Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Bowel Preparation "I have always used MiraLAX, plain with water, I just drink and get it over with. The Dulcolax tabs work too, so I don't ever have problems, but the magnesium citrate 6 hours before the procedure, for me, is the worst. That 10 ounces of bitter saltwater taste takes forever to finish - I'm already clean and still have to drink it. I tried MoviPrep, and the pain, stomach cramps were awful. But with colon cancer years ago, I'm grateful each time the colonoscopy is fine, and a little night of MiraLAX is nothing."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Constipation "I took the normal adult dosage of MiraLAX because the medication I’m on for my gastroparesis is making me constipated. Here it is, around 4 hours later, and I’m nauseous, dizzy, my heart rate is up over 100, and my stomach hurts. Plus, I am still constipated. I’m laying in bed on a sunny, beautiful day when I could be outside because I can’t even lift my head up off my pillow without being dizzy and nauseous. I’m never taking this stuff again!!"

Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Constipation "I've been taking ClearLax for a little over a week now. I kept complaining to my wife for years about bowel movement troubles. She told me if I'm having so much trouble to buy some Miralax. I found ClearLax with the same ingredients as Miralax. Anyway, my constipation was driving me crazy and was painful. I was having trouble with hemorrhoids, stomach cramps, bowel movements, and etc., you name it. I no longer use Preparation H and feel great."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Constipation "I've suffered from constipation most of my life, using different laxatives such as senna, Dulcolax, milk of magnesia, suppositories, and enemas. They worked, but they would also give me very loose stools and/or horrible stomach cramping. I was having another bad bout of constipation, alternating 3 days before I would have a BM. Decided to give MiraLAX a try after my brother, who also had chronic constipation, recommended it to me. I took it after a meal before bedtime, and I noticed my stomach was gurgling but no real discomfort, I think I could feel the stuff moving everything through the colon. Woke up this morning, and after drinking some more water, I was able to finally have a bowel movement that was firm yet soft and not watery whatsoever. Finally, relief! I'd also like to note that I usually strain really hard to have a BM, but with MiraLAX, all I had to do was relax, and it came right out. Would definitely recommend!"

Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Constipation "I am 20 years old and have had problems with bowel movements since I've been potty trained. I've usually had one extreme to the other, but going to the bathroom was never easy for me. I finally went to see my doctor to see if there was anything we could do about this. Throughout my childhood, I've been on different medications, but nothing helped. Now finding out I'm lactose intolerant doesn't help either. She prescribed me MiraLAX, and I have to say when I use it correctly (that is, taking it every day and drinking enough liquids with it), it works wonders. I no longer get stomach cramps or gas."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Constipation "It may have helped the slightest bit, but it was not worth the side effects. First, it was feeling really warm, increased heart rate, shaking, and breathing issues, and then it became a stomach ache and a really bad bout of dizziness. I also didn't even use a full dose for adults and only took two drinks of my water, and I was down for the rest of the day. A healthy 21-year-old female, and I have no known preexisting conditions that would have interfered."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Constipation "I take bisacodyl and 1 cap of ClearLax (in water or Sprite/7Up) before bedtime - it works brilliantly for me. Highly recommend that you at least try ClearLax; you don't have to use the Dulcolax/major tablets with it, but that's what works for me... so everyone's body is different. I have not experienced any upset tummy as I did with Dulcolax; but with the major and ClearLax, I feel perfectly fine and good to get on with my day after noon..."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Constipation "I have severe bloating and stomach cramps. I had an unusual incidence of severe constipation, and after it resolved, my doctor prescribed MiraLAX. After six days, I still haven't been to the bathroom except partially with an enema and have severe cramps. My whole gut is swollen and churns around like I have diarrhea, except it won't come out. I suspect it has harmed my normal gut bacteria. I will not take it again."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Constipation "It's a hit or miss with this. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and when it does work, I barely go at all. Most of the time I take this, and hours later I get stomach cramps and bloating, but no bowel movement. I have chronic painful constipation, and nothing seems to help. The doctor recommends this to me all the time, but it just doesn't work for me."

