For Constipation "I wasn't able to poop for about 1 week. My friend told me about the magnesium citrate. I drank the full 10 oz. I waited about 2 hr, and let's just say everything that I had eaten about a week ago is finally coming out, and I can't stay too far from the toilet. The poops come out like water. I am using baby wipes. Besides that, I feel better belly-wise."

For Constipation "I personally had a bad experience. Bad constipation was my symptom, like everyone else. Super bloated and backed up. Instructed to take an entire bottle of this. Six hours later, I’m full of regret and wish I was constipated again. I have lost everything inside me in very painful episodes of diarrhea (ten episodes and counting). I’m extremely weak, and I can’t chug water fast enough to keep me hydrated. This stuff is dangerous. If a doc tells you to take a bottle, TRUST ME, take half. Be nice to your tummy :)"

For Constipation "I wasn't able to use the bathroom for 3 days. Today I went to the dollar store to buy some cherry magnesium citrate saline laxative. I drank 6 oz of it and 42 oz of water, and an hour later I was able to use the bathroom. 2 hours after that, I had diarrhea. Thank God I was able to use the bathroom! No more constipation."

For Constipation "I drank a 10 mL bottle of the lemon-lime flavor at about 7:00 pm and had to spread it out because it made me nauseous, and I couldn't handle the taste. So I finished it at about 8:15 pm, and I had been sipping about 15-20 oz of water along with it. This has been a painful experience so far (it's currently 12:15 am). I have had intense cramping in my lower abdomen that makes me feel like I constantly have to poop. But I really have not been able to go a whole lot (when I do, it's pure liquid as many other reviews said), but it also made my stomach so upset and caused considerable nausea. So in between bouts of diarrhea, I was dry heaving/retching over the toilet, but no vomit so far. The pain is nearly unbearable, and I just wish it would stop."

For Constipation "Started out with a severe UTI. Prior to that, movements were normal and regular. Think I got dehydrated, and since I have IBS, it doesn’t take a lot to throw off my system. So for two weeks, I was fighting this, but once the UTI was resolved, I still had this pressure/pain on my bladder/pelvic area. Doctor prescribed OTC Magnesium Citrate (1 10 oz bottle) along with a small bottle of Gatorade. I am not a fan of Gatorade, but she wanted to keep electrolytes in balance. Poured them together and sipped on this for about 3 hours. It took 8 hours to kick in, but I never experienced any stomach pains, cramps, or watery diarrhea, but wow, will it clean you out. Don’t plan on any out-of-your-home activities, you will regret it. Good luck, good health to all."

For Constipation "Four days after surgery, narcotics, and some serious constipation, I purchased some stool softening pills and some milk of magnesia and tried both. Neither had worked too well for me. I had begun to lose my appetite and had a hard time sleeping because of the pain. I purchased some grape magnesium citrate recommended by my doctor, and at 2:00 pm today, I took about 3 oz just to be careful. Only twenty minutes later, I had to go to the bathroom and had a little bit of luck. Then again, around 4:00, I took another 3 oz. At 8:00, it took full effect. I was able to empty out most, but had to keep running to the bathroom about every half hour for a few hours. It's close to diarrhea when it comes out, but not too bad. I highly recommend!"

For Constipation "I had surgery 6 days ago and was given Percocet. Then I took Motrin and Tylenol for the pain, which caused constipation. I had no bowel movements for 5 days. I tried prune juice, lots of water, walking, and Zantac 150 mg, and on the 6th day my doctor recommended the magnesium citrate. I tried the cherry flavor, did half at 1 pm, and very little happened. Then at 7 pm, I drank the remaining bottle, which to me wasn't that bad, just sour. At 2 am, I was in the bathroom passing diarrhea in parts. My stomach has not stopped rumbling the entire time (it's extremely noisy). This is really uncomfortable, and I took the day off for this. I recommend this product if you have constipation. I am thankful that it is finally coming down."

For Constipation "I definitely recommend this product when you're seriously backed up. Or if you suffer from IBD (irritable bowel disease) with constipation like I do. You know that drill. One to two weeks of constipation and then straight-up diarrhea... Anyway, this is the second time I've used it. The taste is pretty nasty, but it gets it done. You're in for some serious power hosing on your toilet. Make sure you stay near a bathroom after taking it. The first time I took it, my bedsheets ended up as a casualty. Be warned. It's liquid dynamite, lol."

