"Oxytrol gave me a life without looking for the closest bathroom in a panic. I can now control my urge long enough to get to a bathroom. Only problem is it's hard to find. No longer on shelves at stores."

"I have been using the patch for about 3 years now. I have issues sometimes with the patch not sticking. If I clean my skin well with alcohol first, that helps. On occasion, I use medical tape around the edges. Overall, it sticks fine. I switch between hips. For me, that is the best area. I do on occasion experience an itchy redness, but the patch is still worth the minor occasional discomfort. I find this happens if any water gets under the patch. I had urinary urgency to go to the point I do a pee-pee dance. The patch has resolved this issue, and I no longer have accidents. If I get a cold or flu, I pee a ton when I sneeze. This is when I have to have a pad or a pull-up. Still, for every day, not sick times, the patch has improved my quality of life. I started using the patch at 46. I am 49 now. I did notice if I take an antihistamine for allergies, I have to be careful how much I take. The antihistamine seems to weaken the effect of the patch."

"I've had incontinence for some time, but it got to where the urge would hit so hard that I couldn't move until the urge passed and I could get to the bathroom. I went to the doctor, and she put me on Oxybutynin. It may be all in my head, but I swear only one 5 mg pill already has worked. I didn't have that extreme urge when I got up from a nap, like I did before. I still had the urge, but not as severe. Time will tell."

"I'm a 60-year-old male experiencing urinary stress urgency really bad. I know Oxytrol says only for women, but I needed some relief. I have gotten this med approved with my doctor's full approval. I have been on the patches now for just over a month, and they work swell. I change the patch every 4 days, and the medication seems to last me the full 4 days. I wear the patch below my belly button, down in my pubic area, which I keep shaved. It works well there. Stays on nicely."

"I have had the Oxytrol patch on for only about 24 hours and understand that it takes between 24 and 48 hours to notice any improvement, so I have noticed no improvement yet. It does not stick well, and I have had to put adhesive tape around the edges of the patch to keep it on. I don't know if I picked a bad spot (middle of my stomach), but certain ways it turns, it seems to pinch. I used nicotine patches years ago, and it seems that if these patches were smaller and less rigid, they might adhere a little better. I like the idea of a patch lasting 3-4 days, but I would prefer using one smaller patch a day if they stuck to the skin better."

"This patch provided much-needed relief from my constant need for a bathroom. I can now enjoy so many things that I could not do before the patch, like the movies, walking, or running errands without looking for a bathroom. The only drawback is the sticky adhesive marks left by the patch. But these sticky adhesive marks come off with bath oil and a fingernail brush."

"I really love this product. I don't have the irritation from the patch like some people are having. I did find out that if you have a problem with the patch not sticking, clean the area with rubbing alcohol before placing the patch, and that helps it to stick just fine. Maybe that would also help the ones with the irritation as well. Worth a try anyway. A little crinkling noise is worth dealing with compared to dealing with an overactive bladder. Another small issue is I feel that one patch is not as effective."

"Drug works, but the patch is horrible. It is plastic and wrinkles up. The edges don't adhere well, so the patch is always sticking to my clothes. I hope they fix this issue. If they do, I will buy again, but for now, I'm going to save my money."

"Red, raised skin, itchy and uncomfortable reaction at each site to the adhesive that was lasting for a week - so not only site with a patch but also from the previous patch. Dry mouth, dizziness, and nausea, but yes, reduced need to run for the bathroom, just the side effects starting causing as many problems as it was meant to be solving."

"I've been on the patch for almost 24 hours now. The only issue I am having is bad stomach cramps along with diarrhea, so hopefully that stops in the next few days. I don't want to get my hopes up just yet, but I have noticed that the urgency and frequency have decreased for me."

"I think the patch worked better for me in the beginning. Less effective now. As far as the sticking, I found it works best on my lower back area. You have to make sure there is no lotion or soap where you apply and then hold your hand over the patch for at least 15 seconds to make sure it adheres. The heat of your hand activates the adhesive. Didn't work on my abdomen, caused severe itching, but not on my backside. My local Walmart is out of stock. I am going to try eBay."

