Norethindrone for Birth Control "Really happy with this pill. I had been on Cerazette, which caused 3 months of continual spotting. As soon as I switched to Micronor, it stopped, and now I only get 2 days of light bleeding a month, with no adverse side effects. :)"

Norethindrone for Birth Control "My first period on it was heavier than normal. After that, I was spotting for several days, which I have never experienced. This past month, I have either been bleeding or spotting, and it's incredibly frustrating! Lots of random cramps as well. My mood has been up and down, which is also frustrating."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "Been on this for 3 months now. Only taking this pill because I am currently breastfeeding and have no other options, really. I've had probably 6-8 periods since I've started this birth control. I'll bleed for 6-9 days, stop for less than a week, and start the process all over again. The bleeding is heavy. I've gained some weight. The acne is terrible and extremely painful. I've developed constant cramping and occasional heart palpitations. Oh, and the hair loss. My god. I have to empty my brush 2-3 times when I brush my hair, and clumps come out in the shower. The worst side effect I have encountered on this pill is the moodiness. I get so angry for absolutely no reason and catch myself freaking out over the littlest things. The side effects of this pill are terrifying. I've been on numerous different pills as well as the depo over the last 11 years, and this is by far the absolute worst. I would never recommend."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "I started not to leave a review, but then I thought to myself this may help someone. As for me, I'm taking myself off of Heather. I started Heather 3 weeks after having my son, prescribed by my doctor. I started bleeding out of nowhere and already experienced childbirth bleeding. At 3 weeks postpartum, I saw my first period. I started birth control the following week and saw my cycle after the 4th pill. That was twice in 1 month. That did it for me. I was down 30 lbs before starting birth control. Since I've started, my weight is the same, it has not changed, and I work out. Good luck!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I, at the age of 47, started having heavy bleeding for two days of my five-day cycle. I took this medication for two days, and I am now on my seventh day of bleeding, which I'm bleeding longer and waking up sweating. I am going to stop taking it."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "Just started my 2nd month. The 1st week and a half, I had light bleeding every day. Then, the next week, my nipples were so sore. Now, this past week, I've had on-and-off light bleeding and cramps during the last week of pills. I have no side effects emotionally, which is great, because everything else makes me go crazy. But, I have noticed a little weight gain and craving food all the time, and I jog 3 to 4 times a week. I am 24, no pregnancies ever. I'm not sure about this pill yet. I'll give it another month and see how it goes. I don't even want to be on birth control, but my cramping and periods are so terrible without it."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "I was on a hormonal birth control pill for many years. I could set a clock by my periods... start on a Tuesday, off by Saturday. It was great. I turned 35, and my doc would no longer prescribe the hormonal pill. So, enter Jolivette. The first two weeks, my nipples were so sore, and I was so bloated that I thought I might be pregnant. Then, my period started 1 week early and lasted for 9 days! A very heavy 9 days as well. 1 week later, heavy bleeding again. I don't think Jolivette and I are going to be friends."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "Great for the first year, then irregularity started. I took it after my son's birth. It started with some mid-period spotting, then light bleeding. Now it's a heavy period every two weeks. I just stopped and will be switching at the start of my next period."

Norethindrone for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was on Errin for two months. I'm in perimenopause, and it was recommended to control some abnormal bleeding. The first month was okay, but I basically bled all of month two, either spotting or very, very heavy. Stopped it a few days ago and still bleeding. I went to the doctor and had an exam - no other physical cause for the heavy bleeding. He agreed I should stop taking it, although he wanted me to try originally for three or four months. I don't see how - this was the worst bleeding ever. I'll take perimenopausal irregularity over this."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "Only started taking this because of stroke risk being over 40. Took Lo Lo Estrin Fe for years and loved it. Been on this over a year and honestly should have stopped long ago. My periods are now coming 2-3 times a month, and they last 3-10 days. May just have to get my tubes tied because I am so tired of constant bleeding on this pill, and my doc advises that I shouldn't go back to pills containing estrogen. Giving it a 4/10 because I never got pregnant but hated always being on my period."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "I love this pill. I've tried several and always ended up with decreased sex drive, depression, and anxiety. None with this. After 2 months of taking this at the exact same time every day, my periods went away and stayed gone for years. Who the heck wants a period? Yay! The only reason I have to stop is because I'm having trouble fighting an infection in my mouth, and my dentist said progesterone can make that more difficult. It's very important to take this one at the same time every day - set an alarm and keep your pills in your purse so they're always handy. Taking these at random times will cause random bleeding or periods."

Norethindrone for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started taking this 6 weeks after my daughter was born. I’ve been taking it for 3 months now and am officially stopping this pill. It has made me bleed so irregularly and heavily that it’s unmanageable. It feels like I’m bleeding more so than when I am not. I’m not sure if I am experiencing other symptoms, but I definitely look like I am more bloated, so maybe that’s something I’ve experienced as well and haven’t correlated the two. My primary reason for stopping is the excessive bleeding."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was prescribed this pill after I spoke to my gyno about having irregular bleeding. I told her my periods have been lasting for over a week, on and off. So, the first week on it, I wasn’t bleeding, but after the first week, I had NONSTOP HEAVY PERIOD, back-to-back blood clots, some bigger than a quarter. I’m on my second pack, and I’m still bleeding heavily with clots and all, no change. I'm starting to feel weak due to all the nonstop bleeding. I'm just going to completely stop this stuff. I'm done spending money on tampons and pads, due to the fact that I gotta wear BOTH because it’s THAT heavy."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Horrible medication. Stopped after 2 weeks. Continuous bleeding. Nausea. Cramps. Fatigue. Bloating. Maybe if I tried to stick it out longer, the side effects would go away, but I just couldn’t do it. I have never felt so awful."

