For Chronic Pain "I have been taking Vicodin for near 20 years now due to chronic pain in my lower back and chronic pain and burning in my shoulders from factory work. I have been on six 7.5 Vicoprofen for a few years now. That amount works fine if I just sit around all day. If I want to take long hikes, lift or move furniture, or do extensive house cleaning, then six is not enough, and I was using seven or eight a day. The doctor wanted me to try Morphine ER 15 mg, two a day, and try to get down to three vs. a day. A month into this trial period, and I'm not liking the Morphine ER (and I've tried 300 mg Tramadol and Butrans patches). The morphine just leaves me feeling sleepy, it just takes the edge off, and like so many other medicines, I have flu-like symptoms. If I had 10 mg pills, that would work."

For Pain "This medicine claims to be 24-hour extended release, but it is not. It releases the total dose within an hour. This is not an effective generic equivalent to Avinza 24-hour ER or Kadian 12 SR or Kadian 24-hour ER. The pain control is not effective or consistent. The side effects are severe and dangerous. I had a severe headache daily, liver enzymes elevated, no appetite, severe nausea, caused chest pain and shortness of breath."

For Pain "I have had excruciating pain for 4 years. I used from fentanyl patch to morphine sulfate CR. The change is dramatic, no third-day withdrawals. Have 24-hour coverage, not for 48 hours. Living in the South, the auto's temp rises to 140 in the car, and the patch is not meant for dramatic temperature changes."

For Chronic Pain "I have CRPS and have tried a variety of treatments, i.e. ganglion nerve blocks, TENS, Oxy, etc. and found that the Morphine ER works best for pain along with gabapentin. I also found that Lidocaine Infusions 2% along with saline infused simultaneously works extremely well. Administered about 30 days apart. I have been having the infusions for about 2 years until my Medicare Advantage plan reduced reimbursement to the provider, and the Pain Management provider dropped the procedure."

For Chronic Pain "I have been in acute chronic pain for the last 26 yrs. I was at a dosage that actually gave me pain relief. Morphine Sulfate ER 30 mg gives me about 2 1/2 hrs of relief from my pain. I take it 3x per day. If you can get your Dr. to prescribe a different medication for pain, I definitely would."

For Chronic Pain "I started at two 15 mg, then three 15 mg, and now four 15 mg along with two 10 mg oxy for breakthrough pain. Each time, it has done an adequate job until tolerance sets in. It is 5/2022, and I started on 12/2021. I am waiting for it to reach the blood plasma max, which is 1-2 days. I hope to get 3-4 months at this level. Last month, it got rough right before my appointment. I am at a new doctor because my old one left to start her own practice. He’s good so far."

For Chronic Pain "My breathing got very bad. I wasn't told about the side effects. I read about it on this site, and I asked my GP why I wasn't told about the side effects, and he wouldn't tell me, so I may need to talk to my lawyer."

For Chronic Pain "Yesterday was the first time using this medicine, and it works great. I also take Lortab. I did not take any, only the Morphine Sulfate ER, and it kept all my pain away for 12 hours. Love it."

For Pain "They say this form of morphine is resistant to being abused, which basically just means that it makes you feel like complete garbage. Worst headache of my life. If it is not broke, don’t fix."