"I've been struggling for months. I pee. I still need to pee badly. Go again. Same feeling. No burning, but cramps like a period, and sex is terribly painful. Haven't been to the doctor yet, but I think I know what's going on. As a nurse, I've seen this. Struggled for months. I put the patch on yesterday, not even 24 hours, and I feel 80% better. I still feel it, but not near how I did. And if it gets better from here, that would be amazing! I recommend this patch highly. Maybe I should have waited a few days to post this, but the fact that I feel this good already needed to be shared. Worth every penny, and if you think about it, it is not that expensive. I usually get skin irritation from patches, and it's a little itchy already, but weighing out the pros and cons, who cares about itchy skin! Now, if it blisters, I'll be SOL. But for now, I have hope. I thought I had none."

"So I have multiple sclerosis/frequent and urgent bladder issues. I used these patches for several years with very good results. Worked best for 3 days, wearing for 4 days not as good on last day. Adhesive stays on after removing patch and built up over a period of time, causing skin irritation and redness. Worked best on abdomen, not as well on buttocks. Did not stick well or stay on hip. I think the reason it didn't stay as well on hip and bottom was because of heat in those areas. Overall, very satisfied with the product."

"48 hours after I began the Oxytrol patch, I have a large bright red mark on my abdomen. It looks like blisters or a burn. I removed the patch. I also am now experiencing abdominal spasms, an intense fluttering in my lower abdomen. I did not see this anywhere listed as a side effect. I'm very disappointed, I had high hopes for this product."

"Started having an overactive bladder after having a UTI treated with the wrong antibiotic. I was given two different samples of meds by a urologist and had negative reactions to both. I took a gamble with Oxytrol and, OMG, it started working within a few hours. I left the first patch on for 4 days and only used 1/2 and changed it today using the leftover other half. I am so impressed. What a relief not to have that constant feeling. I am thrilled."

"I am very happy with Oxytrol. Was on Oxybutynin for years, and it just stopped working. Major issue for me was the fear if I didn't take a 'pill,' I would have to spend the day in the bathroom. Eventually, I gave it a try, and I am very happy I did. No side effects at all. Frequency and urgency are much better. Been on it for 3 weeks now and hoping it will also start to improve the bladder pain I live with every day. I also have interstitial cystitis and Mast Cell Activation Disorder, so it's a bit of a battle, but this medication patch definitely helps. I change the patch every 3 days."

"Absolute life changer. After taking sleeping medications for 3 weeks solid, I had a new, unexpected urinary urgency impacting my ability to go out at all. 12-15 times a day and a horrible depression associated. After urologist consultation and within 1 hour of application of the patch, immediate relief from all symptoms. No side effects or problems with the adhesive patch. Was able to stretch out to 5 days and off after 5 months."

"I have been using the patches for about eight months. I still feel like my bladder is full even after going to the toilet. I wake through the night about twice a night, but the funny thing is I can get through six hours of voluntary work before needing to go to the bathroom as soon as I get home, which at times I am ready to burst. I feel the patch is working fifty percent of the time for me. I am having trouble trying to get four days out of a patch, as they get very brittle and bubble up. I try not to let them get wet in the shower, but clothing lifts it too. I guess they need to work on the kind of plaster to use that stays put on the skin. Also, I do get black marks from the adhesive and lint from cloth, but I use eucalyptus oil and tissue to remove it, and then shower, wipe the area dry, and reapply the bandage. I give the product a fifty percent out of a hundred percent but wish the constant urge and fullness would ease. Also, dry mouth and sinus problems seem to be more frequent, but I guess it's better than nothing."

"I am very upset and disappointed in this product. It says the patch lasts for 4 days (well, it might if it stayed on). No matter where I put it, as soon as I took a shower, it became hard plastic and fell off. So every day I had to put a new patch on, so instead of 4 patches lasting me 16 days, I only got 4 patches for 4 days. I don't know about any other women there, but I take a shower every day, I am not going 4 days without a shower! Not happy at all! :("

"Has made very little difference during the day. I can only hold about 100 ml before the urgency starts, giving me about 30 seconds before I lose control. It has been better overnight, lasting up to 5 hours."

"In less than 48 hours, I developed extreme itching, redness, and blistering under the patch. I removed the patch, and there were large water blisters underneath. So, obviously, I discontinued using the patches. Out of $32.00."

"It helps, but unfortunately, all Walmarts in Reno, NV, are constantly out of stock. I went to a pharmacy thinking surely they must stock the product, but I had no luck. The pharmacist had no idea what this product was. I felt like the pharmacist thought I was asking for OxyContin. I wish they would change the name and stock the store better with this product. What a shame, now I will have to depend on a physician for a prescription. This product only helps for the first two days, not for four days as advertised."
