For Muscle Pain "I don't like to take pills. I find max strength methyl salicylate 30% w/w better for muscle pains, even rubbing some on my stomach if I've worked out my abs too much. Bed sores? Everything. For a headache, I drink a glass of water and have a bit of sugar. It always works/helps me."

Methyl salicylate topical for Muscle Pain "I have tried all types of pain relief. Finally, I found Salonpas gel on the shelf at Walgreens. I'm a nurse, and the long hours are taking a toll on my back and hips. I must say it works wonders. It's worth the odor, which goes away after a while. I have shared the Salonpas gel with 5 of my friends and co-workers. They all love it. Unfortunately, the price has increased since I started using it. Anyway, can I get coupons? Greatly recommended. Even better than steroid injections and pain pills."

For Muscle Pain "I recently tried Ultra Strength Bengay and found it to be a poor quality, worthless, useless rip-off of a product that did nothing. I might as well have used water. It did not heat up, and I could not even tell that I had applied it, although I know, of course, that I did."

Methyl salicylate topical for Muscle Pain "I have a rotator cuff that has been repaired and is trashed again. No hope of fixing it now. I also am on Xarelto for blood clots, and taking NSAIDs makes me bleed in bad places. I have been using these for a few months now with pretty good results. Not great results, but they do seem to allow me to sleep. I find that if you wipe the area with alcohol to remove skin oils prior to application, they stick pretty well. They are okay for true muscle pain, but not bony or cartilaginous structures. Also, yes, you have to rotate application sites because they will cause a chemical burn in about three days."

Methyl salicylate topical for Muscle Pain "These do not provide a 'miracle cure' (nor did I expect them to), but they have definitely helped with my husband's stiff neck and shoulder pain. I have been applying them to his neck and shoulders in the afternoon; then he takes a nap with a supportive pillow and feels much better when he awakens. I have not had the opportunity to try other brands/products, but I can say that these do work and are not a waste of money. I would (and probably will) buy them again."

Methyl salicylate topical for Muscle Pain "I hurt my lower back. I tried Salonpas, and it worked great. I was having a lot of lower back pain and was unable to sleep. Since using, I find if you can find the point of the most painful area and apply it, it works great, I sleep like a baby. Also, the price isn't bad anymore and is inexpensive at Dollar General. I give the patches 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐."

Methyl salicylate topical for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I've been using Solanpas for so many years, like I tell a few of my co-workers, and they have been used. For me, Solanpas works for more than what they say, if I'm stressed, I have it in my shoulders, and that works so well. Now I have knee pain, and it works. I only wish the price wouldn't go too high. I tell everyone it works. I did use the spray and the patch, it may not work as well for everyone. But it works for me and for everyone that I say Solanpas works."

Methyl salicylate topical "Disabled by stroke. I cannot walk, so I swim using only my right arm; however, reaching out to paddle results in shoulder pain, sometimes severe. A 1965 classmate recommended trying Salonpas, so my wife got a box today. I had one on my shoulder for about 8 hours, and it really helped! I was surprised, but convinced and pain-free. It stayed on till I got out of my shower tonight. It was then a crumpled sticky mess, hard to get tossed away. I'll have another after swimming tomorrow. Highly recommended!"

Methyl salicylate topical for Muscle Pain "This was a godsend for shoulder and sciatic pain. My mom had pain, it helped her. My husband had degenerative joint disease and sciatic pain, this helped relieve where other topicals didn't touch it. You could see his body rippled with pain just standing or sitting. But Banalg helped. If it affected children, why not make it a prescription instead of taking it away? My husband had to resort to Rx pain pills and became addicted because the pain was so great. My mom was a CNA and used it in the nursing home for years. Other topicals mentioned do not help in the same manner. Tried them all. One can overdo anything, balance is key. If someone would use it according to directions, it shouldn't be a problem, but people want quick fixes and abuse the medication, and that causes issues...and this can be with anything. Wish I had it again, especially at my age."

