For Constipation "Had my gallbladder removed two years ago, had severe constipation ever since, tried prescription medicine which is advertised heavily and many other products. Milk of Magnesia has returned my life back to normal. 4 caplets at night and the next morning is great. I hope everyone else can have the same experience with this product. Thanks, Milk of Magnesia, Phillips."

For Constipation "This stuff is the real deal. It really clears you out. I had my gallbladder removed and was on pain meds, so I was unable to 'go' for at least 5 days. I panicked because normally I poop 6-7 times a day. So I called the nurse scared. She suggested milk of magnesia. The bottle called for 2 tablespoons, but I felt so bound and plugged up that I chugged 3 tablespoons. And it began. 20 minutes after I drank it, it was like an explosion of chowder every 10 minutes. I'm glad it worked, no cramps, no pain, just extreme anal gushing, and this happened every 10 minutes, making it inconvenient and annoying, but hey, it had to be done. I got the berry-flavored one, and it was relatively tasty."

For Constipation "This stuff is a freaking miracle worker. I have chronic constipation and can go weeks with no BMs thanks to my doctor-prescribed diet. Now, if I were to tell you nothing else worked, I'd be lying. Everything worked. However, this is the only product I've used that didn't leave me writhing in pain. Magnesium citrate, all stimulant laxatives, and even natural remedies gave me such awful cramps they'd double me over, and sometimes for days. Even saline laxatives made me queasy and ill-feeling for several hours post-BM. I thought I was out of options until I came across this at the Dollar Tree. No cramps, no discomfort, doesn't keep me up at night, and a BM like clockwork 5-6 hours after consuming. It completely empties me out!!!"

For Constipation "I had been constipated for a week, so I decided to take some cherry MOM. I took the recommended adult dosage at 12 PM, and by 1 PM, I felt an awful pain in my stomach and rear end. I jumped up and ran to the bathroom. I was so relieved and thought it was over, but NO. I've had diarrhea since. It's coming out explosively like water. Now my bum is sore. Yes, this works, but be prepared to be near a toilet!!!!"

For Constipation "If you take the recommended dose, it will work gently and effectively in about 6 hours. I use it whenever needed, pleasant taste and no cramps. I have found this to be the best laxative. A word of caution, don't take much more than directed; the first time I ever used this, I wasn't wearing my glasses and didn't notice the markings on the side of the dosage cup. I mistakenly thought it said 4 cups rather than 4 tablespoons on the label. That meant I took 4 times more than recommended. That wasn't all-I also didn't notice it was the concentrated stuff-twice as strong. Therefore, it amounted to 8 times the regular dose. It started working 2 hours later and I spent most of the day and the next day in the bathroom."

For Constipation "I am 19 years old and have battled extreme constipation since birth. Usually, I can have a BM from drinking coffee in the morning at home, but it is a hit-or-miss system. Sometimes it doesn't work and my discomfort grows. I have tried suppositories, enemas, stool softeners, prunes, Miralax, and the like. These things have worked but often are quite painful and only a temporary fix. I took 30 mL (2 tablespoons) of MoM at 8:40 am this morning. I did not take it before bedtime as instructed because I was not interested in being up all night, as some reviews forewarned. Along with a cup of coffee at noon, I was able to have a BM at 12:40 pm, so almost exactly 4 hours after I took the MoM. It definitely softened my stool and made it easier to pass. It did not give me diarrhea nor watery stool. Happy things are moving again. Also, remember to drink water, as this product pulls water from near tissue."

For Constipation "Did not have a BM for 8 days and became very bloated and uncomfortable. I took the maximum dose of Milk of Magnesia - MOM (45 ml) at 17:45, and by 18:30, I passed a healthy BM. I'm very surprised MOM worked so well. I've struggled with constipation on and off for a few months now, and I'm super happy I've discovered MOM."

For Constipation "I suffer from IBS, and by suffer I mean between alternating IBS-D & IBS-C. It's a fun combination, said no one ever. In the last 5 years, IBS-C symptoms are the most prevalent. Recently, I experienced SEVERE constipation (nearly 8+ days). I was terribly bloated, my abdomen was distended, had gas pains (under each side of my rib cage), and even chest pains. I took Dulcolax for women at the onset of this situation. It barely worked. It did, however, cause me to curl up in the fetal position on a hotel floor room (I was traveling for business) for over 2.5 hours while grabbing my stomach in agony due to the severe cramping it caused. Cold sweats and crying out for my mom (at 33 years old) accompanied the pain. So imagine my hesitation when my parents urged me to take M.O.M. while visiting for the holiday. Even with the fear of being curled up on the bathroom floor in my childhood home, I gave in to my concerned parents' recommendation of taking M.O.M. Night 1 - I was scared of cramping (even though the label clearly states - stimulant & cramp free) so I only took 45 ml vs. 60 ml prior to bed. I woke up and had success! Multiple BM's but still felt (knew) I was constipated. Night 2 - knowing I had not successfully passed everything, I took 60 ml prior to bed. Within 2 hours I had multiple (I mean multiple) BM's and still am today - over 36 hours later. I cannot say enough about M.O.M., it will most certainly become my go-to if this should happen again (which I know it will). It's effective, and I did not experience any negative side effects! No cramping!"