For Constipation "My doctor prescribed generic Miralax every day due to chronic constipation. I now take it sparingly. It works wonders! I was on it for a good straight week last week, stopped for about 4 days, and had gurgling, excessive gas, loose stool too. (I am drinking Miralax as we speak now, LOL.) I definitely need it. I'm planning on taking it every other day or every 2 days. It's helped tremendously."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Bowel Preparation "I took 2 Ducalax tablets at 4 (totally forgot to take with a bunch of water). My stomach was in knots after about 30 minutes. I felt awful. Then I started the first half (32 ounces and 119 ounces of MiraLAX) about 30 minutes after drinking it. I felt so, so sick! It was like I induced the flu. My stomach hurt so bad, and I was extremely nauseous. It subsided after an hour and a half. I think I crapped my brains out for 4 hours. I took the second dose, and I felt the same way. Felt extremely flu-like for hours! My stomach hurt so bad! More pooping for about 4 hours. I honestly don’t know if I would recommend this way. It honestly cleared me out, though. They said it was a good prep. The nausea wasn’t worth it."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Constipation, Acute "I’m a healthy 24-year-old female. Usually very regular. But after a recent round of antibiotics, I was suddenly constipated for about 9 days. I tried everything: Metamucil, prune juice, Dulcolax. I finally decided to try MiraLAX. The first time I took a capful, the recommended dosage, it did nothing. Then a couple of days later, I upped the dosage. I poured half the bottle into about 8 oz of prune juice and chugged it. I didn’t feel anything until 3 1/2 hours later (around 10:30 pm). When I tell y’all BUBBLE. GUTS. The most sudden and abrupt bout of gas, gurgling, cramping, and farting. I felt like I was going to poop my pants. I ran to the bathroom. Everything in my stomach was melted and pouring out of me. Not all liquid, just very, very soft stool coming out in a steady stream. For the rest of the night and into today (it’s 3 pm), I’m battling diarrhea. It’s not as bad now, and the cramping has stopped. But I feel so much lighter and relieved."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Constipation "So I had nausea for about three months straight. After countless visits and endless tests, I finally got into a GI specialist who immediately told me I was severely constipated. I was put on MiraLAX for one day with 15 capfuls in a 64 oz Gatorade. Do not chug the drink! I was told to drink within 8 hours, but if it goes over a little, that's fine. I was also told to stay moving! It helps the bowels, and if you lay down, it could make you throw up. It began to work in about 6 hours. I’m on one capful daily, and I am going to be taking it for a month, and honestly, it has done wonders for me. It does make my stomach hurt and causes slight nausea, but I’ll take it to fix it!"

For Constipation "After suffering with IBS for 40 years, it has changed from diarrhea to constipation. My gastro suggested Miralax. I took one packet one day, no reaction. Took same next day, started going that afternoon, and haven’t stopped since, four days later. Very messy, soft-serve ice cream consistency. Also nauseous, fatigued, stomach cramps, and can't leave the house due to uncontrollable BMs. If I ever take it again, it will be one time and at a much smaller dose."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 for Constipation "I was diagnosed with IBS-C and chronic constipation about two years ago. The doctor simply wrote me off with a prescription that didn't work. Tired of tons of prescriptions that didn't help me go and gave me horrible symptoms, I ventured out on my own and drastically changed my diet, but even that didn't work! Finally, I tried Miralax because it was the only thing left and my doctor kept urging me to. I am so glad I did! I go two to three times a day and have normal stool. Sometimes my stool is on the runnier side, or I get stomach cramps before a bowel movement, but I am very happy with this product! It dissolves very well in any kind of drink. I recommend people to try it and give it about two weeks to work. Also, drink your water!"
