For Migraine "This was the worst medication reaction I've ever had and had no idea that this was possible! I am having a bad reaction from starting an SSRI for the first time and ended up in the ER vomiting and spinning and having been in a panic attack for about 8 hours (I thought that was bad too, just wait). The RN gave me straight Reglan in my arm and 30 seconds later I'm screaming at the top of my lungs, 'my legs my legs my legs!!!!' And the most terrifying feeling of 'I'm going to die' ensued. I wanted to run as fast as I could away. From myself or nothing. Basically, I was a star in one of those movies where you see someone being operated on in an alien spaceship and the person is awake and terrified. There were 3 security guards and 4 nurses in the room all looking at me while I had this crazy psychotic reaction. I've never felt more embarrassed and terrified at the same time! DO NOT RECOMMEND"

For Migraine "Went to the ER with a severe migraine headache, dizziness, and nausea. Was given a cocktail of Reglan and Benadryl and was told by the ER doctor it would help with both headache and dizziness. Didn’t help at all and made me feel extremely anxious. Then was given a different drug (don’t recall the name) combined with magnesium. Again, no relief at all. Then I asked to please remove the IV so I could go home, feeling the same or worse than before these drugs. I have only been to the ER three times in my life (I’m in my 60s), so I’m not too familiar with ER protocol. Would not allow this drug in my body again. Going to the neurologist tomorrow."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have sickle cell disease, so in addition to severe pain, I have bouts of nausea and vomiting. I was given Reglan in the ER; within 5 minutes, I felt extreme agitation, restlessness, dripping sweat, and shaking uncontrollably. I begged the nurse to tell the doctor I was having a reaction. She did, but with very little urgency, instead telling me to get back in the stretcher, but I couldn't due to sweating, shaking, and needing to pace. I was sent for a chest X-ray, but the tech sent me back, saying she was uncomfortable handling me in this state. I again pleaded with the nurse to call the doctor. He finally came, and I was given Benadryl to reverse the effects. I felt calmer, but it took a while for the shaking to stop. The nurse and doctor acted like I was crazy, smh."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I went to the emergency room for hyperemesis gravidarum and dehydration. My doctor first gave me Zofran through my IV, it didn’t work. I was still throwing up. So, he gave me a dissolvable tablet of Zofran. Still throwing up. So next, he puts Reglan through my IV and says he’ll be back to check on me. I literally started going insane. My husband was in the room trying to keep me calm because I started twisting and turning in the bed and yelling. I was having a panic attack. Now I’m here reading these comments, and it makes sense. Lol. It did help with my nausea, and I ended up filling a prescription for it, but I’ll only take it if it’s absolutely necessary."

For Migraine "I had been treated in the ER for a migraine and received Toradol and some other anti-nausea meds, and I did wonderfully. Then, 2 mo. later, I went to the ER for a migraine, and they wanted to try something new: Toradol and Reglan. I thought to myself, the other treatment worked well, why change it? But the ER doc insisted. Toradol in IV was great, Reglan went in, and I felt it burn up my arm. I became agitated, and within 30 seconds, I said to my husband, I think I'm having a panic attack, and then I did! I am a medical professional, and here I was yelling for the nurses because I thought I was going to die. My poor husband! It was a wild experience of feeling like I was passing out, but I was lying down. It felt like I was losing blood flow to my brain. Horrible experience!"

For GERD "When my mom was 70 years old, she was prescribed Reglan by her family MD for GERD and 'slow emptying' of her stomach. She took it 3 times per day with meals and was on it for at least 10 years! At 83 years old, she has terrible dyskinesia now and cannot sleep at night because of her legs, arms, and body shaking all over the place. She has tried several other meds to help with the spasms without any luck! She wishes she had never taken Reglan and that her doctor had been more aware of these terrible, debilitating, lifelong side effects. This is a bad drug. Steer clear of it!"

For Migraine "I was given this medicine through an IV while visiting the ER for a migraine. Reglan gave me the worst feeling that I've ever had. I had a major panic attack within minutes. I had weird thoughts, and my body could not stop shaking, especially my legs. There was a pool of sweat under me. I felt trapped and thought I was going to die. I wanted to tear out the IV needle and leave. The panic only lasted 2 hours, but it felt like 2 days. I hope to never have that feeling again."

