For Nausea/Vomiting "I'm going through chemo (Taxol and Carboplatin) for ovarian cancer, and Phenergan is great. I sometimes also take Zofran with it because they affect two totally different receptors, causing the nausea, and both together usually stop the ever-present nausea."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was diagnosed with H. pylori, and I was throwing up and nauseated every day for an entire month. Finally, I was hospitalized, and they gave me Phenergan, and God bless the person who created this drug. Even now, when I feel the slightest bit of nausea, I take it, and it knocks me out, and I wake up feeling great."

For Light Sedation "This is my magic pill. I suffer from vertigo, chronic spinal pain, sleeplessness, mild depression because of the spinal pain, and usually I get sick to my stomach with even one aspirin. I take 1/2 of one pill of this every night before bed and sleep like a baby and awake feeling rested, happy, and nausea-free. I hope the vertigo is gone too but haven't taken this long enough to know about that. I take small doses of everything because I feel the effects of any medicine very strongly. WHY hasn't a doctor offered this to me before?"

For Nausea/Vomiting "Had an outpatient procedure and put into a 'twilight sedation,' with additional pain meds through the IV, although I can’t recall what that was. The pain meds caused me terrible nausea and dizziness. I was given a dose of Zofran and a motion sickness patch before surgery to try and prevent this, as I get nauseous from pain meds so easily... that didn’t work. I was given 12.5 mg of Phenergan, and 15 minutes later, symptoms had improved greatly. I was able to get dressed and start on my way home, although the nausea was still present somewhat due to the motion of the car ride home. Hit the bed and slept like a rock for four hours, felt sleepy the rest of the evening. Blood pressure did go up some as well, 132/88. Took my usual beta blocker at bedtime that helped my BP come down."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was given Phenergan in the hospital when Zofran wasn’t doing enough for my nausea due to food poisoning. They put a large amount into my IV, and a few minutes later, I realized I couldn’t tell if I was dreaming or awake. I kept staring at my husband, wondering if he was really there or not (he was). It was the most frightening medical experience I have ever had. I just kept my mouth shut and didn’t tell anyone what was happening to me because I didn’t want to be given any more medicine. It did get rid of my nausea, though, but not even close to being worth it... so terribly frightening."

For Sedation "After experiencing a severe onset of anxiety, I developed insomnia and couldn't sleep for over three weeks, remaining awake throughout the night. Additionally, I woke up with nausea and vomited for some days. I was prescribed 25 mg to take before bed to help with sleep and nausea. The first time I took it, I slept for 12 hours! I felt drowsy the next morning but also refreshed and didn't wake up with nausea. The second time I took it, I slept for 8 hours and was still a little drowsy. Taking 25 mg before bed definitely helps sedate me and improves my sleep throughout the night."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Woke up with dizziness and terrible nausea. After 5 hours of dry heaving, went to doctor. One injection and nausea gone almost immediately. Slept for 3 hours, then ate dry bagel, chicken soup without any problems. Next day, eating normally but feel tired and a little 'under the weather'."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I suffered from Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome; similar to an abdominal migraine. The gastroenterologist prescribed Phenergan suppositories as a prophylaxis. It prevented the onset of the nausea and vomiting. Just knowing it is in my refrigerator should I need it has stopped the cycle."

For Nausea/Vomiting "In preparation for a colonoscopy, I was given this medicine in case I became nauseated. I took 1 tablet as I was feeling a bit nauseous after taking the 'cleansing' drug prescribed by my doctor, and within 15 minutes, the nausea subsided. Then I fell asleep for several hours. Does what it is supposed to."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I just had a bilateral mastectomy due to breast cancer a month ago and will never forget the huge injection of Phenergan the nurse plunged into my I.V. when I came out of the anesthesia and said, 'I'm going to throw up!' It halted my nausea IMMEDIATELY - wish I'd known about this stuff years ago! It would have saved me after a few of my surgeries. Now, they've put me on Tamoxifen, which is making me incredibly nauseated. When my doctor's office called me the other day to let me know they had called in an anti-nausea medicine for me at the pharmacy, I was overjoyed to find out it was Phenergan. Sure enough, it's working great. Last night I had my first enjoyable evening without nausea since starting the Tamoxifen."