For Constipation "I’m lactose intolerant and love cheese, so you’d think I’d be used to unpleasant bathroom visits. But I met a whole new caliber of pain after drinking an entire bottle of this stuff. Short answer: it works. Detailed answer: I’ve been pissing out my butt for over 24 hours. Everywhere I read said it lasted roughly 6-10 hours. Yeah, that’s a lie. I’ve been pooping watery demons every 20 minutes like clockwork ever since I took this stuff yesterday morning. Currently holding down the fort at work because the walls are thin and I wouldn’t wish this kind of secondhand smell on even my worst enemy. On the bright side, I’ve expelled everything I ate today, yesterday, and the week before, managing to lose that stubborn weight I gained from Valentine’s Day. So take it from someone who’s still in active duty; don’t drink this magic poop potion unless you’ve got a weekend of zero responsibility."

For Constipation "I've been feeling blocked up, not getting everything out for two weeks, and for the last two days, nothing but liquid is coming out, so I'm assuming fecal impaction. Since I was still passing gas, I figured it would be okay to try out a laxative instead of just popping stool softeners with water. I took half of the bottle at 8:30 am, then figured if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right, so I drank the other half at 9:00. It's 5:00 in the afternoon, and still nothing. I figure I'll take some more softeners tonight, and head out to the pharmacy for tomorrow's preparations. If I can't get it out between another bottle, glycerin suppositories, an enema, some Vaseline, and a pair of XL latex gloves, then I think I'll have to go to the doc."

For Constipation "I'm not sure why this works faster for some, but after a few days of no BM, I drank a full 10 oz bottle of mag cit at 5:30 p.m. and nothing happened until 3:50 a.m. (almost 10.5 hours later). No stomach cramping at all and very loose stool, but only once. Made me feel so much better! I will keep some in stock for the future!"

For Constipation "I was constipated for about two weeks when my doctor recommended I take magnesium citrate. Took it around 5 pm, didn't start pooping until about 7 pm, and have literally gone to the bathroom over 13 times! It is now 6:30 am and has been 13 hours since I drank MC. I'm STILL having diarrhea...."

For Constipation "I was suffering with the worst constipation of my life at only 20 years old. I hadn't been able to pass anything for 4 days, so I decided to drink the whole 10 oz bottle at 8:00 PM due to how backed up I was. If you are worried about it not kicking in, then be sure to give it a FULL 24-hour period before moving on. I had no BM throughout the entire night, but at 12:30 PM the next day, I was finally able to go! At first, the stool was still solid enough to pass, but ever since 4:00 PM, I started going every 20 minutes with intense diarrhea. This stuff is no joke. Make sure you are around a restroom at all times after you take this, since the urges will start to hit you out of nowhere with intense urgency. One major downside is that it makes my butthole hurt quite a lot no matter what I do, so also make sure that you have wet wipes and a comfortable place to sit or lay down. Highly recommend only to those who have been stopped up for a while with nothing else that's worked for them!!"

For Constipation "I took MC for constipation after Miralax and Milk of Magnesium didn’t work for me. I got home and took 6 oz with water and 3 stool softeners. Needless to say, I was going within 5 minutes after taking the MC and stool softeners. It was an easy process. Nothing hurt to come out, but I did get diarrhea. I took a shower, then ate some grapes, which was my mistake, because my body was still dealing with the MC. I ended up vomiting, which is also a side effect of the drug. All in all, I would recommend it if you have a hard time finding relief and want it quickly like I did after not going for 5 days."

For Constipation "Went to the ER because I had excruciating abdominal pain. I thought I had a blockage, it was that bad. The doc did an X-ray, no blockage, but full of stool. He gave me magnesium citrate. Doesn’t seem to be very effective for me, or something else is going on. I drank 3/4 of the bottle as instructed and have passed occasional diarrhea, but still can feel something hard in my abdomen. Didn’t make me have explosive diarrhea. I drank tons of water, probably 10-12 glasses. Maybe I can try drinking the rest, but it’s so gross I gag. Must be pretty backed up."

For Constipation "I don’t normally write reviews, but this was worth writing about!!! Believe the reviews on this product. If you want explosive diarrhea and poop waterfalls, then get this product. There will be literally poop all on the walls, covering the toilet, splashed on the sink, that’s how explosive this diarrhea was!! Please believe the reviews because I didn’t. This product is not something to take lightly."

