For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "After having my 2nd child, I got really poorly and was diagnosed with bipolar II disorder. For 3 years now, I've been living in hell and up and down like a yo-yo. Just recently, I paid privately to see a psychiatrist because the NHS is useless as it's understaffed for mental health. I was diagnosed with bipolar II, GAD, and mixed anxiety and depressive disorder. All I can say, week 2 on this medication has saved my life! I'm on 75mg twice a day and can increase if I wish to, but with the way I am feeling at the moment, I feel I don't need to. I can leave the house, I'm going back to work next week, and my girls have their mummy back. I also suffer from damaged nerves in my lower back, and it's helped so much with the pain. It's a miracle."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I love this medication. I feel calm and rid of anxiety. I currently take 600 mg daily and it lasts throughout the day. I would highly recommend this medication, it's both calming and stimulating. I have the confidence to go out and hang out with people. I finally feel like I can socialize and relax like a 'normal' person. It's approved for generalized anxiety disorder in Europe."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I was diagnosed with GAD when I was 18. I have tried every medication under the sun and some SNRIs have helped, and benzos killed the anxiety but became extremely dependent and addicted to them. I was prescribed pregabalin for GAD in 2013, and noticed just like others on this board, that it helped my depression too. It doesn't kill the anxiety in its tracks like benzos do, but it makes the anxiety manageable. I have been on pregabalin for two years now and started at 100mg 2x a day. My dose was increased to 150mg 3x a day (450mg daily) after a few months and feel like life is now manageable. This is the best I have ever felt and ever done in my life. It also helps me focus. I plan on staying on it for the rest of my life and am only 32."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I started taking it for my anxiety when nothing else worked and it's change my life in so many ways! My anxiety is gone for the first time in my life, and I'm not sedated or high. I just feel normal. My anxiety got so bad it was causing severe stomach problems. I almost had my gallbladder removed. Not only did it cure my anxiety, my stomach issues are gone, as well as my IBS that was a separate issue, my restless legs are gone!!! GONE. RLS was torture. It stopped me from going to movies or on planes, but that's not even the best part! My chronic leg pain, which I saw many specialists about when I was young and had since given up on, IS GONE! I thought I had to live in pain forever. My life is drastically improved. No words can explain."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "(From Denmark) For Lyrica, I have been through the worst period of my life. Suffering several panic attacks a day mixed with the urge to commit suicide. It has been controlling me, making me unable to attend school, exercise, and yeah, just being the person I want to be. It left me restless. Couldn't go outside, went completely asocial, and full of frustration. Lyrica has changed my life, it had an immediate effect on me. I've been on it for two days and I have been the complete version of myself. I take only 75 mg a day. But I will upgrade my dose to 75 mg twice a day. I am so so so so so grateful. And full of optimism <3 <3 <3 SO HAPPY"

For Pain "I have had severe pain to the point I have lost my ability to walk and need to use a wheelchair for the past seven years. My Dr. (last year) put me on Lyrica and it saved my life! I had been put on every type of painkiller and I needed a lot of them. Now I have lower doses of my pain medicines and I feel tons better! Anyone who is looking into this medication, PLEASE at least try it, take it as you're told to by your Dr. and give it four weeks to fully work its magic. I almost asked my Dr. to take me off it three weeks into taking it, but my wife told me to give it one more week and BOOM! She was right. It's not like anything you have ever tried! My only problem with it is it needs time to work. It's worth the wait!"

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "Being a survivor of Spinal Cord Injury 'Lyrica' has literally been a lifesaver for me. As a matter of fact, I'm not sure if I would be able to live a normal life without it. Now, to the downside of 'Lyrica'. Who can afford it? A 30-day supply for me is $500 a month. I am disabled and because Pfizer got greedy and paid off a superior court judge, we cannot obtain the generic version of the drug. That said, whose best interest is in mind, I ask? The people or the man? The sad thing is that I know this will never be seen by the people that all know I'm right and need the help like me but must suffer and live without medication that can change a person's quality of life. Thank you for allowing me to share. And if even one sees this. The riteone"

Pregabalin for Neuropathic Pain "Lyrica has given me my life back. I have what has been diagnosed as a pinched nerve in my back. It was causing severe pain and numbness in my left hand, especially my index finger and thumb. I still have numbness in my left forefinger but it is greatly reduced. The pain in my back was intense, it made me nauseous, and extra strength acetaminophen was not doing much along with diclofenac. Within an hour of my first Lyrica pill I started feeling relief and my pain is greatly alleviated. I had taken Lyrica a couple of years ago for shingles and it was a miracle drug then also. My only side effect is a stuffy nose."

