Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been taking Mounjaro for three years. Side effects in the beginning were pretty bad. I had stomach issues that took time and trials to get under control. I also was uncomfortably cold. The stigma of losing weight was a new thing for me. Family thought I had an eating disorder. I vomited a lot in the first year. I lost 70 pounds. I have just reached the 50 lb threshold or just under 20% of my body weight lost. The drug is not a magic potion as you still have to eat the right calorie foods, but the drug makes it much easier as I am really never very hungry and fill up quicker. My biggest struggle has been wanting to snack at night from boredom. As for side effects, I belch more, early on, I experienced some upset stomach but found if I eat a few crackers with peanut butter, I feel a lot better.
