"I've been taking MiraLAX, as my mom tells me, ever since I switched to formula. I'm not a good eater, so I'm always constipated. However, MiraLAX works pretty much all the time. It would get a 10, except that it failed today. I took my usual dosage, and I was still constipated. I guess it's because I've been taking it my entire life."

"Last year I had constipation really bad. I was going to the doctor many times. Then my doctor recommended MiraLAX. I took it for a while, and after I got normal again, my doctor said I could stop. I was going regularly, now I haven't been in 6 days and have been using MiraLAX for 3 (today's the 3rd). It hasn't worked yet, but I'm hopeful it will!"

"Not long after a colonoscopy, my movements seemed off. I thought it was no biggie-until things basically shut down. I never knew that constipation could be so tough, depressing, and scary. It was like my body was rebelling and not obeying orders. Got a box of MiraLAX packets and took my first daily dose around 6 PM, hoping that it would work and not take three days. Within a few hours, it seemed like something was happening. There was some gurgling and expelled gas. Normally, that might be bad, but under the circumstances, it was a hopeful sign. Around 1 AM, I finally went, and it was painful and not fun-but what a relief! I've had two more movements since then (it's the next day), and each one has been easier than the last. So just one dose and seemingly back to normal! I can't imagine what a chronic case of this must be like.... I almost feel guilty that my cure went so well. Anyway, there's no bad taste to it, and I'm glad it worked. Worth a try, I think."

"I'm a 24-year-old that recently had back surgery. They had me on tons of medications, of course, one being a stool softener because a lot of medicine intake tends to make one constipated. Well, the stool softener that I had to take twice daily didn't work one bit. I got so bloated and had some serious stomach pains that I finally decided to try a laxative (never having tried one before, I was a little intimidated). Now, before injuring myself and having the surgery, my BMs were extremely regular: once a day. After that, I was rarely going. When I tried MiraLAX, it worked within the hour of drinking it in some ginger ale! I felt SO MUCH BETTER! It makes your stomach gurgle and gives slight cramps, but worth it in the long run!"

"Ok, so I had a doctor's appointment for yearly check-up. Decided to get honest and tell the nurse practitioner about my experiences in the bathroom. I had years of rectal bleeding, painful BMs, and likely a fissure. Lots of apprehension, I figured that I might even need an operation on the hemorrhoids. So she said I am going to prescribe you MiraLAX and take a cap daily. So in 2 days, my BM came and it was not painful and soft but formed. I cut down to half a cap a day and now it has been 4-5 months and I never have pain or bleeding or nonsense in the bathroom since. I do not care if I am addicted to it. The stuff is an important quality of life medication for me."

"If you have trouble with chronic constipation. You're using Konsyl and things are better bulk-wise but still way too hard. MiraLAX is wonderful. Keep adjusting the amount and you will be a much happier camper."

"I have taken MiraLAX since I was 3 years old due to a medical condition. The product does what it should, but after about 3 years it acquired a flavor that I can't stand. I mix it with other drinks, and over time it ruins those drinks for me also. If you can get past the flavor, it is a miracle product."

"I’ve been constipated for the last 5 years after 2 major surgeries on my brain/spine due to brain cancer, which left me paralyzed. My dr finally prescribed MiraLAX after other laxatives were not working. I’m really hoping this works, as at the moment I only have a bowel movement once every 1-2 weeks. As of today, it’s actually been 3 weeks and 2 days since I’ve had a BM. Just took this medication an hour ago, and I already have diarrhea. I hope this doesn’t last long. I just want a normal BM for once."

"It felt like I had a rock in my back that needed to come out of my bottom part. Long story short, when you are full of poop, it hurts, lol, and you need to get that poop out! This is my first day taking MiraLAX, and it started working on me in a couple of hours. I'm released and relieved."

"I was on it for 9 months and had bladder burning for 3 months after that. I need a colonoscopy but don't know what to use as I have kidney disease. I've also had precancerous polyps. I need to do a colonoscopy but don't want to lose my kidneys. I do not recommend polyethylene glycol (MiraLAX)."

"I have an issue of constipation due to radiation treatment 25 years ago. I used to have 'sticky poop,' which was difficult to expel, and after a few days, I would have horrible stomach pain and explosive diarrhea. I took a stool softener for about 4 years, which helped until recently. I started MiraLAX 4 days ago. I have lots of gas, but no pain. I have 2-4 small stools a day. I will continue taking it for a while and see if things improve."

"I have always had constipation all my adult life. I had a C-section at the age of 20, and at 25, I had a partial hysterectomy, which was the start of the constipation. I used laxatives and enemas for years until laxatives made me so sick I just used enemas daily. Between ages 25 to 32, I had 4 female surgeries, including the partial hysterectomy. During all this, I was also diagnosed with spastic colon and anxiety issues. I have done the milk of magnesia, magnesium citrate liquid, and enemas all these years. Now I take 2 capfuls daily of the MiraLAX powder from behind the counter, and most days have 2 or 3 bowel movements. Occasionally, I do use milk of magnesia when I feel I am not emptying well, but MiraLAX is less harsh."

