Nabumetone for Rheumatoid Arthritis "Like Celebrex and Vioxx, this caused blood pressure spurts, along with dizziness, weakness, and other side effects. Too dangerous for me to take because of how high it would send my blood pressure within an hour or so of taking it."

Nabumetone for Back Pain "Relafen was prescribed by my spine doctor for cervical/upper back cramping and upper extremity radiculopathy. It did not relieve my pain at all. Just started Skelaxin (2 doses in), and the pain is so much better."

For Back Pain "Degenerated disc in neck was replaced with a pig bone substitute about 15 years ago. Waited too long to have surgery, so I have some spinal cord nerve damage which periodically gives me a sharp pain (count of 10-11 range on a 1-10 scale) over my left eye. Severe enough to make me stop whatever I'm doing, including get off the highway if I'm driving. Take one pill, and 10-15 minutes later it's gone! I usually take a second pill 10-12 hours later. I sometimes take one if I've abused my neck more than normal also. No side effects, and it works every time!"

Nabumetone for Frozen Shoulder "I'm probably the only one I know taking this for inflammation from a frozen shoulder, as I have had serious side effects from steroid shots, so it's a viable alternative. It's not bad, it is working slowly, but I definitely have to take it with food. I'm taking 750 twice a day but started breaking them in half, which is not easy. But overall, not a bad drug, for what it is intended for, I've heard great things, not just from this site."

For Osteoarthritis "I have scoliosis/fused back/sciatica. This medication works wonders for me. It makes the difference between functioning and not. Without the medication, I can barely walk, and with the medication, I can go to work and live my daily life. I’m not pain-free, but it makes it bearable, especially since it has a long half-life, symptoms are controlled. This medication doesn’t work for everyone. If you don’t get relief within a week or so, I’d move on to another medication."

For Osteoarthritis "I am a 53-year-old male, who worked in the timber industry for 35 years now. I had 6 knee surgeries for a single injury in 1986. On 7/16/2012, I had my right knee replaced with a Stryker Triathlon knee replacement. I am working on getting my strength back. I was put on Diclofenac at 75 mg 2 times a day, which sent me to the restroom 20 times a day. My surgeon changed me to Nabumetone along with pain medication almost like Lyrica (insurance would not pay for Lyrica). Since I have regained strength and am progressing faster than if I was on an OTC pain medicine. 6 weeks post-op and walking pretty well and mostly pain-free."

Nabumetone for Muscle Pain "I was given this medication after I injured both feet in sparring in my Thai boxing class. After two weeks of slow healing, a second doctor gave me this, and it sped up healing. Upon returning to class and new injuries, it works well."

Nabumetone for Back Pain "When I saw the overall rating of 7.1, I thought, out of 100? I don't know what type of pain is being experienced by the people who have had success with Relafen. But it is apparently not like mine. I have noticed no relief whatsoever! I'm taking 500 mg bid. Why not just take 800 mg of ibuprofen?"

For Muscle Pain "I injured my shoulder, neck, back, and arm. It has worked to rid me of the pain in the shoulder, neck, and back. Not the arm. The arm injury is the ligament, as opposed to the muscle. I am taking 750 mg twice a day. Take this drug with food, or you will be miserable for an hour or two. (Nausea) Before I continue, I am no medical professional and only state my own opinion based on my experience. My opinion is that it is good for use as an anti-inflammatory. Not for pain relief. My muscle pain is partially caused by inflammation, so it works well. My torn ligament in the arm is not due to inflammation, so this drug does nothing."

For Back Pain "Actually seemed to make my spasmed muscle in the shoulder blade area worse. It got better almost immediately after I stopped. I know this makes no sense. Tried it again after a couple of weeks with a flare-up, and it immediately got worse again. I don't understand why, but definitely didn't work for me, plus, during the second use, I developed a rash. Not for me, too bad."

For Muscle Pain "My hypermobility disorder (Ehlers-Danlos Hypermobility Disorder) causes my joints to be constantly inflamed, as well as my back, and other painkillers/anti-inflammatory drugs have never helped. My nabumetone has helped a lot with the pain in my knees and back especially, as well as my chronic migraines. I just want to note that this stuff takes a while to really kick in if you use it for chronic pains, so keep taking it regularly for at least a month before judging it."

For Back Pain "Worthless! May as well take a dose of sugar. Took low dose Lortab for years off and on for back pain, but the political pressure on doctors is too much for them to bear. The CDC tells them what to prescribe now. Criminals!!!"

For Back Pain "I've been on this medication for about a week now, and I don't see a difference as yet. Although this medication does upset my stomach, bloats me, and gives me gas very badly, which I hate. I'm trying to give it some time before I complain to my specialist about it because it's starting to be irritating."

