For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been taking this drug for about two years, and I have mixed feelings about it. I started it because I had 10-day-long periods with severe cramps lasting even longer than that. I started on the lowest dose and had constant spotting for a long time. Told the doc, and she moved me up a dose. This is where the mixed feelings come in... I have had perhaps two days total of bleeding (only when I forgot to take the pill) in the past two years, but I've also experienced significant weight gain, acne, and mood changes, and it's getting old. At this point, I'm considering switching to a different BC method. Unfortunately, I can't take anything with estrogen! (Migraine with aura)"

Norethindrone for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This medication made my life purely awful. I have PCOS and was placed on Jencycla for period regularity. Well, I was on it for two years. I lost almost all of my hair, was having horrible mood swings and depression, gained more weight, and became suicidal. My doctor kept telling me it was related to PCOS and kept putting me on more meds that I refused to take. So eventually, I decided to stop taking it, and honestly, I never felt better. In two months, I’ve lost twenty pounds, my hair is growing back quickly, and my mood swings have slowed tremendously. I do not recommend this med, but like with any other, it affects people differently."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "This drug did do its job of keeping us from getting pregnant again. However, it had very bad side effects for me. It caused numbness in my feet and hands, and it caused severe mood swings, specifically deep depression, irrational thoughts, and anger. As my GP explained it, since Micronor is progesterone-based, my body is as if PMSing all around the clock because it thinks I'm menstruating around the clock from the pill."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "I’m here to post the positive review you’re probably looking for. I’ve been on a few different pills (with estrogen), of course, and have dealt with migraine headaches, mood swings, extremely low sex drive, and depressive episodes. This birth control has eradicated all of these symptoms for me. I am so thankful my doctor prescribed this for me. Hopefully, it works for you too."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "I am taking Micronor for over a year now. My doctor prescribed it because I have bad migraines, which get worse with combination pills. I was super happy in the beginning because my migraines stopped completely, but over time the other side effects became worse and worse: my breasts are extremely swollen and painful, my husband cannot hug me, it really hurts, terrible cramps, spotting for 15 days nonstop, and mood swings. I had to stop, unfortunately. I'm not sure if Cerazette could be better, but it looks like it is about the same."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "25 yo married with no kids. I took Nora-Be for almost a year. Spotting and irregularity for the first 3 months, as expected. Periods became more consistent after that (and lighter), but I still had them every month (not a big deal to me). The thing I did have a problem with was the extreme mood swings and increased yeast infections. My doctor and my husband didn't believe me about the mood swings, but I knew I wasn't *really* that emotionally unstable! I kept going with it because I didn't stand up for myself until I went and spoke to two different pharmacists. They were the first ones to believe me about the mood swings, so I finally got the courage to stop Nora-Be. I am on a different POP (for almost a year now) and no more mood swings!"

Norethindrone for Birth Control "I started taking Nora-Be in January of 2018 for my periods (horrible cramps and heavy periods) and for birth control. Since I've been taking this, I haven't really noticed any bad side effects, except maybe my weight gain. In 16 months, I have gained 30 pounds. Other than that, I haven't had any bad mood swings, acne (other than what I normally have gotten my whole life). I can't take regular birth control with both hormones because there is a history of blood clots in my family. Overall, I like this medication, it's helped my bleeding and cramping so much."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have experienced very abnormal menses for the past 5 years. Finally, after growing tired of bleeding almost every day of those 5 years, I went to the OBGYN, and she put me on Zarah with directions to take all pills up to 3 weeks, then skip the next week. However, this did not stop the menses, so she put in a Mirena and gave me Norethindrone also. I am still bleeding, I have bled every day for over 8 1/2 weeks since seeing this doctor. I have experienced cramping, sweating, mood swings, fatigue, and heavy legs at night in bed. I hope they can do something soon because I am ready to take out my uterus! This insane constant bleeding is driving me nuts!"

