For Osteoarthritis "Seriously, the worst pain you will probably ever experience, and this is coming from someone who used to fight professionally and has had 8 different surgeries. The pain is best described as sharp nerve pain, and Panadol is needed to sleep for the first 7 days. Before getting it, I was able to walk with a slight limp, and the limp got worse over an hour of walking, not that painful though. Here's my experience so far (I was told by the doctor I will be 'slightly uncomfortable' for 48 hours)... Day 1: Got the injection in my hip and was fine until nighttime, which the pain started to kick in. Day 2-3: Extremely painful entire leg (even the knee was very swollen), unable to walk, moving leg slightly caused severe nerve pain, could not straighten leg in bed. Day 4-6: Began to slowly walk around but still painful. Day 7: Feel much better but still walk up steps one leg+step at a time, still a little painful at times. Will keep you posted. Will seek alternatives even if this drug does work."

For Osteoarthritis "I am surprised to see so many negative reviews about Durolane. I had the injection in my left knee, which has early stage osteoporosis, not severe but enough to prevent me from running, a lifelong passion. I experienced only 20 seconds of pain during the injection and now, just three days later, I've had no real pain at all, minor swelling, good mobility. Still far too early to say whether it has made a difference, but I just wanted to post this to let people know I did not find the procedure too painful, unlike the experience of many others. Perhaps I have a high pain threshold or my osteo condition is not severe enough to lead to great discomfort. For now, I'll give it a 5 out of 10 as I don't yet know whether it worked, but at least it was a tolerable procedure. I did ask my surgeon to prescribe antibiotics, as she said infection can lead to long-term problems, so I thought that would be a good precaution, and she was happy to prescribe them to mitigate that remote risk."

For Osteoarthritis "I had a Durolane injection one day ago. I had cartilage removal 50 years ago at 18 years old in my right knee after a car accident, so have pretty much been bone on bone since then. Over the last year, the pain has been affecting my quality of life, and I was considering a knee replacement. Unfortunately, I fractured my right ankle four months ago and was in a hard cast for two months and then two months in a walking cast. The extra stress exacerbated the pain in my knee, and I asked my orthopedic surgeon about getting a gel injection. I decided on Durolane as it was one dose. My surgeon did not advise me of any possible adverse effects. I paid $600 and had the injection. The injection went smoothly, no pain. In the middle of the night, I woke up to pain and swelling in my knee and back of my leg. I took a Tylenol and went back to sleep. This morning, I have fairly strong pain and am limping badly. I took ibuprofen and am now elevating and icing my leg. Will update pros or cons later."

For Osteoarthritis "June 1 got a Durolane shot in both knees. Five days later, right foot swelled, no pain. Eighteen days later, knees were very painful, couldn't even walk! Went to doctor, said I have a blood clot in right leg. Now on a blood thinner. Will be getting a knee ablation 8/19, pray to God this helps and I can walk again."
