Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "I wrote before, and yes, in the night, I frequently went and so had very little sleep. I completely drank all the Plenvu but vomited the second batch and did keep drinking squash throughout. The next morning felt windy and still slightly nauseous. Examination was okay. Had a nap later and felt better then. Next day feel fine."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "This was the most horrible-tasting stuff for my 3rd colonoscopy prep. I divided how many cups I had to drink every 10-15 minutes and bought a cup at the dollar store to throw out when finished. It gave me gassy pains and did not do a good job. Fortunately, I was not rejected for the procedure. I did the split prep and felt so lousy I laid in bed with my clothes on. I got up and had a big splat in the toilet when I think I should have been finished until 4 AM for part two. At 4 AM I vomited up my first cup of the second half of the split prep. Now what was I supposed to do? I got about 4 more cups down and that was the best I could do. The Go Lytely stuff is much better. I did not try the Crystal Lite, but after drinking a laxative, I couldn't leave home. Drinking a gallon of Miralax another time did the best job. I will never take this as a prep again. It was so bad."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "I was given Plenvu in preparation for my colonoscopy. I really didn't like the taste. I struggled to drink it. Every sip was difficult. I managed to drink half of the prep, then started being sick. After that, I could not stop vomiting and became unable to drink even water. I also developed photophobia. My husband was advised to take me to A&E, where I had to receive an anti-sickness injection."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "I took MoviPrep four years ago prior to a colonoscopy, the final glassful made me sick, but it did the job. In May of this year, I needed my colonoscopy repeated and again took MoviPrep. Based on my earlier experience, I expected to be sick toward the end, but this time was much worse. I managed to get the first batch down, but as soon as I got out of bed the next morning, I vomited. There was no way I could drink another liter! I was sick four times and had to cancel my appointment. When it was rearranged, they gave me Picolax, which I was able to take with no side effects. I’ll be asking for that in the future."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "I took the first Plenvu dose at 5 pm, and about 15 minutes later, I was already flushing my system. The first dose experience was not bad at all. No stomach pain or anything (I did have anti-nausea meds), the only problem was there really was no warning when I would have to go. The second dose I took at 5 am, I got about 1/4 of it down and then puked 5 times. I wasn’t able to finish it."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "Both doses of Plenvu were disgusting. They tasted like saltwater. I thought I was going to throw up the first dose, but I did not. The second dose, however, I threw up 10 minutes after finishing. I will never drink this again. Horrible experience."

For Bowel Preparation "I'm down to my last glass of this stuff, and all I can really say is it's not for me. Every single glass of this has made me vomit 20-30 minutes after drinking. Enough of it has gone down so that it's working, so every time I vomit, liquid is also coming out of the other end. It's really awful. The vomiting is incredibly violent, and there is little warning before it happens."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "Mine was done over two days. The first dose left me feeling bloated, cramping. The next morning, I did three quarters of it, and it was all over. I vomited so hard, along with chills, shaking, and just a phone call away from 911. Did its job though."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "The taste of the first dose was unpleasant but tolerable, and it started working within an hour. I had to use the restroom twice, but it wasn't uncomfortable as a significant amount of liquid was eliminated. The second dose was one of the most repulsive drinks I've ever tasted; it felt like they mixed a pile of sugar and salt and barely added enough water to dissolve it. The taste was so overpowering that it was a mental struggle to finish it, and I feared that I might vomit, which would negate my efforts of following a miserable diet for the past few days. To get through it, take your time, hold your nose, and rinse your mouth with water or juice after each sip. The second dose started working about 90 minutes after consumption, at around 10 pm and continued throughout the night and into the morning."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "I'm 19 and taking MoviPrep for my first colonoscopy. Or should I say was taking it. First glass was terrible, but with a plugged nose and a strong chaser, it was possible. The second glass was absolutely horrible. About halfway through it, I vomited twice, got the chills, and called my doctor to cancel. I'm rescheduled with a different prep (with only 4 total tablespoons of prep and a ton of water!). The rest of the day, my stomach was upset and came close to vomiting multiple times. It's now 12 (did the half a liter at 5), and the bowels just started moving. Would not recommend, it's terrible, and there are better alternatives!"