For Constipation "I tried EVERYTHING. I'm 70 and have had chronic constipation. Nothing worked. Today I was miserable! But then I decided to try what my 98-year-old mother-in-law took every night of her long life. MOM! I also know a woman who is 104 and takes two tablespoons every night of her exceptional life. Both these women had no side effects and were regular as clockwork. I took 2 TBs of the cherry-flavored MOM at 10 am and at 2:30 it worked! Try it, people :)"

For Constipation "This medication is excellent. I have tried every constipation med in the US, didn't work, even prescription meds. If you are ever constipated, go with Phillips' Milk of Magnesia (MOM), it will definitely work. Thank God."

For Constipation "I remember this product when I was a kid. My mom used to keep a bottle of it in the house all of the time, that was decades ago. I have used the pill form for the first time, and it still works quite well. I find the pill form a little more tolerable than drinking the liquid form. But what I like about it most is that it doesn't cause cramps. For anyone reading, the best time to take any laxative is at night before going to bed. Also, take a full 8 oz glass of liquid (water preferably) when taking any pill-form laxative. Water helps with constipation to begin with. The directions call for 2 to 4 pills, I took 3."

For Constipation "Milk of Magnesia is the only effective laxative I ever took that didn’t irritate my stomach lining or cause prolonged diarrhea (and I’ve taken them all now for opiate constipation). Eg. last time, I took 60 ml MOM after 5 days with no BM and nothing happened, so I took magnesium citrate, which gave me horrible cramps and diarrhea lasting 3 days, and my stomach felt like it had been strip-mined for a week. Couldn’t drink juice or soda after mag citrate without feeling like my stomach was a pit of fire for hours. THIS time I took MOM on the 2nd day with no BM and a feeling of gassy fullness. In 2 hrs, had a well-formed stool and went to bed. In the AM, passed a lot more, but normal, not like it had been marinating in a vat of acid. Tiny amount of watery stool at the end but that was it. No pain, cramps, diarrhea, irritation, or dehydration the next day. Went to work. Good thing I took it before it got too bad this time. I will always keep some on hand."

For Constipation "Was constipated for 2 days on vacation. Took 1.5 tbs Milk of M at 6 pm and another 1 tbs at 7:00 am. I was able to go in the morning at 8 am several times. It was easy and not watery, just a normal soft deposit. No cramps and no nausea. I think the people on here who got diarrhea and nausea after taking it took too much. Don't take more than it says. Taking half a bottle is going to make you have bad diarrhea. This was recommended to me by a doctor in the family who specializes in digestive system health."

For Constipation "This stuff works! Haven’t had a bowel motion for 4 days now and within the 4 days using Miralax and stool softeners and hot water drinking... but nothing. Finally went to the doctor, and they told me to try Milk of Magnesia, so I did. Within 2 hours, I finally had a bowel movement, and looks to me like I cleaned out my stomach. I took the 60 ml dose from the bottle instructions, but now for a week, I’ll take half again soon each day, so I can continue my bowel movements."

For Constipation "I have tried DocuLace and Colace, and they never worked for me. This works. If you are really stopped up (think at least 2-3 days), take almost the whole cup (3-4 tbsp.). If it doesn't work after about 12-28 hrs, take another 2-3 tbsp."

For Constipation "I had severe constipation today, and my stool was stuck. I couldn't even sit down. I had to pull what I could get out on my own in order to walk to get some Milk of Magnesia. It helped me pretty quickly. I was so severely constipated, I thought I was going to pass out as I was straining so badly. I strongly recommend Milk of Magnesia, it saved me a trip to the emergency room. I will let others know it's a terrific product for constipation. Thank you, Milk of Magnesia. You gave me the relief I needed after 6 hours of extreme constipation. I was in so much pain, and you helped me get through it. Thank you so much. I am so grateful for your help!!"