Methyl salicylate topical for Muscle Pain "I had very severe pain from a pulled, overworked leg muscle, above and below my knee. Tried to get an appointment with my acupuncturist, and my friend recommended I try the patches until then. They were exceptional in helping to alleviate my severe pain! I have read you should only use three patches, but my box illustration shows four on a person's body, and this has worked great. The range of motion in my leg is getting better every day. I am a very happy customer!"

Methyl salicylate topical "Over the years, I have tried various pain patches, but I was disappointed with them. I decided to try Salonpas patches, and they ARE FABULOUS! I have been able to postpone rotator cuff surgery since using them. Also, I took a bad fall and broke my left arm, and because I tried the Salonpas patches, I am getting a tremendous amount of pain relief!"

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Equate pain-relieving cream helps with arthritis pain. Unlike the patches, I can rub it in where the pain is. My hands do not allow me to use those patches, so those of you having problems may try the creams, as I have tried everything out there and find this is one product that helps."

Methyl salicylate topical for Muscle Pain "I have bursitis in both hips that developed prior to back surgery. The pain is bearable during the day, but at night, I wake up with pain because I'm a side sleeper. I started using Salonpas gel and I have been able to sleep through the night without waking. I get cortisone injections when needed, but when I can't get an appointment quick enough, this is fantastic! And for roughly $8.00 at Walmart, you can't beat it!"

I have been trying to find this rub for years and trying to use this bottle sparingly. This bottle was given to me by a friend who is no longer with us. Methyl salicylate topical for Muscle Pain "Horrible! I used these patches for a few years and loved them. Now, with the new gel design, they are a waste of your money. Once you move, they begin to roll off, it's difficult to keep one on your body. I wish they had never changed the design to gel patches. I can no longer support this product and advise everyone not to waste their money. Please go back to the original patches. Listen to your customers."

For Osteoarthritis "I have found much more pain relief in my targeted knee affliction, I have nearly completely bone on bone and will eventually need a knee replacement. My PCP actually started prescribing me lidocaine patches, which I felt did nothing for my pain. A friend gave me a Salonpas patch, the main ingredient is methyl salicylate, and it was a night-and-day difference. Now I do still have pain, but it's definitely noticeably better, and I haven't had any side effects either. I like the fact that it's plant-based (more natural), and my pain is totally manageable, especially compared to the lidocaine patches, of which I was appalled at the harm and serious side effects of long-term use. I use a patch in the morning, and after 30 minutes of icing down, I apply another before bedtime. The improvement gives me hope of delaying that knee replacement till much longer than originally thought/said. Happy, happy, and opiate-free! I say it's a big win-win."

Methyl salicylate topical "Salonpas gel patch does not adhere well, especially at the ends. So it lifts and bulks under your clothes, very frustrating. Unfortunately, I bought a big pack, used 3, stuck with 12 that I won't use. Some relief, but not any more than any lidocaine ointment. Don't recommend at all!"

It is really helping with the pain I have been having for 4 days. I just got these today, it is such a relief. The pain is finally going away, and I can sleep better tonight."

Methyl salicylate topical for Muscle Pain "Have used for four or five years with no side effects... muscle strain four days ago after Pilates in left side neck, upper cervical, scapula. Applied four patches across back of neck; woke up three hours later, different tingling burning pain. Attributed to continued muscle strain; removed patches five hours later, showered. Several hours later noted more strained discomfort, burning; felt bumps in my scalp close to posterior neck. Slept restlessly and with continued burning sensation. Husband noted red bumps and marks over left side of neck. Called your customer care line; closed. Called Costco where purchased Lot SAO8U Exp 09/2019."

For Muscle Pain "I placed Icy Hot Vanishing Scent Gel Pain Relieving Gel (as on the tube) on the inside of my knee generously as per directions, but not much at all four hours later, a small amount. About thirty minutes after the second application, I became very nauseated for hours and felt as if I was going to have diarrhea. At this time, I still feel no better hours later. I did, however, wash it off as soon as I read the side effects."
