Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Mounjaro since April 24. Started on 5 mg because I was on Trulicity, which gave me severe stomach pains. Was on 10 mg before weight loss started. I’m 5’0”, lost 46 lbs, and A1C is 5.8. I now take 7.5 mg to avoid more weight loss. Hoping this will be my maintenance dose. Had very mild side effects initially, now just a little constipated, but coffee cures that. Feel better about myself. Very happy. Wish this came out years ago. Been diabetic since 42. Was unable to control both for a long time. Now I’m 68, and Mounjaro has made a believer out of me. I tell everyone about it that will listen. It affects everyone differently, so don’t always listen to the naysayers. Try for yourself."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Lost 60 pounds in 4 months. Stomach pain and alternating diarrhea and constipation. I had recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes with an A1C of 6.6. Now my A1C is down to 5.5. My sleep apnea went from 27 incidents per hour to less than 2 per hour. I just started taking the 10 dosage. Every time I up my dosage, I have a few days of bad side effects, especially stomach pain, but after a while, they lessen, however, diarrhea or constipation never stops."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am 45 years old and female. I have been on Zepbound for eight months. I started at 275 lbs and am now at 235 lbs. The day after I first took it, my stomach was so full it hurt, just from my normal portion sizes. Over time, the dosage has increased to 7.5. I am a little more tired than usual, but that's a small price to pay. The vast majority of side effects occur when I overeat. There's no way to know which of these I will have then: pain in my stomach, egg burps, loud flatulence, and/or diarrhea. I have been sick a lot more than usual, along with swollen lymph nodes and hoarseness, but there's no way to know if they're related or not."

Tirzepatide "I have diarrhea, lower stomach pain, dry heaves every time I eat. I also have back pain, but that is not unusual. This pain might be a little different though. I didn't know to tell my doctor that I have had a vein occlusion in my right eye quite a few years ago. I don't know if that is important or not. I don't think I am reading as well. Not sure."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Severe nausea and stomach pain within the first 2 days of taking, then settles the next 5. Always feel a pressure in the stomach - not pain, not really uncomfortable, just a noticeable presence. Constipation for 4-6 days despite taking extra fiber and water."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started taking tirzepatide in June 2024 at a max of 10 mg and lost 66 pounds without working out. Side effects were an itchy, warm rash at injection sites, which I was told was a mild allergic reaction. Extreme fatigue, couldn’t work out, get up from the couch, or even go up the stairs. It never really went away. Extreme nausea every time I went up a dosage or overate. Lots of stomach pains, mostly in the beginning because I was still trying to eat what I normally do and got full way too easily. Can only eat one small meal a day. Easily dehydrated, still trying to work on that. Heart rate lowered significantly and I still don’t know why. Still taking it as of now, 2025, but I think I would have rather stayed at 7.5 mg because it was more comfortable, just lost less weight that way. Unfortunately, I know for a fact that I’d gain some weight back if I stopped taking it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have had no issues with my dose or injections of tirzepatide. I feel it is doing what it is supposed to. I have been on it for 7 weeks and have lost 10 lbs. I started on a low dose, then it was upped a bit the second month. So far, it helps control my appetite and gives me energy. I do feel minor side effects of stomach pain, but only when I eat too many carbs or food in general. It definitely is working well for me. I get mine compounded and sent to me. I inject myself once a week on Saturdays."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Dosage was increased from 10 mg to 12.5 mg. I have started having severe stomach pains lasting three or more days. I have also started having episodes of shortness of breath and dizziness when doing simple things like walking to the mailbox. None of these were issues before. Glucose readings are always in the normal range for the last two years. The physician's main concern has been an elevated A1C. I am currently on a high dose of steroids due to a liver issue."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "So far, so good until yesterday. I think I ate too much, and then the stomach pain started, and diarrhea followed all night. As I tried to ingest water, I became nauseous and had to throw up, but that decreased the pain. I think I’m just getting used to the drug since this was my first dose of 7.5 mg pen."