Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "I tried the 5-night vaginal gel and experienced no other symptoms besides extreme itching in and around the vagina, all 5 days and nights. I stuck with it and the infection went away. I did have the cottage cheese-looking discharge all 5 days, but it was only when I urinated, it wasn’t in my underwear."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "It has been a little over a year now that I've been experiencing BV continuously. The next day after intercourse, I get really irritated! Followed by 2 days, I get discharge and itchy. Sometimes I will have like onion smell or fishy smell. I went to the doctor, and she prescribed the gel. It works great. I did see clumps of white stuff coming out. But when we have intercourse again, I get it back again! We are trying to get pregnant, and I don't know if this is rejecting our pregnancy. I told my doctor, she said there really is nothing I can do, just tell my husband not to ejaculate inside me. There have been times when I asked him not to ejaculate, and it is true. I will not have any type of BV or irritation. It's only when we have intercourse and he ejaculates inside me that I get my pH balance irregular. My husband doesn't want to ejaculate outside. It's like I'm always on the gel, and she has me on it for 7 days. I take probiotics to help, but it doesn't seem to work because I still get BV after intercourse."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "I used MetroGel for 5 nights. It worked great. The itching and burning were relieved the very first night I took it. I did have to do a sixth dose two nights after the fifth night because the symptoms came back slightly, but since then, I have been fine. That was a week ago, and since then, no problems at all. The only home remedies I had tried were probiotics, folic acid, vitamin D, and vitamin C. I also ate a lot of plain yogurt. I think the vitamins and yogurt worked to give temporary relief, but ultimately it was the MetroGel that did the trick. Crossing my fingers I don't have a relapse. I decided to use the gel and not the pills so the drugs don't have to go through your whole body. The gel just attacks the problem at the source."

Metronidazole topical for Rosacea "I never had a pimple in my life, I could literally put any cream on my face. I'd be fine. I didn't need much makeup either, my face was super clear and glowing until 2 years ago when, for no reason, I developed a strange rash. Burning and itching was terrible. I thought it might be some allergic reaction to cosmetics, and after hundreds of dollars spent on different creams, I finally went to a doctor, and he diagnosed me with rosacea. He prescribed the cream, not the gel. At first, I was skeptical because I didn't know how I would manage not to use a daily moisturizer, but then this cream works as a moisturizer too, I literally didn't need anything else. Two weeks after, my face cleared up. Yes, the cream is expensive, but you only need a tiny amount, so it can literally last for months, it was so worth it. I'm still on it. I'm due to stop using it in a month, so I'll see how I go without it-fingers crossed. At least I know now how it works. This cream was a savior, I strongly recommend it!"

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "I had bacterial vaginitis. It was very unpleasant, as one would expect. My Dr. prescribed MetroGel and Diflucan. Did the gel for three nights. About two weeks later, itch occurred, so I took the Diflucan. I've had bacterial vaginitis twice and, subsequently, a yeast infection. MetroGel-Diflucan combo worked great for me. Gave an 8/10 because I got a yeast infection after the bacterial vaginitis treatment, but Diflucan cleared it up."