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "I hate to write this comment, but it has to be done. I have been on Lyrica for 5 years. I now take 150mg 3x a day. At first, this was a dream medicine for me. It relieved the aches and body spasms almost instantly. I could sleep at night and woke up pain-free, able to live a somewhat normal life. I did, however, gain 40 lbs. I am now experiencing severe depression, and I feel it is due to the Lyrica. I ran out once and experienced the worst withdrawal symptoms. I felt like I was dying, and the pain was severe. This medicine is wonderful, but getting off of it is very hard."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I'm a 45-year-old mum of two, and I have been suffering from obsessive thoughts and GAD for over 20 years. 14 years ago, I was put on 20 mg of Paroxetine by my psychiatrist, and I improved a couple of months later after taking it. My life has been good with up-and-down situations. 3 months ago, when my anxiety came back after I contracted bad flu, I started to feel anxious with dark obsessive thoughts every morning to the point that I couldn't cope with anything in my life. My GP prescribed me 40 mg of Propranolol, but it only slowed my heart rate, and I still wasn't good enough to function. After talking to my psychiatrist, he prescribed me Pregabalin 50 mg twice a day, and OMG, I started to feel brand new almost immediately! What a life-changing medication! I felt dizzy, and my vision was blurred at the beginning, but as days went by, the symptoms started to wear off. No anxiety, no dark obsessive thoughts! Life is good again! Recommend to everyone with anxiety and depression."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I have suffered from PTSD (diagnosed in 2001), as a common condition unfortunately experienced by many people in law enforcement. I was prescribed Prozac, which made no difference, and in about 2007, I was changed to Citalopram. I have suffered from undiagnosed GAD, and this year started also suffering paralyzing panic attacks. My GP changed my medication to Sertraline and prescribed Valium to take as needed, but I’m not sure it helped. I was also prescribed Zopiclone to take at night. This did work, but the withdrawal was horrible, even after 2 weeks. My panic attacks were so intense and awful that I sought the help of a private psychiatrist. He was fantastic and diagnosed previous PTSD, GAD, and panic disorder. He changed my SSRI to Escitalopram and pregabalin. It makes me feel woozy, but the anxiety and panic have completely gone! The reviews of pregabalin here are incredible for GAD. It’s very early days, but I’m feeling 1000% better. Phew….! Definitely try this medication."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "This drug literally saved my life. I was in remission since 2017 on escitalopram, but then moved to another country, started a new job, and experienced family issues in December 2021. My GAD came back as strong as ever before, I had extreme anxiety all day long, unable to experience happiness. My psychiatrist started me on clonazepam, which helped to relieve my insomnia and shaking. After some time, I tried to taper clonazepam with strong rebounds of anxiety. My doctor changed escitalopram to venlafaxine with no effect. After 6 months of this torture, I started to lose hope and began thinking about other ways to end my suffering. After that, my psychiatrist started me on pregabalin. Then, a miracle happened. After just 10 days on pregabalin, I started to feel more relaxed, my anxiety was slowly vanishing, and I could sleep longer. The dosage was elevated to 250 mg daily, and after 2 months, I experienced a full-lasting recovery."

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "I was taking Xanax to calm the muscle spasms and Tylenol 3 for severe pain. This combination worked, but I was terrified of addiction. Now taking 75 mg Lyrica 3x a day. Pain almost gone after two days, but I'm dizzy, falling down, sleeping in a stupor for 18 hours a day, weight gain 7 lbs a month for 5 straight months, can't remember vocabulary, feel dumb down."

Pregabalin for Neuropathic Pain "600 mg of Lyrica works wonders for me. It's a very good drug and completely takes away the pain. Without this drug, I would go insane. I've gone days with so much pain that I thought of committing suicide. Really awful feeling because I have always enjoyed life, and I'm only 38. Nerve pain is by far the most painful pain I have ever had. To all of you who suffer out there, there will always be a medicine that can help you. Don't give up, there is a way out of this horrible condition. I hope everyone finds relief."

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "It works best for me, better than narcotic pain relievers, and better than Neurontin (pregabalin), which I'm amazed isn't on this list, as it is very similar to Lyrica. I have no side effects with the medication, and I take it for chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. Hopefully this will help someone, it was well worth trying for me."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I have had severe anxiety for over 16 years since my daughter was born, and I have gotten to the point that I just think I'M GOING TO HAVE TO LIVE WITH THIS. Then last night, I was taking my propranolol when I noticed I had some Lyrica, which the doctors gave me ages ago but I would not take it. I was that desperate yesterday, I took some. For the first time in 16 years, I have no anxiety or panic (this is about an hour after taking the Lyrica). I slept properly for the first time, and I am also doing tasks in the house that I normally put off as I'm so agitated. Going to the doctor in the morning to see if he will give me a script for them. I notice a change more or less immediately. I would recommend this medicine to anyone who has anxiety."

