For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been experiencing nausea at least once a week. I’m finding it hard to eat as I have been turned off most foods. I used to love chocolate, but I can only manage to eat the odd piece. I used to like sweet things, but now sweets are far too sweet!"

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I have lost 20 lbs, but the nausea and constipation never went away. It did help my BP, but if you want to see the effects on your face, go outside with a mirror, and you will see the effects it has on your skin. I have always had good skin, but now I have crow's feet and wrinkles around my mouth that are much deeper than I didn’t have before. What people called Ozempic face is the same thing you get with Wegovy. The fast weight loss will leave you with loose skin also if you are older."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "First few weeks, appetite started to fall away. Lost 6 lb, then the sickness started - nausea, bloating, and stomach pain. Certain foods make this worse, and the nausea is daily now. On week 6 and down 9 lb, going to keep going unless this gets worse. It's like being pregnant again!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am currently on my third-week dose of 0.25 mg, and my starting weight was 155 lbs. I am currently fluctuating between 146 - 148 lbs. I feel great, and I have had minimal side effects of constipation (fixed with Miralax and papaya) and some nausea. Can't wait to go up on my dose!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Checking in about my experience on Wegovy thus far. Tomorrow, Monday, May 8th, 2023, will be my second box of Wegovy 0.25 mg. So my 5th injection. I’ve lost 6 pounds since I first started. My biggest issue is diarrhea and nausea. I get occasional stomach cramping. Otherwise, I too have noticed that drinking more water seems to help. Lots of saltine crackers for me. The first week, I was scared to eat. I felt like I had the flu. It wasn’t a good experience for me. Then, gradually it let up, and by that first Friday, I felt like myself again, but still ate with caution. I have no taste! It’s odd. I know I’m eating, but it’s like I’ve lost my sense of taste. I will update after these 2 boxes are complete and hopefully will have a total weight loss that’s up to date. I don’t own a scale, lol."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started Wegovy in March 2022 with a goal of losing 50-75 pounds. I ended up losing a total of 85 pounds in about 11 months. I felt great upon taking the Wegovy. Only had mild headaches and mild stomach discomfort. I was not tired, I actually felt energized. However, by December, the nausea had reared its ugly head. I took Zofran, and it helped. I was able to stick it out with the nausea until February, at which time I stopped taking it. I could no longer live with the nausea. Since I stopped taking it, I have continued to suffer nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. My doctor and I are still trying to find the source of this continuing issue. I love the weight loss, and I love Wegovy!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Just started my first dose on Monday. 0.25 mg. 265 lbs 5’4. Ok for a couple of hours. Then I got nauseous and weak. I had to lie down. Day 2 felt like I had a bout of stomach flu. Diarrhea and no appetite. Ate saltine crackers and lots of water. Day 3 now and we went out to eat. I ate a chicken wrap and a Sprite. By the time we got home, I was in the bathroom with diarrhea again. Feel achy and hot! I really don’t want to give up, but if I’m going to feel like this to lose weight, then I’ll stay a plus-size woman. I will report back on Saturday. Today is Wednesday. I know quite a few people who are using this as a weight loss tool. Nothing comes easy. As soon as you stop, the weight comes back. It’s a lifestyle change."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Wegovy in December 2021 at 281 lbs, and as of May 2022, I am weighing in at 246 lbs (35 lbs lost). I am on the full maintenance dose at 2.4 mg. I didn't notice many symptoms early on; however, as I got to the 1.7 & 2.4 mg, my side effect symptoms greatly increased - including vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, and a nasty burnt popcorn taste in my mouth. This medication will definitely cause you to lose weight as it completely takes away your appetite, but the combination of side effects, mostly the vomiting, makes me question if I will stay on this medication much longer. For reference, I take my medication on Saturday evening and suffer the side effects until about Thursday morning. From Sun-Wed, I find myself in/out of the bathroom throwing up when I attempt to eat the most basic of foods. I used to have a large passion for food, but I can't imagine eating some of my favorite things while these side effects take over. I would recommend for those suffering to lose weight with caution."