For Back Pain "I was just diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. Normally, I have neck, back, hands, and foot pain. Some swelling in my fingers. Also have had blurred vision and a cough due to the inflammation. Was prescribed Nabumetone 750 mg. The first time I took it, I was very drowsy and felt sort of rubbery, as opposed to the stiffness I normally feel. On my second day, my pain is less in my back, neck, and hands, still there but less. Not drowsy. My cough and eyes are better. After only taking it for two days, I can see improvement."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "This drug has been a game changer for me. I was on Plaquenil and 2400 mg of ibuprofen a day for ten years. Destroyed my stomach. Threw it all in the garbage. One month on this, I feel like a new person again. A human. I sleep. Pain went from 10 to 2. I'm just more relaxed and comfortable. I actually feel human again. Do take with food, else it might affect your stomach. Takes a few weeks to accumulate in your system."

Nabumetone for Osteoarthritis "Doctor gave me samples to see if this drug would relieve some of my knee pain caused by osteoarthritis. I took 1-2 1000 mg tablets a day for a week. No relief whatsoever. I’m happy for the people who did get relief, but for me, this drug did nothing."

For Back Pain "I took the first dose of nabumetone last night for back pain, and I didn’t notice anything different. I still had pain and stiffness. I got some Aleve for back pain instead and find that it works better. I will just use over the counter that actually did something."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "My doctor prescribed Nabumetone for my TMJ. But I do have arthritis in my hands, knees, and feet. They just hurt all the time, especially since I've been moving to another house. I hadn't been taking my Nabumetone, so I thought about trying it again. Twice a day, 500 mg. After about a week, it started working, and I didn't hurt when I got up in the mornings. But now I'm in the bathroom constantly with stomach pain and lots of bowel movements that have turned into diarrhea. It works great, but I'm gonna have to lay off of it for a while."

"I use Nabumetone 500 mg along with Imitrex 100 mg for my migraine headaches. For a moderate headache, this combination really seems to work. I’m still trying to find something that will work on the severe headaches though."

For Osteoarthritis "I had a really bad flare-up in my right knee that lasted about three months. At first, I tried meloxicam, and that did nothing, so up next was nabumetone. After the first week, I didn’t really notice a change in the swelling, but I continued my twice-a-day dosage for another week, and that’s when it started to work. It worked so well my knee eventually became numb, and I couldn’t necessarily feel my knee. The swelling reduced, and I was finally able to walk again. However, I did not like the way it made my knee feel because I darn near couldn’t feel it, so I weaned off of it slowly."

For Back Pain "I have tried this drug once, it did help out my back pain greatly, but it has me the worst nausea ever. After about an hour of relaxation, all went to hell, and I thought I was going to throw up right there and then. I didn't, thankfully, but I had those feelings off and on for another 2 hours, and after that, the drug had worn off. I don't think the hour of relaxation was worth the horrible nausea."

Nabumetone for Osteoarthritis "I was in a car accident back in 2019, where I received a compression fracture of the spine, lower lumbar area. Along with one herniated disc on the left lower side of the spine. Also, an additional herniated disc on the right lower side of the spine, which was more of a serious herniation than the left one. After my car insurance coverage ran out for my chiropractic visits, I started to see a pain management doctor who gave me samples of Relafen DS (1,000 mg). It actually worked very well with the inflammation, stiffness, and swelling around my lower back. Highly recommend asking your doctor about taking this medication for your back pain."

For Osteoarthritis "I was prescribed to help treat arthritis in my right big toe. This was after having mild dizziness side effects from Voltaren (Diclofenac). Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. It did nothing, whereas at least the Voltaren (Diclofenac) relieved the swelling in the joint and allowed me to actually walk without my foot hurting."

For Muscle Pain "Since my radiation treatments, I have developed bad muscle aches and attacks, making me feel as if my body was leaving me. Nabumetone has done a good job of reducing the pain and attacks, but I am careful to take it with food and 40 mg of Omeprazole."

For Osteoarthritis "I have suffered from osteoarthritis for roughly 8 years now and am 35 years old. My condition affects me throughout both legs, feet, mid-back going down to the base, right shoulder, parts of my collarbone, left forearm, right wrist, and parts of both hands and fingers, as well as my left thumb. My GP has tried a number of different medicines, which include diclofenac, ketoprofen, naproxen, and one other. None of which ever helped and I had a bad reaction to the naproxen, which caused really high blood pressure and pins and needles in both legs (sitting down or standing up). I was taken off that after being on it for 11 months, and as of Monday gone (today being Thursday), I've been put on nabumetone 500 mg slow. I'm sleeping like a baby and in less pain."
