For High Cholesterol "I had a stroke that likely was a series of mini-strokes. It left me with difficulty walking and with sensation on my right side. My cholesterol was 7.9, and in the hospital, they got it down to 4.3. I was told it needs to be even lower because of my hypertension and difficulty with movement that makes it hard for me to exercise and move around. Lack of exercise and a low budget means I cannot afford fresh fruits and veggies most of the time, so my diet is not as healthy as my doctor would like. One good thing, though, I eat a salad a day sans dressing. It's not much but all I can afford. I am getting oatmeal next pay and little by little trying to change the way I eat, but it is difficult. Crestor works, but the side effects worry me."

"I was not able to stay on Zocor because it gave me leg cramps. My doctor put me on 5 mg of Crestor every other day, and after 6 weeks, my total cholesterol went from 263 to 174, and all the other numbers went down into the normal range as well-triglycerides went from the 150s to 59. And with the good HDL going from 54 to 66. My LDL/HDL ratio went from 3.3 to 1.5. I have not had any myalgia or side effects with Crestor and am glad that I can take this without any issues or needing a higher dose. I am a female in my mid-50s who does not smoke or drink, and I watch what I eat most of the time. My issue is hereditary, diet and lifestyle did not help at all without a statin. So far, so good!!"

For High Cholesterol "I’ve taken both Crestor (Rosuvastatin) and Atorvastatin, and both have made my joints and muscles ache like mad. So much so, in fact, that I have trouble getting in and out of the car, and when walking downstairs, I feel like my legs could buckle at any second. Other side effects are spells of dizziness, loss of balance, and a distended stomach. My 2 teenage sons have noticed a material impact on my mobility and have said I hobble around like a 90-year-old. I’ve been on the tabs for 3 months but have had enough, and I’m stopping them today. I will report back with hopefully better news on the mobility front. Let’s just hope I don’t keel over with a heart attack in the interim. I’ve also asked my doctor about a new cholesterol-reducing injection I’ve read about, but not sure if it’s mainstream enough yet."

For High Cholesterol "After much resistance, I decided to try a statin to lower my cholesterol. I tried to give it a chance, but the stomach pains were worrisome. I even tried cutting the 5 mg dose in half, but this didn’t help. After stopping, there is a huge improvement in my stomach issues."

For High Cholesterol "I've taken Crestor for 30 days and was having pain in both arms. Then my right side is aching. The pain from my arms has stopped, but I'm struggling with my right side. I stopped taking the medicine. The muscle aches are keeping me from sleeping. I should have read about it before taking it. I pray I recover from this."

For High Cholesterol "Destroyed my muscles. Started in legs and spread. Stopped taking two years ago and muscle pain and weakness has not improved. Some recent studies suggest may be permanent. Statins are poison."
