For Constipation "Last night, I went to the hospital for severe stomach pains, bloating, nausea, and lack of appetite. The ER doctor gave me a 10 oz magnesium citrate (MC) bottle, and I waited until 2 p.m. today to take the whole thing. HOLY COW... I have been living on the toilet since 4 p.m., and it’s now 8 p.m. The pain is completely gone in my stomach! Make sure to have your phone charged so you can catch up on your favorite show - you might be in the bathroom for a while!"

For Constipation "No poop for 4 days, and I was stressed (when I did, it was a tiny pebble). No pain, but I felt uncomfortable. Started taking Miralax at the end of day 2. Nothing. Next, coffee (gives me the runs), ginger tea, and then milk since I'm kind of lactose intolerant. Still nothing. A friend recommended magnesium citrate (MC). First up, this did not work right away. It gave me the worst cramps of my life after 1.5 hours. Felt like what I imagine labor contractions to be. I was screaming and even cried. Happened every 2/3 minutes. Awful. But no poop. Forced BM, but was only able to manually pull some out, then started feeling hemorrhoids, so I stopped. Went to sleep, but the pain was so bad. 12 hours later, I had my first poop. It was solid but soft, which was surprising since I was sure I was impacted. Didn't feel full relief, but I was done, so I got off. 15 minutes later, I was back for mostly liquid. 15 minutes later, back for just liquid. So far, no fire feeling. Summary: It took much longer to work, and I had intense stomach pain while waiting."

For Constipation "I had surgery, and from the anesthesia and pain medicine, I became very constipated. I literally had no bowel movement whatsoever for 5 days. I started having some stomach pains, I am assuming from gas or just being constipated. I told my doctor what was going on and asked what I could take, and he recommended Magnesium Citrate. I bought a bottle and drank the full 10 oz. About 30 minutes after drinking this, it hit me... I was able to go, and all of the pain and bloating was gone. I was completely relieved. Unfortunately, this story does not end here. Every 15 to 30 minutes for the next 6 hours, I was back in the bathroom, and it was nothing but water... uncontrollable diarrhea. I was literally at a point where I was praying that it would stop."

For Constipation "So I drank the whole bottle of Magnesium Citrate, and after 30 minutes of using it, my stomach started hurting so bad! I immediately ran to the toilet and sat there, but nothing came out, just excruciating pain!!! Then I started pushing, and it was kind of hard to pass. Then, all of a sudden, it started coming out like an ice cream machine! After about 30 minutes of that, it started coming out like diarrhea! I thought I was finished and stepped out for a second. I heard my stomach making a loud noise, and I ran to the bathroom, and gravy water started coming out!! Like I’m peeing out my butt! I kid you not! I’ve been doing this for 6 hours now, but just gravy water! I thought it was over, and I ate dinner. Then my stomach rumbled again, and I knew to run to the restroom! As soon as I plopped onto the toilet, gravy water!!! I do feel lighter, but my goodness, I need to get ready for work, but I can’t because I’m stuck on the toilet! Not sure if I’ll recommend just yet!!"

For Constipation "I'm NEVER constipated, so this experience was quite disturbing for me. It took me almost two weeks to realize that my stomach pain was due to constipation. And even then, I was afraid to use a laxative, as I've never had to use one ever in my life. I tried a Fleet enema first, with very minimal results. Then, two days later, I couldn't take it anymore. (Every time I ate, my stomach began to hurt either immediately or a short time after), so my mother told me to try magnesium citrate. I was scared to try it because a few people complained of throwing up after drinking it. Didn't want to add to the issues, so I went ahead and got the cherry flavor. Couldn't drink it all but got about 8 of the 10 ounces down. 'Clear skies' now! (no throw up)."

For Constipation "After having wisdom teeth removed, I have only been eating jello for the past five days. Felt as if I had to go #2 yesterday, but it would not come out. Thought I was simply constipated, so I went out and bought laxatives, and I took two right before going to sleep. This morning, I woke up with stomach pains worse than yesterday. Tried to go to the bathroom, and laxatives did not work: it would not come out. I was in tears from pain and begged my father to grab something to MAKE me go while he was out grocery shopping. He came home, said 'Take this,' and so I did. After only 45 minutes, I went. You will cramp up badly and feel rumbly-it WILL hurt-but as everyone else said, the relief is worth it-Drink plenty of water too! 10/10 for M. Citrate!"

