For Migraine "Worst experience of my life, it was almost fatal. Literally, my nurse began crying as I was in and out. I suffer PTSD now because of this experience and am scared to go to the hospital, take medications, and especially the ER. Went in for a headache that was persistent, no other symptoms, a healthy young 23-year-old and had such a bad reaction from injecting this stuff into my veins within 10 minutes of showing up. Makes you question their practice and intentions."

For Nausea/Vomiting "The worst experience I’ve ever had regarding medicine. I was sixteen at the time-30 now. Went to the ER for stomach pain and was administered Reglan and morphine. The only thing I remember is feeling like I wanted to rip my skin off and had no awareness of what was even happening. I remember telling the doctors and nurse, “drain my blood.” Get this out of me. Sounds dramatic and crazy, because it really was. How I recall them telling me it was a bad reaction to this medicine, I’m not sure... just remember looking at my dad as they held me down and sedated me with Benadryl. I’ve never in my life experienced something so scary. I literally have PTSD and am scared to take any meds because of this drug. The most uncomfortable I’ve ever been in my life."

For Migraine "I am so relieved to find out that I am not alone with these reactions to Reglan. I had a similar reaction once before, so this time I begged them not to give me the Reglan, but they reassured me the medication wasn’t the issue. I pulled out my IV and checked myself out. Why isn’t this kind of reaction known of in the ER?"

For Migraine "Caused immediate dystonic reaction, hallucinations, derealization, depersonalization, agoraphobia, monophobia, daily panic attacks, severe depression, akathisia, legs stopped working, muscle tremors, severe fatigue, chills, fainting, diarrhea, nausea, dry heaving, loss of appetite, acid reflux, shortness of breath, red burning skin, numbness in limbs, headache, restlessness, chest pain. Was given this drug via IV one-time dose! It has now been 6 months and I am still completely disabled, feels like I'm living in a dream, scared all of the time, can't eat, no joy, suffering for months on end. I’ve heard it can take a year or more to recover. Please join the Reglan Support Group on Facebook if you are suffering long-term effects from this med and don’t let doctors gaslight you! Keep in mind I have no history of mental illness and now have similar issues to TBI and severe panic disorder."

For Migraine "I went to the hospital for hypertension, which caused an excruciating headache. I was given Benadryl + Reglan and almost immediately started to feel strange. I couldn’t sit still, I got hot and sweaty, and wanted to stand up, but I couldn’t due to the IVs. I was screaming to unhook me and just wanted to leave. I couldn’t shake the feeling that I needed to go home. I felt like I was dying. I became paranoid and anxious to the point I ripped the IV out of my hand-blood was dripping everywhere, and the sight of it made me vomit. It was a huge mess, and I couldn’t calm down. I finally just ran right out of the hospital and went home. Now I know by reading it was definitely a reaction to the Reglan, and I am definitely adding it to my drug list of absolute intolerance. It didn’t take my headache away and caused the worst panic attack I have ever had when I don’t have a history of panic attacks. Seems to me you should be warned about these types of side effects beforehand."

For Gastroparesis "Took it for diagnosed gastroparesis in 2012. I felt great for about 5 hours, and then I had an allergic reaction. For me, that meant I felt burning ants under my skin as the muscles in my face and neck locked themselves into distorted positions. I spent hours staring at the ceiling because my neck was completely straight and locked, my eyes couldn't focus, and my face made all sorts of nonsense expressions, making it hard to breathe. My mother said I went cross-eyed. Of course, I also started vomiting profusely."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was recently in the ER for vomiting and dehydration after a tonsillectomy. I had a bad reaction to the opioid I was given, and the Zofran I was on wasn't doing anything. My doctor decided to give me Reglan. This drug made the worst night of my life a touch more awful. Within minutes of it going in my IV, I had this overwhelming feeling that I needed to get out of the hospital. It was not logical - I was really sick. I just couldn't control my thoughts. I started screaming 'I have to get out of here! Let me out! Get me out of here' over and over like a maniac. Then the hot flashes came. I was shaking like a leaf and feeling like I was crawling in my skin. I started stripping my clothes off. If I could have taken my skin off too, I would've. By far the strangest reaction I've ever had to a drug. This stuff is awful. Luckily, the nurses came running in with Benadryl. That calmed me down pretty quickly. I've never had anything like this happen to me before. It was mortifying and horrific."

