For Pain "Find the use of these to be easy to take and has been very helpful to me. I have had no side effects, other than the 12 hours ends a little bit less than this! Have found that taking them at 12-hour intervals has not been quite right. I see that sometimes I have a little less than 12-hour help, and other times have gone 14 to 15 hours and been fine. Depends on digestion maybe. Urinalysis showed the rate in my body to be less sometimes and not sure why? Do know that while I was sick with the flu, I wasn't able to keep down these and did have side effects of withdrawals."

For Pain "Opana is a great pain killer, but relief lasts only 4-5 hours. One has to take another pain killer, such as hydrocodone, in conjunction with Opana. Also, Opana cost me $400 a month for sixty 60mg pills. My doctor switched me to morphine sulfate. I'll let you know how I go on this medicine."

For Pain "Opana 20 mg doesn't take away all the neck and back pain but does about 90%, so I can function. However, also for the first time in my life, it gives me headaches, hot flashes, warm blooded 4-5 of 7 days a week, and slightly edgy/difficulty with stress/adversity sometimes too."

For Pain "I have been taking Opana 30 mg since last month, and it is a very effective drug. It has given me relief that lasts, usually 12 to 18 hours, which is something that my Vicodin 10 had stopped doing. Occasionally, I will take one, and for maybe an hour or two, I will feel relief, and then NOTHING. Usually, I will go back and take another one, and it will work. I read somewhere that sometimes they go directly through your system without working. What I really like about the medication is that I am mobile, upright, and able to go about my day without feeling drugged and cloudy. The only downside is the cost, 20 pills were $220.00, and 56 were almost $600. Currently, I have a $40 co-pay on insurance, but soon my insurance will be terminated."

For Pain "I took one dose of 20 mg of Opana ER. I became dizzy, woozy, lightheaded. I developed a pounding headache! I became extremely agitated and anxious. I became very shaky. My lower back pain increased, not decreased. Seven hours after taking this one dose, I had projectile vomiting."

For Pain "Seems to be working okay. The buzz is calming after taking for 2 weeks. I'll not take the morning dose if I have to function during the day. Does help with chronic back/cervical/knee pain. Side effects are easier than morphine. That made me irritable and didn't touch the pain."

For Pain "The doctor's instructions were to take 1-2 or 3 tablets at bedtime for cervical pain. I tried 3 on 3 different evenings and, unfortunately, had absolutely no pain relief. I also tried for pain in my hip and thigh with no results. (I do have a very high pain threshold and, consequentially, need strong pain meds). Haven't yet found a drug for pain relief at night."

For Pain "Just started taking 5 mg twice a day. Doesn't seem to last as long as the doctor said it would. Also, the 5 mg doesn't take the pain away. It does ease it a little. So, on my next visit, I will tell the doctor her calculation was off. Think I would do better on 20 mg twice daily. Also, if she could give me something else to advance my stool and make it softer. That pain is worse than the knee pain."

For Pain "I have a severe lower spine injury. Opana was the only medicine that would allow me to live a normal life. Now the only thing that's available is hydrocodone acetaminophen 10-325. I get a hundred per month, but it does not help. I only wish Opana was back on the market. It allowed me to live an almost normal life instead of the restricted constant recliner handicap I live with now."

For Pain "I have been on Opana about three weeks now for severe, chronic pain. I used to be on 60 mg of OxyContin, and I took the first dose prior to getting ready to leave for work, after that, I would spend the next 10-20 minutes vomiting. Opana doesn't do that to me in a 20 mg dose, and I find the pain relief much more lasting and comfortable. The only medicine I ever took better than Opana for chronic pain relief was the once-a-day, now-defunct Pallodan."

For Pain "My doctor recently sent me to a pain management doctor to help control pain while recovering from my third knee surgery. Unfortunately, there will probably be a fourth surgery in the next 7 months for a complete replacement. I had constant pain while relaxing on the couch and extreme pain while walking, which caused other pain in my whole body due to not being able to walk correctly. My doctor had me on Tramadol 50 mg 3-4 times a day, which didn't take the pain away, it only took the edge off but did nothing for the extreme walking pain. My new pain doctor prescribed Opana ER 5 mg twice a day, Tramadol 50 mg 1-2 pills 3 times a day as needed, and Neurontin for nighttime burning pain. The only side effect is a slight morning headache. Opana ER is awesome."

For Pain "If I could have afforded it, I would still be on it! Since I suffer from Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction (hepatic region), my doctor felt that this medicine would really help since it is already broken down, causing a major decrease in possible liver damage from daily, major pain relief. It worked really well, but it would have been way over $200 a month."

For Pain "20 mg ER dosage does very little for pain stemming from my degenerative cervical and lumbar spinal discs. One tablet gives me only about two hours of relief. I am going to ask my doctor to put me back on 80 mg Oxycodone, regardless of the outrageous price."

For Pain "I'm going to be very much to the point. I had a physician that retired. I began seeing a new physician after searching for a physician I was comfortable with. I was continued being prescribed oxycodone ER 2-30 mg tab 3x a day with 4 mg hydromorphone with each dose. The physician referred me to pain management. Pain management changed meds to 100 mg oxycodone ER, that is one 40 mg and one 60 mg, and 80 mg oxycodone 2x a day and 8 mg hydromorphone every 8 hours with each dose. Then pain management switched me to oxymorphone 40 mg every 12 hours and 8 mg hydromorphone with each dose. Why is this not working? Why? Should I go back on 100 mg sulfate morphine tablet ER and 8 mg hydromorphone 3x a day? Oxymorphone is new to me, all the other meds I've been on for over 10 years."

For Pain "When treating migraines, you need a migraine medication. I don't understand why a drug of that power was given to you and used by you. However, I'm grateful to hear about that drug as I'm in need of a serious painkiller. So I'll check it out! A class of drugs called triptans are great for migraines. My only problem is I'm allergic to all of it, and because my migraines are from a brain AVM, I am in constant pain and none of the only three options known to man will be able to help as I'm not a candidate for any of them. And now, as a result of my migraines and my AVM, I've become an epileptic. Hope that info was helpful to you!"

For Pain "I just got out of the hospital, and I'm in excruciating pain. The surgeon took out my hip implants and broke my femur. I have antibiotic spacers and balls put in. I was on a baseline of fentanyl plus 100 mcg every 6 minutes via PCA, on top of a 250 mcg patch and 45 mg oxycodone every 3 hours and 40 mg of OxyContin every 8 hours. Also, Ketamine spray every 2 hours. I was released with inadequate medication, and my PM doc put me on 30 mg of Opana every 3 hours."