For Constipation "For the last couple of weeks, I felt like I wasn't going to the bathroom often enough, so I went to the store and got some magnesium citrate. I got off from work at 10 a.m. I drank the whole bottle, then drank a bottle of water. After doing it like that, it made me feel very, very full, and my stomach was tight. Then, I started getting nauseated. After that, I went and laid down. 30 minutes later, I started feeling my lower belly cramping up, and I started farting. Then, two hours after that, I had a bowel movement. It was hard, then a few minutes later, it started being loose. I have a towel under me because I don't want to poop everywhere. But I can say I don't know what was inside my body, but it sure does stink. I can say I have pooped at least 2 lbs of unwanted waste."

For Constipation "I am on a medicine, the main side effect is constipation. So I take a stool softener daily. Last week I didn't have any. So I tried to increase fiber, but it didn't work... I ended up going 10 days without any type of bowel movement or even gas to speak of. I got a bottle of cherry magnesium citrate, drank the whole bottle followed by 12 oz of water. And within 3 hours, I finally got results. I had a small amount of stomach pain, and I continued to go to the bathroom for the next 5 hours after I went the first time. I felt lighter and empty, I recommend this, it works. I will say I got the cherry, it tasted like a cherry Sweet Tart. The taste kind of lingers, but it was not too bad."

For Constipation "My pain doctor just switched my pain meds around, and I started having bad stomach pains, worse than labor with my four kids. So I set off to go get fleets because I have used them before and know they work. They are just uncomfortable putting them in, but I went to Dollar General, and the girl that works there told me about the magnesium citrate grape flavor. She said she used it after her hysterectomy. I took half the bottle when I was almost back to the house. After 25 minutes, it worked a little. I took the rest of the bottle (don't do this, wait for the stuff to finish working). Well, all I got to say: no cramps and my stomach is empty. God bless this product, and I will keep it on my shelf for life."

For Constipation "Started out with a severe UTI. Prior to that, movements were normal and regular. Think I got dehydrated, and since I have IBS, it doesn’t take a lot to throw off my system. So for two weeks, I was fighting this, but once the UTI was resolved, I still had this pressure/pain on my bladder/pelvic area. Doctor prescribed OTC Magnesium Citrate (1 10 oz bottle) along with a small bottle of Gatorade. I am not a fan of Gatorade, but she wanted to keep electrolytes in balance. Poured them together and sipped on this for about 3 hours. It took 8 hours to kick in, but I never experienced any stomach pains, cramps, or watery diarrhea, but wow, will it clean you out. Don’t plan on any out-of-your-home activities, you will regret it. Good luck, good health to all."

For Constipation "I got a good laugh reading a lot of these comments. So I drank the full 10 oz bottle at 4:30 pm. It was hard to finish and probably took an hour and a half to finish the terrible thing (lemon flavor). Then, as prescribed, I took Miralax right after. Hours go by and nothing is happening. At one point before I go to sleep, a little does come out with what I assume is called 'the plug,' so I'm like, okay, yes, here we go. Finally, some relief to this stomach pain I've been having for almost two weeks (which was chalked up to stress; causing my constipation). Nope. Eventually, I couldn't stay awake, but I woke up about every hour throughout the night to go and push just the tiniest amount. Now I'm off to work and still not empty :("

For Constipation "I drank a little over half the bottle at 12 pm. My belly started hurting, and I felt like throwing up. Took a nap at 4 pm, I drank the other half. At 4:17, I finally got a little poop out. Still at 5 pm, I still feel bloated and feel like throwing up. Not much happening here, and no, I'm not dehydrated, I drink plenty of water. Also, I had 2 12 oz bottles of water to get the taste of the salty cherry slime out of my mouth and 2 little Gatorades. I would rather have drunk the slimy lemon stuff for the colonoscopy, at least it's quick."

For Constipation "I am two hours shy of pooping my brains out for 24 hours. I drank 8 oz of mag cit at 7 pm yesterday, and my stomach has not stopped growling and hurting, nor have I stopped having explosive diarrhea. I had one solid poo about an hour after taking it, but after that, I have been 'peeing' from my butt nonstop. I was forced to sleep on the couch last night because my boyfriend was scared I’d poop the bed. I coughed and pooped, I sneezed and pooped. DO NOT trust a fart, you WILL poop. I don’t think I’ll ever take this again, I’m wondering when this will end!!!!"

For Constipation "I used this on Wednesday at 7 PM as prescribed before a sigmoidoscopy. First, it was 3 quasi-normal BMs. Then the watery bowels for several hours from about 10 to 2:30. Got 2 hours of sleep, and then it started again. Bloating and stomach pain. Procedure was at 8 am Thursday. Friday and Saturday, loose bowels, and Sunday 3-4 soft bowels and then frequent watery stools, one of which was very mucousy. Ate some lunch, and the stomach and intestines started grumbling again with more watery stools. Wondering if anyone experienced any post effects from MC. It does work, but very uncomfortable."