For Migraine "I went to the ER because of a bad headache due to my blood pressure being up. They gave me Reglan and Benadryl. Within seconds, I felt such a rush that I thought I was having an allergic reaction. I started asking what was wrong with me, what did you give me. I could not lift my head or turn myself over. I felt limp as if I were a rag doll. I thought I was dying and kept asking my husband to pray for me and call my pastor. This was the worst drug reaction that I ever experienced. I hope others have better results."

For Migraine "I don’t recommend it at all! I went to the ER due to extreme symptoms from a migraine, and they gave me this. Not even a minute later, I went absolutely insane!!! Even got arrested at the hospital! Doctors obviously didn’t realize that what they gave me is what caused me to have this reaction. When they tried to give it to me again, I advised them of the adverse reaction and legal problems I now had because of it. So, it is listed in my file to not give to me, but still. Save yourself the issues that come with this medication."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was in the hospital after the birth of my son. I was given Reglan after my tubal for nausea, and it almost was the end of me. I was highly allergic. There were two nurses in my room talking, and I couldn’t even communicate with them that something was wrong. I had my phone in my hand, and luckily my doctor had texted me earlier and was able to text 911 to her and send it right at that moment. She immediately contacted the nurse, and I was not breathing when the nurse turned around. So scary."

For Migraine "I don't have a history of migraine, but I had severe headache for 3 days, so I went to the ER. After doing some scans, they gave me Benadryl, Toradol, and Reglan by IV. As soon as Reglan was injected, I had a severe reaction to it within seconds, and I couldn't move, I couldn't talk, I was literally paralyzed. I could hear people talking, but I wasn't able to respond, and my heart rate went to 150 bpm. It was the worst feeling ever. They had to give me an antidote to reverse the effects, but it still took almost 3 hours for me to actually speak again. After that day, I personally do not like Reglan and how dangerous the side effects can be."

For Migraine "My son has hemiplegic migraines. We just had our 3rd ER visit. First time getting Reglan in the cocktail. He began shaking uncontrollably with chills and had almost muscle spasm jerks. We had no warning of possible side effects, so obviously he was scared, increasing the side effects. The nurse said it is a mild, common, allergic reaction to the drug. He was treated with an additional IV dose of Benadryl and began to settle fairly quickly. Know that this reaction is a side effect."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Was given Reglan to help with nausea from antibiotics and felt soon after taking it paranoia, anxiety, and like I wanted to die. This was totally uncharacteristic of me. I called the pharmacy and asked if this could be a side effect. She told me I may be having an allergic reaction and to take some Benadryl and call 911. I took the Benadryl and fell asleep. I didn't call 911. When I woke up, I was fine and back to normal. Have never taken Reglan again."

For Nausea/Vomiting "16-year-old daughter got this prescribed for her nausea at a children’s hospital. Two days later, severe allergic reaction - her neck and back started arching and she couldn’t control it. Ambulance took her to the hospital. They gave her Benadryl, which was the antidote. Doc said she suffered acute dystonia because of Reglan and its combining with Prozac did not help at all."

For GERD "So when I became pregnant, I had the usual morning sickness that evolved into hyperemesis. This lasted until I was 25 weeks pregnant and was FINALLY prescribed this WONDERFUL drug! I could eat and drink normally, feel not sick, and just finally enjoy the rest of my pregnancy as a happy pregnant lady!! It took 3 days to work. After giving birth, I had the same sickness, further realizing that I had gastroparesis (caused by pregnancy). I was undiagnosed at that point, and they thought it was anxiety. They put me on Wellbutrin, which interacted with the Reglan, then I had a dystonic reaction to the Reglan. That’s the only reason I don’t give it a 10/10. This medicine helped me so much."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Had it long back for 6 months, 1/2 tab twice a day for stomach infection with other medicine. Realized very late that I was allergic to this medicine. Felt like ending my life. Depressed."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I went to the ER for extreme nausea and vomiting. They gave me Reglan. Within minutes, I started having a psychiatric break. I had never experienced anything like it. My body wanted to rip out my IV and run from the hospital. My hands were shaking, and I couldn’t focus well enough to even make a phone call. My brain knew I was out of control, but it couldn’t stop the reaction. I felt completely helpless. I tried to explain how I felt to the doctor, and he threatened to send me to the psych ward. One of the nurses finally suggested I might be having an allergic reaction. They gave me two doses of Benadryl, and 15 minutes later I was back to myself. I will not ever take this medication again!"