Norethindrone for Birth Control "I have suffered from PMDD, which is basically extreme PMS with really bad mood swings. I would tend to be antisocial and irritable half the month. On Jolivette, my mood is much more stable, and I feel like myself instead of feeling out of control of my emotions. Shorter periods, very light. Other pills with estrogen affect my moods negatively. This works great."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "I have been on Tulana for a month now. My periods were pretty normal when I was not on any contraceptives for about 6 months. My first period (while taking Tulana) just “ended” last Friday. Well, the cramps were horrible, it was heavier than usual, I’ve been moody and emotional, and my boobs hurt!!!! Today is Thursday. I started spotting again on Tuesday morning. WHAT? I have taken BC pills before, but never have I experienced these kinds of side effects. I'm still cramping, bleeding, boobs hurt bad, and my sex drive is crazy outta control; I want to do it all the time. I may give it this next round of pills (one week through) and see what happens... I don’t know if I like this ONE! Being a woman sometimes is... ehhhhhhh"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been on almost every birth control other than Depo and the IUD since I was 15. Now 29. I got off BC around the age of 25. I started noticing that I was spotting between periods. Nothing major. Just very light pink. I never spotted between periods before. I also started having pain during sex. Went to the doc. One of the best gynos, she immediately said it was fibroids and maybe endo. She put me on 5 mg norethindrone. I take a half a pill every day. I had multiple large fibroids and a very large ovarian cyst. Had surgery in December to remove everything. Now I am great! Sex life is amazing, no emotional swings, no pain. Finally, on a birth control that agreed with me. Considering my doc said I have to be on it until I am ready to have kids to keep the fibroids away. I suggest to you ladies to maybe try a lower dose BC. It's been amazing for me. Hope my experience helped someone."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "I've had 8-9 periods over an 11-week span while on Errin. Horrible. Stop bleeding for a few days only to get it again. Terrible mood swings. Depression. I cannot wait to go back to my other birth control after this pack is finished next week."

Norethindrone for Endometriosis "I’ve been taking Errin birth control pill for about a month now. Overall, it’s been really good! I haven’t had the spotting everyone complains about, and I have not had any cramping either. I normally have really terrible periods, so I’m hoping this birth control can either stop them completely or lessen the pain. The first week or two, it gave me really bad headaches (not migraines, just headaches), but those went away after about week two. I haven’t noticed any weight gain either. I feel like the medicine maybe gives me slight mood swings, but I can recognize them pretty quickly. Unfortunately, I’m not seeing any improvement in my skin."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "I've been on this medication for almost 13 months. My OB/GYN thought this was a good fit for me, being that I'm a nursing mom. I am back down to my pre-pregnancy weight, no acne issues like others have experienced, and no mood changes as I did with the Depo shot. All in all, my experiences have been good and positive, but each person is different."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "I use birth control mainly because I have irregular periods. I switched from the NuvaRing (not sure if the bad mood swings, multiple yeast/UTI infections, and INSANELY low sex drive were because of the ring or because of a really bad relationship), and it's been great. I really dislike the 3-hour window (I forget pills). But I'm giving it a 9 because I haven't had ANY of the side effects that tend to come with other methods. I feel really great, and aside from light spotting, I can't really tell that I'm on the pill. If you don't mind using backup methods with sex, then it could be really awesome to use."

Norethindrone for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I began taking Errin for a month, and I've had the worst experience ever with this birth control method. I have gained 20 pounds since taking it. There was spotting between my periods. I had extreme mood swings that were crazy ups and downs. I experienced headache, anxiety, and increased blood pressure. I don't recommend this b.c. to any woman who is thinking of trying the progestin-only pill. Yes, it is the mini pill, but I had a horrible experience. I will just deal with my adenomyosis and heavy periods w/o birth control. Never again!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for 6 months and love it! For the first week, I had headaches for about 30 minutes and very minor nausea for only 3 days that went away with some Dramamine or a Tums. During the first month, I had some mood swings, but that's pretty normal. I only had spotting for two days, and it wasn't bad, there were only pink spots when I wiped. The only downside was that after 3 months, I had gained 15 pounds, which may seem alarming, but it was due to the bad cravings and because of my bad anxiety that made me lose my appetite before the pill. So after starting, it brought my appetite back, and I think it helped with my anxiety! My boobs and hips got bigger, which was nice! After talking to my gyno about my weight, I ate better food and worked out, and the weight fell off in 2 months! I seriously love this pill and have not experienced any negative side effects directly caused by it. If you're looking for a pill that doesn't give you a lot of bad side effects, I definitely recommend this one!"

