For Migraine "I went into the ER with a severe migraine, and I was given what they call a migraine cocktail. I told them before I was given the medication that I suffered from an anxiety disorder. They did not tell me that Reglan's side effect was anxiety. As soon as the nurse injected my IV, I felt a horrible anxiety attack, it lasted for hours. I felt so anxious and wanted to run out of the hospital. Please make sure you know what you’re getting. I’d rather have a horrible headache than that. This medication is dangerous."

For Migraine "Anytime you go into an ER with a migraine, the doc will automatically try to avoid real meds and instead says, 'We're gonna try Reglan,' which has a sedative effect, and then add Benadryl and knock you out, turn off the lights, and close the door for dark and quiet. Good thing for any kind of headache. About thirty minutes later, the doctor rushes in, flips on the light, and says, 'How's the headache?' At thirty minutes of sleeping, you're just starting to hit REM. You're groggy from the sedative effects, therefore, not thinking clearly, so you answer like, 'Um, okay, I guess.' 'Great, let's get you outta here.' On the way out, as you're waking up, you realize the pain is still there, but too late. Reglan is great for the doctors but does nothing for the patient."

For Gastroparesis "I have read all the reviews, and they are terrifying to say the least, but I suffer from gastroparesis and was put on this 3 times a day. I cut it back to basically only taking it whenever I start feeling 'funky' (nausea, vomiting, etc.). It works fine for me. No side effects. Just take it when I need it, which, controlled with diet, I may take 5 mg Reglan 3 times a week. Works great for gastroparesis patients."

For Gastroparesis "This drug should be taken off the market. Has a Black Box warning. Caused a constantly twitchy finger (tardive dyskinesia) after three pills. Took months for it to go away and left the finger permanently weak, sometimes this side effect is ongoing and irreversible."

For Gastroparesis "I have what has so far been categorized as gastroparesis, and while it did help with my stomach pains after eating, I acquired a heavy restlessness that basically made it impossible to do anything. I could hardly focus my vision, nonetheless my mind, and my muscles felt tense and restless, occasionally twitching. It was almost an anxiety level of antsy feelings that I sort of had to wait out. At least when in pain I can focus and actually do things (albeit with more effort), but with this I was useless."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have been having heartburn, nausea, and generally feeling sick to my stomach for years. I have been taking this drug for 3 days, and my stomach has not felt this good in years. I hope this continues to work, and I can now sleep late because I am not getting up to puke or take an antacid."

For Migraine "I went to the hospital for hypertension, which caused an excruciating headache. I was given Benadryl + Reglan and almost immediately started to feel strange. I couldn’t sit still, I got hot and sweaty, and wanted to stand up, but I couldn’t due to the IVs. I was screaming to unhook me and just wanted to leave. I couldn’t shake the feeling that I needed to go home. I felt like I was dying. I became paranoid and anxious to the point I ripped the IV out of my hand-blood was dripping everywhere, and the sight of it made me vomit. It was a huge mess, and I couldn’t calm down. I finally just ran right out of the hospital and went home. Now I know by reading it was definitely a reaction to the Reglan, and I am definitely adding it to my drug list of absolute intolerance. It didn’t take my headache away and caused the worst panic attack I have ever had when I don’t have a history of panic attacks. Seems to me you should be warned about these types of side effects beforehand."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was given Reglan via IV and mouth just prior to both of my c-sections. On both occasions, within minutes, I was very anxious. On the operating table, I had an anxiety attack and was begging for someone to help me. Everyone just thought I was freaking out because it was a c-section. I thought I had gone crazy. It ruined both of my childbirth experiences because I didn't care about the birth - all I wanted was to crawl out of my skin and disappear so I could get away from the awful panic and anxiety. Although I was physically present for the birth, mentally and emotionally, I had checked out."

For GERD "This medication made me feel like I was going crazy. I slept all day, and my bones felt all mushy, I could barely walk and had severe back and neck pain, which I still do, and it prevents me from living life normally. I never knew medication could do this until I experienced it for myself."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was given Reglan in an ER when I couldn't stop vomiting when I had a migraine. It helped to stop my vomiting, but I reacted horribly. It made me uncontrollably agitated and nervous. I couldn't stop moving, I couldn't think clearly, and I couldn't relax until I was given a sedative. I now claim that I am allergic to the drug due to the way my body reacted to it."

For Gastroparesis "Side effects are real. Been off Reglan for 10 months and still dealing with the grinding jaw and tongue movements. Beware of these side effects, they are horrible. My teeth are suffering now from Reglan."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was given Reglan intravenously for nausea while in the emergency room. Almost immediately, I began having these overwhelming urges to rip the IV out of my arm and run away as fast as possible, it felt like a shock wave was passing through every muscle in my body. The nurse said it was 'restlessness,' and it wasn't uncommon. Every few seconds, the sensation would return, and all I could do was wiggle around in the bed and cry, I felt so helpless. It took an hour for the feelings to go away."

For Gastroparesis "I started this medication for gastroparesis after 11 months of not being able to keep anything down. I noticed it helping after the first two doses. I was so excited until the awful side effects started. Drowsiness to the point I couldn't function, severe stomach and back pain, and bowel issues. I had to stop after 5 days in order to be able to take care of my family. So disappointed."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Second pregnancy, diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum (severe morning sickness). I’m the natural queen when it comes to medications and treatment, but this was something I knew I needed help with! I was first prescribed Zofran, the first hospital stay, and it didn’t help at all! Fast forward to the 3rd visit to the hospital, I was prescribed Reglan in my IV, and at first, I started to feel antsy, could not stay still, and my mask (due to the COVID-19 pandemic we all have to wear them) felt like I was suffocating!!! I was extremely hot as well. It lasted until about 15 minutes after meditation. I must say that Reglan has helped tremendously with this sickness!!! It really saved me. If you can get past the first dose and the weird side effects of anxiety, this medicine really helps with nausea/vomiting. If your morning sickness isn’t too bad, I would refrain from taking any medications. Hopes this helps."

