For Bowel Preparation "Just finished my seventh 8-ounce glass and threw up a lot. My gag reflex is so bad now, I can't drink the eighth glass. I need to finish the other half of the solution 6 hours prior to my colonoscopy. I'm crying. This stuff is horrible and disgusting. I gagged on the fourth, fifth, and sixth glasses too. I'm dreading the second half of the container. Nothing helps. I've had a colonoscopy before, and the prep wasn't this horrible. Do not let your doctor prescribe this."

For Bowel Preparation "Caused vomiting with the first half of dosage. On the second half had vomiting with blood, bright red. Was told to stop using it. Had to have an enema just before the colonoscopy. The day after the colonoscopy, my stomach is still nauseated."

For Bowel Preparation "I wish I had read the reviews before taking MoviPrep. Firstly, the taste is vile. I don't know how, in this day, a medication can be so bad. Much respect to those who have posted they drank it in 10 minutes! It took me 2 hours, and even then, I had to stop myself from gagging and throwing up. My best advice is wet wipes (much softer than loo roll), and my trick in the end was gargling a strong mouthwash until my mouth was numb and drinking as much as I could - and repeat. Good luck. The second dose was just as bad. I need to man up, I know! But although very effective - vile, vile, vile...."

For Bowel Preparation "This is my first colonoscopy prep at 52 years old. Felt it was time with a few people around me with cancer. I better get in and get checked. After reading all the reviews, I wanted to add mine to the list for people like me who are anxious and scared. My heart rate was 130 when I started drinking the stuff. Listen, I have had a good experience thus far. Your diet and fluid intake make a HUGE difference. I made homemade soup: chicken bone broth, roast chicken, carrots, celery, onion, and squash. I ate that 3 days before my procedure. The day before, I ate NOTHING. Just had water. I drank 6 bottles of water, 16.9 oz. I fixed the drink 4 hours ahead of time and put it in the refrigerator. I used a straw and drank the liquid over 45 mins. I did not refill the same container. I drank another 16 oz of water in between sips. Started at 4:30 pm. By 5:15 pm, I had my first movement. No cramping. No nausea, no vomiting. You can do it! It’s not as bad as most make it out! Prep well."

For Bowel Preparation "First glass okay, then started to vomit. Forced myself the other half a liter due to operation, however, could drink no more as I was terribly ill, vomiting. My operation had to be postponed. I am now waiting an alternative. MoviPrep is gross to drink, but does make the bowels move."

For Bowel Preparation "Never had problems with GoLightly. Dr. insisted on Plenvu even though I said I did not want it or the out-of-pocket cost of $50. Packet #1 tastes worse than GoLightly. Plus, I projectile vomited after the bottle of water. Also, my nose started running immediately with the first taste. I used an entire box of Kleenex. Did not want to miss my colonoscopy. Had already had to reschedule. So I used Magnesium Citrate to replace the first packet, which was vomited. I have no reaction to this $2 per bottle drug either. Waited required time and took the 2nd packet. Tasted better, but I never made it through the whole bottle without having to throw up again. Even though I had watery diarrhea all night, I got sent home the next morning for 'poor bowel prep.' I did get a FREE bottle of GoLightly this time. This will be my last attempt at a colonoscopy, which has never bothered me before Plenvu."

For Bowel Preparation "I was supposed to take 2 liters of MoviPrep at 5 pm and another 2 liters at 8 pm. After taking 1.5 liters, I became unwell with severe nausea and vomiting. It was impossible for me to take any more as I was vomiting it all back up immediately. Unable to go ahead with colonoscopy as I was unable to take enough to clear my bowel. The taste was horrendous, very salty."

For Bowel Preparation "Just finished split prep for colonoscopy this morning. Not as bad as I had feared - chilled solution, used a straw and chasers, finished with mints. Could not drink the final glass (knew I would vomit), but was well cleaned out. Clear your schedule and have good reading material handy, and it's not too bad."

