"My new doctor just prescribed me 1 mg prazosin for my anxiety. I've been taking it for about 3 days, and I'm just staying lightheaded and feeling like it's giving me anxiety. So, for now, I would say it's not helping."

"It effectively stopped my night terrors. I used to wake up frequently screaming, I was terrified to go to sleep. Finally, I can sleep without fear of my dreams. I am taking 4 mg before sleeping."

"This caused me depression, it continues to cause me anxiety. Literature is available that suggests this should never be used as an anxiolytic."

"I am on a nigh-useless low dose since an average dose caused me to experience depression. That this drug could be considered 'helpful' in the treatment of PTSD or anxiety is a dangerous joke."

"Took my first dose last night. Woke with a terrible sinus headache. Weird dreams as well."

"After 40 years of asking various MDs for help with extreme sound sensitivity to what I call 'intrusive sounds' (when I can't find quiet in my home, which has caused me to sell a house and leave apartments), a neurologist offhandedly suggested I try this. THE NEXT DAY I started reacting far less to these sounds. Also, the quality of my sleep improved and my intense morning anxiety began to subside. I attribute my sound sensitivity to child abuse (raging, alcoholic father). I suggested prazosin to a friend who had a profound startle reaction, from child abuse, and it went away. My MD noticed the change in me and told me he started prescribing prazosin to his anxious patients, with some success (not with everyone). After you first start taking it, don't get out of bed suddenly for a few days because it has an initial side effect of possibly causing you to faint, but this goes away once your body adjusts."