For Gastroparesis "Took it for diagnosed gastroparesis in 2012. I felt great for about 5 hours, and then I had an allergic reaction. For me, that meant I felt burning ants under my skin as the muscles in my face and neck locked themselves into distorted positions. I spent hours staring at the ceiling because my neck was completely straight and locked, my eyes couldn't focus, and my face made all sorts of nonsense expressions, making it hard to breathe. My mother said I went cross-eyed. Of course, I also started vomiting profusely."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Was given an IV dose of Reglan before I left the hospital, and I cannot sit still. Wanted to rest when I came home, but all I'm doing is pacing, moving my legs, and wishing I never let them inject me with this."

For Migraine "Was given this for a severe migraine, along with saline in a drip. After 10-15 minutes, I was 100% better and wide awake, ready to go, and not in an anxious or wired way, just felt ready to go home and pick back up my night. Nothing ever has worked this fast for me, and I've been to the ER for migraines many times in the past. This was by far the best medicine given to me, and I had no side effects whatsoever. 2 thumbs up for this medicine!"

For GERD "I have no side effects with Reglan after 3 months of use. It works well when combined with Nexium, this combo is the only med that works for my gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). I have tried them all, and these 2 medicines reduce the GERD down by approximately 75%. I also have my bed propped up at the head by 6 inches."

For Lactation Augmentation "I was prescribed Reglan drops to increase breast milk. I was at work one day and had a wave of fear and anxiety overcome me to the point I had to be hospitalized. The horror of a side effect lasted about 2 weeks. It was the darkest, most perverse feeling I have ever felt, I feel like the word anxiety doesn’t encompass the full terror this drug caused."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was given this in IV before surgery. I immediately became anxious and could not sit still. The PA said, 'Oh yes, this happens sometimes.' They had to give me Benadryl to calm me down. It was the worst experience I have had - out of control and jumpy."

For Gastroparesis "This medication can be dangerous, but it works REALLY well. I used it to treat stomach motility. I've been admitted to the ER many times during flare-ups (severe nausea/vomiting/no sleeping/misery that would last for days), and as soon as I would get it through an IV, I would feel so good! So it's a miracle drug when it comes to treating nausea/vomiting. I took only 10mg because of the warnings and only took it at night and if I needed it (if I ate something that would not digest). It worked really well to manage gastroparesis. I started to function, gain weight, eat food. Then after 6 months, I woke up one day and my speech was slurred, and I was losing fine motor control, couldn't write or text, so I had to stop taking it."

For Gastroparesis "Went to the hospital for uncontrollable nausea/vomiting and am Type 1 diabetic. By IV, it made me restless, agitated, and my face felt slightly swollen, but it, along with some Zofran in between, stopped the vomiting. They diagnosed me with gastroparesis, so now I take it 30 minutes before I eat and once before bed."

For Nausea/Vomiting "They gave me Reglan in the ER for my nausea I was having due to my pregnancy. The nurse slowly pushed it into my IV and walked out. As soon as he closed that door, my body set into panic. I was extremely uncomfortable, I wanted to get out of my own skin. I felt like I was suffocating and started sweating from the panic, so I was hot and feeling like I was going into a bad anxiety attack. I had racing thoughts, and I thought I was going insane, but I didn’t know why. I have anxiety, but not that made me feel like that. After 5 minutes of realizing I couldn’t calm down on my own, I rang for my nurse, and she came in knowing exactly what was going on. I mean, I'm literally in here close to ripping this IV out of my arm, so I’ll take nausea over this feeling any day. Do not take this medicine if you don’t have to or have pre-existing anxiety. I know there aren’t many options for pregnant women, but this is a kind of torture I could live without."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was given this a year ago in the ER. Almost immediately, I had unpleasant side effects. I felt like I couldn't sit still, and I was extremely anxious. For two weeks, I couldn't take care of my kids alone. I cried all the time and thought about suicide. I ended up in the ER a couple more times after that. Fast forward to three days ago, I was given Compazine for vomiting. I had no idea the two are closely related, and I experienced similar side effects. On the drive home, I had to talk myself out of jumping out of the car. Very deep thoughts consumed me. I do have a history of anxiety and depression, so I'm not sure if there is a correlation or not, but I've never had a voice in my head trying to convince me to take my own life. It was very scary, and three days later, I'm still anxious and unable to sleep or stay at my house alone. I know all meds affect people differently, but please take these reviews seriously. There are much less dangerous meds that can treat the same things."

For Gastroparesis "I started Reglan while I was pregnant with my daughter. Symptoms of nausea and vomiting continued after delivery. After countless ED visits, specialists, scans, blood work, I was diagnosed with gastroparesis. I asked for the same medicine I had when I was pregnant with her (Reglan), and if I'm being honest, this drug helped me so much. It emptied my stomach rather quickly, so food didn’t linger, and it helped with nausea as well. To many people struggling with gastroparesis, this drug did help. BUT after being on it for so long, I was suddenly admitted into the ED for acute dyskinesia. This drug became a nightmare really quick. I couldn’t control the movements in my mouth or jaw, my jaw was clenching, and my tongue seemed as if it was trying to force its way into the back of my throat. I will never take this drug again, but am thankful for the temporary relief it provided. It has been black boxed by the FDA for tardive dyskinesia. Beware. Stay informed, stay safe."
