For Endometriosis "I was hesitant to try this, but I really didn't want to have a hysterectomy. I've already had one ovary/tube out due to my endometriosis. I was recently diagnosed with also having adenomyosis now. It was Depo-subQ, Lupron, or a hysterectomy. I read so many terrible reviews that it had me nervous, but I tried it anyway. I've gained a few pounds, but am also 45 and lazy, so that may be the more likely culprit. My acne is actually gone. I've had no endometriosis symptoms. My hair is slightly thicker. For me, it's been a miracle. We're hoping to be able to have these results until menopause hits."

For Endometriosis "My doctor put me on Depo-Provera after laparoscopy for endometriosis. I had irregular periods after the first shot, and after the second, I remember I had one period that seemed to last for a month. This is a known side effect, and as promised, it went away after the third shot. I haven't had my period now in about a year. I also haven't had any debilitating endometriosis symptoms either. I think I gained about 5 lbs total, but then again, I'm also in my 40s, and that could simply be a part of aging. I am a big fan. It gave me nearly total relief after getting through the first 6 months."

For Endometriosis "I've had endometriosis my whole life. Six surgeries. I was on Lupron 2x. Birth control pills. Finally, the depo was my last resort. The first time, it made me bleed every day for 7 months. I didn't give up on it. It made me gain weight because it increases your appetite, and you don't realize it until you go off of it. I still didn't give up. I've been on it now for 5 years, and I have joined Weight Watchers and increased exercise. I have not had a period in 5 years. I don't miss the agony, the pain, the hospital visits, being bedridden for 3 days a month. I love the Depo, and now I'm making progress with losing weight, so I'm happy."

For Endometriosis "I have been having the depo injection as I have endometriosis. It has worked wonders for me. After the first two injections, I was spotting a lot, but after the third, it stopped my periods completely, which were so heavy and painful. The only downsides are when I first get the injection, I am really grumpy for the first few weeks. My sex drive is nowhere near as high as it used to be, and I have gained weight, which the doctors tell you will only happen if you eat more. I find this not to be true, I have been exercising more than I ever have and eat so healthy all of the time. No matter what I am doing, I can’t seem to lose the weight."

For Endometriosis "I started on the shot in 2013 to help with the pain from endometriosis. My cycle was pretty regular, but I was in constant pain. The first year went pretty good, with no side effects. After the first year, I started bleeding heavily and continued to for three months. I was put on estrogen, and the depot shot went from every twelve weeks to ten weeks. After three months of this, I underwent a uterine ablation. The bleeding stopped, but the pain from the endometriosis is still an everyday problem, and I have put on 45 lbs, my blood pressure has gone up. My doctor and I have decided the depot shot is no longer an option. The shot worked, I suggest monitoring your health while on it."

For Endometriosis "Was on depo shot for 9 months. First, I had lighter periods, and the endometriosis pain was better. Second month, I had a light period, but it was all month. And then after that, the pain was less, and there was no bleeding. I started to gain weight. Almost 50 pounds. I already have back pain from a herniated disc, so I did not go and get my last shot. Endometriosis pain is back ten times worse. And I have been bleeding almost nonstop since September 2015, and it is now March 1, 2016. I'm gonna go back to the doctor and have a hysterectomy. I cannot stand the bleeding or the pain."

For Birth Control "Just recently have gotten Depo subQ Provera for the first time-(at the same time my best friend has gotten the regular Depo-Provera shot)-I haven't had any side effects: no mood swings, no weight gain, nothing. While she's had some mood swings going on. I don't know if it's because it's a different Depo or just because I'm a different person, but I'd recommend this to people. Plus, it's a much smaller needle that goes in your stomach instead of your arm."

For Birth Control "Not only did I gain ten pounds in just a few months after maintaining a steady weight for years, after a few months, the lining of my vaginal walls began to thin, making sex really uncomfortable. I also have to get up to pee three times a night on average, which has never happened before and is really inconvenient. In order to combat the heavy periods I was getting after the first month, my doctor put me on Junel Fe as well, and that seems to be helping, but I had to go on a second form of birth control that required taking a pill daily just because this worked so poorly and had so many side effects. I also noticed significant anxiety and hormonal fluctuations at random with zero cause since I've been on this."

For Birth Control "I took the depo-subQ Provera 104 shot twice, one shot every 3 months, right after high school. While I did not get pregnant, I gained 50 pounds. I had always been a tiny person. I was 100 pounds when I graduated, and after that 6 months, I was 150. No change in diet, and I was actually more active. After I decided to get off of it, I was unable to lose the weight, and I didn't get my period for 9 months and was not able to get pregnant for a year and 9 months, which actually was failed (blighted ovum), and I finally am pregnant 2 and a half years later. All from 2 shots. My whole life, I had very regular, light periods. After the shot, they were random and fluctuated in flow from heavy to only spotting. I would never recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "Worst decision I ever made! I gained weight and bloated so bad even when I didn’t eat I bloated! I stopped taking it, and I am still trying hard to lose the weight. I have always been petite, but now I look pregnant because I am so bloated! I had no period, which was nice, but had no sex drive. It works for my friend, but for me, I hated it!!!"