For Migraine "Went to the ER, and they injected me with this. I immediately began coughing, fell back onto the bed, and began shaking uncontrollably and could not speak. The nurse panicked, and her eyes got teary. She then told me to fall asleep, and I refused because I was so scared! At 24 years old, I was not ready for this, I felt I was going to die. Took me an hour to stop the shaking, and my headache was still there. Never again! I am now traumatized from that experience and am afraid to ever get injected before knowing what exactly the drug is and its effects. Stay away from it, please."

For Lactation Augmentation "I was given Reglan off-label to promote the progesterone hormone to increase my breast milk supply after my son was born. After taking it steadily and gradually upping the dose after a couple of weeks, I started having severe side effects. I went in to work one morning and couldn’t remember how to do my job, I would fall asleep at traffic lights, had difficulty concentrating and focusing my eyes, and finally started having severe panic attacks, depression, and tardive dyskinesia. I ended up in the ER and had to get under psychiatric care. 14 years later, I still have to be on anxiety meds, and if I try to get off, the symptoms return. Be very careful taking this medicine."

For Migraine "I went to the ER last month because I was having bad migraines. They gave me Reglan and Benadryl in the IV right away. I was paranoid, jittery, and tried pulling the IV out of my arm. It was the worst feeling ever, and I was so ready to go home. The good thing is that it did take my migraine away for about a month. I just started having another migraine yesterday, and I went to the ER on 11-13-15, and they gave me Benadryl and Reglan in the form of a pill - no IV, and I didn't get that feeling this time. Just went to sleep really fast. I think it was the medicine going straight into my bloodstream a little too fast that gave me the bad side effects."

For Migraine "I just wanted to say, as someone who suffered immensely because of this drug, the reviews here regarding other people's experiences have been a great comfort to me as I now know I am not alone, nor am I crazy for having felt it. The sheer, true panic this drug caused me is completely indescribable. Before taking Reglan, I had no problem with doctors, hospitals, or even needles. I went to the hospital a couple of months ago for a very severe migraine, and they gave me Reglan for nausea. Within moments of having taken it, I experienced the most insane panic attack of my life. I don't even know if you can describe it as simply a 'panic attack' because it was so much more and so much worse than that. I nearly ripped the IV out of my arm."

For Lactation Augmentation "The purpose of my writing this review is to warn nursing mothers against using this drug. The drug worked - it increased my milk supply - but at a very high cost. Prior to taking Reglan, I had never had issues with depression or insomnia and very little issues with anxiety. Throughout the latter part of my taking this drug, anxiety increased steadily. Then I stopped sleeping. I became extremely anxious and severely depressed. After over two weeks going on a total of no more than 15 hours of sleep, I was admitted to the hospital. While in the hospital, I stopped taking Reglan. After five days off the drug, I was fine. Please do not take this drug. The other reviews are accurate as well. It is not worth it."

For Migraine "I have severe migraines. I would say on a monthly basis, and usually they give me morphine through the IV in the ER room. But one time, the doctor decided to give me this Reglan, which changed my life into the worst! I do not know how this medicine can treat something! I felt a burning sensation first in my stomach, and then I started to think that I'm going to die because I wanted to pull out the IV, and I was restless, shaking, panicking, anxious, and I wanted to pull out the IV line. The nurses looked at me like I was possessed by a demon! After one year, I still feel anxious and weird. I know this med changed my life into the worst!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was given Reglan for a severe migraine episode and was never so scared in my life. I immediately began to almost hallucinate, and I couldn’t move, nor could I speak to explain what was going on. I had to have a CT scan, and they had to literally move me as my whole body felt numb. I finally was able to let them know what was happening, and they gave me a shot of Benadryl. This drug is a menace and should be taken off the market. I thought I was dying. It was a frightening, horrible experience. I made sure to put that in my allergies in my medical file, and I will NEVER again use that ever again. I still tremble when I think of that experience. I was actually traumatized by this."

For Migraine "I'm so glad I read these postings. I was admitted to the ER after a five-day migraine. I was given this medicine through an IV. It took about 45 hours to feel relief. It took my pain level from a 10 to a 4. However, the first 20 minutes I felt very restless suddenly, and I wanted to be out of the hospital. I was uncomfortable, and I wanted to rip the IV out of my arm. I was paranoid waiting for my boyfriend to come back from the restroom. I couldn't explain the feeling, but after reading the other posts, I see it was a similar experience and side effect to the other posters."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was admitted to the hospital for severe dehydration and vomiting during the first trimester of my pregnancy. Not long after having Reglan administered, I began flipping out and struggling with severe anxiety. I was on the phone with my mother, screaming and kicking as if something or someone were attacking me or coming after me. It almost felt uncontrollable. I remember the feeling of the outburst kind of building up, then suddenly I was just completely terrified and having this episode. The nurses came running back in, and a doctor was called to decide what to do. They put something else in my IV, and I remember someone being told to give me extra fluids to flush it out. I felt better within a few minutes, but I was still a bit apprehensive and kept asking the nurses to let me go for a walk."