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "I was prescribed Lyrica (pregabalin) about 6 months ago. I was so shocked by the feelings of unreality it initially caused that I quickly stopped taking it. My fibromyalgia got so bad at the end of the year that I decided to try it again. I take low doses, 25 mg 2x a day, sometimes a 50 mg. The effect sets in within hours. My fibromyalgia pain is almost completely gone. A late evening dose allows me to sleep longer. I do feel strange when I take it, and my intellectual capacity is quite affected, but the lack of distraction by the pain and better social interaction with increased confidence levels makes up for that. I have to make sure that authorities and decision-making bodies are aware of my reduced competence."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Broke my ankle in three places and all my bones. Was given Lyrica for nerve damage. But I have suffered with severe depression my entire life. Tried all antidepressants and they worked for a while. Started Lyrica and woke up happy. Never felt so great in my life. I feel this drug has really saved me and I'm 59 years old. So happy now. Glad I was given Lyrica. I do eat more but I'll watch that. If you're suffering from anxiety, panic attacks, or depression, take Lyrica. I'm only on 50mg three times a day. So happy. Feel productive again."

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "It's sad when people write a drug off because their experience was negative. With nerve pain of any kind, there are different levels of pain in which the body can get to. Sometimes I have muscle spasms with and without pain, in my face, my legs, my back, neck, and shoulders, and my eyes too. I even vomit as a result of severe pain. My vision is blurred, my breathing and anxiety levels are greatly affected. Lyrica makes most of this go away. Please understand not all meds suit every individual, so you have to try different things till one works for you. I also took Lyrica in pregnancy and have a healthy chubby little baby boy, 100% okay. This med gave me part of my life back. Living with pain is crucifying, but living with Lyrica is a solution!!! For me, anyway."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I started taking pregabalin yesterday - started at a low dose of 75mg in the morning, then 75mg in the evening. The effect was pretty much instant, I swear. I went from being hypersensitive, worrying, stressing, and having all these horrible physical symptoms (from the anxiety disorder I have been diagnosed with) to being calm, having a subtle feeling of well-being... my acid reflux stopped, my muscles have started to lose their tension, the tension headaches are lifting too. Side effects? A little sleepy, but nothing too severe. I haven't listened to music for months and been able to enjoy it, but today I AM! ... amazing! I feel like a normal person, it's like the volume has been turned down on life to a level I can manage :)"

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "For the first time in my life, I feel relaxed, happy, and content. Less irritability, more stability, and fewer emotional outbursts, if any. I'm autistic, have major depression, and extremely bad anxiety. I have had insomnia all my adult life. I've tried every antidepressant, sedative like diazepam, and nothing has helped. I've experienced lots of horrendous side effects. I do take duloxetine as well. But pregabalin has changed my life. I no longer have suicidal thoughts and I feel so relaxed like never before. I sleep much better and don't have night terrors."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I've been taking Pregabalin for 2 years now, and it's been an absolute lifesaver. Lifted my depression immediately, and although anxiety does not diminish completely, it makes it so much more bearable. It's the only drug that's ever worked for me. I wish I'd found it sooner. It makes me feel like I'm normal again and gives me the motivation I've always lacked. 10/10 from me."

Pregabalin for Neuropathic Pain "Beware of this drug. I’ve taken it for over 12 years now and have been tapering off it for well over a year and a half. Withdrawal from this drug can be a life-altering, career-destroying experience. The anxiety and depression can be extreme. Horrible brain fog, severe insomnia, paranoia, severe mood swings, and anger that approaches rage. My research indicates that severe withdrawal is fairly uncommon, but there is no way to know if you’ll be a victim. And the after-effects can last for years, trying the patience of loved ones, your employer, doctors, and friends. If you are considering going on Lyrica or have been on it for only a short time, consider stopping as soon as you can. But beware - even short-term exposure can lead to nasty, long-lasting withdrawals. I’ve read one person's account of only taking it for two weeks, and she still spent a year in withdrawal."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Been using Lyrica for less than a month together with Lexapro (aka Cipralex in Europe). Since Lexapro did not have a good sedative effect, this medication did its job - cooled down all emotions and I could more easily manage my life. Let’s not forget only this - this is not an AD, that in chemical way restores neurotransmissions in your brain, this is more symptomatic cure and once you need to stop it - it all could come back. Therefore, while on this drug, be sure you use your time wisely - go to therapy and learn new ways of your daily life, as this is your goal, not drugs. They just help to cool down, but the rest - just in your hands."