For Constipation "I am two hours shy of pooping my brains out for 24 hours. I drank 8 oz of mag cit at 7 pm yesterday, and my stomach has not stopped growling and hurting, nor have I stopped having explosive diarrhea. I had one solid poo about an hour after taking it, but after that, I have been 'peeing' from my butt nonstop. I was forced to sleep on the couch last night because my boyfriend was scared I’d poop the bed. I coughed and pooped, I sneezed and pooped. DO NOT trust a fart, you WILL poop. I don’t think I’ll ever take this again, I’m wondering when this will end!!!!"

"RE - Prep for colonoscopy imaging (barium enema). I drank the entire 10 oz bottle as instructed. Within a minute, I was having diarrhea. That I could handle - even explosive, as this was. However, the magnesium citrate made me sicker than I can remember ever being. The time spent sitting on the toilet was bad enough (my bad knees were throbbing). But that was just the beginning - I became so weak from the mc that I had to lay my head on the stool I had placed in front of the toilet. I was sweating profusely and shaking uncontrollably. I couldn't lift my head, and my husband had to put my hair up in a ponytail - I literally lacked the energy to move. After maybe half an hour, I finally could sit up. Because of polyps and family history of colon cancer, doc wants me to go through this every 2-3 years! This was nothing like the prep for previous colonoscopies. I can't imagine going through this again. I can't recall a time when I have felt as miserable. Be warned!"

For Constipation "I had very hard impacted stools that I tried to expel for several hours. My husband bought magnesium citrate, and I drank the entire 10 oz bottle. Nothing happened - so I got into a warm bath, and I finally was able to get rid of it one inch at a time. (Sorry to be so disgusting.) Well, 6 hours later, the diarrhea started and went on every 2-3 minutes until I went to bed. I got up this morning and felt better, but again, I have diarrhea, and it explodes from me. So, the only thing this drug did for me was to give me diarrhea, so I will never use it again. Hopefully, if I stay away from cheesy food, I won't need anything like this."

For Constipation "This is my second experience taking mag citrate for a procedure - sigmoidoscopy. The first time was awful; I had eaten heavily all day and was very dehydrated. This time, I admittedly ate almost nothing most of the day and had a heavy dinner before taking the mag. I also forgot to drink water today, so I pounded 40 oz right before I ate. I've learned from other stomach problems not to risk eating anything remotely spicy before a situation where you'll have diarrhea. Eating more or less plain chicken and pasta combined with all the water has made this go-around much better. The water is a lifesaver for real! That's how the mag works anyways. First result was within an hour, then nothing for another hour or so, then 4 trips to the bathroom with totally liquid stool within the next hour or two. Because I took it with food, I'm sure there will be more later, but things have calmed down for now. It's been 4 hours since I've taken the bottle in total, and the product is mostly water at this point. Good luck!"

For Constipation "I used this on Wednesday at 7 PM as prescribed before a sigmoidoscopy. First, it was 3 quasi-normal BMs. Then the watery bowels for several hours from about 10 to 2:30. Got 2 hours of sleep, and then it started again. Bloating and stomach pain. Procedure was at 8 am Thursday. Friday and Saturday, loose bowels, and Sunday 3-4 soft bowels and then frequent watery stools, one of which was very mucousy. Ate some lunch, and the stomach and intestines started grumbling again with more watery stools. Wondering if anyone experienced any post effects from MC. It does work, but very uncomfortable."

For Constipation "Do not drink the whole bottle! I wish I had read these reviews before I downed the whole bottle, just four days after full hip replacement! Explosive diarrhea is an understatement! Blast off is no BS, thought I was about to be one of the floating satellites orbiting the planet! On a positive note, I have gotten plenty of exercise and PT for the hip, getting up, running to the toilet and bending for a dab, not a wipe at this point… cleanse, repeat!"

For Constipation "After I had been constipated for almost a week, one of my friends recommended that I try magnesium citrate. The results were fast. In less than an hour, I was able to go to the bathroom. Sorry for the TMI, but it was super easy too. I barely had to push, and a lot came out. Half an hour later, I had to go again. Another huge poop, but this time was different. It got really runny towards the end. It wasn't long after that, and I had to go to the bathroom again. I had violent watery diarrhea. This continued for the rest of the day. I had really bad gas and the worst case of explosive diarrhea. I lost count of how many times I went to the bathroom. I think it was worth it, though. I feel so much better now."