For Bowel Preparation "I just finished my first liter of MoviPrep for my colonoscopy tomorrow. It's disgusting tasting and very hard to swallow, I'm constantly gagging. It does exactly what it's supposed to, though I feel like I'm peeing from my butt, and it's definitely cleaning out my system. I'm dreading the next liter in the morning."

For Bowel Preparation "Absolutely the worst stuff I have ever tasted. It would be better if it was plain, not lemon flavor. Unfortunately, I have just taken the first dose and vomited up at least 8 ounces of it. May not make the procedure because I am not sure I can take the second dose. Pure torture."

For Bowel Preparation "This is my first time having bowel prep for the colonoscopy. I started my first prep around 4 pm after my lunch finished at 12 pm. I finished one liter solution in one attempt, but it was an unbearable taste. My bowel movement started around 5:30 pm. Do not ask about the poo, it is almost water and continued until my second dose started at 8:30 pm. I was really disgusted with the taste. During my first glass of the second prep, I literally vomited, I still kept continuing until I finished the second prep. My last prep is the following morning at 8 am. Let's see how it goes..."

For Bowel Preparation "By far the most disgusting bowel prep I have taken (5 in all). The taste was horrible, even while plugging my nose. Try as I might, I could not choke down all of the second glass and wound up throwing up most of what I did drink. I will never take it again."

For Bowel Preparation "I'm 18 and having a colonoscopy tomorrow. They put me on MoviPrep and it's working! Started off chasing it with some ginger ale, but after the first 8 oz, I was gagging. I bought some melon Powerade and it went down easy. Just add some ice and mix the MoviPrep in, and it went down like a charm. I still haven't had the second 'installment' at 4 am, but I'm sure it'll go down just as easy as the first dose. Plain, it tastes wretched like this lemony salty gooey water, but mix it up and you'll be fine."

For Bowel Preparation "I was prescribed MoviPrep for a colonoscopy, which I took last night at 6 PM. It tasted absolutely horrific, it tasted like Alka-Seltzer with lemon flavor. It is very salty, and it made me feel sick - I felt like I was going to vomit for an hour. It finally worked, and I felt a lot better this morning. I know I had to take it again, so I added ice to the solution and made it very cold, and it was a lot easier to drink and it didn’t taste as bad, it seems to be working. The key here is to make it very, very cold, and it does not taste as bad. Also, some people have mixed it with Crystal Light and found it to be more pleasant."

For Bowel Preparation "First time using this product, Plenvu. Got the first dose down, but the mango flavor is awful. Started working within the hour. After many trips to the bathroom (over about a 7-hour period), I was finally able to rest. The second dose was worse. Could not keep it down and ended up vomiting most of it up an hour later. Feel dizzy and clammy. I hope the first dose and part of the second does the trick!!"

For Bowel Preparation "I'm a 29-year-old getting a colonoscopy done. I have had plenty of other preps to take, which was a lot to drink, never a pleasant taste. The Plenvu one is much less to drink, it tastes horrible. All I taste when I drink this is salt! Makes me gag and threw up after the first dose was done. The first one tastes like mango, the second dose tastes like fruit punch. I’m actually drinking the second dose now as I write this. It doesn’t get any better, the taste doesn’t linger around in your mouth. After taking the first dose, it started to work about an hour or two after. It took me about an hour to drink this! They need to come up with a pill that does the same job."

For Bowel Preparation "I am a fit 79-year-old. Walk 10 kilometers a day minimum. I weigh 51 kilograms. From the moment I started taking this obnoxious, aggressive Plenvu, I had diarrhea within the hour. Persevered with it. Vomited and diarrhea constantly until I was helped onto the theater table the next day. Had my colonoscopy (my 5th). I was and am still severely dehydrated. Rehydrated at A & E. I think this horrific drug dosage should be administered according to the weight of the patient. There is no doubt it was too much for my weight of 51 kilograms. I will NEVER take it again. Home ill in bed can only take liquids like Aquarius, electrolyte mixes, and tea."

