For Anxiety "I've been using this drug for about 4 months to help combat insomnia and anxiety, and it works, but not in the best way... For insomnia, this is the ONLY drug that manages to knock me out for about 8 or 9 hours straight, but when you wake up the next morning, prepare to feel groggy and disoriented for at least 5 hours the next day, which is way too long to feel this way, IMHO. For anxiety, you don't feel ANY anxiety while on this drug, but that's because this drug makes you so groggy and tired that you can't really think of anything while on this drug. My advice, take this drug ONLY occasionally, not every night like I did. I'm quitting this drug tonight."

For Insomnia "Was physically dependent on Ambien after a year relying on the drug, I couldn't sleep anymore. Took one trazodone and fell asleep, no problem, with little morning drowsiness. I can now sleep naturally again, thanks to this drug."

For Depression "My doctor prescribed this since Prozac and Brintellix wiped me out sexually. Apart from the issue with libido, Prozac suited me perfectly, not so however this drug, Trazodone. I was told to take 150 mg, which in the light of these reviews seems extreme considering my sensitivity to drugs and my body weight, being petite. As instructed, I took it five hours before bedtime. I then slept like a zombie for ten hours and woke feeling groggy with super spaced-out eyes the next morning. I felt heavy, drugged, and seemed to have lost my sense of balance. It took till lunchtime to feel vaguely normal again. While I do not doubt this would prevent the panic attacks as you would be too out of it to panic, whatever the issue, nuclear attack, invasion of the body snatchers, aliens abducting your children. I had no intention of suffering such extreme side effects. Consequently, I did not take it again. The search goes on for the perfect drug. It most definitely is not this one."

For Anxiety "My doctor prescribed Trazodone for insomnia recently, and it has helped better than any of the previous medicines prescribed. Elavil was first, but I still woke up throughout the night and in the morning had that groggy feeling in my head that was hard to shake. The Trazodone is working best if I take half before bed, and when I wake in the middle of the night, I take the other half of a 50 mg tablet. I was taking Ambien, and it made me sleepy enough to doze off, but I would wake up every two hours and had trouble falling back to sleep. So far, Trazodone is the best for me for insomnia. I still wake up after a few hours, but can go back to sleep after taking the other half. Hope this helps someone! I know how bad insomnia is!"

For Insomnia "I work 3rd shift and was having a problem sleeping. My doctor prescribed 50 mg of trazodone and told me to take it with my 1 mg of clonazepam. That was over 8 hours ago. I am wide awake, never caused any drowsiness, in fact, right the opposite, so this has been a miserable day! Has anyone else experienced this? Trazodone having the opposite effect?"

For Insomnia "I am a 57-year-old woman. Had been on Ambien for years. Finally got to the point where I was waking up several times and eating all through the night. Have fought weight issues my entire life so could not deal with the ongoing weight gain, not to mention being perpetually exhausted. I then tried Temazepam which worked for a few weeks, but then I started waking up during the night. My doctor recently prescribed Trazodone 50 mg. The first three nights were horrible. It took me forever to go to sleep, and I woke up every few hours, tossing and turning. The past three nights I have slept better than I have in years. 7 to 8 hours a night!! No grogginess in the morning. Feel rested and happy. I'm in heaven!!"

For Insomnia "I was prescribed 1/2 or a full 50 mg for insomnia related to mild anxiety. That dose didn't work, so I upped it to 75 mg, and it made me so stoned but not sleepy at all. Just frustrated and crying my eyes out. I've tried it a couple of times, and the most sleep I got was 3-4 hours of uneasy sleep. I woke up with a pounding heart, groggy and depressed. I can get that much sleep on my own without the horrible side effects. Not for me, but everyone is different."

For Insomnia "I've been taking trazodone for about 4 years. I started because my mind would not settle down enough at night to allow me to go to sleep. Trazodone at 50 mg doesn't knock me out or make me so sleepy I can't stay awake, but it absolutely settles my mind enough that I can lay down and sleep. Yes, I'm a little groggy when I first open my eyes, but within an hour, I'm wide awake and looking forward to another night's sleep."

For Insomnia "I was prescribed Trazodone after menopause when insomnia kicked in. I've been taking 25-50 mg a night for 6 years. It works well, 20-minute onset. I'm not groggy in the morning and it helps with my anxiety. My mother took it for 15 years. It's an awesome drug for us."

Trazodone for Major Depressive Disorder "I like it. I took original Trazodone and it made me way too drowsy, but as this is slow-release, I take it in the morning and feel calm all day. I'm actually using it for panic and obsessive-compulsive disorder and depression."

For Sedation "For the longest time, I have always had little sleep. After being prescribed sertraline and trazodone to help me sleep, I have noticed a big improvement in my sleeping habits. I get 9 hours of sleep, and I actually stay asleep. The downside for me is that I feel tired and groggy throughout the day. Hopefully, I will find a new way to not feel this way, which I will share. I take 100 mg before I go to sleep."

For Insomnia "Alright guys! If you are thinking about starting the use of Trazodone for your insomnia, go ahead and take it without a second thought. It definitely changed my life a hundred times better. I was having mild insomnia, but it then progressed to severe insomnia, and I had to break the loop. Natural supplements don't do the trick when your body is used to sleeping so little. Take Trazodone and slowly wean off when your body starts sleeping better. And yeah, no side effects (the first week was bad headaches and grogginess, but they go away)."

