For Osteoporosis "I will be getting my fifth injection in a week. I’ve had some joint ache, but not enough to warrant stopping these injections. I’ve been actually doing all right and feeling pretty good. I haven’t had a repeat bone density test yet, so I can’t really comment on whether or not this is working. I can only hope it is. I have a bit of local soreness after the injection for about a day, and then it’s gone. My neurosurgeon recommended this as a way to help my very bad bone situation, and so I’m pleased that there’s at least (hopefully) a fix to it."

For Osteoporosis "No side effects during the first 6 months of treatment. After injections 7 and 8, some muscle pain in shoulder and thigh for some days. Density of backbone went up from -3.7 to -2.7 after 6 months, in thigh bones, there was slight improvement."

For Osteoporosis "Just started 2 weeks ago but I had injection site swelling and a painful area felt like it was inflamed. The nurse who gave the injection said there would be no swelling or pain when I asked about it. I know not everyone has this problem, but my arm was swollen and painful for five or six days. Not looking forward to the next injections, wish the nurse had told me that the reaction is not likely but possible. Monthly injection is convenient, and my reaction, although painful, is tolerable."

For Osteoporosis "I just had my 4th Evenity injection. I had my 3rd injection in my arm, and it swelled up like a large (egg shape and size) hematoma. It stayed red and swollen for a few days. I went back to the tummy site. No pain with the injections. I am fatigued and feel out of sorts. I tried Reclast, and it was a bad experience with it. I’ll go back to Prolia after my last shot. I’ve used that in the past and had no issues."

For Osteoporosis "From blood tests done, I know that Evenity has increased my retention of bone, bone building took place in the first 2 months. I have a severe headache for 1-2 days after getting the injections. I also have increased stiffness that is 24/7."

For Osteoporosis "I am 63 and was on Prolia, which caused me pain. I switched to Evenity. I just had my third injection. Yes, the injections hurt, but if they warm up, it's not as bad. But after the 2nd and 3rd injection, I have developed a knot that is so painful in one arm. I can't lift either arm after injections for days. But I was wondering if anyone experiences the lower back pain with Evenity. I have had days where I couldn't move in the morning without excruciating pain. And I do experience headaches. Hoping when I get a Dexa, it shows improvement because what I am experiencing is not pleasant."

For Osteoporosis "I am getting my 3rd Evenity treatment next week. I am happy I am able to receive this drug. The side effects have been very tolerable- a bit fatigued after the first injections. I thought the injections would be more painful, they are not."

For Osteoporosis "I have only been on Evenity for 6 months, so it is still unknown if it has had any effects on my osteoporosis. I find that the injection is quite painful, but the pain subsides once the injection is completed. A swelling of the injection area is quite visible for 48 hours and then disappears. On the whole, it is very easily applied, and the injection pens are easy to use."

For Osteoporosis "After reading several negative reviews, I was nervous to begin Evenity in January 2024, but was pleasantly surprised with pretty much no side effects. The shots do hurt/burn, but that only lasts a few seconds. I took Tylenol and drank plenty of water on the day of my injections and felt fine except for being very tired. I took afternoon naps, and by the next day, I felt completely normal. My bone density increased by 9.1% in the lumbar spine and 7.9% in the femoral neck. Still classified as osteopenia, but I am happy there has been some improvement. I will be starting Reclast infusions next month."

For Osteoporosis "Closing in on my fourth injection, but having multiple issues. I have just been diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia. Now having to take gabapentin to manage those symptoms. My IBS, diagnosed in my 20s, but under control for over 30 years, has returned with a vengeance. Nothing in my diet or life has changed except the addition of Evenity. Imodium is my friend... another drug to combat the Evenity side effects. This morning, I experienced a weird episode while showering. Uncomfortable, radiating pain under my left shoulder blade, slowly spreading up my back/neck. It has subsided, and I have an appointment tomorrow with my GP. I feel like the Evenity is working, and the pain in my spine, where my fracture occurred and recurred, has greatly diminished. I don't want to stop yet."