For Bowel Preparation "This is my 2nd colonoscopy, and I found Plenvu horrendous. It tasted so much like toxic chemicals I threw up several times trying to drink it. I have a strong stomach and can eat or drink anything. This was terrible. It also made me sicker than my first prep for colonoscopy. Also, you have to get up in the middle of the night for the second dose, so you get no sleep. I would never take this again. Don’t let your doctor give this to you. Trust me. You will regret it."

For Bowel Preparation "I am taking GaviLyte now. I have drank 4 cups, and that is all I can handle. If I try to do any more, I will just throw it up anyway. It seems to be working, so hopefully 4 cups is enough. I sure hope they come up with a much better way to prepare for a colonoscopy by the next time I have to do this. This is awful!"

For Bowel Preparation "Was due to take 2 liters of MoviPrep before a colonoscopy. Took the first liter without much trouble at 7 pm and, despite gurgling, did not go to the toilet before going to bed at 10 pm. Attempted to take the second liter at 6 am but only managed to drink about half of it before I was projectile vomiting the solution plus stomach bile everywhere. Wasn't able to take anymore and still had very minimal bowel movements, so had to cancel my procedure."

For Bowel Preparation "18, from the UK, so I got this lovely stuff for free. First, I smelled it, and I was pleasantly surprised at the fragrance. I thought this wouldn't be so bad! I made up my first liter of MoviPrep in good spirits and took the first sip; it was absolutely awful. The best way to describe it, I think, is if you fully dissolved salt into water and then tried to put as much sweetener in it as possible as if the salt would be masked! Along with that artificial lemon taste you get from things like Soothers for sore throats, I was gagging every mouthful or sip. The only reason I gave this 3/10 is because after about 2 hours of starting the first liter, I was able to flush my intestines out with a powerful gush."

For Bowel Preparation "I had to take this for a colonoscopy. Having not been allowed to eat all day the day before the examination, I was quite apprehensive about putting this strange-smelling, lemony stuff in my mouth. Needless to say, I found it incredibly hard to drink. It took me around 2 1/2 hours to finish the first liter, starting at 5 pm and finishing (eventually) at 7:30 pm. It took about an hour for the medicine to work properly, after I was stuck to the sofa with bad stomach cramps. The second liter didn't go down well at all. I was very bloated and felt like I was going to vomit, which I didn't want to do, as then it would have all been for nothing. It's 5 am now, and still half a liter to go. Hoping it will be okay as I'm still stuck to the toilet."

For Bowel Preparation "With this prep, I found the taste not as bad as others. The prep worked as soon as I finished with the follow-up of 16 oz water, kept up for an hour and a few times after. Stool very dark brown and smelly. After the second dose same, sat for an hour until I thought I could try to sleep some, but during my sleep, I passed more fluid! The color of stool remained dark until just before I left for the exam and then yellow. Even after I got to the examination, I was still passing stool, and some was still in my colon during the exam. Had nausea and dry heaves after the second dose, which continued after I was at the doctor's office, very dry mouth, blood pressure up and blood sugar up very high, I am diabetic. Overall, it did work, but never before with different preps did the passing of stool continue as long as this did. So side effects and length of time my bowels were active plus not a complete cleaning are my concerns."

For Bowel Preparation "Well, it did what it was supposed to, but tastes so bad. I got through the 1st liter okay. I gulped it down. Bowels were moving about an hour after the first 8 oz. I had to drink a second liter several hours later and just couldn't do it. The taste is that bad. I threw up probably half a liter of it. Anyway, it cleaned out the bowels."

For Bowel Preparation "As soon as I smelled the MoviPrep and took the first drink, it reminded me of Lemon Pledge furniture polish. It has a strong taste and seems to get stronger with each gulp. I started at 5 pm, and by the 2nd 8 oz dose, it had started working. Stay very close to the toilet. Started the second phase at 8 am the next day and had a very difficult time drinking it. I almost vomited a few times. I could not finish the last 6 oz. I just couldn't. I did use apple juice to help, and I took a sip of juice, then gulped the mix, then another drink of juice, and it helped get it down. When you are finally going clear yellow fluid, you are clean according to my doc. That happened at the end of the 3rd dose in the morning. It worked perfectly for the test."
