now for severe insomnia caused by anxiety and mental health problems. I tried everything else before my doctor prescribed it (Trazodone, Z-drugs, Temazepam). Be aware that it has a bad reputation, and many doctors will refuse to prescribe this for insomnia treatment. It works very fast within 15-30 minutes. I also like the fact that it comes in tablets, and I can take half if I need to. However, like other benzodiazepines, I have noticed that there is a difference in effectiveness with different generic brands. In addition, it is relatively expensive for a generic medication, and keep in mind many insurances will not cover this or will have limits on how many tablets they will pay for."

For Insomnia "I have been taking it since 2004, always excellent for a good night's sleep. It's really a hypno-drug, take 1, get yourself horizontal, and you're asleep. Wake up refreshed and ready to go. I quit taking it for about a year, but the benefits of the triazolam and getting restful sleep were even better. It wasn't hard to stop taking, sometimes I take less."

Triazolam for Insomnia "Works well for sleep. However, I'm prescribed it for nocturnal panic attacks (panic that wakes me up), and it definitely does the trick. I gave it 9/10 because I will actually end up having an attack shortly after it kicks in. Usually lasts 5-10 minutes before I fall asleep."

For Insomnia "I have used this medication for many years. It was started when I was hospitalized for depression. Many other medications were tried with no effect. Halcion (triazolam) helps to get to sleep, but because of chronic pain, I wake frequently during the night. This medication has helped me quite a bit, some sleep is better than none."

For Insomnia "Best sleep medication on the market! Don't understand why all the doctors are being told to get people off this medication. It is far better than antidepressants. The doctors are only pushing antidepressants because they are getting paybacks for prescribing zombie medication."

For Insomnia "I prefer triazolam to any other pill for sleeping. I take only one half pill and only on occasion. I have never had any problem with this drug. My only problem is that no doctor will prescribe it for me!"

For Insomnia "I have used triazolam for about 2.5 years for insomnia. This is the only sleeping pill that works for me. Unfortunately, my insurance does not cover this. At first, it cost $72 a month, but with deals, I can now get it for $38. I use it in combination with over-the-counter items that calm me down, so when I take this 0.25 mg pill, I can get some decent sleep (6-7 hrs.). So far, it has not given me any bad aftereffects. Hopefully, someday I can sleep without this med."

For Insomnia "Exceptional! For me, it takes between 1 and 2 hours to fall asleep. Therefore, take well before getting into bed. Once asleep, I wake up in approximately 6 hours completely refreshed. I concur with the others: do not let your prescriber talk you out of using this extremely effective medication. PS I only use this medication on an as-needed basis (2-3 times per month) and do not have any underlying conditions."

Triazolam for Insomnia "For me, at the recommended dose of 0.25 mg, this drug is good for a 2-hour nap. It works to get to sleep, but not stay asleep. The half-life is way too short. It wears off too quickly. I have to take 0.5 mg (then another 0.25 - 0.5 mg when I wake up in 2 to 3 hours) to get a decent night's sleep. There are many better benzodiazepines for sleep. Even Xanax (which isn't indicated for sleep) works better, diazepam is better, temazepam is better. It's also fairly expensive (almost $3 per 0.25 mg pill)."

For Insomnia "Halcion/Triazolam has helped me sleep and fall back asleep without feeling groggy at night or the next day. I take my anxiety medication during the day 3x daily. This should be given when all options fail. It is a failure on the mental health professionals or insurance companies that make prescribing Triazolam difficult by needing a prior authorization or their excuses. It works. No side effects. Been taking for 14 years. Same dose, 2 at night, or I take less if I know 2 is not needed. This is THE ONLY SLEEPING MEDICATION THAT WORKS WITH NO SIDE EFFECTS… If you are on a benzo already, you don't have to worry about being dependent on it. It WORKS FOR SLEEP. PROFESSIONALS NEED TO HELP PEOPLE SLEEP. THIS OLD SCHOOL MEDICATION WORKS."

Triazolam for Insomnia "I've taken Halcion for at least 10 years at this point. I take the lowest dose at 0.125 most. I love that it's fast-acting to put me to sleep and also keep me asleep. The only time that I have ever increased the dose is when I've had an anxiety attack from PTSD... never for sleep. That's always been 0.125. I love that I don't wake up groggy or sluggish. Just awake and fresh and ready to go. Still works after 10 years with no increase for sleep."

For Insomnia "When I would travel more than 10 time zones from home for work, I would take it to recover from the jet lag. I would take the usual dose to go to sleep quickly. I would only use it for up to two days after trips to return home or when I went back to my country to work. I never noticed any ill effects from this product."