For Osteoporosis "I am one year post-Evenity and just had my first after-treatment DEXA scan. While there was minimal improvement in the lumbar spine score, my hip improved 8.5%, and my femoral neck improved an astounding 32.5%. So I suppose that the injections did bring some positive results despite the misery I experienced during the therapy. I am religiously taking calcium/vitamin D every day in addition to Evista, being determined to stay away from those bone-improving meds with the more horrible side effects (osteonecrosis of the jawbone, etc.). In conclusion, I have to admit that while Evenity does pose serious health risks and side effects, it does appear to improve bone health. We will have to wait to see if it is maintainable or if the improvements wane with the passage of time."

For Osteoporosis "I have had three Evenity injections so far. I have a history of spinal compression fractures. I am a two-time cancer survivor (breast cancer and endometrial cancer). At present, I am cancer-free. After all of my Evenity injections, I have had the same reaction - about 10 hours after treatment, I develop shaking chills, a low-grade fever, and nausea. And then, after about 12 hours past my injections, I feel fine. That is the only side effect that I have had!"

For Osteoporosis "I got a rash on my arms and shins after 5 months of injections. Just had my 9th injection and still have a rash. Didn’t realize it was probably caused by Evenity. My dermatologist couldn’t figure out what was causing it. Sent me to an allergist."

For Osteoporosis "I took Leah for 8 years, and there was no change for better or for worse. My rheumatologist suggested that I start taking Evenity, and I have had three injections. I believe I feel stronger. I'm very fortunate because I always react well to medications. I still have nine more injections to complete, and hopefully, it'll do its job. I took two injections earlier for 8 years, and at the end of the eight years, the X-rays showed no improvement. My rheumatologist suggested that I switch to Evenity for a year. Thus far, I have had three injections, and it seems to me that I feel stronger. I have had no side effects. I received an injection of Evenity monthly and have had no side effects so far. Everything seems fine, but I am uncomfortable recommending anything to anyone. Listen to your doctor and follow his or her advice."

For Osteoporosis "Just had my 4th injection. I had been on Prolia the last five years. It’s too early to say how it’s working. I’m wondering now if the very itchy rash I’ve had on my shoulders, back, neck, and scalp the past couple of months I originally thought was my skin lupus (but isn’t responding to the meds) is really from Evenity. I’m going to check into it this week."

For Osteoporosis "The first three infusions by arm swelled up at the injection site and were bright red. Then my ankles, up to about midcalf, swelled up as well. I have some ankle swelling that now has not gone down. That was a result of the injections. I also had fatigue the first three months after the injections, but after that, it subsided."

For Osteoporosis "Quickly seen at the infusion center. Minimal pain with shots. Course now complete, but still feel wobbly and have many dark spots on my face. Not welcomed! Because of other health conditions, I have a hard time knowing which problems to lay solely at Evenity's door. But glad the treatment is finished."

For Osteoporosis "I finished the twelve shots in March 2025. I did seem to have a few side effects here and there. I had a new Dexa scan and discovered Evenity did not help me much. I wanted to ask if anyone else did not have success with Evenity. I had a Reclast at the hospital infusion center. The nurses said it is common to hear that Evenity did not work. I would love to hear comments from patients with poor results from Evenity. One side effect was the bottom of my feet hurt, and it was somewhat painful to walk. I was determined to continue hiking and walking during treatment and did that while trying to ignore the bottom of the feet being painful. After stopping the shots, the pain in the bottom of the feet has gone away. The recommendation will not let you choose anything but Yes or No. My recommendation is maybe."

For Osteoporosis "I am 70 years old and started Evenity in November 2024 for osteoporosis. My upcoming shot will be my 8th. I was told by my neurologist that they have seen cases of normalization of the bone matrix after 12 shots. However, I believe the majority have improvement but not normalization after full 12 months of treatment. Unfortunately, I have several moderate side effects that have almost stopped me from continuing treatment, including decreased muscle strength and weakness, joint pain in my fingers and wrist. The worst side effects are generally not feeling well (flu-like symptoms) and exhaustion most of the time. The side effects didn't bother me as much in the winter due to less activity. At this time, I'm going to continue the 12-month course unless the side effects get worse. (My provider requires monthly labs which is getting to be annoying.)"