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "First, I am disabled with Lyme disease and severe fibromyalgia. I gained 20 pounds because I couldn't move for 2 years. I went on Wegovy. I was okay with the side effects (no appetite, a little bit of nausea) until I got to the 1.7 dose. I tried for 6 weeks on that dose. I was the sickest after the dose day for the majority of the week. I could barely eat. I did lose weight: 18 pounds in 4 months. I did no exercise whatsoever. In fact, I'm mostly bedridden. But feeling that ill on top of my constant pain was too much for me. I went down to the 1 mg, and we will see if I can do that. I also take pain meds and a fibro drug (also causes nausea). I have a nausea med called Zofran. You might want to ask for this. The nausea is awful, but really not bad for me UNTIL I started the 1.7 dose. Just couldn't stay on that. Definitely takes off weight. At one point, I ate 800 calories in 4 combined days, it was that bad. You might want to titrate slowly."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started out on the 0.25 mg, noticed no change or side effects. I have 1 more pen to go on the 1 mg, and up until this week, I had no side effects but have noticed I have been slightly nauseous for about a week now. It DEFINITELY has curbed my appetite! I don't think I've finished a plate of food in about a month! I see my doctor every 3 weeks, and I'm maintaining the same weight that I started at."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Taking Wegovy for weight loss and prediabetic. Into the third week of 0.5 mg and tolerated it well so far. No severe nausea and a few bouts of diarrhea. However, I had gastric bypass a few years back, and my stomach is always off with dumping syndrome. In 18 days, I’ve lost only 4.5 lbs, and that is tracking macros and eating about 600 calories per day and keeping carbs under 80g. It definitely has taken my urge to eat away, and I have to force myself to eat. I don’t have intense fullness, as I believe due to my stomach size I already eat tiny meals like 4 ounces, so I'm not pushing my stomach and having the medicine cause me to be sick. I can tell each week the side effects do lessen. I would hang in there. I know the weight loss hasn’t been terrific, but I have to remember this could help me stave off becoming diabetic."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "The nausea wasn't nearly as bad as I had heard. I do get a little nauseous the first few days but still continue to work. The worst side effect I have is a rash/hives. Wakes me up in the middle of the night itching, and now I have it on my forehead and eyelids, swelling of the eyes, and again, some serious itching!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am 58, have IBS-D, no gallbladder, GERD, and am 60 lbs overweight. This is my second attempt at taking Wegovy. The first attempt was disastrous! I didn't make it through the first week before I was hit with diarrhea, nausea, acid reflux, dizziness, cramps, and had headaches. I missed four days of work and went to ER twice. The doctor did tell me to stop taking this, but I honestly did not think it was the Wegovy (I had not done any research on side effects). Once I got back to my normal state of digestive issues, I became proactive. I started back on Wegovy (.25 lowest dose) 6 weeks ago, but now I take a dose of Pepto-Bismol daily (twice a day the day of and day after the shot) and I take an OTC daily antacid. I still get mild side effects (nausea, headache, and fatigue) the day after the shot or if I overeat. I have not lost any weight at this dose so I am going up to the .5 dose next week. As others have said - everyone will react to this med differently."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "First dose 0.25mg, had slight stomach pain/discomfort. Later that same night, my appetite disappeared. Just seeing a fast-food commercial on TV made me feel nauseous. I thought if that's the worst of the side effects that affect me, then I'll be very happy with that. By the next day, stomach pain and nausea increased. By 4:00 am, BAM! Diarrhea, severe stomach pain, projectile vomiting, headache, chest pain, severe itching mainly on the palms of my hands and arms. I truly thought 'this must be what it feels like to be poisoned!' I was scared. It is now the next day and I feel fine. A little tired from lack of sleep from feeling so sick. I think I will do my second dose next week...but I'm quite nervous of a repeat of feeling like I was dying from the stomach pains and vomiting. Will I continue with this drug?...jury is still out! On the positive side, I've already lost 5 pounds; but of course, I can't & don't want to eat, too much nausea and vomiting."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Wegovy does work, problem is... I feel like dirt all day long. I'm fatigued, nauseous, and even the smell of food makes me vomit. My heart races, and I'm quite dizzy. I lost 55 lbs. Do I look good? Yes. Do I feel good? No. I'm down to 153 lbs now. It's time to stop this medication."