For Rosacea "Wow, I’m in the tropical heat, and my rosacea was out of full-blown redness, itchy, and small bumps. I got so desperate that I called my doctor. He prescribed me metronidazole gel. When I got it, I read the instructions - wash my face, then place the gel on my face, and it cooled me immediately, immediately. Been on it now for two days, and the difference is incredible. I will never use any other products besides this gel. It shocked me, the gel really works. In the past, I was given the cream formula, and it didn’t do for me what this gel formula has. If you are itchy, red, and have little pus bumps, believe me, it really works."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "My doctor took several vaginal samples and tested for yeast, all STDs, and bacteria. The only thing that was positive was G. Gardnerella, which is bacteria. She gave me Flagyl 500 mg daily for 7 days and told me to use MetroGel 2x a week for 4-6 months. Still not better and just finished 5 weeks of the gel, which is 10 doses. I have zero odor, never had any, but my discharge is like acid. My skin around the vaginal opening is extremely red, and it burns, and sometimes I itch. I'm majorly frustrated. I have used Desitin and Vaseline to try and keep the discharge from burning me so bad (doc's suggestion), but those tend to make me worse! I'm truly so depressed, I just don't feel like this is ever going to go away. No sex for 5 months now."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "I was due for a Pap smear, and after a couple of weeks, my physician's office called me advising I had an overgrowth of bacteria in my vagina. I couldn't understand that as I never complained of any itching, odor, or smell, I just went in for a Pap smear. After 5 days of administering this gel, I developed severe pain when I urinate. I called my physician, and I was told to drink cranberry juice and take the cranberry supplement by AZO, this didn't work. Now I'm taking an antibiotic, Ciprofloxacin HCl 500 mg for 10 days, twice a day, which caused intense itching. Thursday is the last day for pills, and then I take the 1-day pill Fluconazole tablet 150 mg. What a horrific experience with the gel, it burns my clitoris."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "After being treated for yeast for 8 months with little success, my doctor put me on MetroGel as kind of a last resort to soothe my itching, burning, abnormal discharge, tingling, even though my cultures keep coming back negative for everything. I've taken MetroGel before when I actually had a positive culture for BV and had no complaints. This time around, I'm on my second night and feel awful. Itching is still there, I have body aches, chills, feel nauseous. I'm going to continue using this medicine for the next 3 nights, and I'll check back in to finish the review. I also have a gross discharge, but I assume this is the gel coming out."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "For the last 6 months, I've been fighting BV that would not go away. I've been on 2 lots of antibiotics in pill form, metronidazole, that were disgusting to take and swallow, and that didn't do anything. I felt horrible when being on these, they seemed to make my symptoms worse. I had tests done and would always come back positive for BV. Finally, I went to a Gyno that listened, he prescribed me Metrogel instead of pill form, and I would always ask them for a Diflucan pill to take at the end of the course to stop a yeast infection, which it did. So, I've been on the Metrogel now for 4 days, which I was told to use twice a day for 5 days, and my symptoms of burning and itching went away on the second day. I've also had no bad side effects. By using this gel, you do get a white clumpy discharge, but that should go away when the course is finished. This is the best I've felt in 6 months and would definitely use again if needed."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "This drug seems to work for me and get rid of the symptoms of BV, the smell and the itch, however, the BV itself seems to come back, so I think it clears the symptom but doesn't cure the problem in my body."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "Used a 5-day gel treatment for mild BV. Caused very mild cramping and moderate itching after the first dose. A day after completing treatment, I developed a bad yeast infection and extreme itching. Did help the BV, but I’m not sure which infection I’d rather have, to be honest. Some reviews say that the white clumpy discharge is just the gel coming out, which I think I also have, accompanied by yeast infection discharge."

Metronidazole topical for Rosacea "This cream made my rosacea 100% worse. It actually caused my face to burn, itch, and was very painful. I had to apply cold compresses to my face to relieve the pain. My dermatologist told me to stop using it and prescribed Triamcinolone ointment. This ointment took away the pain and some of the itching, and caused the red and purple bumps to flatten out. I'm still in the middle of a terrible flare-up. I am also taking Doxycycline 100 mg once daily. I think I am allergic to this cream."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "Tried this gel for 1 night thinking it would have fewer side effects than in pill form. But I had a very bad experience. Within half an hour of using, my legs felt as if they were on fire, mainly from my knees to feet. Got worse with aching, shooting pains up and down my legs. My head felt funny, but no headache. All night I barely slept because of the severity of the pain. The hotness did lessen, still had painful legs until mid-morning, but it had spread to the rest of my body - a dull ache as if I had the flu. Had a slight blocked nose till morning as well. Felt slightly nauseous. Was itchy too, all over. Felt spaced out. Suffered memory loss in the day before all went away. Will not take again as I am allergic to antibiotics, so it is probably just me. BV did feel a bit better though."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "I’ve been dealing with BV and yeast my entire pregnancy. Not to be gross, but it’s been so bad my discharge has been green. My doc recommended Nuvessa, and I took it last week. The green is gone, but now I’m itchy. I’ll see next week if the BV is gone or not. I pray it has, this has been nothing short of a nightmare."