For Constipation "I just recently found out I'm pregnant (4 weeks) and had to stop taking my stimulant laxatives, which I had taken daily for the past 3 years! Without them I couldn't go! It's been a few days since I stopped taking them, and of course no BM for me. Called my doc and she recommended MOM. I took 2 tbs at 6:20 PM, and nothing happened. The next morning at 07:30 I took 4 tbs of MOM, and one hour later I finally had relief. Since then I went one more time. Pain-free! No diarrhea. I love it, especially knowing it's safe for my baby!"

For Constipation "I am 21 and have struggled with IBS-C for two years now. My doctor has me do colon cleanses when I am severely constipated. So I was prescribed to take 4 tablespoons of MOM. It took a little over 5 hours to kick in, and when it does, you'll know. The first few hours were awful with the gurgling and cramping in my stomach. At one point, I was going to take more because it seemed to not be working. DON’T. It will work, and you will feel so much better!"

For Constipation "I took the recommended dose at 9:30 am after horrible constipation, cramps, and bloating. Nothing but stomach gurgling occurred that entire day. I had to take another dose that evening around 7 pm. Still...nothing by bedtime. I didn't get relief until around 9 am the next morning, and from that point on, I was afraid to move or leave the toilet. And it took about a full 10 hours of off-and-on emergency bathroom trips (those uh-oh! Get up and run! kinds) to get it all out."

For Constipation "I wasn’t able to relieve myself for approximately 3 days. When I tried, it felt as though I was literally trying to pass a brick. My stool felt rock solid. I tried stool softeners for a day to no avail. I even tried to conduct my own digital removal of feces (DRF), but the stool seemed out of my reach. On the final day, I was experiencing anal contractions but was still unable to defecate. I took MoM, and the anal contractions worsened. After ~four hours, I was able to relieve myself. My stool was so hard that all the water that MoM creates was absorbed. I believe I will have a few more bowel movements, but the main clog has passed. Thank goodness!!"

For Constipation "Y'all... was having some discomfort from constipation and bloating. My stomach just generally felt horrible. Wanted quick relief, so I took 4 tbs of MoM. Yes, you read that right, FOUR TABLESPOONS! I have been off and on the toilet for the last hour and realize now I took too much! Will definitely use again in a much lower dosage."

For Constipation "I had jaw surgery 2 weeks ago, and I have to be on a liquid diet for maybe less than 6 weeks, but can also have very soft foods. After a week and a half, I started eating scrambled eggs, and then a couple of days later, I had to go poop and COULD NOT come out. It was painful and to the point I was crying. Then I was researching on what is the most effective out there... Magnesium Citrate. I went to Walgreens with my dad, and he said when he was a child, this was the BEST solution that helped him out with his constipation. When I bought the Wild Cherry flavor of MOM Phillips, I took it right away. It immediately helped out the cramps because it was extremely painful. Then I went to take a long nap, and then 5 hours later, IT CAME OUT LIKE A DREAM. Try it, please!"

For Constipation "I used the strawberry-flavored Milk of Magnesia at 17 weeks pregnant after having been constipated for about three weeks or so. Never do anything silly like take an unreasonable amount more than the recommended dose-like someone mentioned drinking half a bottle. Anyway, I called in a sick day at work due to a hurting belly and took a medicine capful at 2 am. It's 8:35 now, and I've successfully discharged the problem around 30 minutes ago. Remembering my grandmother giving me this in childhood reminded me that it definitely works, don't overdo it! It's a safe option for pregnancy, and also, it works."

For Constipation "2 years ago, I suddenly became so constipated that I couldn't have gone using a jackhammer! That's how bad it was, but after using every OTC laxative, enema, everything, I couldn't go. So, I told my doctor what was going on, and she prescribed Kristalose for $125.00 a month. No success in the beginning, then it got a tad better. Then I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which slows everything down, and was given medication for that. Finally, I saw a commercial for MOM and realized I had not tried it before. So, I rushed out and got some. It has changed my life in a great way! No more pain as I had for not going for a week. No cramping. Just stay close to home after use, and it works. Sometimes faster than others, but it will work. Good luck, guys."

For Constipation "About a week after I got my wisdom teeth surgically removed, I began to have painful constipation due to the side effects of the pain medication I was taking, despite an all-liquid diet. I had taken the pill version of Dulcolax before, but wanted to try a different, more natural remedy. I took the recommended dose for adults, 3 tablespoons (recommended is 3-4 tbs) around 1:00 pm. I took a nap and 5 hours later, still nothing. At 6 pm I took another 2 tablespoons, this time with 2 full glasses of water. The relief finally occurred around 9:30 pm that same day. However, after the first time, it has continued to flood out like water almost every 30 minutes. I am talking severe anal leakage. Just be patient and wait after the first dose, unlike me!"