For Insomnia "I have been taking Triazolam for 6 years. Without it, I cannot sleep. It usually gives me 6 hours of straight sleep. The first 4 years, I could not really take a nap. Now, if tired, I can. I wake anywhere from 5-6+ hours and, if needed, back to sleep. After about 10-15 minutes of waking, I go about my day normally with no side effects. Also, taking Melatonin gummies before Triazolam helps calm me. You should be careful taking pain meds with this. Make sure you ask your doctor about taking this pill. Many will not prescribe it. It comes in 0.125 or 0.25 mg strengths."

Triazolam for Insomnia "2 things make it the best insomnia med for me. 1. Fastest acting, take 2 .25 mg pills, and you will be asleep 15 mins later. 2. Because it's quickest acting, shortest duration... Meaning its effect is completely gone when you wake up in the morning. All other sleep meds left me still feeling groggy in the AM. Not with Halcion. A side note, because it's so quick acting, its strength is 'knocking you out'... not keeping you out. For some people that have trouble staying asleep, this may not be the best med for you. For me, whether I take an insomnia sleeping pill or not, once I am asleep, I never have trouble staying asleep. If I get up to pee, I always fall back to sleep immediately. Again, nothing else will put you to sleep faster, and the only med that will be totally out of your body in the AM, leaving you fresh as a daisy."

For Insomnia "So I've had sleep issues my entire adult life. I've tried almost everything, starting from Seroquel, moving on to Ambien, then Valium, then Temazepam, then on to Halcion... The best by far in terms of solving my insomnia issue was definitely Halcion. But I only took it sparingly (0.25 mg was my dose x2 at night). If you think there is any euphoria, you are sadly mistaken."

"This medication will definitely help you sleep. I have used triazolam off and on over the last 6 years. Every time, I have had many occasions where some were missing. I originally thought someone else was taking them from me. After I read that sleepwalking, driving, and other activities are side effects of triazolam, I have realized that it is me. I have been told that I get up in the night, yet I have no recollection of any of this. I have had a rash and intense itching that appears to be caused by taking too much of the triazolam. Over the last eight days, I have apparently taken additional pills during the night that total an excess of 8 pills. This does not happen every night. However, some nights I apparently take more than two."

For Insomnia "First time on this medication. I don't see why it works for me, everybody is different. I took it an hour before my dental appointment. It relaxes your body, but I still felt everything-the dentist's movements-and plus there wasn't any sleep for me. I was wide awake. It's okay, but I prefer IV sedation. Thank you."

For Insomnia "Been dealing with severe insomnia (onset and waking up after 3 hrs) for 16 months, every day. Never had this problem or any other mental health issue in life. I'll be 33 soon. I have tried over 15 meds, and nothing has gotten me more than 5 hours of straight sleep. Trazodone, Remeron, Ambien, Lunesta, Sonata, Restoril, Halcion, Doxepin, Pamelor, sleep/behavior therapy (CBT), and others. This Halcion was prescribed as a last hope and did basically nothing. Took over an hour to 'kick in.' I fell asleep eventually but woke up after 3 hrs wide awake as usual. Gonna go the all-natural route since I have to."

For Insomnia "I was given triazolam to prevent anxiety during an MRI scan. It did not help my anxiety. I relied on every tool I had to get through the nightmare of being claustrophobic on my own. With panic disorder and PTSD, this was terror for me. I slept about 4 hours after I got home, and when I woke up, I felt like I was in my PTSD nightmare again. It has been 18 hours now, I still feel horrible. My hands are shaking, it's still hard to breathe, and mentally I feel worse than I have in years... awful, awful."

For Insomnia "As someone who has been suffering from chronic insomnia for many years (since I was around 15), I have tried almost OTC, prescription, and herbs for it, and at most, they would knock me out for 3 hours at most, or it was the equivalent of taking nothing at all. This past week, I was prescribed Halcion as a more potent option to test out and see how it worked, and oh my goodness, from what I’ve experienced so far, this medication is a LIFE SAVER!! I take x1 .25 mg at night, and I’m asleep within 30 minutes, and I actually STAY ASLEEP. Going from 3-4 hours of sleep a night for 5-6 months to 7-8 hours just by taking this pill has been the biggest help in my life so far. I have energy during the day, and I can actually do what I need to and take care of my responsibilities without feeling like I just want to go back to bed. However, this medication is extremely potent, so if you are considering taking it, make sure that once you take it, you STAY IN BED."

Triazolam for Insomnia "I had to have gum graft surgery, and I was very terrified for it, so I was prescribed 0.25 mg of it to help me relax and calm down, and if I needed the second dosage, I could take that too. I took both pills (0.25 mg) each and felt nothing. It didn’t relax me or sedate me in the slightest. It made the whole surgery a worse experience because I guess the dosage was too low."

Triazolam "Took a pill to help with dental work anxiety. I barely remember anything from the work (which is what I wanted). I went home and slept for 5 hours! Then the next week, I had to do the other side of my mouth and took one for that. I do have more memory from that, but no pain, and it was easy. Went home and slept 6 hours."