For Rosacea "Day 1 of rosacea flare-up - thought I was having an allergic reaction to seafood. My face turned red and swollen, my chest was covered in a rash. I took Benadryl that did nothing other than make me sleep. Day 2 - symptoms got worse with my skin hurting but realized it was rosacea. I had a tube of metronidazole cream that I put on immediately, relieving the pain. Day 3 - skin looks much better today. Started on minocycline 50 mg. qid. Couldn't sleep because of itching. Day 4 - less redness and swelling. No itching. Day 5 and on - cheeks still red but otherwise look normal. Rash is gone. After stopping the metronidazole, skin texture gradually returned to normal. I'm still on the antibiotic."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I’ve had BV now for 4 months. It keeps coming back - I’ve taken Flagyl pills (14 tablets, on a 7-day course at 1 tablet twice a dose), and I've done this 4 separate times, and it clears and comes right back. I’ve tried doxycycline hyclate, also another antibiotic, and that seemed to really work, but it’s back again, and now I’m on Metrogel for 6 months :-( sad to say, BV is so awful - now my gyno wants to check if something else may be wrong & nothing was wrong with me up until this crazy BV that won’t go away - she said also my good bacteria is completely stripped, and I need to rebuild bacteria because of all the antibiotics I’ve taken, which makes sense. I’ve tried so much & it is so frustrating - I itch, I burn so bad when I pee - I have no STDs. I just do not get it - & I’ve even tried boric acid, and it just made me break out in hives and have a lil blood come out."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "Ouchhhh. I was prescribed this for BV. I put the gel in and immediately had cramping similar to a period and a little burning. After the second night, I woke up and the outside of my vagina was raw and it itched. It gave me a yeast infection. I stopped using it. I refuse to use this ever again. Seems like it made it worse."

For Rosacea "Didn't help with rosacea at all. Eyebrows broke out worse and continued to get worse with the use of Metrogel. It made the itching more intense, redness more intense, and bigger flakes. That was barely a week of use. Went back to the hydrocortisone just to get relief."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "MetroGel-Vaginal (metronidazole) for bacterial vaginitis: I started with a white discharge and was prescribed this vaginal gel for 5 days. The first time I used it was extremely horrible and painful. I had a bad stomach ache and cramps, also, my uterus (abdominal area) was hurting so bad. I had a hard time sitting down and overall just getting out of bed. I immediately stopped this gel. The abdominal pain lasted for 4 days, and now my vaginal area is red and itchy. I will NEVER use this thing again."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "I went to the doctor for an extremely painful UTI and kidney infection. It wouldn’t go away after 2 rounds of Augmentin. I was miserable for 2 months and grasping at straws for relief. She offered to do some cultures for me just in case, as well as giving me Bactrim. I ended up testing positive for BV. I wasn’t having symptoms, or so I thought! I get yeast infection symptoms, itching, and thick discharge a few days before and after my period every single month. I get a stabbing pain inside my vagina randomly. This has gone on for 2 years! I’m hoping that it’s the BV and this stuff helps! I’m on day 4 and also on my period. I do have chunky discharge. My period is about over, but I’m still wearing a pad because I have brown/reddish discharge throughout the day and when I pee there are bits of red/bloody discharge in my urine. Hoping for the best!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I honestly was so desperate, I went online and spent a lot of money hoping this would help my BV go away. Instead, after 5 days on 6 day, I was itching so bad I wanted to rip my insides out, and I was discharged heavy yellow clumpy discharge. At this point, I want to scream. I have been celibate 3 years, I refuse to have any intimacy because of BV destroying my life. I don't know what to do anymore, I have tried everything."

Metronidazole topical for Rosacea "Redness took over my entire face. REDNESS EVERYWHERE. Missed diagnosis and had used 5 different antibiotic creams and it was spreading. Kept me up feeling like I wanted to sink my nails into my face to find relief. That morning I try a different doctor who immediately says ACNE Rosacea. He gives me MetroGel 0.75%. Day 1 - No Redness and a change/Itching@50%. Day 2 - No Redness Change/Itching cut 50%. Day 3 Signs Redness Change. Day 4/5. Itching/Burning GONE. Redness down 25%. Day 6/7. Redness down 50% (skin was healing). 7/8 HUGE 80% redness gone. Sitting Now at day 11. My Redness is gone. (Expensive though) Drink lots of water. #3. A little bit goes a long way with this gel, what I can attest to is I didn't need any more than 2x/day and VERY little of this stuff. Just put a TINY drop on your finger and rub that in. It may not feel like you have all of the spot, but trust me, it gets in there. It did for me and mine was a very bad case."