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Took my injection .25 mg Friday afternoon and had a very hard time eating dinner. By noon Saturday, I was violently ill with diarrhea, vomiting, and a fever. The symptoms subsided by Sunday, and I was left very achy and fatigued. On the upside, I guess I did go from 335 lbs to 318 lbs over the course of the weekend. This medication is not for the faint of heart. It is very depressing to see a full-course meal in front of you and only be able to eat a few bites. If you are serious about losing weight, this medication will get you there, but I wonder if it’ll work or if the side effects will at least subside with longer-term use. The nausea is horrible, but you do also have some beautiful dreams while taking it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "The first four days have been really rough. I’ve experienced nausea, vomiting, severe heartburn, and stomach pain. I really want this to work, so I’ll continue. The doctors have had to prescribe nausea and vomiting medicine. It helps. I’m taking Alka-Seltzer for the heartburn. I’m really hoping the side effects will stop."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Experienced nausea and acid reflux with first four doses. The second box, the first pen did not work properly, the needle did not go all the way in. The medicine caused a bubble under the skin, was burning and hurting more than just the original needle stick. Called the drug company, they said because I did not watch the yellow tab, I would not be reimbursed. Not to mention that the medicine had no place to go until I pulled it out, and it sprayed all over my hand. The drug company is not good about standing behind their faulty product. If you have a problem, make sure to say you were watching the yellow bar, and you may have a chance at getting it replaced. Not good customer service."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started on Wegovy .25 mg mid-August and felt no side effects but no weight loss neither. Difficult stool movement right away. After 6 weeks, I started taking .50 mg after difficulty finding this dose in any pharmacy in Miami. I stayed on this dose for 4 weeks without any weight loss or bad side effects, other than constipation. Then I started taking 1 mg and immediately started feeling very bad: severe nausea and indigestion and bad diarrhea. Obviously, you can’t eat anything, so yes, I finally started losing weight, but felt so bad, I could not function, slept a lot, did not eat, was on the toilet a lot, and decided this was not worth it and stopped after two injections. Perhaps other people can deal with these kinds of side effects or they just react easier. Since I started on low doses for so long, I was disappointed the side effects were still so strong. After about three days (after stopping), I feel normal again but weight comes back quickly if you don’t have an iron will!"

Need to increase my water intake, though, and I’m about to start a higher dosage, so I’ll definitely keep you all posted."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "My experience with Wegovy has been a rollercoaster. In the first week, the 0.25 mg dose was great. In the second week, I started feeling the side effects of nausea, burping, gas, diarrhea, and bloating. I noticed that I did eat more. Make sure your portions are small and stick to fruit and vegetables. Soups and not greasy processed foods. You may feel sick and will take longer to digest. I am currently reconsidering if I should continue. I am not sure if I want to experience the side effects at a higher dose. I feel terrible all the time and have a headache. I feel exhausted all the time."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’ve been on the lowest dose of Wegovy for 3 weeks now. I was one of those that dealt with nausea within my 3rd injection, so bad I had to have Zofran prescribed. I started taking my Zofran, only needing 1 pill a day, and getting the nausea under control, only for my body to respond with loose stools. It is now day 5 of the stomach issues, and when I tell you this shot has TAKEN me out, I mean completely stopped my world. At first, I thought I had a stomach virus the first few days, but knew it could be the shot as well. Then as it progressed, I started thinking something else serious was wrong with me. The abdominal pain from my stomach just being exhausted from all that it’s going through is intense! One of the main reasons I chose to go to the ER to ensure this wasn’t something serious. X-ray and labs showed everything to be normal, so the doctor ruled it as the injection's side effects."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Wegovy for 8 weeks now (0.5 mg dose). I had occasional nausea, but this week I had diarrhea, vomiting, gas, nausea, and stomach pain. Thank goodness I was able to work from home, otherwise, I would have had to call out. I thought I had the stomach flu, but now I wonder if it's the medication. I am supposed to move up to the 1 mg in two days, but I am scared to. I took Ozempic for two months, and the only side effect I had was horrible heartburn, but it was very difficult to get, so I had to switch. I am contemplating not taking this anymore. I can handle some nausea, but to be so sick you can't function is a whole other thing. And I have not lost any weight."
