For Allergic Rhinitis "I started taking Singulair generic brand about a week ago when my allergies got really bad to the point of not being able to function. I was constantly sneezing, running nose, congested at the same time, and watering eyes. I am on once-a-week allergy shots for the past 25 years, run the air filter, and keep a clean house with hardwood floors. I have been taking half a pill of Xyzal for the past couple of years. Now, I took the Singulair with the Xyzal and started having nightmares almost every night. Before, I used to dream often, occasionally had nightmares, but not that often. Now, I have nightmares every night instead of random dreams that I can remember even when I wake up. My allergies are still bad but tolerable."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Well, 3 or 4 months ago, I started taking this drug for my allergies, which were pretty bad for I work in a steel mill and moved to a new part of the country that I wasn't used to, the pollen in the air. Well, this drug cleared my allergies, it was so nice. But then, my memory recall started getting bad, and I had a hard time finding words, and it kept getting worse and worse. I started having really weird nightmares and just found out that it was this drug that was causing it. I'm 48, and I truly thought I was going to have to quit working and collect disability, that's how bad my memory recall was getting. It really scared the bejesus out of me."

Montelukast for Asthma, Maintenance "I only took Singulair for a couple of days because of the terrible side effects. Nightmares, sadness, aggression, feelings of emptiness, heart palpitations, etc. Singulair is poisonous garbage."

For Asthma, Maintenance "I've taken both Singulair and Montelukast. The first time I took Singulair, several years ago, I had nightmares filled with horror. I quit taking it. I now take Montelukast and still have unusual and eerie dreams, but they are not full of the horror of those from several years ago. I also find it difficult to sleep more than a few hours at a time, partially because of the dreams, which wake me. However, it controls the night coughing better than any other drug I've used, from prednisone to Advair. I will continue to take it unless the side effects worsen."