For Anxiety "I started taking Trazodone as my anxiety was so bad it was keeping me from sleeping. I started small, taking only half of the 50 mg pill, and worked my way up to a level I now take every night. I never exceed one and a half pills, though, I found that if I take too much, waking up the next morning is rough, and I feel like a zombie. But all in all, my sleep schedule has been regular since I started taking Trazodone. There are even some nights where I don't have to take it at all, especially since starting therapy. I enjoy the fact that Trazodone isn't addictive."

For Insomnia "I have had trouble sleeping since junior high school. Tried everything under the sun. Started taking trazodone for less than a week. I do fall asleep within half an hour of taking 50 mg, what a life saver, but I do wake up a little 'out of it'. I do sleep through the night."

For Insomnia "I began taking Trazodone to help with insomnia about two months ago. The first time I took 25 mg (cut the 50 mg pill in half) and it worked getting me to sleep, but left me groggy the next day. The next time I tried 12.5 mg by cutting the 25 mg section in half, and that amount helps me get to sleep and leaves me feeling normal in the morning. I was suffering from a bad bout of two months of insomnia. Trazodone saved me!"

For Insomnia "I've slowly gone up from 100 to 150, etc., to where I am now at 450 mg each night. Between the doctor that originally put me on it to the newish doctor, they messed up my dosage, but I'm back to 450 mg now. During the times of the mess-up, I would run out of trazodone and stay up for days on end until I finally caved and went to the local pharmacy and was buying everything that I used to take over the counter. I got zero relief... I highly recommend this medication... From being upped on the dosage for the past many, many years, it does make you feel groggy to begin with, but only lasts about a week maximum two."

For Anxiety "Having taken other medications in the past for severe anxiety, my experiences did vary from sleeplessness to complete and utter loopiness (without control of all my mental faculties). This medicine, taken at night, however, I had noticed that the adjustment takes about ten to fifteen days, is absolutely wonderful, and very effective for my condition. My only regret is that I hadn't discovered it five years ago."

For Insomnia "Absolute godsend, for years, I have been fighting with insomnia and have been on many things, including benzos. I was nervous about trying this after reading reviews, it seems it is either great or horrible, with no in-between. Luckily for me, it worked. I feel a bit groggy in the morning, but it’s no big deal, and other than that, there are no side effects. Do not be put off if this does not improve sleep in the first few days, it never did for me, but after a week at most, wow, what a difference! I currently take 100 mg an hour to an hour and a half before bed."

For Insomnia "Six years after becoming abstinent from illicit narcotics, including opiates, I still had not learned to sleep. I managed to learn how to fall asleep sometimes but could not stay asleep. I was prescribed 150 mg trazodone as a safe option for someone with a history of substance misuse. Put simply, it works for sleeping, has no recreational use potential, and after 7 months, no need to up the dose. In fact, I reduced it to 75 mg very quickly as it reduced some early side effects, such as blurred vision and a groggy feeling. I have noticed a small drop in general energy but also a drop in anxiety. Sleeping 1-3 hours a night created a kind of nervous energy. Ideally, I would prefer not to take medication, however, this works and is safe for me."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have been prescribed this medicine to help with mental disorders, along with other meds. I've been on all doses, and right now 250 mg is working alright. If I was not on this med, I'd never sleep and be awake with horrible nightmares and flashbacks. (My son passed away, and nothing has been the same since.) I'm happy with these meds and the ability to sleep again. The med can cause drowsiness, so take it at night. I take several sleeping meds, and I am out within 30 minutes. I hope my review helps others."

For Insomnia "I developed insomnia after severe bronchitis. I take 50 mg at bedtime daily and get 6 or 7 hours of sleep. In the first month, I felt groggy for a few hours after sleep, but that has faded. It works great for me, I am 65 years old."

For Anxiety "In 2015, the Paxil I had been on for 11 years stopped working. So, I was put on an SNRI because my doctor felt SSRIs weren't working anymore for me after trying a few and were not helping. The Pristiq I was on helped maybe 50%, but I was still very sick. I was then prescribed Trazodone, and whatever panic attacks I had were gone. The grogginess was pretty severe for me, so I was then prescribed Wellbutrin. It's helped me wake up. So, all three seem to balance each other for my depression, panic, and sleep disorders, and overall general mood. Another thing I've noticed is that Trazodone is still effective after 8 years at 50mg. I recommend Trazodone if other medications have stopped responding or if you have a combination of sleep and depression/anxiety."

For Insomnia "I have tried a number of herbs, supplements, OTC, and prescription medications for insomnia, including hops, passionflower, valerian, kava kava, melatonin, GABA, 5-HTP, L-tryptophan, Benadryl, Unisom, Klonopin, Ativan, and Ambien, and have found that trazodone is the best for me. The herbs and supplements weren't strong enough, melatonin gave me horrible nightmares, OTC sleep aids made me too drowsy the next day, and the benzos and Ambien stopped working. I take 50 mg of trazodone before bed and fall asleep in about half an hour. It's true I am a bit drowsy the next morning, but it soon goes away and the drowsiness is less intense than the drowsiness from the other kinds of medicines I have tried. Trazodone is also very inexpensive."