Norethindrone for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been using these pills for 3 months now. I've had very heavy bleeding for so long that I welcomed a change. The first two months were awesome. My cycle was very light and lasted the normal five days. No cramping, very little bloating. This third month, my cycle came like clockwork, lasted five days, then two weeks later returned. My breasts have been very tender, and although very small, they feel heavy. I'm not giving up yet."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Norethindrone... OMG! I want to scream. I was given this birth control to control heavy bleeding and painful cramps due to endometriosis. This pill has caused acne, prolonged bleeding, and cramps. My cycle now lasts 15 plus days, and with the bleeding, I have cramps. Now I have low hemoglobin levels and anemia because of the loss of blood. I'm 37 and don't want kids, so now I'm looking for permanent birth control. I wanted to try the IUD, but my sister had it for 5 years, and when they took it out, it broke, and she had to have surgery. Now she's having issues with her cervix and bleeding. Smh, what are we to do!"

Norethindrone for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I decided to come back and review this drug as I was on the fence as there were a lot of negative reviews. I have uterine fibroids near the end of 2018, at 40. I had a heavy period that lasted 2 months. I was put on DEPO, and my period stopped that night and for a few months; then I had more breakthrough bleeding. At the 1-year mark, my arm that I used to get the shot in started hurting. I could barely lift it and couldn't sleep on it. I didn't go back; instead, I switched to regular birth control that used to always work (Daysee). The bleeding stopped again until I had a gallbladder attack for the first time. Turns out I had gallstones. After about a year on that, I started having breakthrough bleeding again. I read that the estrogen in the birth control is responsible (among other things), so I switched to this. Almost immediately, the pain has left my gallbladder, and I feel normal again. Two weeks have passed; the breakthrough bleeding has passed. You have to take this at a precise time each day."

For Endometriosis "I have been on this medication for almost a month to alleviate my endometriosis. I have tried Lupron Depot, Orilissa, and had laparoscopies to try to help, but this medication has messed me up the worst out of any of the previous ones. Half of my body went numb and so did my hands one night, along with a headache-symptoms of a stroke. I have also had my period twice in a month with huge clots and have to change a nighttime pad every hour. Also, my cramps are worse, feels like I am miscarrying. Not to mention hair loss, depression, and aggressiveness."

Norethindrone for Birth Control "After having awful hemiplegic migraines with aura (which mimics a stroke and is really scary) on the combined pill, my OB prescribed this instead. I have not had one of these debilitating migraines since. I do notice some hair loss, but it's not noticeable to anyone else but me. I rarely get breakthrough bleeding (but I never had heavy periods to begin with, just really painful). The tradeoff is so worth it. This pill has made my life so much better."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been taking norethindrone for 6 months now, and things appear to be getting worse. Each month, the number of days I bleed goes up. This month isn't even over, and I've bled 13 days nonstop, 3 days not bleeding, and another week of bleeding. I've been told most side effects go away after about 3-5 months, so I plan on seeing how the next three months go. It's very annoying and painful to be bleeding what certainly feels like all the time."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Started on the smaller dose of Errin last year after the regular pill made me really sick (high blood pressure, blood pounding in ears, extreme bleeding, etc.). Took it for 9 months, did virtually nothing. Period every 24 days, typically lasting 2-3 weeks. Stopped in December and saw some improvement, but then in March, the heavy bleeding and clots started again, so took the 5 mg dosage per GY's advice (I did not want an IUD, ablation, or any other surgery). 2 months into this and this last week has been the worst of my life - saying a lot considering period nightmare IS my life!!! The pain, clots, and nonstop bleeding of this last week have just convinced me to let Mother Nature take the wheel - I'm so exhausted and over this. Praying for menopause. To anyone considering a hysterectomy for fibroids/abnormal bleeding, etc., please do it while you're young and don't suffer for years the way I have."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Dr. prescribed this to me on June 29, 2016. I had started my period a day or 2 before my appointment. I was experiencing very painful cramps, heavy bleeding, and some passing of clots while menstruating. After taking this medication, my period is still on or I'm still bleeding. A much more heavy flow with huge clots being passed now. This made my symptoms worse than before, and I have been bleeding since June 29th, today is July 12th. Go back to the Dr. today, a Lupron Depot shot, and I may stop this therapy altogether and continue to deal with my previous symptoms. Not worth it. I'm 42 yrs old, have 2 adult kids ages 25, 27, and had a tubal around 2007."

Norethindrone for Endometriosis "I have chronic endometriosis and adenomyosis. I was prescribed the mini pill and was given a 3-month supply of Heather birth control pill by my pharmacy. I continue to have extreme cramping even when not on my cycle. I have been bleeding for, so far as we speak, 12 days and counting. I'm 47, will be 48 in April and used to have clear skin, and now I have itchy, weird, puffy skin, especially on my cheeks near my eyes. Getting a lot of itchy hives on my face in random spots, especially around my upper cheekbones near and around my eyes. Really tired all the time, emotionless, and I've also noticed constipation. This pill is supposed to have regulated my period and help with the pain. I'm at the end of my second pack and am stopping the pill immediately! Not taking it anymore... Everyone is different, and that is my experience. Hope it helps. TAKE AT YOUR OWN RISK."
