For Light Anesthesia "I was given this for my first colonoscopy. The procedure was successful, relaxed during the procedure. It was after the procedure that I became sick to my stomach and was not able to keep anything down for 5 days. Three months later, at my annual physical, when they went through my blood work with me, my physician asked me if I was drinking again (I am a recovering alcoholic), as my liver functions were askew! After backtracking, we suspected it was the Versed. I’ve had three more procedures since, and it’s in my file that I get severe GI problems from Versed. No more problems since."

For Light Sedation "Had midazolam and fentanyl anesthesia for blepharoplasty. Did not stop pain at all. I felt everything. I kept commenting on how much it hurt. Vomited 3 times (bile) getting off the table, going from wheelchair to car, and when I got home. So dizzy I could not walk without holding on to the wall. The intense nausea let up after 8 hrs and the pain with it. Mild positional dizziness continued. 5 weeks later, out of the blue, the anesthesia hit me again with full force. Nausea & dizziness - couldn't walk. Took meclizine, slept 11 hrs, and now it's gone. Hope that doesn't happen again!"

For Light Anesthesia "I received an injection through an IV drip port, and I did and do not remember anything other than waking up. I was extremely off-balance and had to move very slowly, or maybe that was the effect of the drug on my central nervous system. My entire body felt heavy and difficult to move. I did have an appetite but did not remember I had bought food to eat the day before my surgery. I tried to have Pizza Hut deliver a pizza, but the person taking the order was incompetent, so I hung up. I called Chopstix, a great Thai food restaurant, and ordered Pho soup with chicken. I took pain medication, Tylenol-codeine and amoxicillin, with the soup. I became dizzy, sick to my stomach, nauseated, and began sweating profusely. I stopped eating and waited for all symptoms to subside. I hope I never have to take midazolam/versed again."

Midazolam for Light Anesthesia "Told the anesthesiologist not to give me Versed because it made me nauseous. I had been meditating and was very relaxed on the operating table awaiting my hip replacement. Suddenly, I became afraid, paranoid, and the last I remembered was trying to get off the table. I had prolonged amnesia, nausea, hiccups for 24 hours, and I cried and was anxious for a week afterwards. My records show I was given Versed despite telling them not to."
