For Hashimoto's disease "I took one 16.5 NP pill, and three hours later I had the worst diarrhea and vomited ever. I had been on Armour 30 mcg for a month with stomach pains and diarrhea, and it was getting worse every day, so I switched to NP. Now I'm on Levothyroxine 30 mcg and feeling better. I'm researching Tirosint and Cytomel as they have minimal ingredients, i.e., no gluten, which is a big no-no for us Hashimoto gals. Good luck to all of finding a good doctor and the right medication for you."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "So happy with Nature-Throid. I needed a change after 15 years with Levoxyl because my provider wanted to lower that drug’s dosage, which I couldn’t tolerate. Two months into Nature-Throid, I’m feeling very good. I was concerned that I’d experience mood swings, tingling, joint pain, and the like, but so far, all I have is a little weight gain."

For Underactive Thyroid "I have been taking Nature-Throid for 7 years. I had trouble with availability a couple of years ago but rode it out. That incident lasted several months of only being allotted 15-30 pills at a time. This past recall was such an issue. I basically turned in my recalled product and NEVER got reimbursed from RLC Labs or my pharmacy. I'm very upset about it and have contacted both multiple times to no avail. And my doctor was just adjusting my doses when I had to switch and basically redo all my labs after weeks of being on NP-Thyroid. My doctor did prefer Nature-Throid because their increments allowed for more specific dosing. So with NP-Thyroid, I have had to cut some pills in half, but to me that is worth the extra effort. I also found out my insurance will pay for NP-Thyroid vs. Nature-Throid, for which I was paying out of pocket. I will never go back. I honestly do not notice a difference between the two. I just need a reliable company."

For Thyroid Cancer "I was on synthetic thyroid meds for over 10 years after thyroid cancer. My levels looked fine, said the doctor, but I clearly wasn’t. You’re depressed, said the other doctor. Having had thyroid and then immediately breast cancer, well yes, I guess I am depressed! Loaded me up on antidepressants. I guess I feel better? I know I’m supposed to, but I wasn’t living, I was surviving, and that was a chore! Finally threw myself at the doctor’s feet bawling and said PLEASE treat ME, NOT the lab work!!! Wow, here comes Nature-Throid. My life began again after 10+ years!! Yippee! After a year of finally feeling like myself again, it was recalled. Right back to feeling like I just can’t drag myself out of bed, and that is NOT me!! WHAT is everyone else doing without our wonder drug? The pharmacist told me last week he’s pretty sure it isn’t coming back!! I can’t imagine the rest of my life feeling like this!!!"

For Hashimoto's disease "I was diagnosed 9 years ago as being hypo. About 2 years ago, they diagnosed me with Hashi's. I started out on Levothyroxine, soon realized I couldn't take generic. Switched to Synthroid. My levels were consistently off every time I went to get labs done. Kept upping the meds. I asked to switch to Armour...was on that for about 9 months. Just recently got my results back. My TPO was a 289...supposed to be below a 34. TSH was a 37.590, supposed to be between 0.450-4.500. My doc is pretty much baffled by these results. Since I have been taking thyroid meds for 9 years. She switched me to Nature-Throid, and I've been taking it for about 7 days now. I'm on 195 mg. I'm praying these meds work."

For Underactive Thyroid "I have no symptoms of hypothyroid, yet my blood work comes back low for the last 6 months. Started taking Nature-Throid, feel no different, and eyebrows started thinning. Stopped for 2 months, went to a new NP, and she put me back on Nature-Throid. Still feel no difference, and within a week, my hair started falling out rapidly, which I've never had happen. So frustrated, going to stop taking, as clearly doesn't agree with me."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I had a removal of my thyroid, and I was put on three other medications beforehand, but then I was put on Nature-Throid. I did wonderful, no side effects. I had no weight gain, I slept well, no sweating. I didn’t have any side effects whatsoever, I felt great. Now they’ve taken Nature-Throid off the market, and we are all waiting for it to come back on the market. I am on Amor now, and I have gained a lot of weight. I have got head fog so bad, muscle weakness, no energy. I can’t go to bed, I feel like I’m going insane. I need to be put back on Nature-Throid."