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Been on 2.5 for 4 weeks. Lost 8 lbs in 3 weeks. Good appetite suppression already. But no loss this week. This last injection has given me horrendous stomach pains for the last 3 days. Worried about upping to 5 mg."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "When I first started taking Mounjaro, I didn't feel like eating at all, and I started to lose weight quickly. In fact, I lost 9 pounds in two weeks. I had diarrhea about three times a day in the beginning, it wasn't until about three months for that to stop. But now I have issues with belching and gas. I am now down 50 lbs, which is great, but I lost a lot of muscle tone. All in all, my blood sugar is doing great. I do recommend staying hydrated and taking some anti-gas meds if stomach pain persists."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Yes, you will lose weight. Yes, your A1C will go down. Yes, it is easy to take this medicine, one quick auto-injection each week in your thigh, simple and very easy with very little pain at all. I was very excited to try this new medicine for my Type 2 diabetes. It works very well, I went from an A1C of 13 down to less than 7 in 2 months. I lost 12 lbs and felt great in the beginning. But let me tell you! The side effects that come along with this can be very strong and disruptive. I have had nonstop diarrhea for the last 6 months, extreme stomach pain 2 days after I take the injection, very bad gas, and horrible stinky burps that just come out of my stomach at any time. I was on the 5 mg and slowly worked up to the 10 mg over 4 months. That sent me to the emergency room with extreme vomiting, severe abdominal pain, and complete misery. I just don't think the pain and side effects are worth it. I am trying to eat better and really watch my diet and exercise."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Rybelsus, Trulicity, and Ozempic with minimal results both on A1C and weight loss, and lots of stomach issues. Presently on Mounjaro 10 mg for the past year, having gradually increased dosage along the way. Side effects are constipation, and approximately every three weeks I'll have an episode of stomach pain, sulfur burps, and vomiting. It's usually in the middle of the night, throwing up dinner and anything else eaten that day, sitting on my stomach all day. Vomiting, severe sweating, chills. After that, it passes, and I feel perfectly fine until weeks later it happens again. I can tolerate this side effect, and A1C is much better."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "It's been working great. I have lost 50 lbs in 3 months. I went from an A1C of 13 to a 5.2. I have had a little stomach pain after eating, but my main issue is stool restriction. I started taking Dulcolax stool softener, and it seems to work. I do not take insulin of any sort now."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Had a pretty decent weight loss. Down 30 lbs in a few months. But the side effects were awful. Had to stop week 15 due to a lump in the neck & numbness on the tongue. Otherwise, the first couple of months the side effects of stomach pain were terrible on days 2-3."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking Mounjaro since December 2022, beginning with the lowest dose of 2.5 mg, and increasing to 5 mg, briefly going to 7.5 mg, and currently back at 5 mg. Anyway, I had already made huge changes to my diet and reduced my insulin, but couldn’t quite get my glucose levels where I wanted them. For the most part, it’s been great. I’m now off all other diabetic medication, including insulin, and am able to keep my blood sugars within range. I have some issues with constipation and definitely need to use a little help to keep things moving. Occasionally, I have a headache for several hours after injecting. I have gotten a little bit of a sour stomach after some meals, but not bad. I have lost a little weight, not a lot, but I’m not in a hurry to lose. I think I’d probably lose more at a higher dose. My last HbA1c was 5.3, and I would like to get it lower. I had more stomach trouble at the higher dose. I'm glad that I’m on it. An injection once a week is better than daily."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I had to start at 2.5 mg due to always having issues with new medications and stomach trouble. I tolerated that well and then moved to 5.0 mg. Hunger came on around four weeks into the medication, so I started taking 5 mg twice a week. Lost around 15 pounds during the next 5 months, then the hunger came back on. Just now started 5 mg three times a week. Will see. Not pleased with my weight loss but am happy with my blood sugar levels."