Norethindrone for Birth Control "I am on the third month of this pill. No pregnancy, which is the point, and no mood swings or weight gain. BUT ... I am having my period for the third time this month. First month went well, period came on time, lasted a week. Second month, same thing, but this month has been just more than obnoxious. I had my period, then nothing for two days, then slight cramps and another light period for another four days, then nothing for about five days, and yet again cramps today, and next thing I know, I'm bleeding again. Hopefully, this resolves itself soon. Outside of that, it is as if I'm not taking anything."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "I had just about given up on ever thinking I could be on a hormonal form of contraception. I had tried two other forms of birth control in the past, the first being Yaz, which was the WORST thing ever. I swore off birth control for years, thinking my body just couldn't handle it. I recently went back to my OBGYN just to see if there were ANY other last resort options for pills. She recommended Lyza because it's low hormones, and I was hesitant at first but gave it a go. I have been on Lyza for almost a month now. I have had almost no spotting, no mood swings, no headaches, no troubles with blood clots/wheezing, nothing like my other experiences! Thank you, Lyza! You literally saved the day, and hopefully everything continues to be awesome!"

Norethindrone for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been on Ortho Micronor for two weeks now, it's been an absolute roller coaster. I've had strange sensations in my legs, severe depressive episodes, mood swings, heart palpitations, headaches, and am currently experiencing what seems to be another period exactly one week after having my last one. I think if this continues, I'm going back to the GP for a new prescription."

For Endometriosis "I've been on norethindrone for probably 2 years. I never have periods unless I go beyond 3 hours after my usual time slot for taking it. You should take it within 1-2 hours at the same time every night. What I can say is I love having no periods. However, I have little to no desire for sex. If you want to be celibate, take this pill and you won't care about sex, haha. So, I can't say I take it to prevent pregnancy. Symptoms I seem to have often: anxiety (though I've been on the pill 24 years, all different brands, always had anxiety). I also have TMJ, depression, and no interest in activities. I'm very lazy and a heavy smoker. Mood swings often. Quick temper. Wait? Maybe this is from the celibacy."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "I've been on this pill for almost 5 years. It has been okay, except I got pregnant while taking it as prescribed. Didn't miss a day. Didn't take it late-or did I? If I did, it was within a 15-minute window-it always is. Same time every day. I had a miscarriage, but my OB/GYN says it had nothing to do with the pill. I have horrible mood swings too. My husband can predict my start date based on how insanely moody, aggressive, and angry I am. It is always 5 days before I start that I am most insane. Always! The mood swings are so bad I'm considering getting off the pill altogether. Everyone's different. That's my experience."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "I have been on Camila since I had my baby in July 2015. I breastfeed, so this pill was the best for me at the time. I just had a consultation with my primary doctor due to a very big increase in my weight, before starting this pill, I had lost all my baby weight. I am now 25 pounds heavier, the heaviest I've been all my life. I have had headaches, hair loss, mood swings, low sex drive, and irregular bleeding. After reading all these reviews, it has become very clear to me I need to stop this pill immediately."

For Endometriosis "I was prescribed Norlutate in December 2019 for stage 4 colorectal endometriosis. For the first couple of weeks, I experienced depression, crying, emotional instability, painful periods, and difficulty sleeping. My partner was able to convince me to give the medication time to work. I am very happy to say that by giving it time, the depression has subsided, I don't cry without reason, I am still moody but can feel it coming before I react to a situation unreasonably. I started meditating and stretching before bed, which helps me be in a better state for sleeping. As for my diagnosis, it's working - I no longer have bleeding rectally during menstruation, and the constipation is gone. I am no longer in constant pain - but manageable pain. It kind of sucks having a bit of acne at age 31, and a small amount of weight gain, but it's a small price to pay in order to have the quality of life back you desire."