For Nausea/Vomiting "In 2015, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and had emergency surgery to save my life. Seven years later, I have ups and downs with flares and how it makes me feel. Mainly, it’s nausea. So, my doc prescribed promethazine (Phenergan) to help, and boy, does it. I can be sick and not want to eat to keep weight on. But after one or two, I can eat anything."

For Opiate Adjunct "I have been taking Phenergan 25 mg for years now. I have no problem with it, and it works fine for me. This is for the lady that said she was 65 years old and her daughter had the same reaction. You are severely allergic to Phenergan, do not take it anymore, please. My wife was prescribed it for nausea and vomiting. She started taking it, and every time she started feeling like throwing up, by the time I made her go to the emergency room, she was on the couch with her feet raised. I mean, I had to put a cinder block under the end of the couch to raise it up enough for her. She could not stand up without throwing up, and I had to hold her up to get to the bathroom. She was in the hospital for a week. Now she cannot look up without getting dizzy and going to pass out!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "As a type 1 diabetic, I occasionally get nausea and/or vomiting with low blood sugar. If blood sugar levels are severely low, you may feel nausea and something similar to a migraine headache, in my case, with locking-tight neck muscles. It is hard to get blood sugar levels up when you are vomiting. I have found a Phenergan suppository is the only thing that works for me during these episodes. It works very quickly to stop nausea and gives me enough time to eat before making me sleepy. I have been diabetic for more than 40 years, so it is not as though I am inexperienced, and I have both an insulin pump and blood testing equipment with which to check my glucose levels before I ever consider going to sleep. I do not recall ever being truly 'knocked out' long term, but asleep for a few hours, long enough for the headache and tight neck muscles to subside."

For Nausea/Vomiting "My experience was awful. This medication was put into my IV and in seconds, I felt myself going into a deep sleep. I wasn't fully in the hospital when it took an effect. I thought that I could not breathe and screamed for oxygen. The nurse stated that I was breathing just fine. Well, I didn't need oxygen, just a bad trip. Yes, nausea went away quickly. I guess it is effective, but not worth the trip, very scary."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was sick for two days in a row. I had to go to the ER, and I was on Zofran, which helped during the day, but at night my morning sickness, a.k.a. HG, ravaged. My mother-in-law suggested this drug as a suppository because she had similar problems! I still am nauseous, but I’m finally having a night out of the ER. Now if it could only make me sleepy, lol."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I've been taking this medication for a minimum of 15 years. It is a very good medication. I use it for nausea and vomiting. It does the trick. It also aids with my pain & insomnia, only when combined with other meds. But, even though I'm well educated on Phenergan, if I take it too frequently, it gets built up in my system and gives me severe restless leg symptoms! If you've never had it - avoid it! Just take it only when necessary."

"I have suffered bouts of severe stress, anxiety, and being unable to sleep on and off for years, sometimes a year being okay then ill again. Recently, I started taking Phenergan to help me sleep (10 mg tablets). I started off with one tablet in the daytime to see how my body reacted to it. Within 20 minutes, my anxiety reduced and my nausea went completely. In an hour, I was very tired but stayed awake. At night, I then took two (10 mg) tablets, I slept great and woke up without a headache. I still had anxiety and nausea, so I took one tablet in the morning, it worked within 10 minutes (for nausea and anxiety). Then at night, I took only 1 tablet instead of 2, I still slept great with no side effects and it took 1 hour 30 minutes to get me to sleep. I totally recommend them, BUT read the leaflet, it does say to start off low and then increase if need be. You must also be careful if you are taking other drugs, even herbal pills! And I wouldn't drive if you are taking them during the day for hay fever, etc."