"Does work to lower blood sugar/A1C. Also works to lose weight. Over long-term use, it seems to allow for slight weight increase. Side effects include loss of appetite, fatigue, burps, stomach pain, nausea, and gastroparesis. After about two months of use, I developed an extreme sensitivity to touch. My skin became very painful all over, feeling like a mild sunburn with a horrible sensation of severe chills all the time. I am trying to tolerate the chills, but it is very severe."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I used this for the first month at 2.5mg and did fine. Didn't really notice too much change and minimal impact on my sugar numbers. After 1 month, my doctor increased the dosage to 10mg. From that point, day 1 after my shot, I experience complete loss of appetite, chills, gastric pain. Days 2-4, I just had the loss of appetite and gastric pain, soft stools. Day 5 after my shot, loss of appetite, pain & diarrhea. The 6th day, some appetite back, less pain, no BM at all. Day of next injection was good, was able to eat more, no pain, normal BM. Day after 2nd shot at 10mg, is repeating again. I was losing some weight at the lower dosage but the sugar numbers weren't that much improved. On the higher dosage, I'm no longer losing weight but my sugars are more in line and coming down."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I only took 3 doses at 2.5 mg. By the time I took the 2nd shot, I was having trouble with my stomach hurting and starting to itch. After the 3rd shot, I broke out with a rash on my back, arms, and stomach. I decided not to take the 4th shot and contacted my doctor. During my visit, they decided for me to come off of Mounjaro. I was given a steroid shot, oral medication, and an ointment for the rash. My stomach still bothers me some but seems to be getting better. This has been 4 weeks today, and the rash hasn’t gone away completely yet. When in direct sunlight, it seems to aggravate or excite the rash. I don’t know if Mounjaro has any effects on moodiness, but while I was taking it, I was in a really good mood. I would have moments of intense bliss. After I stopped using Mounjaro, I’ve had moments of moodiness. This is getting better, but I thought it’s worth mentioning."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Have been on the 2.5 mg for almost a year. Do not want to increase dosage. Doctor is fine with that as well. I have lost about 70 lbs. since beginning this medication. My A1C is absolutely fantastic! Better than it has ever been. My weight is the lowest it's ever been. I was actually getting concerned with the weight loss and/or possible bad nutrition. However, my last labs were all fine! I've always concentrated on protein intake. I had gastric bypass back in 2006. Weighed 312 back then, am currently at 115. But do not look sickly or undernourished. I did have a recent ER visit for severe stomach pain. No other symptoms at all. They advised that I had ileus. So have several questions for the doctor at the follow-up visit this week. Have been type 2 for many, many years. Overall happy with the Mounjaro. Do have stomach pain at times, but it is manageable."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking Zepbound five weeks ago. I started with 2.5. My first couple of weeks were fine, but by my third week after that shot, I could not eat for 3 days. I tried even sipping on water and couldn't because of the nausea. My throat kind of burnt all the way down to my stomach, it felt like someone was squeezing the top of my throat. I just took my first shot of the 5.0 3 days ago, and I still haven't been able to eat because I'm so nauseous, and again my stomach's hurting. I tried yesterday to take some Rolaids, but that made me throw up. I haven't told my doctor, and I'm still going to continue taking it, but if this keeps up, it's not worth it. But I will continue to try maybe one or two more weeks, but if it just keeps up and is this miserable, I'm going to stop taking it. Hopefully, no one else has this feeling. But I didn't lose 19 lb in one month. I hope everyone does better on it than I am."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking this in March 2024. I've had some weight loss (about 30 pounds), but not as much as I anticipated. I occasionally experience nausea and stomach pain, but it's usually after a very fatty meal (avoiding those types of foods minimizes this symptom for me). When I reached the 10 ml dose, I began having an itchy, raised red area surrounding the injection site that dissipates by the end of the week. I had one shot that didn't dispense the needle until I held it up to inspect it. I am happy I started this medication because I did lose weight (and hopefully will continue to) and was able to stop taking metformin! The worst thing about taking this medication is trying to get the prescription filled. I have had more issues trying to get my refills for Zepbound than any prescriptions for opioid pain medication (which I have taken in the past post-surgery due to an allergy to acetaminophen). At first, it was supply issues. Now it's preauths and difficulty staying at a certain dose."