For Migraine "Horrible side effects. I was suddenly filled with aggression and rage after taking it. I was so irritated that I had to tell the doctor to give me something to calm me down before I ripped out my IV. Not something you want to deal with during a migraine."

For Migraine "Went to ER with a terrible migraine and vomiting. I was given the cocktail of Reglan and Benadryl. I have ended up having the worst reaction ever and scared to death. My heartbeat went to 140+, I had uncontrolled muscle movement, dizziness, had a feeling I was going to pass out, my limbs were shaking enormously, I couldn't produce words to explain what was happening either!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I had my first injection of this on March 31, 2016. I'm 50 yrs old and have had migraine, hypertension attacks for 45 yrs and suffered severe gangrene when I was young. Letting them give me this was a big mistake for me and seems other commenters too. I now don't feel so bad at my uncontrollable action after reading the same results of others. Please read other comments, it saves me the time of telling you the same thing. That I lost all control un-cognitively after the drug was injected. I ripped out the IV, left still sick. Three days later, I haven't eaten 'lost appetite,' no urine strength, and left with confused depression."

For Migraine "I had had a stroke on Dec 17, 10 days after a stent had been put in my neck. A few nights later, I had to go to the ER as I had the worst headache of my life on the left side of my head. They said they were going to give me a concoction that takes away any kind of headache. It was Reglan, Benadryl, and Pepcid...and I'm sorry for all the negativity on these other posts, it almost seems like the same person keeps coming in and saying the same things....'Cause I get panic attacks very easily, but this concoction not only knocked me out for 5 hrs. It took the headache totally away, so a big thumbs up, they even gave me a prescription for Reglan..."

For Nausea/Vomiting, Postoperative "Post-bariatric surgery, I was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks with horrible nausea and vomiting. They added Reglan to my medicines, and after the first dose, I stopped feeling sick and was able to come home. This is the third week post-op, and I am taking it about 1 time per day in the syrup form (tastes awful!). It was my reflux that was causing the problem, and every other reflux medicine did nothing to touch it. I am so thankful to have this medication available."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Please avoid this drug at all costs. Possible lifelong side effects. Yesterday, I was in the hospital due to a Crohn’s flare-up. Due to negligence, I was given a drug I’m extremely allergic to called Reglan. It induced a Parkinsonism reaction (akin to Parkinson’s disease) where I started violently seizing and convulsing. For 30 minutes, I lost motor control of my eyes, legs, arms, and mouth. The only voluntary movement I could do was move my eyes side to side. Benadryl counteracted the effects, but for 30 minutes, I thought I was going to die. And I bit off part of my tongue. And in those moments, I realized that some people live their whole lives like that. Paralyzed. So at the end of the day, when you’re feeling upset over little things, just realize it can be much worse. I beg the pharmaceutical industry to remove this drug. It’s not worth our lives."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was recently in the ER for vomiting and dehydration after a tonsillectomy. I had a bad reaction to the opioid I was given, and the Zofran I was on wasn't doing anything. My doctor decided to give me Reglan. This drug made the worst night of my life a touch more awful. Within minutes of it going in my IV, I had this overwhelming feeling that I needed to get out of the hospital. It was not logical - I was really sick. I just couldn't control my thoughts. I started screaming 'I have to get out of here! Let me out! Get me out of here' over and over like a maniac. Then the hot flashes came. I was shaking like a leaf and feeling like I was crawling in my skin. I started stripping my clothes off. If I could have taken my skin off too, I would've. By far the strangest reaction I've ever had to a drug. This stuff is awful. Luckily, the nurses came running in with Benadryl. That calmed me down pretty quickly. I've never had anything like this happen to me before. It was mortifying and horrific."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have been taking this medicine off and on for about 2 years. When I first started, I hated it because it made me feel anxious, depressed, and emotional. I was on 10 mg a few times a day. It took the sickness away, but I couldn't handle the side effects, so I stopped, and the sickness came back. Finally, the doctor cut it down to 5 mg, and I felt so much better with that. The side effects were gone, and the sickness was controlled too. I'm doing very well with this medicine, but the long-term use still has me nervous because I don't want to develop tremors later. So far, so good, and I feel pretty good."