"After several weeks of constipation (not that I was ever regular), my doctor had me try this. Ironically, I'd just picked up a package of it. I took it around 5 pm and had a bowel movement at 9 am the following morning. I went several times after that. There was lots of tummy grumbling but no cramps to speak of. I did feel 'off' the rest of the day, but I believe that was due to a fever with the cold I was coming down with. Would definitely use this again."

"It may have helped the slightest bit, but it was not worth the side effects. First, it was feeling really warm, increased heart rate, shaking, and breathing issues, and then it became a stomach ache and a really bad bout of dizziness. I also didn't even use a full dose for adults and only took two drinks of my water, and I was down for the rest of the day. A healthy 21-year-old female, and I have no known preexisting conditions that would have interfered."

"I had MiraLAX after a surgery last week. I took it once daily, it didn't produce a bowel movement for 6 days, but when it did, the stool was soft and came out without straining, which is good because I had open-heart surgery. I will continue to take it until I am off of the pain medication, which last time I was on it caused a horrendously painful softball-sized poop."

"It works just fine for constipation. I took it 3 times before in the past, but the 4th time I took it, which was a couple of years ago, my blood pressure dropped really low, 81/48. Felt tired all day, not wanting to do anything. Would not recommend if you are on blood pressure medication too. Check with your doctor."

"I've been addicted to opiates for a long time. I recently started methadone, and it has caused constipation I've never experienced. The constipation has caused hemorrhoids and has made it very painful to go poop every time. Not to mention, I am gay, and the hemorrhoids have ruined my husband and my sex lives... But after my doctor recommended MiraLAX, I am so amazed and surprised at how regular I am... After only 7 doses, I am back to normal, and my hemorrhoids are almost gone. No more bleeding when I poop and no more pain. I'm so thankful. It's kind of expensive but so worth it. I'm very thankful."

"I am constipated due to 6 autoimmune diseases and all the medications I have to take. It was the first time I ever needed this type of medication. I have a high tolerance level, but something told me to try a half dose. I can say it 100% worked and worked too well, quick too. I would make sure I have a night with the only plan is to take care of myself."

"After taking a new medication for 10 days with no problem, once I titrated my dose to twice what I'd been taking, I ceased to poop. No poop other than a few 'rabbit turds' here and there for 6 days. On the 4th day of no poop, I took a dose of MiraLAX. On the 5th day, I took a dose in the AM and one in the PM, at bedtime. Same thing on the 6th day. Finally, I'd had enough waiting. I did the Dulcolax/MiraLAX colon cleanse for colonoscopy that is listed on many medical facility websites. I chose one with 4 tablets of Dulcolax, followed a few hours later by 8.3 oz (approximately 14 doses) of MiraLAX dissolved into 64 oz of Gatorade. It took 6 hours after taking the Dulcolax/nearly 2.5 hours in of drinking the drink for it to finally kick in. Whew!"

"To the person suffering with rectal fissures: That is a shame that no regular doctor prescribed you Miralax. I was prescribed that at 19 years old. I have tried Senna products, and they make me feel horrible, so Miralax is the best and the most gentle. I hope it continues to help you."

"You want to poop? This will make you poop. I don't promise you'll like the consistency, but you'll definitely poop. You can adjust your dosage to make your stool less soft, surely. Just taking half the recommended dosage, I went from barely pooping once a day to three large movements. I really only require about 1/4 of the recommended dosage to get the job done. Try it if you're constipated!"

"I just need some stability in my life. If I can't get that from a laxative, where can I? I tried this several weeks ago for 5 days with no results, so I ended up taking Dulcolax pink tabs and almost got myself hospitalized from those little pink tablets of hellfire. My doctor advised I try MiraLAX every day to keep things moving, so I tried again. Three days/doses later, I began cramping after dose three and moved my bowels eight times in six hours with much vomiting. Very different experiences from one person."

"After lower back surgery, I was prescribed Oxycodone for pain and Diazepam (Valium) for muscle spasms. The only problem is constipation, something that I had never experienced before. The instructions say that it may take up to 72 hours, and this is how long it took to work for me. I was skeptical if it was going to work at all, but it did. No pain or any problems. I went easy, the only thing is the smell is hard to describe. Haha! I took it twice a day on the advice of the nurse after the single dose didn't bring me any results the first day. Always ask your doctor for stuff like that even though it is an OTC remedy. Hope you feel better."

"Ok, maybe I am not giving it a chance, but I was and am having constipation issues. My doctor told me to use MiraLAX for 10 days every day. It has only been 4 days. It worked on day one, and now nothing, it just softens it and cannot expel it. I guess I will just have to keep trying for the next 6 days. Appointment on the 16th."

"I am 14 years old and was taking an anti-inflammatory medicine as well as a prescription painkiller for my kidney stone that I have. Those medicines made me constipated, and while I was at Children's ER, my nurse practitioner prescribed me MiraLAX. I was skeptical and afraid that it would counteract with my other medications. She assured me that it would be okay. Did you know you don't have to take it just once a day? I took 2 doses at once with 16 ounces of water, and a couple of hours later, I finally had a bowel movement. Overall, this medication is really phenomenal. The only bad thing about it is that it causes gas and nausea. Other than that, I'd say this is the best constipation reliever for all ages out there!"