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "I've attempted a few colonoscopies before - all with poor results because of my intolerance to the bowel prep. I was determined to get a good result this time and to give the doctor the best view she could get. I read countless reviews and gleaned the following tips: 1. Chill the Plenvu, 2. Add crushed ice blocks before drinking. Have iced Sprite and/or soda water, tap water, and Woolworths lemonade icy poles on hand. (Some people like black tea or coffee as well.) 6. Take a sip of Plenvu and while you still have Plenvu in the straw, sip some Sprite. Place the straw as far back on your tongue as possible. Swallow and chug down some normal water. Munch on the icy pole every few sips. I found the second dose harder - eventually did half and half Plenvu/Sprite (in small quantities), chasing it with water. I still threw up some of the second dose, but the first dose did most of the work. Good result and don't have to face the ordeal for five years. Good luck!"

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "I started my prep at 10:00 tonight, 3/6/2015, late due to the storm and having to travel 6 hours away. First off, this isn't my first and won't be my last. I started just on clear liquids on Tuesday so I wouldn't have a lot to come out. So I drank my first liter at 10:00 and not 5 minutes after my first 8 ounces, I was in the bathroom. I continued and got both liters down and have had some ice chips. It's 2:25 AM, I am still on the commode and it's all clear. I did have issues with vomiting this time, which is not me, I have these at least every three months. But overall, I am now hoping I am on the downside and can lay down and get warm. The chills are the worst."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "Five years ago, I was prescribed MoviPrep prior to a colonoscopy. Although it was effective, I began to vomit due to the sheer volume of putrid liquid I was instructed to drink within an hour. The 'cleansing' was unpredictable and constant. I was instructed to take a split dose, the net result was absolutely no sleep for 24 hours. I had another colonoscopy this week and requested another prep. The doctor prescribed something else that was so much better. Not to say the initial 5 oz. didn't taste horrible, it did, but the rest of the prep was manageable. I took a split dose and was able to sleep before and after the second dose. I will never take this product again."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "I drank the first dose and 30 minutes later began vomiting. I’m not able to have the colonoscopy because it did not stay in my system. Be forewarned: it is awful. Extremely salty but also sour with a viscous texture. I managed to get it down, only to get nauseated."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "Started at 6 pm for early morning colonoscopy. I thought the mango flavor was okay and managed to drink extra easily. Then I struggled with the horrid fruit punch flavor that made me nauseous. I finished it, and then 5 minutes later, I vomited. Finally, I passed the first watery stools an hour later. I'm gurgling now, another hour later, after a few more motions, so I expect I will go again during the night."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "I did both doses of Plenvu as directed. The first evening dose didn’t taste good, as many people have already shared, but I did chill it and used Sprite as a chaser to help finish it. It definitely did its job after about 1 hour. Dose 2 in the morning didn’t go as well. I was able to finish it with the help of apple juice this time, but I immediately got very nauseous and ended up vomiting two times after about 45 minutes from drinking the 2nd dose. I am not sure if my stomach was just very empty, but the 2nd dose was just hard to do in the morning after going through the bowel cleanse for most of the night. Thankfully, the 1st dose must have done a good job because it still did its job, and I was able to have my colonoscopy. I don’t know how people are able to get through the 2nd dose. It made me so sick to my stomach. I will definitely try something else in 5 years, and let’s hope there are even better options."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "It was very effective cleaning out bowels; however, Plenvu's taste was awful. Second dose tasted a tiny bit better than the first dose. I threw up all of the second dose after 25 minutes of finishing it. I would never use this prep again because of the horrible taste."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "Absolutely NEVER take this. I got the first dose down with some serious struggling. The second dose at 6 a.m., and I started gagging after I was about 3/4 finished. Then I started vomiting and having diarrhea within minutes. I vomited more than I ever have in my life. No matter how many fluids I drank, I felt like a prune. -1,000/10"

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "This was my third colonoscopy. I found the flavor of the first packet of this prep, which I refrigerated, very offensive. Took it at 4:45 p.m., and it just sat in my stomach hurting it. Threw pretty much all of it up 3 and 1/4 hours later. Why not let the consumers select a flavor of choice? This medication didn't work until I vomited, and then it started to cause mild movement. Ended up mixing a double dose of Miralax to compensate for the first phase since there was no way to reach the prescribing doctor after hours. I drank plenty of water too. I mixed the last dose and drank 4-6 sips at a time throughout the night, which helped move things along. Couldn't finish the whole prep though, and I usually can. Luckily for me, I had fasted most of the week, so I accomplished this process successfully. I much prefer the last brand I had over this one. Also, I was given a coupon to use that the pharmacist insisted didn't work, so I lost money purchasing this brand to boot. Won't use this brand again!"

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "Everyone's experience will be different, and I was determined to be positive, but they couldn't have made a worse-tasting prep if they tried! Ghastly. Stage one tasted nasty but worked. Stage two (commenced 5 a.m.) had a truly dreadful taste and mixture so concentrated it makes you vomit. Instructions say to take over half an hour, but the nurse said later it's better to take Stage 2 over one hour or you do get nausea. Sipped both stages through a straw to get it down and chewed gum after every sip to take the taste away. 3rd time endoscopy, would go back to Moviprep next time. It's awful too, but not as bad as Plenvu. Rating based on effectiveness, doctors prefer it apparently."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "GaviLyte made me acutely ill the first time I took it 15 years ago for my first colonoscopy and also my most recent in October 2018. Five years ago, I used a Miralax prep for a colonoscopy with much better results and no acute illness. In October 2018, the doctor's office insisted I go back to the GaviLyte. I informed them it made me sick. They gave me ONE Zofran for nausea for their TWO-stage prep. I got through the first part of the prep that started 4 hours after taking Zofran. But when I started the second stage of taking the remaining half gallon of GaviLyte at 2:30 am, the Zofran had worn off, and I became acutely ill. Not just with vomiting, but with malaise so severe from head to toe that I was calling out to my husband for help in between head-in-the-toilet vomiting. They called off the colonoscopy, and the week of preparation was for naught. Now I have to repeat the process. At least this time it will be with Miralax, NOT GaviLyte."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "Never ever again. I just finished the second dose of the prep, and I'm lying in bed with a bag, taking deep breaths, praying not to vomit. This is my 3rd colonoscopy, but the first time during my cleanout that I've felt like I was going to puke. I'd rather drink a ton of liquid and feel okay than drink this 'low volume' prep and feel sick to my stomach. I can't imagine ever tasting that disgusting liquid again. In fact, I may just delay my next preventative procedure. I'm now scared of the prep."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "You know how the dentist always had that fluoride paste that they let you choose the flavor of as a kid, bubblegum or orange or chocolate, and the supposed 'flavor' was always a lie? This is like that but worse. It supposedly tastes like mango. I've never had a mango that tastes like saltwater. The flavor and consistency is disturbingly similar to semen. So hard to get it down without retching. I swear the prep I did for years ago, which made me want to die, was less disgusting than this one."

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with electrolytes for Bowel Preparation "So I was absolutely terrified to use this medication due to the reviews and the fact that every time I have done a colonoscopy prep, I get violently ill, like both ends going at the same time. It is just horrible. But this one surprisingly did not make me vomit. I will say this time around I made sure throughout the day I stayed very hydrated, and I took Zofran prior to starting, which I think helped a lot. I did notice chills at the beginning, and then I did have some body aches, but this went away. I kept the prep super cold and drank it slowly. I also put mine over ice and chased it with water or apple juice. For reference, also I am 23 and 112 pounds. It is a tough prep but just breathe and take your time. :) It is all for a good cause."
